Station square

The station square is an integral part of China train stations, serving as the first point of contact for passengers arriving at or departing from the station. This square is the main entrance to facilitate smooth transitions between buses, metro, taxis and the train station.

Entrance and security check

The primary entry point for passengers often marked with large signs and located in front of the station. All passengers must pass through security screening, which includes X-ray machines for baggage and metal detectors for personal items.

Waiting and ticketing area

Staffed counters where passengers can buy, change, or refund tickets. Or there are automatic ticket machine for ticket redeeming.

The waiting area includes large seating areas, divided into sections based on ticket class and destination. These areas are equipped with electronic information boards displaying train schedules. For first-class and business-class passengers, VIP lounge offers more premium services.

Platform access

You have to pass the automated or staffed gates by scanning tickets to gain access to the platforms. Then follow the sign to the platform. Platforms are clearly marked with train numbers and destinations to the correct boarding area.

After disembarking, passengers pass through the gates, often requiring a ticket scan to exit. There are areas where arriving passengers gather, and clear signs to transform to metro, bus, or taxis. The hotel is located in the heart of Beijing, near the embassy district, making it convenient for getting around yet surprisingly quiet. Compared to other five-star hotels, Chang Fu Gong offers exceptional value for money. When I booked, I just thought the price was very reasonable for a holiday period, and I was a bit hesitant about the facilities and service. However, my experience after checking in was absolutely amazing. From the doorman to the front desk staff and the lobby manager, every employee consistently maintained a natural and polite smile. It felt genuine and very comfortable. They even offered complimentary snacks during my stay. Despite being in the city center, the hotel has a spacious parking lot, which is very convenient for those driving. The hotel lobby isn't opulent, but it feels incredibly welcoming, perfect for small families. The four elevators operate very efficiently. From the elevators to the guest rooms, the hallway carpets were spotless, which deserves special praise 👍 – it's rare to see an older hotel maintain such cleanliness. Our room wasn't huge, but beyond the standard amenities, several key aspects stood out: the bathroom was very spacious with a comfortable shower, and the toilet was electronically controlled, which is lovely in winter. The room's cabinets had many compartments, perfect for families like ours with lots of small items to organize. In short, the hotel pays great attention to detail. Unfortunately, due to limited time, we couldn't stay longer to experience other hotel services and facilities, including dining. We will definitely choose Chang Fu Gong again when we visit Beijing.

My solo trip was made even better thanks to Capital Hotel. First off, the location is incredibly convenient. It's within walking distance to Tiananmen Square, the National Museum, and the departure point for Mutianyu Great Wall tours from Qianmen. Secondly, the service was excellent. They upgraded my room upon check-in, and every staff member I encountered during my four-day, three-night stay—from the doormen to the housekeeping staff—was incredibly polite, courteous, and enthusiastic. Oh, and when I was too lazy to eat out, ordering takeout was super easy! There are so many great delivery options nearby.

The hotel's location is super convenient; it's just one traffic light away from Line 5, and about a 10-minute walk to Wangfujing commercial area. It's also quite close to attractions like the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square. We stayed in a family room. The first room we entered had a smoky smell, but the staff immediately switched us to another one. The hotel is a bit old, with cracks on the walls in the room, and the TV and toilet facilities are quite dated. On the third day of our stay, it was a family member's birthday, and they thoughtfully prepared a cake for us. The hotel breakfast isn't great value for money. Since we stayed in a suite, adults were 100 RMB and children over 1.2 meters were 50 RMB. There wasn't much variety, so it's better to find some traditional Beijing breakfast nearby. For food delivery, you have to go downstairs to pick it up yourself; there's no robot delivery service. All the staff were very nice, especially the housekeeping team. They were very attentive, especially since we had two children with us.

This stay was fantastic! The hotel's location is super convenient, right outside a shopping district and subway station. The front desk staff were warm and attentive, and check-in was incredibly fast. The room was clean and tidy, the bedding soft and comfortable, and it was so quiet at night that I slept soundly until morning. The breakfast had a great variety of Chinese and Western options, and tasted delicious. I'll definitely choose this place again on my next visit!

Tian'Anmen Square and Wangfujing Area Beijing|0.86km from downtown
1️⃣ The hotel's location is truly unbeatable. Subway Line 2 is right at the entrance, and Tiananmen Square is only about 1.5 km away by bike, making it very convenient for sightseeing. Although it's a bit far from the Summer Palace, the location itself is genuinely great. 2️⃣ Now, about the service. On the night of the 30th, perhaps because the hotel is older, the soundproofing was exceptionally poor. Why do I say exceptionally poor? It was to the point where you could hear conversations from the next room crystal clear. This wasn't a huge issue until a man checked into the room next to us on the night of the 30th. His snoring was so incredibly loud that it was impossible to sleep. It was already past midnight, so I called the front desk. It seemed to be an intern who answered, and they very pleasantly moved us to another room, which was an upgraded room with an outer window. However, after the switch, the upgraded room was actually a bit smaller than the original one we were in. Since I had a 30-inch suitcase, it was quite cramped and difficult to move around once opened. Also, the room lacked an air purifier. All in all, the upgraded room was significantly less comfortable than the original one. I asked the intern at the front desk if they could offer a complimentary breakfast as compensation, but perhaps the intern didn't have the authority, so they didn't agree. A few minutes later, the lobby manager called, explained the differences in the upgraded room, apologized, offered a complimentary breakfast, and arranged for housekeeping to deliver an air purifier and a humidifier (they initially sent the wrong item, so comrade Jianjun from housekeeping had to make two trips at such a late hour, which I felt very bad about, but comrade Jianjun's attitude was consistently good and not impatient at all, and I really want to praise him for that). (The room was a bit warm, and I asked the front desk several times if there was a way to alleviate it. One reason was the central air conditioning, and the other was the in-room AC. Even after turning off the in-room AC, it was still very stuffy, and no other solutions were offered. However, the lobby manager on duty on the night of the 30th suggested bringing a humidifier, which felt very thoughtful. Overall, the solutions were very comforting). The room is a bit old, given its age, but most of the staff are very enthusiastic, and transportation is convenient. I would still choose this hotel next time I visit Beijing.

A truly pleasant surprise and excellent value for money! The service here is exceptional. My family and I stayed for 4 nights straight. **Facilities:** Modern. **Cleanliness:** The cleaning staff are incredibly diligent. They even folded our clothes! My own comb broke during our stay, and the cleaner quietly fixed it for me – that was a lovely surprise. **Environment:** Superb! The subway entrance is just over 100 meters away, and it's within two stops of Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, and the Temple of Heaven, making getting around incredibly convenient. There are also plenty of malls and restaurants nearby, so dining is easy. What's more, despite being in such a convenient location, it's surprisingly quiet. The windows must be well soundproofed because you can't hear any traffic noise at night. The view from the window also offers a lovely modern city vibe. **Service:** This is definitely the biggest highlight. The front desk staff are incredibly attentive. For our last night, it was New Year's Eve, and we couldn't book a twin room, so we ended up with a king-sized bed. We were bracing ourselves for the hassle of switching rooms, but the front desk staff quietly paid attention to this detail. When a twin room became available, they called us to ask if we wanted to switch. This kind of extra service, truly thinking from the customer's perspective, deserves huge praise! 👍👍👍

Really great hotel in an excellent location. However, the fact that it was disclosed very late that it was no longer a Novotel was misleading. This brand change didn’t happen overnight, yet I wasn’t advised until about one week before my check in. I paid for a brand name Novotel. I couldn’t use any Novotel member benefits as a result. Aside from that, the rooms are in dire need of a renovation. However, staff and service was excellent.

My patience completely ran out after dealing with the check-in for the first room, then the second – how can a 'five-star' hotel front desk be so torturous to guests? I had planned a relaxing weekend with my elderly parents and children, but instead, I endured a humiliating check-in process at your hotel's front desk. No matter how good the facilities are, they can't make up for the damage caused by terrible service. Here are the awful experiences for both rooms: 1. **First Room: Extremely inefficient and already rude.** During the check-in for the first room, the front desk staff was incredibly slow and absent-minded, especially when entering guest information. What was even more baffling was that she sat in front of the computer but asked *us* to write down our names, only realizing what the names were after we showed her! Do they not understand basic Chinese?! Her face also showed complete impatience. At a five-star hotel, don't front desk staff even have the basic knowledge to input a guest's name? 2. **Second Room: Deliberate delays and insulting an elderly person.** According to policy, check-in should be available by 2 PM, but there was no news about the second room. My elderly parent politely went up to inquire, and the front desk again thrust a piece of paper at them, coldly demanding they write their name themselves. —A young, able-bodied staff member unwilling to write, yet making a seventy-year-old person bend over to write – what kind of service logic is this? Is showing disdain to an elder the way your hotel treats guests? 3. **Problem only resolved when conflict erupted.** There were clearly vacant rooms, yet they deliberately delayed; they could have easily helped, yet they chose to make it difficult for my elderly parent. It wasn't until my parent was forced to get angry, drawing the attention of other staff, that someone came to mediate and promptly arranged the room. We can't help but wonder: if we hadn't protested loudly, would we have waited indefinitely? Did the front desk intentionally discriminate and pick on guests? This experience left us feeling doubly hurt: * **Time wasted**: For two rooms, a significant amount of unnecessary waiting and negotiation time was spent. * **Dignity trampled**: Especially the disrespect shown to my elderly parent, which was disheartening and infuriating. If a hotel's front desk can't even manage basic efficiency, respect, and empathy, then even the best facilities seem disingenuous. Traveling with elderly parents and children is already difficult; we chose a five-star hotel for peace of mind and comfort, but instead, we got extra exhaustion and a heavy heart. I strongly advise other family guests: If you expect at least basic respect and smooth service, please choose this hotel with caution – the front desk here might give you two 'how to treat guests coldly' practical lessons during the check-in process for two rooms. We have truthfully documented this experience and hope the hotel management will seriously address the severe shortcomings in front desk service. Don't let cold faces tarnish your brand. To be fair, the breakfast and kids' club were good, and all other staff were excellent, but the front desk! Absolutely speechless!

The Regent Beijing is perfectly located in Wangfujing, close to major attractions like the Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, the National Museum, Temple of Heaven, and Beihai Park, all accessible by foot or shared bike. The Dengshikou subway station is right outside the hotel, making travel by metro incredibly convenient. The staff were all very kind and welcoming. Our high-floor room offered views of the Forbidden City and Jingshan Park. Waking up to the sights along the central axis in the morning was incredibly pleasant, and we also enjoyed beautiful sunsets in the evening. The breakfast was also very generous, featuring a variety of both Chinese and Western dishes, including some Beijing local snacks. I would definitely choose to stay here again on my next trip to Beijing, especially if I'm exploring the central axis area.

Came here to play with ice and snow, but the ice park was closed, but the snow park was. Came here with children and the elderly, and booked a suite and standard room in the VIP building. The VIP building is newly renovated, the environment is very good, the lobby is large and grand, but there are relatively few guests, even on weekends. You have to drive to another building to eat and soak in the hot springs, which is a bit far to walk, and the snow park is closer to the dining place. It is worth praising that the staff of the snow park have a good attitude, a good experience, and everyone is very enthusiastic. It is worth complaining about the toilet in the snow park, which is a simple one, cold and unclean. There is only one, and you have to queue. It would be better if the snow park opened a few cafes with better environment. There is a small beverage shop with a very bad environment, which is very crowded. The elderly were sitting inside waiting for us to play with snow, but later they felt uncomfortable and went back to the hotel room. . . It is close to the city, and it takes more than an hour to drive there. . .

This hotel is great for a weekend getaway with kids. Juyongguan Great Wall and Shuiguan Great Wall are nearby, with Shuiguan Great Wall being closer and less crowded, though a bit challenging to climb. The hotel is nestled in the mountains, offering a pleasant environment with individual villas dotted up the hillside. Our room was quite far, so we needed to drive to the lobby and restaurant. The hotel also offers many family-friendly activities. On our second morning, we participated in a valley hike, which was essentially a mountain climb – it requires some stamina. There were also quite a few downsides. Given how spread out the rooms are and how far they are from the lobby, one would expect butler service, but there was none. Moreover, it was very difficult to get through to the front desk from the room phone. For a self-proclaimed 'family-friendly hotel,' there weren't even children's slippers in the room. After finally getting through on the phone, it took an hour for them to be delivered. Why weren't they provided directly at check-in when they saw we had a child? The room itself was fairly large, but the bathroom lacked air conditioning/heating, and the shower was open-concept. This design might be fine in Sanya, but in Yanqing, showering at night was absolutely freezing. There was also water pooling, and when staff came to check, they said it was because the floor drain was too high, and nothing could be done, which was a bit frustrating. We had two meals at the hotel restaurant; the food was good, albeit a bit pricey. We also ate at a farmhouse restaurant down the mountain where the iron pot stewed fish was delicious – I forgot its name, but it had “Tell Old Mo I want to eat fish” written on the wall. Despite the downsides, it's still a good place for a weekend with kids. The hotel has an outdoor pool and a children's splash pool, which were closed due to the cold weather. We'll definitely bring the kids back in the summer.

Having spent considerable time in the vicinity of the International Club, International Building, Japanese Embassy, Associated Press, and Ritan Park, I'm very familiar with this area. The hotel is strategically located just off Chang'an Avenue, at No. 21 Jianguomenwai Avenue, Chaoyang District, Beijing. It's situated in the heart of the CBD, adjacent to Chang'an Avenue and the Embassy District. Jianguomen subway station is a mere 7-minute walk away, and iconic landmarks like Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City are just a few blocks from the hotel. It also offers convenient access to vibrant shopping and entertainment hubs such as Guomao, Wangfujing, and Sanlitun. I myself spent nearly a decade working in the International Building. Upon entering the lobby, its high ceilings and grand, pillarless design create a truly magnificent impression. The suites are thoughtfully laid out and exude an elegant, classic charm. A serene garden with a gentle flowing fountain enhances the overall sophisticated ambiance. Despite opening in 1997, the facilities are comprehensive, and the environment, cleanliness, and service all maintain a first-class standard. The standout feature is the unforgettable butler service; the personalized, one-on-one attention makes you feel right at home. The 24-hour comprehensive butler team provides exceptional service, anticipating and fulfilling every guest's need. Our butlers, Jasmine, Parker, Alex, and Bradley, orchestrated a series of unique experiences, including the St. Regis's classic traditional ritual of champagne sabrage. This spectacular event took place in the gallery of the Danielli Italian Restaurant on the hotel's second floor, where guests collectively raised their glasses, savored exquisite champagne, and celebrated. The sabered champagne cork was then presented as a cherished keepsake. Dylan Zhao and Candie (灿灿) went above and beyond, waiting for our return even after we came back late from a football match at Workers' Stadium. As we opened the door, they were already there, ready to welcome us home with comforting warm honey-lemon water and hot peppermint Earl Grey tea, perfectly prepared for optimal flavor. Their handwritten cards were also a thoughtful touch, now treasured keepsakes. They truly made our St. Regis night wonderful, cozy, and unforgettable. While there's so much more I wish to express, my feelings at this moment are truly beyond words, deeply etched in my heart. This unforgettable St. Regis experience will forever be etched in my memory. I look forward to returning on August 25, 2025. My sincerest thanks once again to The St. Regis Hotel for everything.

This was my second stay, and it was just as excellent as the first. Our butler, Tracy Zhang Xi, was incredibly responsive and provided thoughtful service. We initially had a different room than what we booked, but she promptly arranged a satisfactory change for us. She even helped us find an Ethernet cable and an HDMI cable, which was a huge plus. The hot springs at Haiwan Banshan are built into the mountainside, and the beautiful scenery is a definite advantage. There are over 10 different types of pools, each with a great view. However, I wouldn't recommend it if you're looking for extreme privacy, luxury, or a dedicated water play area for children. The kids' play area at Haiwan Banshan is quite large. Among 5-star hotels in Beijing with hot springs, only Club Med, Badaling Jinyu, and Xishan Hot Spring Blue Parrot probably offer bigger and more entertaining options. The suite was spacious, and the facilities were undeniably 5-star quality when compared to similar hotels. The only downside was the slightly higher price during holiday periods. The Ethernet port on the desk was fake; to get a wired connection, you had to use the port behind the bedroom TV, which was about 5 meters away. The butler could only find a 2-meter cable, which was a bit inconvenient for guests who need to work during their stay. I didn't get to try the Bian stone sweat steaming at the wellness center as too many people had booked it. The indoor air dome sports field is also very large, offering basketball, badminton, and table tennis, all of which require reservations. There's also a small outdoor ice rink where you can ice skate or play on ice sleds.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay at Park Plaza Beijing Wangfujing from 20-30 December 2025. The hotel is a 25-minute walk away from the main shopping belt at Wangfujing. With convenience shops and eateries nearby. The staff here were marvellous, from the front desk staff who helped us with the bookings of local attractions when we couldn’t figure out how to use WeChat. They also advised us which places needed advance booking and those you can purchase on the spot. A real extra value-added service. A particular staff member stood out. Mr Wang Yue Long, who is the concierge, handled our incoming Taobao and food delivery directly to the room via a robot. His smile and positive attitude really made us feel at home. We will definitely recommend this hotel.

This hotel truly is my favorite. I stayed here back in 2017 when I first visited Beijing and found it incredibly convenient. This time, I'm back with my child, and I still think it's the perfect choice for a trip to Beijing! 1️⃣ Let's start with the location: It's about a 500-meter walk from Wangfujing subway station. Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, and Wangfujing Pedestrian Street are all within walking distance – it's just so convenient! What's even better is that despite being in such a central location, getting a taxi or a ride-sharing car is super easy, with a row of cars always available right outside the entrance 🚗. 2️⃣ Surrounding environment: The hotel is a quiet oasis in a bustling area. Next door is WFJ Joy City, and across the street is Oriental Plaza, offering a complete experience for shopping, dining, and entertainment. Delivery services are incredibly fast; I had a package delivered to my door in just 15 minutes. 3️⃣ Room facilities: We had a one-bedroom apartment with a living room, two bathrooms, one shower room, and a spacious round bathtub. It felt incredibly roomy. For guests staying multiple days, there's a drum washing machine and a fully equipped kitchen, which was especially comforting and convenient, especially with a child. 4️⃣ Hotel service: The ladies at the front desk were all super enthusiastic, always accommodating, and quick to respond to any requests. I particularly want to commend the cleaning auntie on the 7th floor – I forgot to ask her name, but she was truly nice, thoughtful, and meticulous. All in all, it was a very satisfying trip, and I've already recommended it to all my friends!

The hotel room was spacious and bright. Other than the slightly outdated facilities, I had no complaints. The front desk staff, Xiao Fang, even arranged a room with a bathtub, which was great for easing my fatigue. The restaurant was elegant and upscale; if you're not in a hurry, you can enjoy an afternoon tea there and soak in the serene atmosphere away from the hustle and bustle. I would definitely choose this hotel again if I'm ever back in the area!

The room was very quiet, and the hotel's interior design was quite pleasant. The service was excellent; there was always someone to help with luggage when we entered and left, and they even opened the car door for us. When we were leaving in a hurry, a staff member helped us load our luggage into the car, which was a huge help. Later, I realized I'd left something behind, and the hotel was able to mail it to me, which made for a really great experience overall.

This was our second stay at the hotel. We had a fantastic experience last year, and our child insisted we return to the Waldorf this year. The breakfast quality is top-notch, the swimming pool is exquisite and private, and the rooms feature a king-sized bed (two meters), making it great value for families with children. Every staff member we encountered was highly professional, attractive, and easy to communicate with, providing meticulous and thoughtful service. Special thanks to Helen, Willow, and Judy, as well as a lovely young lady at the swimming pool reception who I believe was named Julie. They made our stay even more reassuring and heartwarming. I genuinely love the hotel's understated old-money aesthetic and artistic ambiance; it's a hotel with a lot of character. A truly worthwhile trip!

Stepping into a 'Chinese Aesthetic Utopia'! My stay at Shangri-La Beijing was a flawless experience, from the heartwarming service to the culinary feast, I was completely captivated. First, a huge shout-out to Ms. Yuan Xiaofan at the front desk! As soon as I arrived, I was impressed by her professionalism and thoughtfulness. She remembered my accommodation preferences and even sent welcome fruits, which truly warmed my heart. Later, when I wanted to extend my check-out time, she quickly and efficiently arranged it. Her smile was always gentle and appropriate, never overly enthusiastic or pushy, just the right amount of attentiveness that instantly dispelled any initial unfamiliarity and made a fantastic first impression. And the room was full of delightful surprises! As a clean freak, the first thing I do is check the cleanliness – the bedding was spotless and odorless, no dust in the corners, the bathroom had a separate wet and dry area, and the vanity was pristine, not even a single water mark on the mirror. A detail-oriented person's dream come true! The decor blended contemporary design with an Asian flair, adorned with exquisite artwork. The warm yellow lighting on the wooden furniture, coupled with the garden view outside the window, created an elegant and cozy ambiance. What really touched me was the bedside fragrance, which was consistent with the lobby's iconic scent – fresh and not overpowering. Paired with the soft bedding, I enjoyed a wonderful night's sleep until dawn. The New Year's Day festive atmosphere was simply fantastic! From the hotel entrance to the lobby, carefully arranged New Year's Day flower baskets were everywhere. The red and gold flowers, adorned with pine branches and lanterns, exuded both traditional Chinese festivity and the sophistication of a high-end hotel. You didn't even need to find the perfect angle for photos; every snap turned out to be a New Year masterpiece. Especially the giant flower basket in the center of the lobby, a perfect fusion of traditional aesthetics and festive cheer, making you feel the rich New Year's spirit and sense of occasion the moment you walked in. The dining experience was truly god-tier! The fruitwood roasted duck at Shang Palace is a must-try; the skin was so crispy you could hear it crackle when you bit into it. Wrapped in a thin pancake with sweet bean sauce, the rich aroma of the fat mixed with the fruitwood flavor was incredibly satisfying. The crispy garlic chicken had a golden, crispy skin and incredibly tender, juicy meat inside, with a rich garlic flavor that wasn't greasy. The buffet restaurant offered an even wider selection – unlimited fresh and springy lobsters, beautifully marbled Japanese sashimi, and creamy Italian Robella ice cream, each bite a moment of pure happiness. The dining environment was also superb; the carved partitions in Shang Palace paired with warm lighting created a classic Chinese ambiance that naturally encouraged you to slow down and savor the moment. The sense of ceremony was absolutely perfect. As a well-established five-star hotel, Shangri-La Beijing's quality never disappoints – clean and comfortable rooms, a wonderfully festive atmosphere, a feast for the taste buds, and the heartwarming service from Ms. Yuan Xiaofan, all made this New Year's trip an unforgettable memory.

Overall, I'm quite satisfied. Although there was a notice in the room about hotel maintenance, it didn't actually cause any inconvenience. There were two things I wasn't too happy about. First, the soundproofing in the room wasn't great. Either that, or the kid next door was just incredibly loud. They were shouting in the afternoon, still shouting when I got back to the hotel after 11 PM, and then started again around 8 AM on Sunday – better than an alarm clock! The other thing was that after finishing my meal in the room in the afternoon, I wanted to call for someone to pick up the trays. The call went to an automated customer service. I explained my request, and the AI said it understood. However, no one came to collect them until I was about to leave around 6 PM. Luckily, a staff member came to do the turndown service and took them away for me.

The Courtyard Two-Bedroom was truly excellent, a peaceful oasis in a bustling area. Our housekeeper, Danika, contacted us back in late September and helped us prepare delicious fruits and Forbidden City-themed desserts. The biggest surprise was the anniversary cake she arranged for us! The room was on the second floor with a fantastic view. Our family of four enjoyed watching TV in the living room – the screen mirroring was very convenient – while sipping tea and snacking on desserts. It felt so cozy and like home! Breakfast could be delivered to the room. Judy, the breakfast staff, was incredibly warm and enthusiastic, helping us take photos and showing great patience 👍. Having breakfast in the courtyard was a unique experience! Many thanks to Danika for her kind service; she responded instantly to messages and was very responsible and dedicated in her work 👍👍! I was visiting relatives in Shanghai and didn't want to trouble them with arrangements, so I just picked a hotel close to Nanjing Road. I'm really satisfied and highly recommend it to everyone. Here's why: 1. **Excellent Location:** After a long day of exploring Nanjing Road, my partner and I were exhausted, so it was super convenient to just walk 200 meters back to the hotel. 2. **Outstanding Service:** The service was impeccable. Ms. Starry Cui at the front desk was so warm and generous, and another gentleman who checked us in was also very polite. They even upgraded us to a suite, which we really appreciate! 3. **Fantastic Food Options Nearby:** There are so many delicious places to eat close by, including white-cut chicken, yakitori, and Cantonese cuisine, all within 100 meters of the hotel. It was great to have a few drinks and then just head straight back to our room. 4. **Thoughtful Concierge:** The concierge was very attentive to the elderly in our group, which I really appreciated and added a lot to our positive experience. 5. **Classic 5-Star Room:** The room had a standard 5-star setup with a somewhat retro feel and a bathtub, which my partner absolutely loved.

Convenient location to business buildings and tourist attractions. Just 2km or so to Nanjing Pedestrian Road. But, nothing much is opened before 10am near hotel. So, if you're looking for breakfast before 10am, you might need to travel a little further. There's a convenience store just underneath the hotel. However, for my room on 9th floor, every now and then, there's sewage stench coming from the vent, possibly from the toilet of the unit above? It lasted several minutes. That's the main issue with the unit. Otherwise, I had comfortable sleep and I appreciate the kitchen and washing machine in the room.

The front desk staff were warm and helpful during check-in and check-out, making for a pleasant experience. The room cards have a sleek design with a matte, non-slip backing that feels good to the touch. We were given two cards, which was convenient for separate entry and exit, and the power-saving card was already inserted in the room, so no extra steps were needed. Breakfast offered a wide variety of options, with separate Chinese and Western sections that you could choose from freely. However, the two sections were a bit far apart, requiring a walk back and forth if you wanted to get items from both. We booked an Executive Bund View King Room (on floors 25-30) and were assigned a corner room on the 26th floor. The room was spacious and very clean. The wardrobe had plenty of hangers, easily accommodating four outfits, and there was even space on the left for ironing. However, there were a few drawbacks: a moth flew out from behind the headboard as I approached it, some facilities seemed a bit dated, and the indoor lighting was a bit dim. Additionally, despite being called a “Bund View Room,” the window primarily faced the city, with only a small section near the TV wall offering a view of the Bund and the Oriental Pearl TV Tower. Furthermore, the curtain on the right side was fixed at the top and could only be pulled towards the corner, meaning the section by the TV wall couldn't be opened. To enjoy the Bund night view, I had to walk behind the curtain or manually pull it aside, which made the viewing experience somewhat inconvenient.

I come to Shanghai every two or three months, and I always stay here. **Ambiance:** The red maple leaves in the garden have turned, and they're so beautiful. It truly lives up to its reputation as a Japanese-managed hotel; even the environmental details have that special touch. This is why I love this hotel. Plus, the express checkout is super convenient. **Service:** This time, I felt the service quality had declined a bit. I called for things to my room twice and had to wait a long time, then call to follow up. Especially when the room heating wasn't enough, I was freezing while waiting. Later, the housekeeper proactively brought an extra blanket. However, as a loyal guest, I didn't feel a special sense of belonging. **Facilities:** The remote control by the bed is really difficult to use. The settings jump around, and it's hard to tell what you're adjusting. It's usually fine, but in winter, the room temperature just wouldn't go up. It was truly freezing. **Breakfast:** Still delicious.

The hotel’s location is very good. It is about a 5-minute walk to a huge Starbucks, Nanjing West Road, the MRT station, and Wujiang Road, which has several nice bakeries and food options. This made getting around very convenient. There was also a 7-11 just across the road. However, the Premier Two-Bedroom Suite was disappointing for the price paid. The rooms are rather small, especially the master bedroom, where there was not enough space to place or open any luggage. We had to keep our luggage in the living room instead. The bathroom, particularly the shower area, looked very dated. The tiles appeared old and there was a musty smell, which was unpleasant. Another inconvenience was that the light switches were only on one side of the bed, making it very inconvenient to switch off the lights from the other side. The kitchenette was also very small. Cutlery was stored in a drawer above the bin, which was not ideal, and there were no extra plates provided. The tiles looked old with visible cracks, and some of the drawers were faulty. Overall, the room did not feel premium and felt overpriced for what was offered. The hotel rooms clearly need a glow-up to match the Kempinski brand and the rates charged. Additionally, the reception area was undergoing renovation, with no seating or waiting area. The pick-up and drop-off driveway is very narrow, only a small lane. When loading our luggage, we had to do so very quickly as other cars were waiting. The driveway would benefit from being more spacious. While the location is excellent, the room condition, layout, and facilities did not meet expectations for a Premier suite.

If you are thirsty, you can go downstairs at any time to have some drinks and fruits, which are all included in the hotel package. Why the deduction? Like many reviews wrote, the water in the pool here is really too hot. It is the hottest of all the hot springs in Shanghai that I have been to. It feels too hot. I saw that several children could hardly soak in the water for a while. I don’t know why so many people complained. I saw that the management was still saying in the comments that it met the hot spring temperature requirements. What they said is that your water is too hot, and they are giving you suggestions. Everyone in the hot spring said that the water was hot, not that you violated any regulations... It takes talent to reply like this

Location: Situated in the Jin Mao Tower in Pudong, the hotel boasts an excellent location among Shanghai's tallest buildings. We checked in at the sky lobby on the 54th floor. It was snowing that day, with snow high up and rain on the ground, so this was the only place we could see the snowflakes. Facilities: The elevators were quiet and fast. The room facilities were well-maintained, which is impressive for a hotel that's been open this long. The bedding was comfortable and very warm, especially with the low temperatures these past two days. Service: Umbrellas were provided on rainy days, and the doorman proactively opened car doors. In the evening, there was live music at the Cloud 9 bar on the top floor, and all the staff greeted us warmly. Overall, I really loved it. The location is superb, and they even upgraded our room to a higher floor. I'll definitely choose Grand Hyatt again next time I'm in Shanghai.

I checked in on the evening of January 16th and could see the Peace Hotel's green emerald roof from afar, which was quite dazzling and spectacular. Every staff member at the hotel was incredibly warm, meticulous, and thoughtful, speaking softly and making me feel like a spring breeze. The front desk proactively upgraded my room. Upon entering, I found the air conditioning already turned on to a comfortable temperature, slippers placed by the bed, and a welcome fruit platter prepared. It truly felt like a home away from home. The performance by the elderly jazz band was fantastic; the singer had a beautiful voice and great audience interaction. The bartender provided excellent service, flexibly adapting to individual requests. The bar had a great atmosphere, and I loved the song request segment; it got even better as the night went on. The breakfast at the Jasmine restaurant on the morning of the 17th was also excellent, with both Chinese and Western options available. I particularly recommend the smoked salmon; it was perfectly marinated and served with a mild Dijon mustard that wasn't overpowering or spicy. Overall, it was a wonderful experience!

I've always wanted to visit the InterContinental Shanghai Wonderland, and finally got to take my kids for a two-day trip during their school break. It was a fantastic experience. I was pleasantly surprised to learn about the butler service a day before arrival. Our butler, Bruce, was incredibly attentive, from arranging our room to recommending activities and dining options. He struck the perfect balance of being helpful without being intrusive, making us feel very comfortable. The InterContinental brand definitely lives up to its reputation; I'll choose them again next time. **Amenities:** The garment steamer in the room was incredibly useful! **Cleanliness:** Despite being a lakeside room, it was very dry and comfortable. **Environment:** I loved gazing out at the beautiful scenery from the window – so relaxing. **Service:** Every staff member we encountered was responsive and spoke gently and kindly. Traveling with an 8-month-old baby means having more needs, and the breakfast restaurant staff were incredibly patient. The staff at the Fishermen's Wharf restaurant were also very patient.

The room I stayed in this time was at the end of the corridor, but it was on a mid-to-lower floor, which meant the view was a bit limited and it was a bit noisy. The lighting fixtures in the room showed that the hotel has been around for a while, and renovations are slow, as evidenced by the peeling and damaged wallpaper. In-room entertainment was quite basic, with only regular TV channels available and no screen mirroring or on-demand features. However, the staff's attitude was commendable; they promptly replaced missing linens. A special thanks to the cleaning lady on the 15th floor. As for the executive lounge, the afternoon tea selection was rather limited, offering only three types of pastries and three types of fruit, and the quality was just average. I recommend further improving both the hotel's facilities and services.

This is our re-visit of the hotel. I don’t know why, but it just felt homey instantly (usually it will take me a night to get used to the room), it’s just comfortable with peaceful ambiance and soft lighting. The breakfast was amazing and it really helped to start our day in a pleasant way! We also had a pleasant interaction with the room-service robot who delivered bottle water to our room twice 😄 You just had to try it!!! too bad I couldn’t hug the robot 😄 I also like the Hotel’s good and combined use of technology and human service. I called from the room to ask for bottle water, and it was answered by a lady who said they will send a Robot to deliver. (In another hotel, I also made a call from the room with a small request, but it was an auto answer where you had to talk to a machine and dial the numbers when prompted, which often ended in frustration). Other than that, just one suggestion, I thought the quality of the toiletries and slippers provided could be better compared to the peer hotels, yea, especially for the slippers, they felt too synthetic compared to the slippers from the other two hotels I stayed at during this travel. Overall, great stay, pleasant experience and will revisit!

My friend recommended this hotel when I visited Guangzhou. The room was comfortable, and I didn't have to go far for dim sum; the Chinese restaurant on the fourth floor was very convenient. It's also close to the East Railway Station subway, the environment is pleasant, and it really has that classic, established hotel feel. I ordered fried dough sticks, chicken feet, spare ribs, and shrimp dumplings, and everything was delicious. The shrimp dumplings had thin skin and generous filling, with fresh, springy shrimp. The chicken feet were tender and fell right off the bone, the spare ribs were flavorful, and the fried dough sticks were crispy and light, cutting through any richness perfectly. The quality from this star-rated hotel is consistently excellent, the ingredients are good, and it offers pretty good value for money. The service was also attentive, making it ideal for hotel guests to dine here!

The front desk attendant that day upgraded my room type, gave me a doll, and offered complimentary soft drinks at the lobby bar. Thank you so much! Thanks to Trip.com for the recommendation! 🙏 I've just checked out and I'm extremely satisfied. I checked in on January 5th with the help of Betty and stayed until February 6th. I originally booked for just one night, but thanks to Betty, I was upgraded to a high-floor suite. I loved the room so much that I ended up staying for a whole month, navigating various booking apps to extend my stay. When checking out, the front desk manager, Mancey, prevented a cowboy-hat-wearing guest from cutting in line, maintaining order and showing me respect. As a top-tier Trip.com customer, whose annual travel spending beats 99% of customers online, I've often experienced staff holding onto my deposit for room checks at other hotels when checking out. However, Mancey, with 100% trust in guests ❤️, refunded my deposit in less than 30 seconds. This is a stark contrast to that luxury hotel upstairs at Taikoo Hui. During my stay, I visited the Waterfall Restaurant on the first floor, the Lychee Bay Restaurant on the second, the Peach Blossom Chinese Restaurant on the third, and the revolving restaurant on the thirtieth floor every few days, as well as the fitness center 💓, the Garden Club, and the executive lounge. Every single staff member left a deep impression on me. They were impeccably dressed, elegant in their demeanor, and most importantly, their fingernails were short and neat, making me feel at ease every time they handed me cutlery. Gina, in particular, had an exceptionally good attitude. Finally, I want to share something magical. Once, while returning to my room, I inadvertently caught a glimpse of the peach tree next to the elevator on the third floor, sparkling. Out of curiosity, I made a wish. What hadn't come true for years actually came true in those few days! I wish everyone who reads this review the same luck and prosperity as me.

The China Hotel is indeed massive, and you can definitely feel its old-school five-star charm as soon as you walk in. The staff are very friendly, and there are quite a few international guests. The breakfast buffet is a great mix of Chinese and Western options, with plenty of variety. There are also several other restaurants within the hotel, offering both Chinese and Western cuisine. If you're tired after a day of sightseeing, you can just pick one for dinner and even get a discount by quoting your room number. My room, possibly because it was on a high floor, didn't have openable windows. In December, the room felt stuffy and warm, so I had to keep the fresh air system on; otherwise, I wouldn't have been able to sleep. The showerhead was a long, rectangular shape with great water pressure. However, you couldn't adjust the up and down angle. If it weren't for the wall directly in front, it could spray much further, so I had to stand very close to the wall to shower. This was truly a first for me.

**Service:** The staff were very warm and welcoming. We received a complimentary room upgrade, and all services were very attentive. They even helped deliver takeout food to our room, and arranged for a shuttle to take us directly to our room upon arrival. **Environment:** The hotel is sprawling, with a beautiful garden estate ambiance. Guest rooms are spread across individual villas and standalone buildings. Getting around is convenient; you can call for a shuttle from your room phone to any point on the property, or simply enjoy a leisurely stroll. **Facilities:** The hotel is well-equipped with a gym, two swimming pools, a hot spring, and a children's playground – perfect for a weekend getaway where you can make full use of all the amenities. The rooms are spacious, though some of the in-room facilities felt a bit dated, they were still clean. **Hygiene:** The cleanliness was decent. While you could spot some signs of wear and tear, it wasn't dirty. Being a hotel nestled in a forested area, it's not uncommon to occasionally see small critters like spiders or snails, but keeping the screen windows closed largely resolves any concerns. **Overall:** This hotel is highly recommended for a weekend getaway, a family vacation, a romantic escape for couples, or even a solo retreat to simply switch off and relax.

Bijushuiwan has many hot spring pools, and quite a few of them are unique. My favorites were the ginger pool and the muscle-relaxing pool; the herbal scent was quite strong. There were also plenty of stone slab beds, so no need to worry about finding a spot. Plus, they have a fish spa! 🤗 The hotel is right next to the Liuxi River, and a stroll along the riverbank is very pleasant. For breakfast, they even had handmade pulled noodles with generous chunks of beef brisket! 😀 They also offered rice noodle rolls; I tried the pork and egg one with added green onions and vegetables – it was delicious. Many dim sum items commonly found at morning tea were also available. What I appreciated most was their selection of floral teas; there were so many varieties, and the lavender one was especially flavorful. It would be great if they could set up a few tables outside in the open air, as it gets quite crowded and it can be hard to find a spot for breakfast, and most tables are large round ones where you have to share.

My room was a luxurious suite with private bath tub (around hkd 3000 for two nights including breakfast). Hardware is definitely exceptional. However when it comes to service it is below standard: 1) front desk - service was poor without any greetings such as bell boy. Front desk officers were unhappy without any eye contact when they talk to you. No hospitality at all; 2) breakfast - the quality both food and service were not up to a 4 or 5 star service. Table was not clean, staffs were almost unfriendly, except one female manager and one staff, all staffs were rushing their task and unwelcoming. I believe the hotel management need to motivate their staff ,otherwise, people won’t come again. 3) Amnenties - room is a luxurious suite with private bath tub, massage chair, kitchen , dining table and queen bed. The tub was not very clean, with water splitting . Such a waste as their service was not meeting the standard of what it is expected to be a 5- star resort. (The environment, garden were nicely decorated indeed) The Hot Spring pool is well known but I have’s try so cannot comment. I won’t come to this resort again, if the service of the hotel haven’t improved. And I won’t recommend travelers with kids who is looking for a family friendly and good service resort. Highly recommend this hotel for early morning flights! Its location is unbeatable for an airport hotel – just a 3-minute walk directly to Terminal 1. For Terminal 2, there's a free shuttle bus every 20 minutes, so there's no need to worry even if you arrive late at night. Plus, Metro Line 3 is right nearby, making travel to and from the city super convenient. The breakfast is also fantastic; you can grab a hot meal as early as 5:30 AM before catching your shuttle to T2. The room was clean and tidy, and the double-pane windows did an excellent job of blocking out airport noise. It was the best night's sleep I've had during this entire business trip. The staff were warm and attentive, and the check-in and check-out process was efficient throughout. I'll definitely choose this hotel again for my next layover!

I usually stay at the Four Seasons in Shenzhen, but occasionally when I'm in Guangzhou, I'll stay at the Guangzhou Four Seasons. It's located inside the Guangzhou International Finance Center (IFC) building, commonly known as the West Tower, as K11 is in the East Tower. The views are absolutely stunning! I also really love the room decor; you can enjoy the panoramic views of Guangzhou while soaking in the bathtub. The service at the Four Seasons is consistently excellent. The front desk staff are incredibly efficient and professional. I especially want to commend the bellhop who guided me – he was very engaging and exuded a real sense of passion, which was great! The room cleaning was also excellent, and they even thoughtfully placed a mouse pad, which was a nice touch. Hotel parking is very convenient, with a direct elevator to the 70th-floor lobby. I also recommend the Italian dessert shop on the first floor; it's very authentic! I look forward to my next stay!

My last stay at the Hotel Landmark Canton was about 25 years ago! Formerly known as the Overseas Chinese Mansion, it's an absolute landmark in Guangzhou, known by every old-timer. It's right by the Pearl River, just a 5-minute walk to Tianzi Wharf where you can catch a Pearl River night cruise and admire the beautiful scenery on both banks. The hotel's river-view rooms offer fantastic views of the Canton Tower. It's also super convenient to get around, with Beijing Road Pedestrian Street only a 12-minute walk away, and just a few minutes' walk from Exit F of Haizhu Square Metro Station. The hotel itself has two Cantonese restaurants, and there are tons of other dining options nearby, making meals incredibly easy. Taking an evening stroll along the river is lovely, and Haizhu Square and its surroundings are a must-visit spot for night views in Guangzhou! This hotel offers excellent value for money and is highly recommended.

We chose a Shangri-La river view room for New Year's Eve. The night view of the river was absolutely stunning and captivating. The hotel's environment exuded elegance and tranquility everywhere, completely shielding us from the outside world's hustle and bustle, making us feel incredibly comfortable the moment we stepped in. The breakfast spread was lavish, with an impressive array of both Chinese and Western options, and everything was delicious. Enjoying a delightful breakfast with the river view outside the window made the first day of the new year exceptionally pleasant and fulfilling.

The room was very comfortable, and the guest relations staff provided excellent service. I had an issue with the screen mirroring in my room, and a very helpful and enthusiastic technician came to assist me. He patiently tried to fix it, and when it couldn't be resolved, he even brought me an external screen mirroring device. However, what really bothered me was the afternoon tea staff. Their service felt unprofessional, and their attitude was quite poor. When I asked a question, I was met with a cold expression and a dismissive tone, which made me feel very uncomfortable. When I tried to order, they just walked past me, muttering ”wait a moment.” I was truly stunned. I really hope they provide better training for the afternoon tea department staff. When checking in, our room wasn't ready yet because the previous guests had a late check-out. The front desk staff were incredibly helpful; they immediately gave us a king-size room to rest in, on the same floor, saving us the hassle of going up and down. They even brought the room key up to us, and the next day, we received a complimentary fruit platter. A special shout-out to the young lady at the front desk who checked us in that day – her service attitude was exceptional, and she resolved issues very quickly! The room was very spacious, and the smart amenities were quite advanced. There's a Cantonese tea house restaurant on the 5th floor, and it's near a digital mall. The room had a strange odor. I tried to open the window for ventilation, but there was no proper screen. The hotel used a stick-on screen that was already torn and bulging, so it couldn't be properly sealed. The bathroom facilities were also outdated. This was my first time staying at a Shangri-La hotel, and honestly, it wasn't as good as I'd imagined. The complimentary water in the room was Ice Dew, and there were only two bottles. That's incredibly stingy. For a five-star brand hotel, you'd expect at least Nongfu Spring or Wahaha. They're cutting costs to the point of no return. The last time I encountered Ice Dew in a five-star hotel was at the Gran Meliá Xi'an, about seven or eight years ago. I also tried the hotel's spa, and the price definitely didn't match the service. The woman at the front desk was also the masseuse, and frankly, her technique was very unprofessional. I ended the session early because of it. I would absolutely never choose it again. A good spa should add value and reputation to a hotel's brand. This one felt like it was outsourced. I'm guessing they charge too much for rent, and without making a profit, they just end up trying to fleece guests. I definitely won't choose it again.

Shekou Area (Nanshan District) Shenzhen|16.19km from downtown
This hotel wasn't originally on my radar. I only decided to stay here after spotting the big sphere atop K11 from afar while overlooking Shekou from Shenzhen Bay. To experience K11, I had to sacrifice the direct sea view. Afterwards, I realized the city view from the back of the hotel was also quite nice, making it one of those rare hotels with good views on both sides. The hotel shows its age (mostly with the carpets). Then I noticed a common pattern: expensive five-star hotels attract many influencers pretending to be wealthy, while more affordable five-star hotels host lots of tour groups and conferences. Here, I got a mix of both. There was an influencer company holding their annual dinner in the banquet hall downstairs. It's quite something to hear Li Yuchun's songs performed so off-key it sounded like wailing ghosts. There were no seats in the public area on the second floor for guests checking out and waiting for transportation. A group of us had to stand, luggage on the floor, like we were being punished. Were they worried about people from nearby walks coming in to sit? The room itself was decent, a bit of a ”nostalgic” traditional five-star layout. However, an empty minibar is pretty stingy, and there were no welcome fruits, no welcome fruits, no welcome fruits – I have to say it three times. This is currently the only five-star hotel in Shenzhen that didn't provide any. The gym is a bit mini, but it's okay for a quick workout. Breakfast was average. While the spread was quite large, the food's refinement could be improved. Nothing particularly memorable stood out. The happy hour selection was quite simple, with no live cooking stations. The buffet dishes were generally ordinary – not exquisite, not particularly appetizing, but it had a large canteen vibe and was almost full during meal times. Seeing the MGM sign already up behind K11 across the way, this place really needs to step up its game.

The hotel's location is super convenient. It's very close to the coastal boardwalk of Shenzhen Bay Park, about a 20 RMB taxi ride away. Across the street is Window of the World, and on another side is Overseas Chinese Town (OCT). Happy Valley is also nearby; I saw its sign, but I'm not sure of the exact location. The hotel is connected to the adjacent mall, and you can access the mall directly from the hotel lobby. B2 of the mall houses the subway station with lines 2 and 8, which can take you straight to Dameisha, Xiaomeisha, and Dongmen Old Street. There are also plenty of dining options around. One day, I ate in OCT and only realized how incredibly close it was when I walked back to the hotel. There are also restaurants just a street away from the hotel, and more inside the mall. You can even take the subway to Leyuan Road near Dongmen Old Street, which has a famous seafood street. The staff provide excellent service. A special shout-out to the cleaning lady, who was very patient and thoughtful. She even shared some tips with us on how to dry clothes in the room. This hotel seems popular with business travelers; I noticed many people on business trips during breakfast. I celebrated my birthday during my stay, and the hotel even sent up a small cake!

This hotel is located near Muslim Street, surrounded by many great restaurants. It's also very convenient to take a taxi to various attractions, and there's a direct shuttle service right across from the hotel entrance to different sights. For a city as well-equipped as Xi'an, the transportation here is truly outstanding. Even before I arrived, the hotel called me to confirm my arrival time and ask if I had any special requests, arranging everything in advance, which was very thoughtful. The front desk ladies were all lovely, patient, and communicative. Politeness is a two-way street, and my stay was very comfortable. The room was quite spacious, but the sliding door separating the bathroom from the main room felt a bit unusual. The lighting in the room was also a bit dim. On the positive side, it's incredibly close to Longshouyuan Station on Metro Line 2, just about 10 meters from Exit B. This makes getting around super convenient for sightseeing, as most attractions are accessible by metro. Taking a taxi to the snack street usually costs around 10+ RMB, to the Terracotta Warriors it's about 60+ RMB, and to Datang Everbright City, it's around 30 RMB. Hotel is nicely located near Huiminjie @ Muslim Quater. Everything about the stay was pleasant except for the wifi. The connection was extremely slow. I needed to get some work done, and in the end my hotspot worked much better. Another issue was the centralised aircon system. During winter, it kept blowing warm air and the room felt quite suffocating. When I asked for help, the reception staff simply advised me to switch it off. Even with the aircon turned off, the room still felt stuffy. For those arriving by Didi, use the hotel’s main address from drop-off. If you use the “allocated” address shown in the app, the driver may drop you far from the actual hotel entrance and you’ll have to navigate the rest on your own. Overall, the stay was fine but these issues made it less comfortable than expected.

The room was very clean, spacious, and comfortable, with a great separation of wet and dry areas. The room temperature was just right, not too hot. They also provided purified water dispensers in the hallways, elevators, and courtyard for guests to drink. The breakfast was quite rich, featuring Shaanxi's specialty 'saozi noodles' (minced meat noodles), and the watermelon and dragon fruit were of good quality and very fresh. Choosing the right hotel for a trip to Xi'an is crucial, and the Renaissance Xi'an truly doubled my happiness! The location is absolutely perfect; it's a 10-minute walk to MixC World, making shopping and dining incredibly convenient. Getting to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda or the Grand Tang Dynasty Everbright City only takes about ten minutes by taxi, so commuting for sightseeing is a breeze. What truly impressed me was the hotel's design, which perfectly blends the charm of ancient Xi'an with modern style. The 3D tile wall in the lobby, inspired by Mount Hua, is visually striking. The industrial-style walls paired with artistic screens, along with custom furniture inspired by tangram puzzles, create a simple yet elegant look with thoughtful details. Every photo taken here looks like a high-quality magazine shot. And the service was impeccable! The Front Office Manager was exceptionally warm and professional. During check-in, they patiently introduced the hotel facilities and offered tips for exploring Xi'an, answering all my questions and even proactively upgrading my room. This is an excellent hotel. The location is good, but since the city is large, you still need to travel by taxi. The main attractions in the city are close to the hotel. We booked a standard room, but received an upgraded option – a two-room suite on the 5th floor, which was a pleasant surprise. The room was very clean and well-equipped. The room had a comfortable bed and high-quality bedding. A major drawback was the terrible view from the window. The view was of a dilapidated inner courtyard and a neighboring building, so it was impossible to open the curtains. The service was excellent. Despite the staff having some difficulties with English, it didn't hinder communication. The breakfast was excellent, everything was delicious and varied – mainly Chinese cuisine, but also European options. We were very satisfied with our choice of hotel.

I traveled with two children and booked a family room in the apartment building with a king bed and a sofa bed. Since it's close by, I could easily get a taxi from the entrance of the High School Affiliated to Shaanxi Normal University on Ci'en West Road, avoiding the one-way traffic congestion in front of the hotel. The hotel breakfast was good, and the dinner buffet was amazing, with delicious food and very reasonable prices. I also ordered late-night snacks; the fried rice, fermented glutinous rice soup, and small dumplings were truly delicious. After having the hotel's 'safer' noodles and roujiamo, there was no need to go to any snack street. The hotel service was excellent, especially Lucy. We arrived before check-in time, and she escorted us to the executive lounge to rest and even provided complimentary breakfast vouchers, for which I'm especially grateful. The kids had a great time eating and playing at the hotel. The Giant Wild Goose Pagoda and the Grand Tang Dynasty Everbright City are right at the doorstep, which was incredibly convenient with children. Stepping into the Xi'an Huaqing Yutang Hotel felt like being instantly transported back to the glorious Tang Dynasty. The hotel is built into the hillside, seamlessly blending with the Huaqing Palace ruins. Its black bricks, grey tiles, and upturned eaves everywhere exude a rich Tang-dynasty charm. Upon check-in, staff dressed in traditional Tang attire offered warm welcoming tea, and their meticulous service made us feel truly valued. The guest rooms perfectly combine Tang culture with modern comfort. The antique-style furniture is elegant and exquisite, and the bedding is soft and skin-friendly. The most delightful surprise, however, was the private natural hot spring bath right in the room. Sourced from the ancient springs at the foot of Mount Li, the water is smooth and rich in various minerals. Enjoying this luxury in a private setting instantly washed away all travel fatigue. At night, gazing at the starry sky from the balcony and listening to the wind in the mountains, it felt as though I could hear echoes of history. The hotel's exclusive 'Jinghong Travel Photography' service was undoubtedly the highlight of this stay. From hair and makeup to clothing, a professional team meticulously created full Tang-style looks for us. The makeup artist's techniques were delicate, and both the hair accessories and makeup aimed to authentically recreate the splendor of the Tang Dynasty. Donning the gorgeous Tang-era Hanfu, we instantly transformed into characters from a painting. Our photographer was not only highly skilled but also deeply knowledgeable about the history and culture of Huaqing Palace. He guided us through pavilions, terraces, and hot spring pools, choosing the best lighting and angles to perfectly blend the beauty of Mount Li with our poses. Whether it was the languid charm of a concubine bathing or the classic elegance of gazing into the distance from a railing, each photo was like a beautiful ancient-style scroll, immortalizing our Tang Dynasty memories. The entire photoshoot was relaxed and enjoyable, and the results far exceeded our expectations. Summary: A dual feast for body, mind, and culture. The Xi'an Huaqing Yutang Hotel is not just a place to stay; it's an immersive cultural experience. It nourishes the body and mind with ancient hot springs, infuses the soul with the splendor of the Tang Dynasty, and then uses the 'Jinghong Travel Photography' to eternally capture these unique memories. Whether you're a history enthusiast, a hot spring lover, or a traveler seeking a unique experience, this is an unmissable and perfect choice for your Xi'an trip. Plus, staying for two nights during the Qingming period, the two rooms cost nearly 20,000, which is very worthless. This is the case for Xi'an's homestay. It is conveniently located near to the Xi’an South Gate and good access to food. The room was clean with crisp linens and comfortable beds and pillows. Shower and bathroom facilities were great with ample hot water and powerful shower heads. The room was smoke free though we had to swap the first offering because the room had a lingering cigarette smoke smell. Typical for China, a non-smoking room is a just a suggestion to some clientele. There were occasional whiffs of smoke near the elevators. Breakfast had variety of tasty offerings that changed daily. Coffee was good. Tea service could be improved with hotter water the implementation of tea pots with tea strainers. Laundry room was excellent. Lots of space and the staff helps to keep the flow of laundry moving. The dryers are a bit slow. They usually require about 1:45 to completely dry a full load. The general layout of the hotel is quite nice with some modern touches. Couple transportation items to note. Location of hotel may be noisy because of night time entertainment in front of the hotel. We stayed for two nights, on the 16th and 17th. On the 15th, I received a call from the hotel asking about our room preferences. I requested a room with a good view, non-smoking, and quiet. When we checked in, the staff assigned us room 213. This was the lowest floor I've ever stayed on in a hotel, and it was room number 13! I was surprised that the hotel actually had a room 13! How could an international hotel like this assign room 13 to a foreigner? During afternoon tea that day, besides my husband, myself, and an Asian mother and daughter, all the other guests were foreigners. This made me realize even more why I was so unlucky to get room 13! This hotel has such a unique room number 13, and they treat their own compatriots differently from foreigners! However, the smart toilet in room 13 was broken. It wouldn't automatically lift the lid or flush when you stood in front of it. What was even more unbearable was that as soon as you sat on it, the toilet would make a loud gurgling sound and automatically spray water on your backside. We tried it twice, and it happened both times. Also, the light switch was malfunctioning and didn't work. As a result, our room was changed to room 206. Neither room 13 nor room 06 had a French garden view; you could only see trees outside the window. Room 06 overlooked a concrete platform. I stayed during the off-season, and there were only a handful of guests at both afternoon tea and breakfast. Even during the peak breakfast time at 8 AM, there were only four tables with no more than ten guests. In such an off-season, why couldn't they offer us a higher floor with a better view? The male butler from the hotel called in advance on the 15th to ask about my room preferences; wasn't that just being insincere and fake? The staff's service level was inconsistent. Two female servers at afternoon tea and breakfast simply didn't observe guests' needs. The slim, tall female server in the afternoon tea restaurant had an ice-cold expression and no proactive service awareness. One female server in the breakfast restaurant looked like she hadn't woken up yet, with messy hair, no makeup, and ill-fitting work clothes, completely lacking the demeanor of a star-rated hotel employee. More importantly, this server didn't proactively observe guests' tables. Every time, we had to call her to take away the empty plates. Even more exaggerated, when she took away empty plates, she wouldn't simultaneously take away empty cups, nor would she think to ask. Let's talk about the problems with the breakfast restaurant: First, the flowers on the dining tables were fake! For a 'diamond-level' hotel like this, how can they put fake flowers on the tables? If they want to save costs, there are many ways: place some air plants or soilless succulents, or even small, easy-to-care-for plants. Anything real would be more tasteful than these fake ones. Regardless, a 'diamond-level' hotel should not have fake flowers on its dining tables. This is disrespectful to guests. Second, there was a wide variety of bread, but no chain-type toaster to heat the bread. This is usually a staple at the bread station in five-star hotels. Yet, at this 'super five-star' hotel, you can only eat cold bread for breakfast. Third, the restaurant only provided toothpicks, not dental floss sticks. Nowadays, even very ordinary restaurants offer dental floss sticks. A 'diamond-level' hotel like this should provide guests with dental floss sticks, and ideally, toothpick brushes. Additionally, the steps in the bathrooms of both room 13 and room 06 were damaged. In room 13, the hotel actually used cheap, uneven gray adhesive corner guards, which looked very out of place and clashed with the exquisite French decor. They should have used brass stair nosings! During my two-day stay at the hotel, Ms. Doris Du's kindness, politeness, proactive work attitude, and professional image left a very good impression on me. After we checked in and received our key, she led us to our room. She first gave us a tour of the hotel and introduced its history. On the day we checked out, she happened to be on duty at the front desk. She was the only staff member at the hotel who immediately stood up to greet guests upon seeing them! The only one! This small professional gesture of hers was like the first ray of sunshine in the morning, warming my heart! Recalling my check-in, there was a male and female staff member at the front desk. They did not stand up to greet us when guests checked in. When we received our room cards and got up to leave, they remained seated without moving. This is disrespectful to guests. Staff should stand up to greet guests when they arrive, ask them to sit down, and then sit down themselves to process the check-in. When guests receive their room cards and get up, the staff should also stand up to see them off. Such basic courtesies of polite welcome and farewell were completely lacking! On the day I checked in, I had two items of clothing that needed ironing. The female staff member who was on duty at the front desk that day came to our room to collect them. During the process of opening the door to see her, handing her the clothes, and briefly communicating with her, she maintained an ice-cold demeanor throughout, without a hint of a smile. She was not the only female staff member in this hotel who provided service without a smile. In summary, all these issues, and more, expose the hotel's unprofessional training and inadequate management. Sofitel Legend People's Grand Hotel Xian is not directly affiliated with the Sofitel group; it is part of the People's Grand Building owned by Shaanxi Urban Investment and Operations Group Co., Ltd., and is operated by AccorHotels, a French hotel management group. Therefore, the experience was vastly different from the Sofitel hotels I've stayed at abroad.

High-tech Development Zone Xi'an|9.65km from downtown
I really liked the room. Before arriving, I tried to ask the front desk on Trip.com if I could get an upgrade, but they refused. When I got there, I saw that Trip.com still had twin rooms available and asked if I could upgrade, but they told me I'd have to pay the difference to upgrade to a king room, which were all sold out anyway. As the saying goes, 'misfortune may be a blessing in disguise,' and this twin room on the 26th floor, 2612, was a bit tucked away but overall very good. The consistent design and symmetrical beds reflected traditional Chinese aesthetics. Although the sofa area wasn't large, the location was great, and it had a definite wet/dry separation. The next morning, I went for breakfast. The hostess quickly found a seat for me, and plates were cleared promptly during the meal. The service was excellent, though I was too busy to catch her name; she just looked plump and cheerful. Around 11 AM, I went to the swimming pool and met Cheng Xue'er from the gym. She was incredibly polite and courteous, and after my swim, she gave me a bag for my swimsuit. At first, I thought she was an intern, but she's actually a fitness coach – don't be 'charmed' by her beautiful, petite, and cute appearance like I was! Afterward, I had lunch at the Chinese restaurant. I had made a reservation, and they held the table for me. I'd seen reviews on other apps praising their service, and it truly lived up to expectations. From the manager to the front desk and service staff, everyone exuded professionalism. I especially want to thank Ms. Zhang Jing and Mr. Liu Anjun (Jun) for their meticulous and thoughtful service and impeccable etiquette. Thank you for the encounter, and I wish you all the best.

West Gate (City Center) Xi'an|3.4km from downtown
The skyscraper is very large and beautiful. The rooms are nice and have all the amenities. We were given a free room upgrade. There's a beautiful pool and a gym available. Towels were changed and the bathroom was cleaned every day. Breakfast was a buffet with all kinds of food, with chefs preparing typical Xi'an dishes on the spot. Above all, the staff was very kind, accommodating all our requests and offering us yogurt drinks, desserts, and soups for dinner or a snack completely free of charge. Some of the staff speak English, but with WeChat, you can communicate with a translation tool. I recommend it! Excellent value for money.

This hotel was a great experience. The staff were very friendly and helpful, always quick to meet our needs. The rooms were very clean and comfortable, and the beds were very comfortable, making for a pleasant experience. The hotel's location is very convenient, with easy access to transportation. There are subway and bus stops nearby, which is very convenient for tourists. The hotel breakfast was also very plentiful, with a wide variety of choices and excellent quality, giving me a wonderful start to each morning. The hotel facilities were also very well-designed and offered great value for money. The hotel service was also very convenient. The receptionists, Xiao Sun and Xiao Cheng, were very friendly and attentive, and check-in was quick. I highly recommend this hotel. The facilities are modern, and the staff are very welcoming. I will definitely choose this hotel again next time I travel.

Qujiang Exhibition Area Xi'an|6.74km from downtown
It is an old five-star hotel. We went there during the Spring Festival holiday. The price was a bit expensive. The price is more cost-effective during the off-season, but the environment and location are very good. The hotel is large in size, parking is very convenient, and the service staff has a very good attitude. The whole hotel is fragrant, and there is an automatic fragrance machine in the corridor. We booked a room with breakfast. The hotel has a rich breakfast, including bread, milk, coffee, fruits, and various staple foods. Everything is available, the freshly cooked rice noodles and noodles taste good, the dining area is large and very comfortable. The room is very large. When the front desk staff found out that I was traveling with my two children, they took the initiative to upgrade to a 1.35-meter-wide double room for free. Like 👍. The hot water is very fast. Hot water comes out in three seconds after I turn it on. The location is also very good. Just turn left when you go out and walk for 5 minutes to the south gate of the Evernight City of the Tang Dynasty. Now you can see the Evernight City from every room, which is very convenient. The slight drawback is that the hotel is a little older and the facilities are a bit old. The socket at the bedside of the room is out of power. My mobile phone has an Android double-sided plug, not USB, so charging is inconvenient. But despite its flaws, I still recommend it.

Good location and room. But it is not on the main street so it's kinda hard to find. They give you a gift at checkout. There is a gym, Go board, and a free to use washing machine. Breakfast is limited

Everything is good. They only have one washing machine and heater. So we need to wait for some time to wash our cloths as we stay over there for one weeks. Remarkable service from Soon Xiao Ni and the crew provide daily breakfast. She is professionalism, attention to detail, and kindness made a big difference. I truly appreciate her dedication to her works.

The environment is very good. It is in the downtown area. The Bell and Drum Tower is right outside. You don't need to order takeout for supper at night. There are all kinds of snacks downstairs. It is very convenient. They also gave me a souvenir gift before I left. I was very happy.

Xi'An North Railway Station/Xi'An Municipal Government Xi'an|10.72km from downtown
The room was great, fully equipped, and especially quiet. It's very close to Xi'an North Railway Station, and they offer a shuttle service, which is perfect for guests catching trains from there. Dining and shopping nearby are very convenient. Plus, it's away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The room service was good, affordable, and the staff had a great attitude. Breakfast was decent, and all the staff, though a bit older, were exceptionally friendly.

. Man Xin Changanli Hotel Xi'an Bell tower was a gorgeous and modern hotel. The room was beautifully designed in warm colors and there was plenty of seating area--including a cute little tatami sitting area. The windows were floor-to-ceiling, with automatic curtains that move with a slight tug. The staff were very friendly. The view outside the window is an interesting picture of the city wall, but it wasn't very pretty--just the brick wall and little bit of the events on the top. The beds were too firm for me, but I'm used to softer beds. My friend said it was fine for her though. Despite how beautiful the room is, I would not stay there again. The temperature in the room would not go below 29c, even with the air conditioner turned on. When asked if they could come fix the A/C, the staff said this room was more ”natural” and people don't really use it, so there wasn't anything they could do. We had to open the windows to keep cool. Additionally, the air conditioner was so loud that when I first heard it, I thought someone was rolling a cart down the cobblestones outside the hotel window. It was almost as loud as the construction happening directly outside our window. Speaking of the construction, it didn't start until 7 or 8 pm at night and went through until 3-4am. Couldn’t close the window without turning the room into a hotbox, so it was extremely noisy between the sounds of the machinery and the workers shouting over it. I'm a light sleeper, so it was nearly impossible to sleep. Between the heat, the noise from the air conditioner, and the noise from the construction, I got almost no sleep during my three day stay. So it's a lovely hotel, but it's too noisy and uncomfortable.
