The hotel is ideally located right on Central Street. Its rich historical charm is a significant selling point. Since my child and I have different routines, I listened to the hotel's introduction twice – once with my husband and once with my child – and the experiences were quite different. The first young lady rattled through the information quickly, almost like reciting from memory. However, the second gentleman was very enthusiastic, telling stories, reminding us to record and take photos, interacting with my child, and even offering to get house-made yogurt for the little one, which was wonderful. The hotel introductions seem to follow a standard template and are a bit too short. Adding more stories would enhance the experience; for example, the introductions at Suzhou Nan Yuan Hotel are particularly engaging.
The hotel kettle is truly ancient. The lid pops open while boiling water, and it doesn't automatically switch off when the water boils, leading to it boiling dry. This is genuinely poor and poses a safety hazard. At breakfast, I asked for sesame oil for my child's noodles, and the noodle-making auntie initially said there wasn't any. I then asked if she could get some from the back kitchen, and she did eventually get some for my child. Overall, the stay was decent, but as a five-star hotel, it needs to improve its service, facilities, and staff training.

YilufengjingdouyouniThe hotel's location is fantastic – right on Central Street, which is incredibly convenient, and very close to the Flood Control Monument. It's also a short walk to the Hongzhuan Morning Market in the mornings.
The hotel staff (especially the ladies) are very welcoming and the rooms are clean and tidy. Even though it's on the bustling Central Street, it's still relatively quiet at night. A special shout-out to the excellent and varied hotel breakfast. I highly recommend it to everyone!
Next time I'm back in Harbin, I'll definitely stay here again. Five stars!

This hotel boasts an excellent location, with Central Street to its right and Zhaolin Park to its left. It's just a 15-minute walk to the Flood Control Memorial Tower by the Songhua River and 17 minutes to Saint Sophia Cathedral. The prime location allows you to wake up early, beat the crowds, and stroll along Central Street, admiring the old buildings – it's definitely worth it. Right next door is the original restaurant famous for Guo Bao Rou (sweet and sour pork). They don't use pre-made dishes; everything is cooked fresh, which means a wait of at least 40 minutes, but people queue up every day.
The room itself was a bit small. I booked a twin room, but there weren't any available even at 2 PM, so they upgraded me to a king room. It was about 2 square meters larger and had a bathtub in the bathroom, which was generally satisfying.
The owner has put a lot of thought into the hotel, using antique furniture to create a great atmosphere perfect for photos. Their service is genuinely good; they helped with luggage and even offered afternoon tea. The laundry room on the top floor is a bit basic, but the hotel offers laundry service, which is a nice touch.

The hotel's decor style is very new and different from the older Holiday Inn Express, perhaps they've updated their product line. The front desk lady quietly upgraded our room type, and the room was very characteristic of Northeast China, haha. It's spacious and very clean, with not a single water stain on the faucets or showerhead, which made my OCD very happy. It's a shame we had to switch hotels later to go elsewhere, otherwise, I would have definitely stayed here longer. Breakfast was also very rich. Thumbs up!

The hotel room was spacious and came with a bathtub, but the location isn't particularly close to Central Street. However, it's very quiet here, and the front desk and cleaning staff were very friendly. The parking is free, but there are limited and small spaces. Every time I returned to the hotel late at night, finding a parking spot felt like taking a driving test. I hope the hotel can design more parking spaces next time so guests don't have to squeeze in and maneuver so much.

XikangAside from the front desk staff's attitude being a bit subpar on the first day during check-in, everything else was great. The hotel's location is excellent, making it super convenient to get to Central Street and other major attractions. They really put thought into providing afternoon tea for guests. The room facilities are comprehensive, and the surrounding amenities are complete. The breakfast was also exquisite. Highly recommended.

Guest UserExtremely satisfied with our stay! The location is super convenient, just a short walk to Central Street and Metro Line 3, making it easy to get to the high-speed rail station and other places. The front desk staff were warm and attentive. They also offer afternoon tea, coffee, and lemon water – it was so refreshing to have a drink after coming back to the hotel. They even provide special slippers and toothbrushes for children. The room was clean, tidy, and comfortable. We will definitely choose this hotel again next time we visit!

Let's start with the positives: the hotel offers convenient ski-in/ski-out access, and the staff at the ski equipment rental (a few older gentlemen and younger guys) were incredibly helpful and provided excellent service. That's where the good things end.
Firstly, I have to question the authenticity of Trip.com's star ratings. Giving this hotel a 'luxury' and '5-star' designation seriously lowers my opinion of Trip.com! The rooms weren't cleaned, and there was hardly any service, except for the evening cleaning lady who was very kind and even gave us water. The hotel restaurant is a rip-off! The high prices aren't the issue; the problem is the food is terrible! Not fresh, among other things. If a better hotel opens in Yabuli, this place will really struggle to compete.

Guest UserWhat's it like to be a ”castle owner” for a night?
The Sun Island Castle Hotel, located on the scenic banks of the Songhua River, boasts a charming European architectural style. The first floor is home to various small eateries, while the entire second floor is dedicated to the hotel guest rooms. From the third floor, you can directly access the cross-river cable car, and the fourth floor houses the Chocolate Castle Museum. This museum features an incredibly diverse collection of chocolates, and outside, there's an observation deck – a superb spot to admire the Songhua River's night view.
The hotel's location is excellent, offering incredibly convenient transportation. Besides the cable car, you can also take a cruise ship across the river. The sightseeing bus also stops here, making it easy to visit all the attractions on Sun Island, with the freedom to hop on and off as you please.
This time, I stayed in the most affordable ”Viscount Interior Room.” The room was spacious and well-equipped, with furnishings that truly captured the grand essence of a castle. The only minor drawback was the lack of a window, meaning I couldn't enjoy the natural scenery outside – a small regret.
It's worth noting that, compared to the opulent guest rooms, the hotel's front desk seemed a bit understated. The small reception counter is tucked away in a corner on the first floor, which felt a little out of sync with the ”Chocolate Castle” theme. Personally, I suggest designing the front desk in the shape of chocolate and having the reception staff wear more distinctive attire. Wouldn't that better align with the magical theme of this place?
Overall, this was a surprisingly delightful stay, highly recommended for those who appreciate unique hotels.
