Shangri-La Harbin Hotels in Harbin

Shangri-La Harbin

"This is an old hotel with very cramped rooms, especially the bathroom, where two people can barely turn around when opening and closing the door. The bedding was nice though. Breakfast was plentiful, and the pickled cabbage buns were incredibly delicious! We all agreed it was the best breakfast among all the hotels we stayed at on this trip. The location is super convenient; turn left out of the hotel and walk three or four minutes to Shanghai Road Metro Station, making it easy to get to Zhongjie Street and Chinese Baroque. The only downside is that the facilities are quite old."

"This stay completely exceeded my expectations! The hotel is located in a distinctive neighborhood, and the Chinese Baroque architecture creates an immersive, retro atmosphere. They even offer a cheongsam try-on experience, so every photo you take looks professional. The room was spotless, the bedding was soft, and the mattress and pillows were incredibly comfortable. The bathroom was equipped with a Dyson hairdryer, and the water purification system provided peace of mind, with stable hot water and good pressure. The entire room had smart controls for lighting and curtains, and the rotatable TV mount was a thoughtful touch. The soundproofing was excellent, as I couldn't hear any noise from the hallway. The front desk and housekeeping staff were all incredibly kind and attentive. The breakfast, served in a beautiful nine-grid presentation, was exquisite and delicious. The location offers convenient transportation, making it perfect for both tourists and short stays. I've already recommended it to friends, and it will definitely be my top choice for my next visit!"

The room was also very clean. The location is excellent – it's close to the main road, making it easy to catch a taxi, yet it's surprisingly quiet. It's also super close to Jinan Street, just a 400-meter walk, which is incredibly convenient for shopping and dining. The staff at the hotel were all incredibly kind and enthusiastic. "The restaurant is fantastic, with a great ambiance and excellent facilities. The breakfast is abundant and served until 12 PM, which is perfect for someone like me who isn't an early riser. After this brunch, I was full of energy and ready to explore. The service is thoughtful and warm; every staff member in the restaurant had a friendly smile on their face. The 3D-printed yogurts in the pictures are incredibly cute; I took photos of all of them to cherish. Although my dietary choices were somewhat limited due to ethnic considerations, I was delighted to find Lanzhou hand-pulled noodles here. Their roasted chicken also tasted exceptionally good, and today I even had stewed chicken with mushrooms – I'm so satisfied! The room offers a splendid view, with the beautiful Songhua River scenery right before my eyes. The housekeeping staff always greeted me warmly whenever we met. On my first day, I even received frozen pears in an insulated container and a handwritten note, which was such a thoughtful touch. The transportation is super convenient; the hotel is right next to the river cable car, a five-minute walk to Central Avenue, and it's only about a twenty-minute walk to Saint Sophia Cathedral. What an amazing hotel!"

"This was my first time in Harbin, and I scoured Xiaohongshu for hotels before my trip. I saw some reviews for Jinjiang Yazhi saying it was cold, had poor soundproofing, and gaps under the door, etc. But after staying there myself, I realized those were just nitpicks. The service was excellent, and the hotel was very clean. Since I drove, I was also happy that parking wasn't an issue. I stayed for three days, and every morning, the housekeeping staff would leave water and essentials by my door (because I didn't need daily cleaning). The picture shows my own bedding, but the hotel's comforter was also very clean. The best part is that it's right by the Flood Control Memorial Tower and next door to Central Street. If I ever have the chance to visit Harbin again, I'll definitely choose Jinjiang Yazhi Hotel. Wishing the owner prosperous business!"

Tips for Booking Harbin Hotels

Book Ahead for Harbin's Peak Seasons

Harbin can get very busy during the winter months (December–February), especially around the Ice and Snow Festival. Hotels near the Ice and Snow World or Central Harbin fill up quickly, and room prices rise as the event draws closer. It’s wise to book early to secure the best rates.

Plan Around Local Festivals

Harbin hosts several popular events, like the Harbin International Ice and Snow Sculpture Festival (January–February), the Harbin International Beer Festival (July), and the Songhua River Winter Swimming Festival (January). These festivals draw large crowds, so expect higher prices and crowded areas, especially near the venues.

Choose the Right Area to Stay

For easy access to Harbin's attractions, stay near the city centre or Central Street. If you're coming to see the Ice and Snow Festival, choose a hotel closer to the festival site. If you prefer quiet, consider staying in the Sun Island area.
