I arrived in the rain. It's just a short walk to Central Street, but the hotel is definitely quite old, much older than I expected. Even though they upgraded my room, it still felt old inside, and I lost the desire to take photos. I didn't even bother washing up that night, but for just one night's sleep, it was acceptable. Perhaps it was because the air conditioning had to be turned on after I entered the room, and the initial smell wasn't great. The service was also just average; no one offered to tell me about the century-old elevator, I had to ask about everything myself (though it seems to be common in the North). However, once I asked, the service was quite good. For breakfast, you have to leave the hotel and go downstairs. The breakfast was decent; you could order freshly made Eggs Benedict and smoked salmon sandwiches, in addition to the regular buffet. The 'Guo Bao Rou' (sweet and sour pork) was excellent, by the way. Overall, it was okay, but I wouldn't stay there again because I prefer newer hotels.

I have had a 4-night stay at this Homeinn Selected Hotel (Harbin Central Avenue Pedestrian Street) Room #308 from 23 to 27 March 2026. The Hotel is located very near the popular 1.5km Central Street (a must-go for people who love to immerse Russian architectural of the golden era). There are many eateries and shops along this pedestrian street, so it is extremely convenient to hunt for food, especially the Russia cuisines. The Hotel itself is not old and run down as it appears quite new, however, the building can be quite old and it can be better maintained by the building owner. It has a modest but modern lobby with welcoming sofas, with free serving of hot coffee and tea, plus free supply of bottled water! It is generally clean and maintained. The hotel staff are polite and helpful, whenever I ask for directions and recommendations of food and places of interest. The hotel family room that I have booked is about 400sq ft - it is meant for 3! The decoration is contemporary and modern, and the double-glazed has helped to shut the traffic noise off near 100%. It is certainly spacious and clean, with 1 queen bed and 1 super single bed, a small sofa set, and a big TV. It does not have a so called proper wardrobe, the proper vanity top is outside the very big shower room that is separated from the powerful WC. It has strong water pressure for comfortable showers everyday. The firm mattress and pillows are comfortable for my liking. The Hotel also has a laundry room that provides free washing and drying for hotel guests. Within the laundry comes with a treadmill, a stationery bicycle, and a workout station for guests who wish to do some simple exercise. The hotel also offers daily breakfast buffets at about ¥49 per pax, which is limited in variety but it gives a good start for the day. At SGD S$36 per night for a very spacious room without breakfast , I find it extremely value for money, and I will surely choose to stay here again when I visit Harbin again to experience the magical winter world!

The Grand Mercure Harbin Sophia Church is well-equipped and spotlessly clean. The breakfast was fantastic! The hotel's location is super convenient, and the rooms are really comfortable. It's an excellent choice for business travelers and families on vacation. Thumbs up for the great service! I highly recommend staying here!

This hotel truly lives up to its pictures, boasting a magnificent Russian palace style with rich reds and blues, exquisite arches, ceiling frescoes, and beautiful velvet sofas. The spatial arrangement is fantastic! Another highlight is definitely the breakfast! It's incredibly delicious, abundant, and hearty – quite astonishing to have steak and large sausages so early in the morning! There's also a young man pushing a delicate cart, serving 'Guo Bao Rou' (sweet and sour pork), which adds a charming contrast. By the way, the 'Guo Bao Rou' at this hotel's breakfast is the best I've had in Harbin and perfectly suited my taste! The front desk staff was also very enthusiastic. They quickly helped us with a delivery we needed to send, and seeing our many bags, they proactively helped us take them to our room. Finally, the floral patterns in the bathroom are absolutely beautiful, and the laundry room upstairs makes washing and drying clothes very convenient!

The hotel's decor style is very new and different from the older Holiday Inn Express, perhaps they've updated their product line. The front desk lady quietly upgraded our room type, and the room was very characteristic of Northeast China, haha. It's spacious and very clean, with not a single water stain on the faucets or showerhead, which made my OCD very happy. It's a shame we had to switch hotels later to go elsewhere, otherwise, I would have definitely stayed here longer. Breakfast was also very rich. Thumbs up!

Great care is taken in selecting and appreciating tea utensils, arranging and decorating the tearoom's calligraphy and paintings, and even in the construction of the tearoom itself. The Japanese view the tea ceremony as a means of self-cultivation, enhancing cultural literacy, and socializing.

Aside from the front desk staff's attitude being a bit subpar on the first day during check-in, everything else was great. The hotel's location is excellent, making it super convenient to get to Central Street and other major attractions. They really put thought into providing afternoon tea for guests. The room facilities are comprehensive, and the surrounding amenities are complete. The breakfast was also exquisite. Highly recommended.

Extremely satisfied with our stay! The location is super convenient, just a short walk to Central Street and Metro Line 3, making it easy to get to the high-speed rail station and other places. The front desk staff were warm and attentive. They also offer afternoon tea, coffee, and lemon water – it was so refreshing to have a drink after coming back to the hotel. They even provide special slippers and toothbrushes for children. The room was clean, tidy, and comfortable. We will definitely choose this hotel again next time we visit!

My stay at this hotel in Yabuli exceeded my expectations. The room was clean and tidy, the facilities were well-maintained, and the bedding was comfortable, leading to a great night's sleep. The staff were warm and attentive, and check-in and check-out were very efficient. The surrounding environment is tranquil, and the air is fresh. The ski resort isn't open yet, so I couldn't ski this time, but it's perfect for a quiet, relaxing getaway. I'll definitely be back to hit the slopes when ski season arrives. Highly recommended!

What's it like to be a ”castle owner” for a night? The Sun Island Castle Hotel, located on the scenic banks of the Songhua River, boasts a charming European architectural style. The first floor is home to various small eateries, while the entire second floor is dedicated to the hotel guest rooms. From the third floor, you can directly access the cross-river cable car, and the fourth floor houses the Chocolate Castle Museum. This museum features an incredibly diverse collection of chocolates, and outside, there's an observation deck – a superb spot to admire the Songhua River's night view. The hotel's location is excellent, offering incredibly convenient transportation. Besides the cable car, you can also take a cruise ship across the river. The sightseeing bus also stops here, making it easy to visit all the attractions on Sun Island, with the freedom to hop on and off as you please. This time, I stayed in the most affordable ”Viscount Interior Room.” The room was spacious and well-equipped, with furnishings that truly captured the grand essence of a castle. The only minor drawback was the lack of a window, meaning I couldn't enjoy the natural scenery outside – a small regret. It's worth noting that, compared to the opulent guest rooms, the hotel's front desk seemed a bit understated. The small reception counter is tucked away in a corner on the first floor, which felt a little out of sync with the ”Chocolate Castle” theme. Personally, I suggest designing the front desk in the shape of chocolate and having the reception staff wear more distinctive attire. Wouldn't that better align with the magical theme of this place? Overall, this was a surprisingly delightful stay, highly recommended for those who appreciate unique hotels.
