Station square

The station square is an integral part of China train stations, serving as the first point of contact for passengers arriving at or departing from the station. This square is the main entrance to facilitate smooth transitions between buses, metro, taxis and the train station.

The waiting area includes large seating areas, divided into sections based on ticket class and destination. These areas are equipped with electronic information boards displaying train schedules. For first-class and business-class passengers, VIP lounge offers more premium services.

Platform access

You have to pass the automated or staffed gates by scanning tickets to gain access to the platforms. Then follow the sign to the platform. Platforms are clearly marked with train numbers and destinations to the correct boarding area.

After disembarking, passengers pass through the gates, often requiring a ticket scan to exit. There are areas where arriving passengers gather, and clear signs to transform to metro, bus, or taxis. Hotels in downtown Beijing are too expensive on weekdays... this one offers great value for money! The location of a hotel in Beijing is key! Located on the East 2nd Ring Road in Jianguomen, it's an older Japanese-owned hotel, with many Japanese guests. The rooms are also very Japanese-style, feeling like staying in a hotel in Osaka. The hotel has a small garden, and breakfast is quite good. Although the facilities are a bit old, the overall maintenance is very good.

I really hit the jackpot choosing this hotel for my autumn trip to Beijing. When you're here for the fall foliage, you want to be living in the middle of it, and this hotel's window views are just incredible – definitely worth the hype for Instagram. Lots of people come here just to take photos, and the great thing about staying at the hotel is you can avoid the crowds. The location is fantastic. It's about a 10-minute walk to Tiananmen Gate 4, which makes catching the flag-raising ceremony and exploring the square's attractions super convenient. I was in Beijing for 3 days and visited Tiananmen Square twice, getting through security very quickly both times. It seems Gate 4 has fewer people. There's also a bus stop right next to the hotel, making public transport very easy. The subway stations for various lines are about a ten-minute walk away, which is perfectly acceptable for someone who enjoys walking like me. I'm not too picky about cleanliness; as long as it's presentable enough to sleep in, I'm fine, and I bring a lot of my own stuff anyway. So, broadly speaking, I didn't notice any issues, and I didn't pay attention to the small details. But since the hotel has been around for so long, I'm sure it's up to standard. The overall decor is a bit old-fashioned, but it has everything you need. I particularly loved the large bathtub; coming back from the cold wind outside with a foggy head, a bath really clears everything up. The front desk staff were also quite friendly. The only thing is, it's a very popular hotel, and it was fully booked when I arrived, so I had to wait until after 2 PM to check in. Thankfully, I could leave my luggage in the lobby, so I dropped my bags and went straight out to explore without any delay to my plans. All in all, I'm very satisfied with the hotel, and I'll definitely stay here again next year when I come to Beijing for the autumn leaves.

The hotel was nice and clean the staff where nice enough. Not what I expected for the price level though. The restaurant times seemed to be different everyday, the only issue I had is that the lobby seems to be constantly full of people (not guests) taking photos and while that the perfectly fine in general this was excessive at times and often blocked the walkways to lifts and stairs to access rooms.

The Grand Millennium Beijing has an excellent location with convenient transportation, and my stay was very satisfying. The lobby is elegant, and check-in was efficient and quick. The room was spacious and comfortable, clean and bright, with soft bedding that ensured a good night's sleep. The service staff were warm and professional, responding quickly to requests, which made me feel well taken care of. Breakfast was rich and varied, offering a comprehensive mix of Chinese and Western options, all of high quality. Overall, it offers great value for money and is an ideal choice for both business and leisure travel.

Excellent location - 1min from Beijing apm and main Wangfujing street. Lots of food around the vicinity but you got to explore a little bit. I booked a Deluxe Twin Room. It was super spacious. Automated toilet seat(open/close) with bidet. Nice bathtub though I did not use it, since it's a hassle to open/close the open concept kind of toilet/bathroom. Breakfast spread was decent but I personally think there could have been more variety. There's a few live station such as the zhajiangmien and omelette station. It was nice. A little more improvement could be made as I noticed the chef not wearing gloves. I do not mind but I just thought a 5 star hotel chef would be wearing gloves. No complains though. Reception staff was very courteous, greeting you whenever they see you. Excellent service. Cons - I think the lobby is way too small for a 5 star hotel like Hilton. There are only 2 seats and a long sofa which can sit up to 5 pax(maybe?). There are always guests around, so usually, I would have no place to sit. Though it's not an issue for me, I thought those elderly might need them. I walked around Wangfujing and noticed neighbouring hotels such as Regent, Novotel(4-star) has very huge lobby. But it is what it is. Overall - Nice place, great service staff and spacious room. Breakfast spread could be better and open concept bathroom can be automated such that it is easy for people to close the doors. Lobby size is a big minus. Loved the free toiletries/amenities next to reception area. Face oil, cleanser, toner & cream from DHC brand

The location is fantastic, right outside a subway station. It's only about a 10-15 minute ride on Line 2 to the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square. Plus, Guorui City and New World are just a 5-minute walk away, making shopping and snacking super convenient! The room was clean and odor-free, and the bed was so soft I didn't want to get up. The staff, both the guys and girls, were incredibly warm and welcoming. I even forgot my charger, and they actively helped me borrow one! The *youtiao* (fried dough sticks) and *doufunao* (tofu pudding) at breakfast were incredibly authentic. There's also a Huguosi Snack bar downstairs, perfect for late-night cravings. It's an established hotel, and it feels reliable. I'll definitely choose this place again on my next trip to Beijing!

I recently stayed at the Sunworld Hotel, and the experience was fantastic! I definitely have to give it a glowing review! The overall decoration of the hotel is exquisite. The lobby is spacious and bright, and every corner is clean and tidy. I especially want to praise the front desk staff, Zoey. Her service is simply impeccable. When handling the check-in procedures, she was enthusiastic and professional. I asked her many questions about nearby places to visit and dine, and she patiently answered all of them. She also thoughtfully provided a lot of practical suggestions. It made me feel extremely warm and at ease. In conclusion, both the environment and service of the Sunworld Hotel exceeded my expectations. Zoey has added many wonderful memories to this stay. This was my second trip to Beijing in mid-to-late October, and I chose to stay at the same hotel I did years ago, which added a nice sense of familiarity to revisiting the city. The most appealing aspect is the hotel's central location in Wangfujing. The interior environment is still quite good; whenever you return, you can enjoy a hot tea in the lobby to ward off the early winter chill. I didn't get the 'Jiangnan' room, so I opted for a premium room with a bathtub. Although I don't usually take baths, the room felt much more spacious, and having a window for ventilation was convenient for temperature control. The cleaning lady was very outgoing and easy to communicate with; she replenished the water daily, and tea bags and soft drinks were refilled the next day after use. For small items I needed temporarily, I could provide a list on WeChat mini-program, and a robot would deliver them, which is perfect for introverted travelers. However, since there's only one elevator and one robot, food deliveries might be a bit delayed during peak hours, but calling for human service is a warm touch. When checking out on the morning of October 26th, the front desk attendant was very gentle, asked for detailed feedback, and even gave a small gift, which brought a perfect end to my trip. Sorry I promised to leave a review but only had time to write a few words today (๑• . •๑). Finally, I suggest the hotel updates the in-room TVs when appropriate; not being able to easily cast content feels a bit outdated.

The biggest advantage is the convenient location, close to the subway, making travel easy. It's right next to Shinsegae Department Store and Chongwenmen Market, so it's convenient for food if you don't feel like going far. The room is quite old, and the soundproofing isn't great, so it's more suitable for travelers who don't spend much time in their room. Think of it as a high-end hostel, and you'll have the right expectation. The service was very good; the room was cleaned daily on time, and amenities were refilled. Just a heads-up about the black and white throw pillow in the room – hair easily sticks to it and is hard to see. On my check-in day, I found long hair on it and promptly tossed it aside.

Our stay here was absolutely perfect! The spacious 75 sqm room, decorated in elegant beige with a blend of Chinese art and modern design, offered ultimate privacy thanks to sliding doors separating the living area and bedroom. The smart control panel, supporting 11 languages, was incredibly convenient for adjusting lighting and temperature with a single touch. The Bowers & Wilkins sound system and 75-inch high-definition TV provided an immersive audio-visual experience. The marble bathroom offered stunning views, allowing us to enjoy the Wangfujing streetscape while soaking in the tub, with an additional TV next to the bath for extra relaxation. Came here to play with ice and snow, but the ice park was closed, but the snow park was. Came here with children and the elderly, and booked a suite and standard room in the VIP building. The VIP building is newly renovated, the environment is very good, the lobby is large and grand, but there are relatively few guests, even on weekends. You have to drive to another building to eat and soak in the hot springs, which is a bit far to walk, and the snow park is closer to the dining place. It is worth praising that the staff of the snow park have a good attitude, a good experience, and everyone is very enthusiastic. It is worth complaining about the toilet in the snow park, which is a simple one, cold and unclean. There is only one, and you have to queue. It would be better if the snow park opened a few cafes with better environment. There is a small beverage shop with a very bad environment, which is very crowded. The elderly were sitting inside waiting for us to play with snow, but later they felt uncomfortable and went back to the hotel room. . . It is close to the city, and it takes more than an hour to drive there. . .

We brought the kids to Le Méridien Badaling for a relaxing weekend. The hotel is very close to the Jingzang Expressway, and it only took us an hour to get there from the city, so the transportation was very convenient. The room was spacious, and the facilities were complete, with a nice hot spring and kids' play area. Breakfast was abundant, and Wanda Plaza is right next door. We couldn't get a reservation for the hotel's buffet dinner, but we had a great meal at Oyster Hero instead. Our butler, David, was very enthusiastic and arranged a late check-out for us, so the kids could rest at noon before we left. He also provided four extra bottles of water for the room; his service was always available online. Overall, we were very satisfied. If I had to mention a downside, it would be that the hotel's renovation was done quite a while ago, and it gets pretty crowded on weekends, but these were all within an acceptable range. We didn't have time to visit Kala Planet next door, so we'll have to come back and stay for a few more days next time.

The facilities and environment were excellent, but the room amenities fell far short of expectations. The refrigerator wasn't cold, blood stains were found on pillows, the bedding was torn, and the bathroom door couldn't lock. That said, I'm immensely grateful to the hotel butler, Bradley, for his exceptional care. He provided 24/7 support for my family and me, promptly addressing every request—whether fixing malfunctioning phones, repairing all broken lights in the room, or other issues. His help extended beyond hotel duties: when we planned outings, he offered invaluable advice, practical tips, and essential reminders. We come to Half-Mountain at Haiwan almost every winter, and this time the experience was particularly fantastic. The service was incredibly attentive. My butler, Luna, sent me a lot of information about hotel activities in advance. I tried the morning floating sound bowl session in the Mercury hot spring pool with an Indian instructor. Listening to the bowls while focusing on my breath and the sensation of floating was incredibly relaxing. The morning Hatha yoga class, also with an Indian instructor, was very soothing and stretching. The service at Half-Mountain is genuinely excellent; every staff member is friendly and enthusiastic, and requests are met very quickly. The hot springs are as good as ever, the water is clean, and my skin felt wonderfully smooth afterward. During this stay, I tried both the Chinese and Western restaurants. The Chinese food portions were very generous, and the boiled beef and stir-fried eggs with tomatoes were surprisingly delicious. The Chinese meal also came with mixed grain rice, steamed with raisins and red dates, which my child devoured two bowls of! The Western food was also very good. As we were leaving, Luna even gave my child an ice cream, which made them incredibly happy. We'll definitely be back when the weather gets a bit colder, and next time I plan to stay an extra day!

Promised two meals but only got one and was told that we were only allowed two vegetables dishes. Food was really salty and room only provided one bottle of drinking water. Loads of stinky bugs out of nowhere, would just pop up on the bed or sitting area. Parking location and luggage transport was intersting. Every year, I stay here for about a week. The lobby staff always proactively open car doors and help with luggage, and the front desk staff are incredibly helpful and accommodating. The cleaning ladies are also very kind and polite. I've gotten used to staying here over the years. However, a small incident this time slightly impacted my experience. It happened to be the hotel's anniversary that day. We brought a few friends who were staying at nearby hotels back to ours. We even participated in the anniversary celebration in the lobby, posing for photos and videos with the staff. Back in our room, we were cooking and forgot to turn on the range hood, which set off the smoke alarm. Two staff members, a man and a woman, came to investigate. The man had a very stern expression. He walked into our room with rather dirty shoes and no shoe covers, went straight to the dining area, and started taking photos. Everyone in our group always changes into slippers upon entering to maintain the room's cleanliness. We quickly explained to them that we had just been cooking and forgotten to turn on the range hood. However, the man's expression remained displeased, and his attitude made us feel like we had committed some major offense, almost like we were being interrogated. Seeing four guests in the room, we quickly explained that only two of us were officially checked in. The guests hadn't gone to the front desk to register that day because of the ongoing event in the lobby, so they had just headed straight up to the room. The next day, we brought up the incident with the front desk, and they very politely apologized to us. We hope that in the future, other relevant departments will receive better training, and staff will not treat guests as if they are reprimanding criminals.

Our first trip to Beijing brought an unexpected and delightful surprise. We were fortunate enough to be upgraded to the Ambassador Suite, which was incredibly spacious. The large living room offered plenty of room for the kids to run around and play freely. My son and daughter both said soaking in the huge bathtub was a real treat. Plus, there were bunk beds, which the little ones absolutely loved. The top-floor view presented the city's nightscape as a beautiful painting outside our window. It was a moment of peace and quiet, coupled with a touch of secret joy, truly the perfect start to our trip. Many thanks to Danika and her team; everyone greeted us warmly with kind words and smiles, making us feel completely at home. After a cold night bike ride around Tiananmen, we messaged the next day to ask for a few bowls of brown sugar ginger tea, and our request was immediately fulfilled. When housekeeping staff member Fang Le was cleaning, she noticed our suitcases on the floor. Concerned the children might trip over them, she promptly arranged for two extra luggage racks and neatly organized all our belongings. Although our stay was only two short days, we experienced so many heartwarming moments. Choosing to stay here during our Beijing trip was truly the smartest decision we made!

The Shangri-La Hotel exudes a festive Christmas atmosphere, thanks to the beautiful Christmas tree in the lobby. Outside the hotel, the Chinese-style courtyard, with its corridors, pavilions, rockeries, and winding paths, showcases classic charm. The front desk provides excellent and warm service to guests, paying great attention to detail. The Shang Palace, executive lounge, and breakfast are all impressive. Although the rooms are a bit older, they are well-equipped, well-maintained, comfortable, and quiet. The hotel courtyard view from the window is lovely, especially at night.

A truly excellent experience. The advantages are clear: even though this hotel opened several years ago, the room size, hardware facilities, and overall design and quality are on par with newer hotels. I stayed for three nights, and the room was comfortable and spacious, not cramped, with a very clear layout. My shower head might have been a bit finicky, haha, but it wasn't a big deal. The location is super convenient. You can easily bike to places like Qianmen and the Temple of Heaven. It's a quiet spot amidst the hustle and bustle, making it easy to get to business districts and attractions. The hotel staff did a very meticulous job cleaning. For this price point, the overall value for money far exceeded my expectations. I would definitely stay here again. My only minor complaint is that the front desk staff sometimes weren't very enthusiastic, although the two who assisted us with check-in and check-out were fine.

Booked this hotel for my boss, and they were very satisfied, even extending their stay for another night! Nuo Hotel is a Chinese luxury five-star brand co-developed by Kempinski and BTG Homeinns. Currently, it's only located in Beijing. Room view: Good Location and transportation: Convenient, and parking is free! Bed: Even the twin beds are super spacious. Room facilities: The basic room type has a thoughtful design, with a huge walk-in closet area, making the overall space quite large, especially the bathroom area with its double sinks—a definite plus! Breakfast: Super rich, with both Chinese and Western options. Service: Five-star, excellent!

The room is very clean and the hotel is very new! I have been staying in their group hotels all over the country. One reason is that the hotel is newly opened nearby, clean and has good service! The other reason is that their hotel locations are basically located in convenient locations. This one in Beijing is very user-friendly. Recently, I opened a business nearby. I chose the cheapest reservation. The front desk called me that day to explain the situation. I told them that it was okay because I arrived in the early morning. It was the cheapest room type I voluntarily chose and it had nothing to do with the hotel. The front desk agreed to me humanely that there were other vacant rooms and they could help me upgrade for free. The room pictures are for free upgrades! Moreover, during my stay, the service at the hotel front desk made me feel warm! From the front desk receptionist's smiling service, patiently and meticulously explaining the check-in process, to the quick and efficient handling of the procedures, every detail showed a high level of professionalism. In the subsequent check-in process, there were problems that were actively communicated and solved. They always responded enthusiastically, using thoughtful suggestions and timely actions to solve the problems, making me feel as if I were at home. Such high-quality service must give a big thumbs up to the staff at the hotel front desk! I strongly recommend this hotel! This group of hotels in other provinces also have the same service attitude, which is really good! Like 👍

Let's skip the positives; it's an old, established hotel. Here are the negatives: 1. The hairdryer was broken. I tried multiple outlets and confirmed it was completely unusable. I took a shower right before leaving in the morning and then discovered the hairdryer was out of order. Luckily, I have short hair, so it dried quickly, but if it were a woman with long hair, it would definitely have caused a delay. When I brought this up at the front desk, their reaction was simply to thank me for informing them, without a single apology. 2. There was renovation work going on upstairs in the hotel, and the sound of the electric drill was quite loud during the day. There was absolutely no warning given at check-in, nor was there any notice about renovation noise placed in the room. 3. The toiletries were in large bottles, but unbelievably, they couldn't fit into the shower niche (as shown in the picture). I had to make do by placing them awkwardly, or else, when I needed shampoo while showering, I had to open the door, step out of the shower stall, and grab it from the sink area.

The quadrangle courtyard has a very strong positive vibe, and the scenery is beautiful. The Ming and Qing dynasty architecture really captures the essence of old Beijing. What I liked most was the private butler, Danika, who provided thoughtful service; even the kids loved her. Breakfast can be delivered to the room, which was an absolute treat. The room was spacious, giving the children plenty of room to play, and they could also enjoy the courtyard. Danika helped us with our luggage and thoughtfully prepared sun hats for the children, which were incredibly practical. Five-star recommendation!!!

My wife and I stayed for one week at the beautiful and world-class Radisson Blu Hotel. We are extremely satisfied and pleased with our choice. We are certain that every time we travel to Shanghai, we will definitely stay at this hotel. We will recommend the Radisson Blu Hotel to all our friends who plan to visit Shanghai. Staff members at the hotel are very friendly, respectful, and professional. They do their best to ensure that guests have an enjoyable stay. November 26th was my wife’s birthday. We were out all day and upon returning to our room, we seen a beautiful and delicious small cute cake sitting on the table with a birthday greeting message on it. We believed that the cake was being sent by hotel to our room. We celebrated her birthday with that cake. Thanks to hotel for the sweet surprise. We also enjoyed the hotel’s breakfast every day, which was very diverse and delicious. One of the staff members, named Lidiia along with the rest of the restaurant team, made a great effort to ensure that the hotel guests enjoyed the wide variety of breakfast options.

Convenient location to business buildings and tourist attractions. Just 2km or so to Nanjing Pedestrian Road. But, nothing much is opened before 10am near hotel. So, if you're looking for breakfast before 10am, you might need to travel a little further. There's a convenience store just underneath the hotel. However, for my room on 9th floor, every now and then, there's sewage stench coming from the vent, possibly from the toilet of the unit above? It lasted several minutes. That's the main issue with the unit. Otherwise, I had comfortable sleep and I appreciate the kitchen and washing machine in the room.

If there's one hotel experience that perfectly blends the desire for urban vibrancy with the longing for peaceful comfort, it has to be at Pullman Shanghai Jing An. This stay completely redefined my perception of high-end business hotels – it's not just a stopover on a journey, but an artistic space filled with warmth and meticulous details. 📍 **Prime Location, Heart of Jing An** Located in the core area of Shanghai's Jing An district, the subway is right outside, and Nanjing West Road commercial district and Jing An Temple are within walking distance. It offers unparalleled convenience whether for business trips or city exploration. The bustling streets are just steps away, yet stepping through the hotel doors transports you instantly into a serene and elegant sanctuary. 🛎️ **Exemplary Service, A Home Away From Home** From the moment I stepped into the lobby, I was enveloped in just the right amount of warm hospitality. The concierge's smile was inviting, check-in at the front desk was efficient and professional, and even my pre-noted requests were meticulously attended to. Room service was prompt, and the turndown service was thoughtful, truly embodying the principle of ”anticipating needs rather than waiting for requests.” 🛏️ **Design Aesthetics, The Art of Sleep** The guest rooms flawlessly blend modern simplicity with elegant Oriental charm. Floor-to-ceiling windows bring the city skyline indoors, and as night falls, Jing An's dazzling nightscape becomes a private backdrop. The signature Pullman bed cradles you like a cloud, paired with high-quality bedding, ensuring a night of deep, restful sleep. The mini-bar is well-stocked, and the bathroom is spacious and bright, with every detail reflecting quality. 🍽️ **A Culinary Journey, Delightful Flavors** Breakfast at the ”Elements” restaurant offered an unexpectedly rich selection of Chinese and Western options. Beyond the live noodle station and local specialty dim sum, there were fresh squeezed juices and exquisite pastries. The Executive Lounge deserves a special mention; spending an afternoon there, enjoying a freshly brewed coffee with delicate desserts while overlooking the city traffic, made a busy business trip feel like a relaxing vacation. 🏋️ **Excellent Facilities, Rejuvenate Body and Mind** The fitness center is equipped with professional, comprehensive equipment, and the treadmills facing the Jing An scenery make cardio workouts anything but boring. The heated swimming pool has crystal-clear water; a few laps here washed away all fatigue. For business travelers, the hotel's meeting rooms are well-equipped, and the business center offers attentive service, perfectly supporting efficient work. 🌟 **Overall Impression** Pullman Shanghai Jing An builds a true five-star experience with countless details – it understands the efficiency demands of business travelers and caters to every guest's desire for comfort. Here, luxury isn't a cold display, but a tangible warmth and a palpable thoughtfulness. This was more than just a stay; it was a soul-healing journey worth savoring. Next time I visit Shanghai, Pullman Shanghai Jing An will definitely remain my top choice.

Who knew?! Choosing the right hotel in Shanghai made my trip even more memorable than the attractions themselves! I stayed at The Blossom House Yu Garden for 2 nights, and from the moment I stepped in until I left, the surprises just kept coming~ ✅As soon as I arrived, a staff member proactively helped with my luggage, and I was greeted with smiles every time I entered or exited. They even discreetly upgraded my room during check-in – my goodwill towards them was instantly maximized! The room was incredibly comfortable, spacious, bright, and full of thoughtful design – a bronze-yellow petal-shaped door, a budding flower elevator door, and even large floral decorations in the room. It felt like living in a flowing floral feast. Fresh fruit was provided daily for both nights of my stay, and the hot water for showers at night was super abundant. Coming back after a long day, it was incredibly therapeutic. 🍃Breakfast was a delightful blend of Chinese and Western cuisine! Freshly cooked scallion oil noodles with braised toppings, authentic Shanghai soup dumplings, and plenty of Western salads, desserts, and coffee. Sitting in the restaurant, I could even gaze at the Bund's 'Three Sisters' (Shanghai Tower, Shanghai World Financial Center, Jin Mao Tower) plus the Oriental Pearl TV Tower from afar. Eating while enjoying the view was just too pleasant. 🪭The most amazing part was the evening! The hotel offered travel photography and intangible cultural heritage handicrafts. I chose the Yu Garden night tour, and the staff patiently explained the humanities and history along the way, which was far more interesting than just wandering around by myself~ The location is superb, too. The Bund, Yu Garden, and Chenghuang Temple are all within walking distance, so there's no need to rush when exploring, eating, and taking photos! 🎉There are many more details worth mentioning〰️ for example, the bathroom cups were clean and sparkling, the in-room fruit was fresh and juicy, and the mini-bar drinks were complimentary.

The house is being renovated, so for the weekend, I decided to stay overnight as a local resident of Shanghai. During the two years of the pandemic, I also took my child to many iconic local hotels to experience them. After considering factors such as comfort, location, cost-effectiveness, dining, service, opening hours, and overall quality, I would highly recommend this hotel to friends planning a trip to Shanghai. The staff are very attentive and responsive to any needs. The location is excellent, situated in North Bund, Hongkou District, which is not too noisy and offers easy access to various amenities. For those visiting Shanghai, there is a stand-up comedy show nearby that is definitely worth checking out. The dining options are plentiful, and you can easily reach Siji Minfu within walking distance. The North Bund City Terrace and the Waibaidu Bridge are also within walking distance. The hotel rooms while clean, I think are a bit dated and due for refurbishment. The aircon wasn't really cool enough for us in the master bedroom area in one of our 2 interconnecting rooms. Also while the spread at breakfast seemed quite large. The variety was quite limited and rotation limited as well for the 4 nights we stayed. We had no choice but to stay here because we wanted a hotel with guaranteed interconnecting rooms that was within walking distance to Nanjing Road, which strangely we could book on Trip.com but not on the Marriott Bonvoy app. So we couldn't get points for our 4 nights stays which was frustrating. The Grand Central Hotel Shanghai is located next to Nanjing road so it’s very central. The decoration of the hotel looks a bit outdated which lots of golden colors and palm trees in the lobby. Upon my arrival the concierge staff helped to take out my luggage from the car and as we were walking inside he wanted to store my luggage and telling me that check in was at 2pm. I arrived at 12pm. I told him I will go to the reception first and brought my luggage with me. The receptionist checked my booked and said the room isn’t ready and asked me to wait. As I was very tired I asked how long I need to wait and he said until 2pm. I asked if I could perhaps double check at 1 pm and he said ok. I checked again at 1pm and the room wasn’t ready. Finally I got the room at about 1:40. The room size was good and the maintenance of the room was ok although a bit worn out but the decoration looks very outdated and makes the room look more old. Moreover, they had some old brochures in the room which doesn’t really apply to today’s needs such as an old Shanghai yellow pages catalogue etc. Furthermore, there was two bottles of water in the room with tags and on the tag it was clearly stated that only two bottles of water is provided per day per room and additional water bottles will be charged at 10RMB per bottle. I think this makes the hotel seem stingy, supposedly stating that it’s a five star hotel. Haven’t encountered this at hotels with lower star ratings that I stayed at. Another issue was that the HBO channel on the TV didn’t work and that was the only foreign channel on the tv for movies so perhaps international travelers wouldn’t have much to watch. My stay was so so.. the most positive aspect being the central location.

Review: The Langham Shanghai — Still Well-Located, But No Longer the Same The Langham Shanghai has long been one of my preferred hotels, especially before the pandemic. After many stays, I’ve come to expect a certain standard of hospitality, consistency, and refinement. This recent visit, however, showed a noticeable decline across several areas. Service Overall service from the staff was acceptable. Front-line employees remained polite and tried their best. However, the manager on duty—a Caucasian manager—felt out of touch with Asian hospitality norms. His attitude came off as dismissive and rude, which immediately set the wrong tone. The contrast between the staff’s warmth and his behavior was striking. Breakfast Buffet The most significant drop was in the breakfast buffet. Quality has slipped in a way that’s hard to ignore: food didn’t taste as fresh, dishes weren’t as well prepared, and the overall selection felt uninspired compared to previous years. At this point, it’s honestly better to go out for breakfast. Room & Housekeeping Room cleanliness was fine, but small inconsistencies added up. Turn-down service was missed on some nights. When I requested water refill, the staff who arrived seemed confused about why she had been sent up, leading to an awkward exchange. These are small moments, but in a five-star hotel, they highlight cracks in training and coordination. Overall Impression The Langham Shanghai still has one unbeatable strength: location. But nearly everything else has declined—food, consistency, management attitude, and attention to detail. After years of loyalty, I’m now considering switching to a different hotel for future trips. The experience simply didn’t match the standards I’ve known and trusted from The Langham brand. A disappointing stay from a once-reliable favorite.

If you are thirsty, you can go downstairs at any time to have some drinks and fruits, which are all included in the hotel package. Why the deduction? I saw that several children could hardly soak in the water for a while. I don’t know why so many people complained. The Peace Hotel, a century-old legend and a Shanghai landmark. This iconic building, standing at the intersection of the Shanghai Bund and Nanjing East Road, is not just a symbol of Shanghai but also a condensed history of modern and contemporary China. Since its completion in 1929, it has witnessed the ups and downs of the Shanghai Bund and hosted countless historical figures. The Peace Hotel was built by the British Jewish businessman Sir Victor Sassoon and, upon its completion in 1929, was hailed as the 'First Building in the Far East' with a height of 77 meters. The architecture features a Chicago School Gothic style, with its distinctive emerald green pyramid copper roof becoming the most striking feature of the Bund's skyline. The exterior walls are constructed from granite blocks, while the lobby floor is paved with milky-white Italian marble, and antique bronze chandeliers adorn the ceiling, showcasing a perfect blend of traditional luxury and modernity. Checked in on a Saturday, so there were quite a few guests. Had to wait a bit but check-in was surprisingly fast. Lots of foreigners around. Booked through Trip.com and got a complimentary happy hour from 6 PM to 7:30 PM. Free-flow drinks with some cashews and mini cakes – not a huge variety, but the taste was decent. The hallways are a bit narrow and had a damp smell. Entering the room, you're greeted by a fully open-plan cave-style bathroom with a glowing bathtub – quite a sight! Hangers and slippers were in the cabinet next to the bed. No vanity table. The hairdryer wasn't a Dyson, and there was no speaker. There's an iPad to control the smart home features, an 'old iPad given a new lease on life' kind of deal. It was a bit slow to respond and had some translation issues (e.g., 'reading right' instead of 'right reading light'). There's a red light above the bed. If some hotels are overtly flamboyant, this one is subtly so. The room had a large round table, which was a bit amusing. The gym and pool are both on B1 and are relatively small. The cardio area is quite spacious. For beginners, the weightlifting equipment isn't very friendly, and there aren't many fixed machines. Breakfast is served until 11 AM and is very Shanghai-style: pan-fried dumplings, curry beef vermicelli, soup dumplings, congee, rice balls, etc. Everything you could want. The quality and taste are both excellent. Overall, it's pretty good. The Xintiandi area nearby is also great for strolling. It would be even better if they could upgrade the weightlifting equipment in the gym.

Five stars, no hesitation! This stay was absolutely perfect, from the ambiance to the service, everything was flawless. It truly is an architectural marvel that you *must* visit at least once in your life. I'm completely captivated after staying here. The hotel's environment is simply breathtaking! The world's only 88-meter-deep 'pit' hotel lives up to its reputation. Its unique design, built into the cliff face, exudes sophistication. The dynamic water curtain in the lobby is elegant and lively, and a glance out the window reveals stunning cliffside waterfalls. By day, you see the lush green mountains and rocky cliffs in perfect harmony; as evening falls, the lights illuminate, creating a serene and romantic atmosphere. Every corner showcases thoughtful design, incorporating a mining-inspired aesthetic. Every photo you take is magazine-worthy, offering an immersive experience of nature and architecture blending seamlessly. A special highlight was the 8:30 PM cliffside light and water show featuring themes from 'Shan Hai Jing' (Classic of Mountains and Seas) and a drone performance. Light and water intertwined, drones intricately depicted mythical imagery in the sky, and the cliff face transformed with dynamic light and shadow. The visual and auditory impact was incredible, creating an amazing atmosphere. It's an immersive dive into the collision of technology and culture, an experience definitely not to be missed. The room experience was a delightful surprise! The room design is simple yet grand, with meticulous attention to detail. The sapphire-themed interior felt luxurious. Thoughtful amenities like a Dyson hairdryer and high-end toiletries were provided, and the facilities were comprehensive and modern. The entire room was spotlessly clean, the bedding was soft and comfortable, and the independent bathtub and scenic balcony were definite bonuses. Waking up to the natural scenery in the morning was incredibly blissful, making for a perfectly comfortable stay. The dining experience was a culinary feast! The Chinese restaurant, Cai Feng Lou, lived up to its Black Pearl Restaurant rating. The beef was tender and juicy, and the soup was rich and flavorful. Every dish used high-quality ingredients and had authentic flavors, truly showcasing the essence of Chinese cuisine. The Western restaurant, Fish Eye, had an incredible ambiance, surrounded by an aquarium underwater. The seafood was fresh and sweet, and the Western dishes were exquisite and delicious, both visually appealing and tasty. Whether it was a main meal or a casual snack, everything was incredibly satisfying. And the service was impeccable! A special shout-out to our exclusive butler, Alice. From communicating our needs before check-in and providing detailed explanations of the facilities upon arrival, to offering thoughtful reminders and responding to requests throughout our trip, she was patient, attentive, and incredibly thorough. She anticipated every need, making the entire journey feel so warm and cared for. All the hotel staff were also enthusiastic and professional. The bellhops proactively helped with luggage, and the restaurant staff were attentive and meticulous. You could feel their genuine service attitude everywhere you went. The overall experience was absolutely fantastic. This stay was comprehensively satisfying. The environment, rooms, dining, and service all exceeded expectations. It's definitely a top choice for a vacation or getaway. I'm already looking forward to my next visit and highly recommend it to everyone! 🌟

Every time I come for a staycation, the hotel lobby feels bright and comfortable, and the service is excellent. I'd especially like to commend a lovely lady from Malaysia named ”Evelyn.” She's not only beautiful but also very professional and well-mannered! As soon as I arrived, she had already reserved a room for me on the 19th floor. The room was comfortable and tidy, and the housekeeping staff was also fantastic. Every time they saw me return, they knew my preferences and would specially prepare extra items I needed in the room. It truly felt like home, very warm and inviting. The coffee and tea used in the room and lounge are also imported. As for the hotel's breakfast, its quality hasn't declined over the years; in fact, it's gone up a level! The variety is richer, and the taste is superb! The hotel also has many other facilities, including a Shanghai cuisine restaurant, a Western restaurant, and a Cantonese Chinese restaurant. There's also a gym. The hotel also has a very comfortable terrace, perfect for chatting and relaxing~ I highly recommend everyone come and experience it; you definitely won't be disappointed!

The hotel has a fantastic number of staff. As soon as our car pulled up, an employee immediately came to take our luggage. We didn't have to wait; our bags were directly placed in our room with our room number. When checking out, we just dropped our luggage on the first floor, took a tag, and could leave – it was incredibly smooth. I imagine they could also arrange for someone to come to the room to pick up luggage for storage if needed. The details like courier services, automatic replenishment of personal amenities, children's bathrobes, and toys at the front desk were all delightful surprises. The room felt a little old and run down, and the television had a grainy screen with the sound for each channel varying greatly. We didnt ask reception to fix it as it was late and we intended to watch only for a while before going to bed. The bed and pillows were fantastic though. Breakfast spread was limited but there were 3 to 4 live cooking stations which made things interesting allowing guests to try their local stuff. Their guest service were responsive to emails and friendly. Lots of small eateries nearby though so an excellent location especially if you enjoy late night snacks.. about 6 mins walk to the metro, which is direct from the airport which is a huge plus. Staff service generally impeccable and lobby staff were quick to ask guest if they required help. Apart from the rather run down room and the grainy tv everything else was good.

For a weekend stress-buster, nothing beats a stay at the Sofitel Guangzhou in Tianhe District! Choosing a hotel with an executive lounge, a pool, and great views, without a packed itinerary, is so therapeutic. ❤️ It was a really nice experience with my family. The mural in the lobby is perfect for photos. The lobby service was also excellent; Mia from guest relations warmly welcomed us and even suggested we buy mooncakes. I got a box of 'Jin Yue' which was great and reasonably priced. The hotel staff were very thoughtful. Since we arrived too early and our room wasn't ready, Mia kindly brought us bottled water while we waited in the lobby and patiently answered all our questions! Really good. This time, I booked a room at the Sofitel Guangzhou. After packing light luggage, we headed out around noon. I heard before that Sheraton Grand Guangzhou Hotel was one of Sheraton's flagship properties in China, so I decided to check in for a night in an executive room. Overall, it was indeed quite good, especially in terms of dining, location, and service. It's definitely a hotel I'd consider returning to. [Thumbs up][Slightly observing] Service: There was someone dedicated to opening car doors at the hotel entrance. When I told the lobby staff we had booked an executive room and wanted to check in at the lounge, an intern, I assume, initially didn't understand and suggested we check in at the front desk. However, a lobby manager quickly came over and resolved the issue. Checking in at the lounge took a bit longer than expected because the staff there were also interns [crying with laughter]. The service at both the lounge and the restaurants was excellent; used plates were cleared very quickly, even when it was busy, which is commendable! [Thumbs up][Big laugh] Dining: The happy hour at this lounge seems quite famous, and it proved to be true. Dishes were promptly replenished, with 10 hot dishes, 4-5 of which were main courses (meats), and all were pretty good. There was a wide variety of desserts and a rich selection of drinks and alcoholic beverages. This happy hour is definitely among the best in Marriott's 'big cafeterias.' [Golden potato][Squinting eyes]. Breakfast also had a good variety, including specialty dishes like congee and Hong Kong-style milk tea, all of which were well-prepared. [Slightly observing][Big laugh] Room: The bedroom part has been renovated with a minimalist and attractive design. The bathroom, however, felt relatively older, creating a strong stylistic dissonance with the bedroom. The view was decent and quite expansive. The suites here seem to be the highlight. [Facepalm] Location: Super prime location. Downstairs are Tiyuxi and Tiyu Center subway stations, making it convenient to go anywhere, and taxis are easy to find. Next to it are TeeMall and Parc Central, so you don't have to worry about food or shopping. It's suitable for people with all sorts of travel needs. [Cute and adorable]

Outstanding Experience! Our stay at this hotel was truly exceptional. The hotel is impeccably clean, and the rooms are modern and well-maintained. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, making our stay even more enjoyable. The breakfast was delicious, offering a wide variety of options. We particularly loved the heated swimming pool, which was also very clean and well-maintained. Special thanks to the following staff members who made our trip even more wonderful: Juan (娟) from the front desk, who went out of her way to help us use the mobile app and use it to book a taxi for the first time. Leslie (健仔) from the lobby, who was very friendly and provided us with excellent advice on what to see in the city. Seto (司徒師傅) from the restaurant, who was also very friendly and gave us great recommendations on the best places to eat in the city. The only downside is that the hotel is a bit far from the subway (about a 10-15 minute walk), and the road can be a little quiet at night. However, this wasn't a problem for us once we learned how to use the mobile app for taxis, which are very affordable in the city. For the past three Christmases, my family and I have enjoyed a hotel vacation at Garden Hotel, and this year was no exception. We used a pre-purchased room voucher, and this year's special included dinner at the Summit Revolving Restaurant – once one of the city's most popular buffets, a must-visit when staying here. What truly stood out this time was the exceptional service from the staff. Their professionalism was top-notch, from the front desk to the guest services center and the buffet restaurant. Everyone was incredibly thoughtful and attentive, ensuring my twins had a fantastic weekend. Regarding the room, we were upgraded to an executive room, our first time staying in one here. The biggest difference from a standard suite was the significantly larger space, especially the bathroom. The view from the window directly overlooked Friendship Shopping Mall, and the evening lights truly gave it a 'city that never sleeps' vibe. Of course, there was one minor disappointment: their famous waterfall began renovations on December 7th and won't reopen until January 1st, 2026. I visited this hotel 20 years ago and recently returned. It's been renovated in recent years, and the environment is lovely, right by the Liuxi River valley with fresh air. The room was clean and tidy, and the bed and pillows were comfortable. The booking included two complimentary buffet breakfasts; I added one more for 149 RMB, but the selection wasn't extensive, the taste was mediocre, and it wasn't worth the price. The booking also included two hot spring passes, and I added another for 179 RMB. Since it was cold, I didn't try the large heated pool, but I enjoyed various hot spring pools. The water was refreshing, without the sulfurous 'rotten egg' smell typical of some hot springs. There were different functional pools, and since it was a Monday during the day, it wasn't crowded, making for a very relaxing soak. There's also paid massage therapy available. Each set of pools has a water dispenser and dry towels, and staff regularly bring complimentary Luo Han Guo tea – definitely a plus! The hot spring tickets were much better value than the breakfast. For family trips, the most economical option seems to be 2 adults and 2 children, or any even number of adults.

My room was a luxurious suite with private bath tub (around hkd 3000 for two nights including breakfast). Hardware is definitely exceptional. However when it comes to service it is below standard: 1) front desk - service was poor without any greetings such as bell boy. Front desk officers were unhappy without any eye contact when they talk to you. No hospitality at all; 2) breakfast - the quality both food and service were not up to a 4 or 5 star service. Table was not clean, staffs were almost unfriendly, except one female manager and one staff, all staffs were rushing their task and unwelcoming. I believe the hotel management need to motivate their staff ,otherwise, people won’t come again. 3) Amnenties - room is a luxurious suite with private bath tub, massage chair, kitchen , dining table and queen bed. The tub was not very clean, with water splitting . Such a waste as their service was not meeting the standard of what it is expected to be a 5- star resort. (The environment, garden were nicely decorated indeed) The Hot Spring pool is well known but I have’s try so cannot comment. The Four Seasons here is for sure on par with other top Four Seasons in London and New York. Their service team cares about your smallest preferences which are usually met that you can feel their warm and gentle kindness. When you find any issues that may lead to dissatisfaction, they will make corrections in quite a timely manner. These are all the reasons why you should consider lodging here accompanying you to start a wonderful journey in Guangzhou.

Room: Newly Renovated (Zhenpin, 臻品). Modern, clean, fully furnished. Comfortable bed, a bit on the hard type, but not too hard. TV has international channels. Comes with small fridge. Lighting not the brightest, but sufficient . Has night lights. Carpet does need a bit of upgrade , luckily well maintained, no smell/odour. Air conditioning is strong. Overall clean and comfortable room. Bathroom: Huge shower room for standing showering, bath tub next to window with view of Zhujiang/Pearl River and Guangzhou Tower, and separate room for toilet. Water pressure is strong for showering. The only slight inconvenience is no bidet/hose, but has another basin right next to toilet seat, so not too bad. Facilities: Full fledged gym, from third party vendo. Good go beginner to professional gym goers. Launderette is convenient, clean, modern, and free of charge. Just need to queue a bit during peak hours. Breakfast buffet: Gorgeous view of Guangzhou Tower & Zhujiang Pearl River. Food variety is adequate, International selection. Location: Strategic. Quite near Beijing Road, but on the quieter area. Need to walk 2-5mins to the nearest popular eatery and convenience store. Next to the hotel is an old mall, has Luckin coffee, some fashion shops.

This hotel is perfect for families with kids on a city break in Guangzhou. The dining, entertainment, and recreation facilities are almost on par with a resort in Sanya, meaning you could easily spend two or three days here without even leaving the premises. Plus, with Pazhou Metro Station and the Pearl River sightseeing train right outside, getting around is also very convenient. One downside is that there are no plastic slippers in the hotel rooms, which makes it inconvenient when heading to the outdoor pool. I noticed many guests, like myself, were wearing cotton slippers to the pool, which quickly got wet and could lead to slips.

The hotel was conveniently located a short walk away from the metro and is easily identifiable due to its unique design. There are a few malls nearby that has sufficient eateries. Few street food available though within walking distance. We were given a room on the top floor and the room felt new, modern and sufficiently bright. Lounge canapes had variety, and breakfast was excellent with many local delicacies. Staff very friendly, helpful and responsive on wechat. An excellent stay and would certainly stay again if I go back to Guangzhou.

This was my first time in Guangzhou and my third Ritz-Carlton experience. Compared to the aging Portman Ritz-Carlton in Shanghai and the East-meets-West style of the Sanya Ritz, the Guangzhou Ritz offers a understated yet refined luxury. From the moment we arrived at the hotel entrance from the airport until checking in at the club lounge, we experienced professional and perfectly balanced service. Every staff member we encountered had a warm and friendly smile on their face. This trip to Guangzhou was primarily a vacation with my fiancée, and I planned a proposal, which was a complete success. Of course, the proposal's success was largely due to the support and assistance from General Manager Louis Fang. I also want to thank Manager Zhang from the club for helping me with some minor issues, as well as the perfect night view outside our window and the meticulous and professional service from all the club staff. My wife and I had a perfect stay, and this visit will become a beautiful memory for us.

The President Hotel Guangzhou definitely deserves five stars! The breakfast was the most pleasant surprise, with an incredibly rich buffet featuring both Chinese and Western options. They had hot dishes, Cantonese dim sum, congee, noodles, rice, Western pastries, and fresh fruit. The ingredients were fresh and plentiful, and everything tasted great. Starting the day with such a satisfying meal really made my day! The accommodation was comfortable, and the service was attentive. I'll definitely choose this hotel again next time I'm in Guangzhou!

Fantastic! It was a perfect experience from the software (service) to the hardware (facilities)👍👍👍! The breakfast was incredibly rich, and the shrimp wontons were handmade on-site, super fresh! There were three coffee machines at the restaurant entrance, near the window seats, and in the middle, which were not only convenient for guests to grab coffee anytime, but you could also pack it to go and enjoy it in your room after finishing your meal. This attention to guest experience is truly thoughtful! Flawless 👏👏👏! As a Ctrip VIP, my room was upgraded upon check-in, and the room was absolutely beautiful 😻😻😻! The design is very user-friendly; the separate toilet is near the entrance, which is a clever placement 👍👍👍. The smart toilet automatically lifts its lid as you approach the bathroom door. The vanity and the bathtub/shower are together, which is very practical! Also, the light switches in each area allow for both master on/off and individual control, which is very eco-friendly, convenient, and user-centric! A highly satisfying stay with excellent value for money!

This was my first time staying at a DoubleTree; I usually go for Hilton. The view is fantastic, and Winnie at the front desk even upgraded me to a Cookie Suite during check-in. The Old Town view is amazing; you can see the old TV tower and Yuexiu Mountain. Breakfast was also delicious with a great variety. The only thing that needs improvement is that when I went to the Executive Lounge in the evening, it was probably crowded, and there wasn't much food left, so I had to go eat elsewhere. I hope they can improve that. Everything else was great.

The bed is fairly comfortable and the duvet and pillow are hotel quality. There is a shower facility included in the area so if this is something required, guests can make use of this as well during their stay. A Perfect Interpretation of Luxury | The Ritz-Carlton, Shenzhen Stay Exceeded All Expectations! I finally had the chance to stay at The Ritz-Carlton, Shenzhen, and this three-day, two-night trip completely surpassed my expectations! From the moment I stepped into the lobby, it felt like entering an elegant and serene world. 📍 Excellent Location The hotel is located in the Futian central business district, connected to the Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center, making it extremely convenient for both business trips and leisure shopping. You can walk to Shopping Park and enjoy the dazzling city nightscape in the evenings – truly a prime location. 🏨 Room Experience: Luxury in Every Detail I stayed in a Deluxe Lake View Room. The room was spacious and bright, with floor-to-ceiling windows offering stunning views of Shenzhen Bay. The bedding was soft and comfortable, and the European-style marble bathroom, paired with Asprey bath amenities, made shower time exceptionally soothing. The turndown service each evening thoughtfully included a weather forecast card – these little details made me feel truly cared for. 🍽 Dining Experience: A Feast for the Palate Breakfast was at 'Xing Kong' (meaning 'Starry Sky') restaurant, with a rich selection and extremely high quality; the freshly baked Danish pastries are still unforgettable. I also tried dinner at 'Paletto' Italian Restaurant. The chef's recommended black truffle pasta was rich and authentic, and the waiter's wine pairing suggestions were very professional. 💎 Service Quality: Impeccable and Thoughtful I must say, The Ritz-Carlton's service truly embodies the concept of ”guests first.” The concierge not only helped plan my local sightseeing itinerary but also secretly prepared a handwritten card and a small cake when they learned it was my birthday. Every staff member naturally addressed guests by name – this meticulous attention left a deep impression. 🏊 Facilities and Atmosphere The swimming pool and fitness center are well-equipped, and the lush greenery around the pool creates a resort-like ambiance. The 'ESPA' treatment at the spa completely relaxed me; the techniques were professional, and the environment was private, definitely recommended for travelers who seek quality. 📌 Summary If you're looking for a trip that blends business convenience with a relaxing getaway, The Ritz-Carlton, Shenzhen is absolutely the ideal choice. It not only offers top-notch hardware facilities but also creates unforgettable memories with its warm and heartfelt service. The environment here is a reflection of how subpar Shenzhen's city planning is! There's construction happening all around. I asked the front desk for a quiet room, and they assured me it wouldn't be noisy. To my surprise, it truly was quiet – a miracle! The room came with a charging cable, a UK-style power outlet, a fridge, and the TV was clear and easy on the eyes, with a working remote. Even though the window was sealed, there were no strange odors in the room or hallway, thanks to scheduled air purification. The lobby takes up almost an entire floor and has a grand, historic feel to it. The nearby convenience store was also well-stocked and useful. First of all, a big thank you to Trip.com Concierge! Always available 24/7 for Trip.com members! I placed an order at 5:55 PM that day and used Trip.com Concierge to request a ”high floor, (subject to room availability) room upgrade.” Arrived at the hotel at 8:00 PM... There was no doorman, security, or bellhop from the hotel staff... The only person at the front desk was a guy wearing black-rimmed glasses! When checking in, I asked if he had seen the Trip.com notes... He said he hadn't but directly upgraded me to a suite (1638). I'd like to express my gratitude for that! Since there was no bellhop, we had no choice but to drag our luggage directly to the room... The door stopper for the room door (see picture 2) was broken, and the hallway leading to the room was completely dark when the door was opened (see picture 1) (this was taken after closing the door). (There's no light in the hallway from the closed door to the middle of the room.) Fumbling in the dark, I found the slot for the power card and inserted the room's own power card. I was still carrying my luggage, and the door wasn't held by the door stopper... My companion, who was following behind with luggage, was hit by the door! It hurt a lot! So I contacted the hotel staff through Trip.com Concierge to report the issue... We waited in the room for over an hour! Around 9:30 PM, Ms. Liu, the hotel's night shift manager, came to the room and told us that there was an emergency light in the hallway near the room that we could use! However, the entrance to the hallway was indeed very dark (I wonder why the hotel designed it that way?). Manager Liu immediately offered to move us to a twin room on the 17th floor or an executive king room on the 24th floor... We asked if we could pay extra (make up the difference) to upgrade to an executive suite? (The hotel's mini-program was down that night, so we couldn't see the hotel prices. Manager Liu said we could refer to the prices on Trip.com and that they could offer some discount, but she would need to ask her supervisor for approval.) Manager Liu advised against upgrading to an executive suite that night! We accepted Manager Liu's suggestion! And we were touched by Manager Liu's sincerity! After all, it's rare for a hotel's on-duty manager to consider the guests' needs! Ms. Liu, the hotel's night shift manager, is diligent and responsible! She conscientiously informed us that all deluxe suites were sold out that night and that the executive suites had some leakage due to the typhoon! We did see towels placed on the windowsill of room 2438 at the time! Manager Liu also consulted with her colleagues in engineering! Manager Liu showed us a total of three rooms! We said we were fine returning to 1638 (the retro-style room was also quite unique... it was a suite after all). Manager Liu warmly invited us to stay in the king room on the executive floor on the 24th floor! During our discussions and room viewings, we also got a general idea of the hotel's layout (below the 16th floor is not renovated – 80s/90s five-star hotel luxury style, once glorious – above the 17th floor is newly renovated, with a brighter and livelier style). Manager Liu was also very thoughtful and had the front desk remake the room cards and send them up! Manager Liu also informed us that the hotel doesn't offer room service after 11:00 PM and personally came to the room to deliver two bottles of water! We once again felt Manager Liu's sincerity!! Ms. Liu, the night shift manager, is from Northeast China and is very warmhearted! Manager Liu represented the hotel in resolving the issue, and we could feel the hotel's warmth! We chose to stay! Manager Liu also informed us that we could extend our stay in the current room! Here, I would like to thank Ms. Liu, the hotel's night shift manager, and the hotel's night shift? Or perhaps the day shift? The guy at the front desk wearing black-rimmed glasses! It's not scary to have problems... what's scary is not having an attitude... Once the problem is solved, Trip.com guests will still give your hotel a 5.0 rating!

The hotel's guest manager, Xiao Teng, is lovely, kind-hearted, and provides incredibly thoughtful service. She meticulously records all my requests and details, which is truly attentive and shows great consideration for guests. The hotel lobby has already started setting up Christmas decorations, creating a wonderful atmosphere. In the morning, I even saw Xiao Teng with a cart selling freshly baked sweet potatoes. She greeted us very warmly, offered my husband and me two sweet potatoes, and thoughtfully poured two cups of hot coffee ☕. She even gave us two wet wipes, anticipating that we might get our hands dirty – super considerate! Her excellent service truly enhanced our experience. I chose to stay at the Grand Hyatt Shenzhen Airport for the Mayday concert in the Greater Bay Area this time, and I received excellent care throughout my stay. I'm truly touched and grateful! Since the concert venue was quite remote, the hotel thoughtfully arranged a shuttle bus, which solved a huge commuting problem. Three staff members helped everyone check in, and after the concert, they even held up a hotel sign at a designated spot, waiting for fans to gather before leading us to the bus (the bus even played songs, which was incredible!). The whole process was seamless and incredibly reliable. After I was back in my room and settled, I saw that many fans were still stranded at the venue late at night, unable to return to Shenzhen, and I just felt so fortunate! The hotel experience itself was also very comfortable. The soundproofing was top-notch; I couldn't hear any takeoffs or landings from the airport runway. The room amenities, cleanliness, and service were all first-rate. Plus, I had lunch twice at the Chinese restaurant, and the beef brisket with radish was absolutely delicious! I didn't have to worry about missing my early morning flight after the concert either. All in all, it was a fantastic experience! I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Shenzhen!

I had read some reviews beforehand saying the hotel had been around for a while, so I didn't have high expectations. Staying for three nights, I kept thinking how glad I was to have booked this hotel. I've already recommended it to friends planning to visit Xi'an. I stayed in an executive room. Although I didn't get an upgrade, the room was spacious and very nice. The breakfast and executive lounge were great, especially the Roujiamo (Chinese hamburger) and Yangrou Paomo (pita bread soaked in lamb soup) at breakfast – they were absolutely delicious! On the second night, when I was alone and speaking with another staff member, they kindly offered to help pack the dessert to go—and even remembered to pack three bowls for me, just like the night before. We stayed for two nights, on the 16th and 17th. On the 15th, I received a call from the hotel asking about our room preferences. I requested a room with a good view, non-smoking, and quiet. When we checked in, the staff assigned us room 213. This was the lowest floor I've ever stayed on in a hotel, and it was room number 13! I was surprised that the hotel actually had a room 13! How could an international hotel like this assign room 13 to a foreigner? During afternoon tea that day, besides my husband, myself, and an Asian mother and daughter, all the other guests were foreigners. This made me realize even more why I was so unlucky to get room 13! This hotel has such a unique room number 13, and they treat their own compatriots differently from foreigners! However, the smart toilet in room 13 was broken. It wouldn't automatically lift the lid or flush when you stood in front of it. What was even more unbearable was that as soon as you sat on it, the toilet would make a loud gurgling sound and automatically spray water on your backside. We tried it twice, and it happened both times. Also, the light switch was malfunctioning and didn't work. As a result, our room was changed to room 206. Neither room 13 nor room 06 had a French garden view; you could only see trees outside the window. Room 06 overlooked a concrete platform. I stayed during the off-season, and there were only a handful of guests at both afternoon tea and breakfast. Even during the peak breakfast time at 8 AM, there were only four tables with no more than ten guests. In such an off-season, why couldn't they offer us a higher floor with a better view? The male butler from the hotel called in advance on the 15th to ask about my room preferences; wasn't that just being insincere and fake? The staff's service level was inconsistent. Two female servers at afternoon tea and breakfast simply didn't observe guests' needs. The slim, tall female server in the afternoon tea restaurant had an ice-cold expression and no proactive service awareness. One female server in the breakfast restaurant looked like she hadn't woken up yet, with messy hair, no makeup, and ill-fitting work clothes, completely lacking the demeanor of a star-rated hotel employee. More importantly, this server didn't proactively observe guests' tables. Every time, we had to call her to take away the empty plates. Even more exaggerated, when she took away empty plates, she wouldn't simultaneously take away empty cups, nor would she think to ask. Let's talk about the problems with the breakfast restaurant: First, the flowers on the dining tables were fake! For a 'diamond-level' hotel like this, how can they put fake flowers on the tables? If they want to save costs, there are many ways: place some air plants or soilless succulents, or even small, easy-to-care-for plants. Anything real would be more tasteful than these fake ones. Regardless, a 'diamond-level' hotel should not have fake flowers on its dining tables. This is disrespectful to guests. Second, there was a wide variety of bread, but no chain-type toaster to heat the bread. This is usually a staple at the bread station in five-star hotels. Yet, at this 'super five-star' hotel, you can only eat cold bread for breakfast. Third, the restaurant only provided toothpicks, not dental floss sticks. Nowadays, even very ordinary restaurants offer dental floss sticks. A 'diamond-level' hotel like this should provide guests with dental floss sticks, and ideally, toothpick brushes. Additionally, the steps in the bathrooms of both room 13 and room 06 were damaged. In room 13, the hotel actually used cheap, uneven gray adhesive corner guards, which looked very out of place and clashed with the exquisite French decor. They should have used brass stair nosings! During my two-day stay at the hotel, Ms. Doris Du's kindness, politeness, proactive work attitude, and professional image left a very good impression on me. After we checked in and received our key, she led us to our room. She first gave us a tour of the hotel and introduced its history. On the day we checked out, she happened to be on duty at the front desk. She was the only staff member at the hotel who immediately stood up to greet guests upon seeing them! The only one! This small professional gesture of hers was like the first ray of sunshine in the morning, warming my heart! Recalling my check-in, there was a male and female staff member at the front desk. They did not stand up to greet us when guests checked in. When we received our room cards and got up to leave, they remained seated without moving. This is disrespectful to guests. Staff should stand up to greet guests when they arrive, ask them to sit down, and then sit down themselves to process the check-in. When guests receive their room cards and get up, the staff should also stand up to see them off. Such basic courtesies of polite welcome and farewell were completely lacking! On the day I checked in, I had two items of clothing that needed ironing. The female staff member who was on duty at the front desk that day came to our room to collect them. During the process of opening the door to see her, handing her the clothes, and briefly communicating with her, she maintained an ice-cold demeanor throughout, without a hint of a smile. She was not the only female staff member in this hotel who provided service without a smile. In summary, all these issues, and more, expose the hotel's unprofessional training and inadequate management. Sofitel Legend People's Grand Hotel Xian is not directly affiliated with the Sofitel group; it is part of the People's Grand Building owned by Shaanxi Urban Investment and Operations Group Co., Ltd., and is operated by AccorHotels, a French hotel management group. Therefore, the experience was vastly different from the Sofitel hotels I've stayed at abroad.

High-tech Development Zone Xi'an|9.65km from downtown
We booked a Deluxe Room (70 sqm, with an open-plan layout featuring a sofa and bed in one spacious area) and a Family Room (which felt like four rooms in one, starting with a small living room, then the bedroom, followed by a dressing room, and finally the bathroom). The evening spread at the Grand Club Lounge was excellent, with themes changing daily – we enjoyed American and Korean cuisine during our stay. Both rooms were very large and comfortable. There are plenty of restaurants just a 500-meter walk away. The Grand Hyatt series definitely offers great value for money!

The skyscraper is very large and beautiful. The rooms are nice and have all the amenities. We were given a free room upgrade. There's a beautiful pool and a gym available. Towels were changed and the bathroom was cleaned every day. Breakfast was a buffet with all kinds of food, with chefs preparing typical Xi'an dishes on the spot. Above all, the staff was very kind, accommodating all our requests and offering us yogurt drinks, desserts, and soups for dinner or a snack completely free of charge. Some of the staff speak English, but with WeChat, you can communicate with a translation tool. I recommend it! Excellent value for money.

Qujiang Exhibition Area Xi'an|7.19km from downtown
We arrived late at night after a long drive. I had already noted in the booking that we needed two adjoining rooms. However, the rooms we were assigned were in an extremely remote location, almost at the end of the corridor, and upon entering, there was a strong smell of smoke. With children in tow, we had no choice but to request a room change. Although the new room was closer to the elevator, the sofa was a short one, inconsistent with the promotional photos. The next day, we discovered that our window faced directly onto the parking lot entrance and the kitchen chimney, and there was no balcony, making the comfort level extremely poor. During our discussion, the duty manager tried to shirk responsibility, claiming to be new and unfamiliar with the room types, but he has actually been employed for over three months (I saw your name in other reviews). His professionalism needs improvement. Although he later worked very diligently to bring in a longer sofa as a remedy, it took over an hour, leaving the room in a mess and severely impacting our check-in experience. Considering an average price of 1600 per night, and as a luxury hotel brand, room allocation and housekeeping services should not have these issues. I recommend choosing this hotel with caution. Additionally, none of the special activities included in our package were utilized.

Awesome stay experience, worth unlimited repurchase! I chose this hotel for this trip, from booking to check-out, full of surprises, completely exceeding expectations! First of all, praise the location, just in the core business district of the city center, a few minutes walk to the subway station, the surrounding dining, convenience stores, Kaiyuan shopping malls are not far away. Whether it is business travel or tourism, it is super convenient to check in, saving a lot of commute time. When checking in, the front desk staff was very enthusiastic, took the initiative to help with luggage, patiently answered various questions, and also intimately informed the surrounding play guide and breakfast time, the processing speed is also very fast, no need to wait for a long time. Entering the room was amazing instantly, the room was more spacious and bright than the picture, the decoration style was simple and atmospheric without losing warmth, the facilities and equipment were all available and very new. The mattress is moderately firm, the bedding is clean and tidy with a faint fragrance, and the height of the pillow is also very suitable, so that I, a light sleeper, can sleep well all night. The space is spacious and not crowded, the hot water supply is timely and the water temperature is stable, the toiletries are branded, the texture is very good, even the wind of the hair dryer is very sufficient. The WiFi signal in the room is full, the drama and office are not stuck at all, the TV programs are also very rich, and the details are full of intimate. Breakfast is a highlight! The restaurant is clean and tidy, with rich and varied dishes, Chinese buns, porridge, hot dishes, Western bread, coffee, salad, fresh fruit and exquisite desserts, fresh ingredients, authentic taste, can meet the needs of different tastes. The staff will replenish the dishes in time, clean up the table is also very diligent, and the dining experience is particularly good. In addition, the public areas of the hotel are also very clean, the elevator runs smoothly and quickly, there is no smell in the corridor, and it is also equipped with a fitness room and laundry room. The fitness equipment is complete. The laundry room equipment is also very new. It is too practical for people who travel for a long time. The staff was also efficient and fast when checking out, and also took the initiative to ask about the check-in experience, which was especially warm. All in all, this was a perfect stay experience, no matter the location, room facilities, catering service or the attitude of the staff, it was impeccable. Next time you come to this city, you will definitely choose this hotel, and I highly recommend it to friends who plan to travel, and you will definitely not be disappointed!

Location near to bell tower but need to walk to main road if you take didi, and the reception will not help on this. Clean room but smelly due to humid, cleaner are super helpful but the attitude of these reception (except the young lady in evening shift) are all are “Manxin”, not up to the standard. Overall ok, but you could get better service if you choose other hotels. Also, no gift and room upgrade as shown in reservation, like fake advertising.

Everything is good. They only have one washing machine and heater. So we need to wait for some time to wash our cloths as we stay over there for one weeks. Remarkable service from Soon Xiao Ni and the crew provide daily breakfast. She is professionalism, attention to detail, and kindness made a big difference. I truly appreciate her dedication to her works.

The room was great, fully equipped, and especially quiet. It's very close to Xi'an North Railway Station, and they offer a shuttle service, which is perfect for guests catching trains from there. Dining and shopping nearby are very convenient. Plus, it's away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The room service was good, affordable, and the staff had a great attitude. Breakfast was decent, and all the staff, though a bit older, were exceptionally friendly.
