"We stayed here for 2 nights and had a pleasant experience overall. It’s worth noting that this is more like a small, privately run homestay rather than a traditional hotel, which gives it a more personal and cozy atmosphere. We booked the family room, which was clean, comfortable, and spacious. The bathroom was also quite spacious and well maintained. The location is a little unusual, as the property is tucked away at the side/corner of a street. However, getting around is still convenient with DiDi. It is relatively close to Lijiang Old Town, so it’s a good option if that is where you plan to spend most of your time. If you prefer to stay closer to Baisha Old Town, this may not be the most convenient location for you. The staff were very friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay. They provide complimentary afternoon tea as well as a ******* tea tasting experience, which was a really nice touch. One thing to take note of is that there is no lift. Breakfast and afternoon tea are served on the top floor, which I think is the 5th floor (if i remember correctly), so be prepared to climb quite a few flights of stairs! 😂 If your room is located on the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th floor, you will also need to use the stairs every time you go up and down, which can be quite tiring after a long day of sightseeing. Luckily, our room was on the ground floor, so we escaped the stair workout! 😂 Overall, we had a good experience. The room was clean and comfortable, the staff were lovely, and the complimentary tea experiences added a nice personal touch to our stay. Just be prepared for the stairs!"

"The location is absolutely fantastic, right in the South Gate area of the Old Town, but you avoid the crowds at the South Gate. Just navigate to the parking lot entrance, and it's a 3-4 minute walk to the hotel. Along the way, there are plenty of decent restaurants, snack shops, and rice noodle stalls. The owner is incredibly welcoming, and the guide to attractions and locations they provided was extremely helpful – such thoughtfulness is truly rare. It's very close to the Mu Palace, a 7-8 minute walk with navigation, perfect for my elderly mother who can't walk much. PS: 1️⃣ I was initially worried about the hassle of transporting luggage inside the Old Town, but the guesthouses there all use small carts, so there's no need to worry about damaging your suitcase. 2️⃣ Transportation within the Old Town is incredibly convenient; you can easily walk back to the hotel, and each walk reveals a different view. 3️⃣ Choosing a guesthouse is a matter of fate. I highly recommend Xiaorui (the hostel owner) – she was very sincere in her recommendations over the phone, had insightful views on traveling in Lijiang, which deeply attracted me. Her straightforward personality also made this trip possible. I feel a connection with Lijiang! I highly recommend Lijiang Old Town! 4️⃣ You can see the starry sky from the window of the room above your head—making up for not seeing any stars in Shuanglang⭐"

"The location of Shannian Hotel is absolutely superb, right next to Lijiang Old Town. It’s only a 5-10 minute walk from the main city road, so lugging suitcases isn't too much of a pain. Plus, the hotel has its own parking, which is very convenient for those driving. It's also near Amand. The butler proactively helped us with our luggage, and the service was very attentive. The hotel is nestled halfway up the mountain, and our room's window faced Jade Dragon Snow Mountain directly. On a clear day, sipping a drink in the room while watching the sunset over the snowy peaks was incredibly therapeutic. It's about a 15-minute walk to the bustling Sifang Street, and you get to wander through the old town and browse small shops along the way – the pace is just perfect. I have to give a special shout-out to the butler team here; they are genuine and warm Naxi people who made us feel truly welcome. The butler even gave my son a small couplet written in Dongba script, which he loved – it was such a thoughtful and personal gift. The breakfast selection is a bit simple and could be improved, but the free freshly ground coffee in the morning was a pleasant surprise; the beans were excellent quality. My only minor suggestion would be to have the coffee available for the entire breakfast duration (which starts at 8 AM), as many people like to have coffee with their meal. Overall, it's about a 30-40 minute drive from the airport, and spending three days and two nights here to relax and unwind was far more enjoyable than visiting many popular destinations. It's definitely a place I'd love to return to."

"Bringing my family for a vacation to Lijiang, choosing Xinkai Hotel was definitely the right decision! The hotel's location is superb; it's just a seven or eight-minute walk from the hotel to the Southwest Gate entrance of Lijiang Old Town, and a ten-minute walk to Zhongyi Market's food street. During the day, it's super easy to explore Sifang Street and check out popular shops in the Old Town without having to rush out early. As an established four-star hotel, it has a complete range of amenities. The rooms are spacious, the bedding is clean and soft, and the bathroom facilities are well-maintained. There's also a public courtyard for relaxing. What impressed us most was the service; both the front desk and housekeeping staff were very friendly and patiently answered all our questions. They even thoughtfully provided us with tips to avoid tourist traps in the Old Town. Parking was also hassle-free for those driving, as the free and secure parking lot is located right within the hotel's premises. Our family had a comfortable and peaceful stay, and the value for money was exceptional. I heard they're planning renovations, so I hope to choose this hotel again next time I visit Lijiang."
