Firstly, I was celebrating my anniversary at this hotel as I did the year before. Previous experience was good so I decided to come back again this year. A nice cake and card was prepared which we appreciated. Then comes a series of disasters. At the Club Lounge, the Szechuan soup was burnt. We informed the staff there but only got an answer of “Ok” and no apologies nor any service recovery acts. This was on 28 February. Then on 30 February, I chose two pieces of kueh and started eating and realised it was spoilt and I spit the rest out. This didn’t sit well with my stomach which was uncomfortable while trying to get back to Singapore. After breakfast and was leaving at 10.40am from the breakfast restaurant, a black out happened. Although we were told there was a maintenance which was supposed to start at 11am, didn’t expect that it started earlier and unexpectedly. We were stuck on level 6 until 11.25am before we could reach our room. Once inside the room, the bathroom lights didn’t work and some powerpoints didn’t work as well so I couldn’t make coffee. Then I received a phone call asking me what time I’m leaving and I told the staff that I had already mentioned at the Front Desk to extend a check out at 2pm. Subsequently, another staff came to the room around 15 minutes later to knock on my door to ask what time we’re leaving and I had to repeat what I told the staff who called earlier. I guess the staff did not record nor inform the other colleagues about our check out time. All I have mentioned are in the photo I uploaded. This is the 4th time I stayed at Amari JB while I have stayed at Amari KL at least 5 times last year. I am also an Onyx Reward member as well as Trip.com Diamond member. I’m not trying to make a big deal out of this stay because I had no complaints during my previous stays nor in KL as well. But just disappointed that a happy occasion for us didn’t exactly turn out as such.

Hotel Granada Johor Bahru

Gelang Patah Johor Bahru
Pros 1. 1st impression of the hotel from an exterior view of the building was a bit rundown due to the paint on the wall looks like they never paint for many years...but here is the catch. Once you enter the lobby, you are transported into a new different era. The lobby area looks welcoming and there are sofa seats for travellers to sit. It was quiet and not many travellers when I check in at 6pm. I got the room keys within 10 mins of arrival. 2. Once I entered the assigned hotel room, i immediately look out of the window and to my surprise, the AEON Bukit Indah was just a stone throw away. I don't need to drive there but instead I can reach there within a 5 mins walk. I think having a shopping mall just across the street is a good pulling factor. Not only that but there is a fast-food outlet like McDonald and Burger King within a walking distance as well. 3. Let's talk about the interior of the room. As soon as I entered the room, the interior space which I have chosen (Deluxe Queen Room) are within my expectation. Not so big and neither small. There is a space for our luggage and a sitting console to do your make up. There is a mini fridge and 2 coffee cups with coffee and tea bags as well as 2 bottles of mineral water. Not much of an issue. Toilet cleanliness and toiletries are there. There was a dispensing body shower and shampoo press that was installed and located beside the shower tap which I find it to be useful and convenient. 4. Air con wise, cold enough to cool the room within an hour. Adjustable thermostat from 17 to 27 Deg C. I even slept with the aircon on at 26 Deg C throughout the night. You still feel that little bit of coldness but not too cold to freeze you. 5. There is a lot of channels such as TV1, TV2 and TV3. Also got CNA and TV5. So basically i got want I want to watch during the night. Only that if the TV screen would be bigger, it would be better. I think the size is about 29”. Viewing from the bed look small. A decent 55” tv screen would helps. 6. I love the mattress. Very firm and sturdy but the pillow, emm...we were provided with only 2. 7. Its a free parking. No need any coupon to enter or exit. Just Park and leave it there. 1 thing to note is that the parking lots are limited. 8. There are lots of choices for the breakfast. Catering to Asian types of dishes. There are prata, nasi lemak, half boiled egg, fried rice and mini pow. Don't expect extravaganza dishes but I am happy with the choices that they have. Do take note to come down early at 7.30am to get seats because by 8.30am, it would be very crowded already. The breakfast is served from 6.30am until 10am. Cons. 1. There was no iron and iron board, but we manage to get the housekeeping to send both the items into our room. 2. The toilet shower and bidet pressure are not strong that you knew you just need that extra push to feel a comfortable pressure during your shower or cleaning your stuff right after your ”unload”. Tap water pressure from the sink is good. 3. We are able to connect our mobile data to the hotel's Wi-Fi successfully but somehow the bandwidth is not so fast as I want it. A bit lagging at times and when you are so used to the speed in SG, you will get a bit annoyed by the slow speed. So sometimes, I switch back to my data plan (M1 My Passport) to connect to the internet. 4. The pillows doesn't seem to be the right cushion that we want. Because we used to sleep at home using a spongy pillow that will bounce back when you slap on it, the hotel ones do not seem to have that. Once you punch on it, it stays there. So, when you sleep at one portion of the pillow, it sinks. So, you keep re-adjusting to get to that comfort level. For a rating between 1 to 10 where 10 is the best score, I would probably rate it as 7.5/10. I will still come back to stay here but probably bring my home pillow instead. And of course, it is near the highway leading back to Tuas if you need to come in via 2nd link.

Great value for money when booking online.Hotel are huge and rooms are spacious.Cleanliness and housekeeping are tip top the best hotel I ever stayed.Staff are so friendly, helpful and always gave a fast respond. My upmost gratitudes to the receptionist counter.... Duty Manager Ms Nur Mashytah,Ms Sandra, Ms Sesla and the rest of the staff for their greatest service, helpfull and most importantly the hospitality. My stayed there feel too short and feel like going back there again now but too bad due to work but will definitely come back this time with my family.Really happy and joyed being there.Thank you once again to the hotel management and all the staffs for the best service provided. My stayed over there has been really the sweetest moment I've ever had!!!Salute to all.....Those who read this review I highly recommend to stayed at this hotel...Yes by online it's for sure value for money instead of walk in.Money isn't the matter of facts but what is the most precious thing that we had or bringing back home is nothing else compared except satisfaction, happiness and of cos the least ”the sweetest memories” and the precious time while spending our holiday. The location, amenities and also tne surrounded environment is really at the BEST spot yet it is a duty free area best for shopping which located right in the hotel mall.Plan to go back there maybe after April this time with my parents....Last but not least thank you so much to all staff for making my stay the most greatest memorable.Jutaan Terimakasih semua!!!! Thumbs up....👍👍👍👍👍

This is the most disgusting hotel I've stayed! Such a waste since the location is perfect. Minutes away from shopping malls, custom and immigration and the night market. Have a stunning view of the causeway and Singapore especially in the evening. Back to the hotel. We arrived late after a long day. Staying just for a night. When we reached the lobby, we were greeted by the receptionist with a smile but at the same time I noticed something is not right. The lobby were unorganised, looks old and smelly. But we'll, I have a very low expectations on this hotel with the room rate that I paid. Never mind, I just want a good rest. Check in process is pretty fast, about less than 5 minutes since everything is prepaid. This time again I felt something is not quite ordinary when the receptionist hand me the air-con remote control. Went to the lift which is next to the reception counter. The area is just like an old shopping mall lift, nothing like hotels lift landing. However the came pretty fast. Once enter the lift, I was so so suprise to see how dirty it was. The real nightmare began when we reach our floor which is on the 14th floor. The carpet along the corridor is supposed to be red in color but it's turn black because of too dirty and no maintainance. It's really disgusting these kind of conditions in the hotel vicinity! It's super super dirty and I don't even know the appropriate words to describe. Walk all the way to my room and I saw 1 major safety issue that the management failed to see. The window and the end on the corridor is widely open! Just imagine if children playing and climb on the window, the resulting be catastrophic! This is truly a super massive issue!!! Enter the room, the size is big with 1 king size and 1 single bed BUT, the condition is even worse than those super cheap B&B!!! Just take a look at the photo attached. It is super disgusting!!!! 1. The trash bin the washroom filled with water and rubbish!!! The floor is dirty with stain everywhere!!! 2. The stain in the bedroom is out of this world, I can't even describe how dirty it is. Let the photo speak for itself. I don't even dare to take off my shoe. 3. The sofa is suitable to be thrown away. 4. The mattress is as hard as brick!! Same goes to the pillow. I don't 100% blame the staff for this condition but rather the management fault. They failed to manage the property properly. I am very sure if Malaysia Hotel association, building safety inspector and ministry of health making a suprise inspection, this building will fail in all areas. My suggestion is, if the management felt that they unable to maintain this hotel, I think it is better to rent/lease or even sell the property to any proper hotel chain.

My husband and i loves this hotel!!! definitely not the last time. Location wise-its just beside the checkpoint. we dont drive so we walked to the hotel and grabbed to and fro where we want to go. its about 5-10mins walk (theres a how to walk on youtube), a little dangerous cause have to walk along the road shoulder but quite easy to go to, not a problem for us. As for grab, might have a jam to return to the hotel cause its the same route to go to checkpoint. Saw theres a shuttle to city square, can consider using the shuttle. But the hotel gives a chill vibe i like how theres not many rooms per floor, almost felt like we are the only ones on our floor which i love. The room was very very clean and size was big. i chose the studio king with sea view, got a glimpse of the sea, most of it is facing the checkpoint, can have live updates from your room hahaaha, doesnt bother us too. Check in and check out was fast and smooth too. facilities- tried the gym (24hrs) which was good enough and we saw theres a laundry room and games room and surau too!!! didnt get to try the pool which opens until 10pm. for breakfast there was quite a good spread and was just nice for us 2. Staffs were very polite, greeted us everytime we entered and left the hotel.

It's a nice hotel. Need a bit of renovation work in the rooms but it's alright for a budget stay. The front desk was friendly. Overall for a night stay, it is okay. Plus its located near paradigm mall.
The Leverage Business Hotel (Skudai)

My second stayed here and breakfast is included if booked directly online. The receptionist and staff are helpful and friendly. The facilities are very complete. Room as per picture .. fast check in/out. Bed are very comfortable. Everything is worth and nice. 24-hrs Indian Muslim food just opposite the hotel. Perfect location. Nearby to Paradigm Mall & Sutera Mall JB. 5 stars facilities with 2 stars price. The room is cosy and very clean. Parking is limited but easy to find behind or surrounding the hotel. A decent buffet style breakfast consists of noodles/nasi lemak, sausages, nuggets, bread with jam & butter, half-boiled eggs, juices, coffee & tea. Better than what I expected. Definitely will stay in this hotel again for my next business trip here! I will return to this hotel for future stay. The location of the hotel is superb, just a ten minute walk away bars and restaurants a plenty, what makes it so special is the way they make you feel very welcome, from cleaning staff, and receptionists a really great team. However, you would be able to hear noise from the street. If you are sensitive to noise or prefer soundproof, suggest to booked the windowless room.

The location is quite strategic. The room is ok with the price that you pay. Room is clean but quite smelly. We requested for iron and they provided the iron together with the board. Very accommodating to us. We believed that the hotels just got renovated cos the aircond worked very well. And all amenities are quite new and working well.
