Prior to check-in date, the hotel had contacted via phone and email for pre-arrival check. It’s great that manager Jason was able to confirm the baby cot that I had requested when making the reservation. On arrival, the bell had promptly came over to help with our luggage. This is helpful as there seems to be only stairs at the driveway as I can’t find another alternative. Once I stepped into the lobby, I noticed a refreshing scent that lifted my mood. While waiting for my room key, I was presented with welcome drinks. They had assisted to show the way to the room, along they way we were brought to the spa area and the guest service also shared that there is a aeroponics farming area next to the spa reception. Even though it’s only 2nd floor but we were amazed with room’s high ceiling, something that most of us don’t have it at home. Their floor to ceiling window let in good amount of natural lighting into the room. I lived the complimentary healthy snacks that’s placed in the room together with the complimentary still and sparking water. The spacious room once again hit the right spot to make your feel relaxed and calm. During the stay, we visited that aeroponics area again as we were mesmerized by how easy plants could be grown indoor. I remembered there is a plant called lemon balm, Liza was very kind to share with us how this aeroponics farming works and gave us some of the lemon balm leaves. I added the lemon balm leaves into the sparking water that was available in the room for a refreshing drink to end of the night. Breakfast was great with the usual western and continental selection, what’s more interesting is their five dim sum warrior breakfast set and also their barramundi mixed oat congee. You must try these when you are there. I will like to thank a couple of people who we had interacted with and had made our stay pleasant: Jason for the wonderful connecting room arrangement, Liza who was at the wellness lounge area at around 9pm and she took the effort to share with us their interesting Grobrix aeroponic system and the plants growing there, Xiao Yun, Joey and Hanish who cleaned and sanitised the room. There are many more of them, I wished I could remember all their names. There is so much more to write and share, but one thing that I should not missed is that you have to stay two nights to truly experience a good retreat from the usual hassle and bustle. It’s definitely different from staying at the city hotel. If you want a good rejuvenating experience, please check out this hotel.

But this 2 bedroom arrangement comes with a living hall which is good for family bonding. The only downside is that there is only 1 bathroom, and 1 powder room (we took it quite well ... treat it as if we ate staying at a Japanese ryokan which only has 1 bathroom) ... 😄

The hotel is very close to Wenqing subway station, walk 5.6 minutes. The youth hostel is very small. It has a lot of capsule beds in one room, but the capsule room is well designed. It is very spacious to sleep alone. The closed door is your own private space. Bedding, lighting, safe, charging plug, usb, and mirror are all available in the capsule. The access to the card is safe, and the bathroom is clean. Although there are many people, this is still in place. With breakfast, it is simple cereal. And toast bread, coffee milk variety. The front desk attitude is very good, that is, one of the lights in my room is broken and cannot be turned off. The Indian brother first said that the light in each room could not be turned off. He lied. Actually, it was not. Later, he let him think of a solution. In short, the overall is a good hostel, you can choose this next time you go to Singapore, it is recommended ~~~~~~

Just 2 days before my check-in date, I've already given a 5 stars rating! Reason? I received an email from the hotel to do eCheck-ins! Upon doing so, I also received another email for booking of breakfast, pools, gyms etc! OMG! How many hotels have this super convenient and how many of you had even queued from 3pm for hours for check-ins? This is my first and the best hotels experience even before I step into the hotel! THIS IS REALLY AWESOME! Oh, I haven't started to comment on my staycation yet ah... Yap, not yet, and on top of that, an sms was sent a day before allocating a much earlier time(I don't wanna share the exact timings but you'll never imagine! 🤭) to avoid crowdings. And can you imagine 1 day before my check-in date, I've completed all my eCheck-ins, breakfast, gym and pool bookings! On the check-in date, I just scan the QR code which was issued and it took less than 5-10mins for the staff to prepare the room cards for us to start our staycation! Hotel staff are very friendly and helpful everywhere! As for the room and breakfast, I'll just let the photos do the talkings! 👍

Hotels in Singapore

Weather, the Best time to travel

There’s more to Singapore than just tourism and good food. It is a city full of history, a small city-state located at the tail end of the Malay Peninsula. It’s officially known as the Republic of Singapore. The name Singapore is the anglicized version of the Malay name Singapura, which came from the Sanskrit word Simhapura, meaning Lion City. Singapore was colonized by various entities like the Portuguese, Japanese and British before becoming the independent nation it is now in August 1965. It was colonized due to its strategic geographic location. It is one of the busiest ports in the world and the largest in Southeast Asia. Singapore is located about a degree north of the equator. It is bordered by the South China Sea, Straits of Malacca and Riau Island. The country is made up of one main island and just above 60 tiny islands.

Singapore climate can be termed as a tropical rainforest climate. There isn’t much variation in the climate throughout the year, except for an increase in rainfall between November and February. Temperature and humidity remain uniform throughout. You will find tourists here all-year-round. If you’re not too used to rainfall, you can visit Singapore between February and April when it’s comparatively drier.

Airports/nearby airport

Singapore has two functional commercial airports, Singapore Changi Airport and Seletar Airport. Singapore Changi Airport, popularly known as Chang Airport is the main airport in Singapore and is located about 20 kilometres from downtown in Changi. It started operations in June 1981 and is the first airport to have a garden and allow free city calls to its passengers. The most convenient way of getting to Singapore from Singapore Changi Airport is by taxi and costs about SGD20 to SGD30 with a travel time of up to 30 minutes. Transportation

Singapore has a well-developed transportation system and one of the best in Asia. It has a well laid out expressway covering over 161 kilometres. Due to the high density of population and less land area, owning a car could get very expensive, which is the government’s way to coerce the population to use public transport. Buses, trains, and taxis are very popular and efficient here. Taxi fares are much cheaper here compared to other developed countries. Train transport includes Mass Rapid Transport (MRT) and Light Rapid Transit (LRT).

How to get to the destination
