Hakata Fukuoka|1.44km from downtown
The hotel is very close to the airport; a taxi ride costs no more than 2000 JPY, and the subway is also very convenient. The room is quite spacious, and toiletries, skincare products, and slippers are all provided. As it was New Year's, the hotel organized a series of events, such as a New Year's Eve concert and countdown in the lobby, giving out adzuki bean cakes, and hanging festive ornaments. I left an item behind when checking out, and I was able to contact the hotel and retrieve it through Ctrip's dedicated customer service. The hotel arranged for EMS to ship it back to my home country. Communication with both Ctrip and the hotel's customer service was smooth, with quick and attentive responses. The only minor drawbacks were that the hotel did not provide body lotion, and the sheets and comforter weren't quite comfortable enough.

This hotel boasts an excellent location, right across from Hakata Station (Chikushi Exit). It's connected to Hankyu Department Store and AMU PLAZA, and there are tons of drugstores, yakiniku restaurants, and ramen shops nearby. What I loved most were the abundance of brunch coffee shops! It's only two stops to Tenjin and two stops to the airport. There's also an airport shuttle bus (310 JPY, cashless payment only) directly across from the hotel. The cleanliness and staff service were absolutely fantastic!

The staff, especially Mina, were super friendly and helpful 😊. The laundry service was awesome - fast and efficient! 🚀 The hotel's location is a winner, with a tax-free shopping mall right next door 🛍️. And the food in the basement, spot on! 🍴 We will definitely be back!

Here's a review of the hotel: 📍 **Location & Transportation: Extremely Convenient** The hotel boasts a prime location in central Fukuoka, just a 3-minute walk (approx. 190 meters) from Exit 6 of Nakasu-Kawabata Subway Station, making arrivals and departures incredibly easy. It's within walking distance of popular attractions like Canal City Hakata (10-minute walk), the Anpanman Children's Museum (just steps away), and the Tenjin shopping district. Direct subway access from Fukuoka Airport makes it ideal for both business and leisure travelers. 🏨 **Service & Facilities: The Craftsmanship of an Established Hotel** - **Service Attitude**: The staff are professional and courteous, always greeting guests with a smile or a bow. The front desk offers English and Chinese services (during specific hours), ensuring smooth communication. - **Room Experience**: Although the hotel opened relatively early (1999, renovated in 2008), it's well-maintained. Room sizes are spacious by Japanese standards (twin rooms are approximately 30㎡), with good natural light and excellent blackout curtains. Toiletries include the Sekkisei series, along with Larm brand amenities, all of high quality. - **Facility Highlights**: Features an indoor pool, fitness center, and parking (1500-2000 JPY/night for overnight guests). A back exit provides direct access to the canal, making it barrier-free for stroller or wheelchair users. 🍽️ **Dining: Rich and Unique Breakfast Options** The breakfast offers both Japanese and Western selections, including local specialties like **Mizutaki rice, crispy puff pastries, and seasonal fruits (such as large Fukuoka persimmons)**. The taste receives high praise, but be aware that breakfast is quite pricey (approx. 3000 JPY/person). It's recommended to book a room with breakfast included or join their membership for discounts. ⚠️ **Minor Regrets & Suggestions** - **Slightly Outdated Bathroom**: The bathtub design feels a bit dated, but this has little impact on guests who prefer showering. - **Limited Housekeeping Hours**: Room cleaning is only available from 9 AM to 1 PM. If you plan to return late, you'll need to arrange it in advance. - **Check-in/Check-out Times**: Check-in is after 3 PM, and check-out is before 11 AM, so plan your itinerary accordingly. 💎 **Summary: A Classic Choice Worth Repeated Stays** The Hotel Okura Fukuoka stands out for its prime location, attention to service details, and excellent breakfast. Despite a few minor flaws, the overall experience far exceeded expectations. It's particularly suitable for families and business travelers, and I would definitely choose it again for my next visit to Fukuoka!

Not recommended. The main reason is the inconvenient location. It's about a kilometer walk to the Tenjin area, and the subway station is in an awkward spot. Even if you take the train one stop to Tenjin-Minami, you still have a walk afterwards. I'd suggest staying closer to Tenjin, even if it means sacrificing a bit of space; proximity is better. Cleanliness: Average. They didn't even clean up the previous guest's cotton swabs. Service: Pretty good. The hotel overall is quite old and doesn't even have a swimming pool. I don't think it's worth the price. Other than being a bit more spacious and having room for a suitcase, I don't see much else that's great about it.

This hotel, located in the Hakata Station area, offers a shuttle bus service that takes about half an hour to reach the property. However, it's important to note that on weekdays, there are only a few scheduled trips to the hotel. On holidays, the free round-trip shuttle runs all day, approximately once an hour. During my stay, which was on a weekday, only the 10 AM and 11 AM shuttle buses were available for departure; there were no other times, so calling a taxi was more convenient. The hotel offers both Japanese and Western dining options, a simple gym, and a nice public onsen. Since the hotel is situated on a mountain, it's not overly crowded, making for a more comfortable stay. My room this time had a good view, and the lobby has been renovated. However, the room only had a shower stall and no bathtub, which guests should be aware of.

Although the hotel is a bit older, the service and hygiene standards still meet IHG's expectations. The location is excellent, less than a 10-minute walk from Hakata Station (exit 22), and it's all flat ground, so no issues with luggage. Hakata Station has Hankyu Department Store, and downstairs there are many restaurants, cafes, and bakeries.

The room is spacious, and the hotel is located right within a park, making it very convenient to explore. The hotel's Japanese lunch is quite good. The hotel offers a shuttle service to and from Hakata Station, but seating is limited. Those who queue up later might miss out, especially on the 12 PM shuttle, so it's wise for guests to have a backup plan.

This is the best Ritz-Carlton we have ever visited! The hotel is very new, and the valet parking service was wonderful. The check-in process was very smooth, and our room featured a stunning Japanese design touch, making it truly exceptional. While the gym is a bit small, it has everything you need for a great workout. The location is prime, and we were pleased to find that a late check-out was available. Overall, our experience was fantastic!

Location is good but not easy to excess. In front a bus stop but the bus operates once an hour. So need to plan wisely to avoid long waiting. Nearby convenience store (7-11) need to walk 20mins, or by bus within 5 min but need to wait for an hour. Services is good. Staff can communicate in English well

The hotel's location is a bit of a walk from Hakata Station, taking over ten minutes on foot, which isn't ideal if you're traveling with luggage. The room temperature was on the high side, feeling quite warm, and we had to pull out the key card at night to cut the power just to get some relief. During our stay, the bed linens were only changed once proactively; extra changes required booking a day in advance. Breakfast variety and quality were pretty average. Overall, it was an unremarkable experience without many surprises. Proceed with caution.

Breakfast is amazing. Didn’t expect this extravagant breakfast and it is worth the price, compensating small room size but as expected room in the city. When enter the hotel entrace, the esthetic and fragrance smell is nice. Welcome drink is white wine and that is a win!! Overall is good hotel experience (this hotel has no parking lot but can park at nearby building) and staff is very nice.

Hakata Fukuoka|1.08km from downtown
The hotel is technically in between 3 subway stations — Hakata (7 - 8 mins walk), Gion (7 - 8 mins walk), and Kushida Shrine (2 mins walk) — and also located conveniently near Canal City Hakata shopping mall, Kushida shrine, and many stores and restaurants nearby. The cleanliness of the hotel overall was good but a little less positive for the room itself, as some parts of the washroom’s privacy blinds looked like they aren’t cleaned regularly and edges of the room’s carpet were often not cleaned well (wearing slippers in the room and not touching the privacy blinds easily mitigates these concerns). A personal issue and warning for taller guests would be that the position of the toilet in the narrow bathroom (at least for the ‘cozy double’ room) requires users to face a section of the wall quite closely when seated, which would likely be uncomfortable/ impossible for people taller than 175 cm to use while sitting down (the attached photo is taken with a 0.6x camera lens). The air conditioning for the rooms was shared by a central air system which cooled the rooms well, but it is worth noting for those with sensitive noses that there was a very faint but noticeable odour of old cigarette smoke in the room despite the current no-smoke policy. The coin laundry room is very small with only 1 washing machine, 1 dryer, and 1 hybrid washer-dryer machine (also, no coin exchange machine is present), so I recommend washing mid-day or in the early evening if possible. The front desk receptionists and cleaning staff were kind and approachable (in both English and Japanese), the check-in and check-out processes were smooth, and the hotel did offer free luggage storage services after check-out. Overall, an enjoyable and budget-friendly stay.

The room is big enough and we can manage to open our luggauges in the room by moving around the small table and chaires. Air condition is working well and easy to use. Toilet size is standard small one. Bed size seem to be bigger than normal found in Tokyo. Bed is comfy, though pillow is thin, but you can ask more from reception. Good choice for the stay.

The location is super convenient! It's within walking distance of Gion Station on the Airport Line, Kushida Shrine Station on the Nanakuma Subway Line, Hakata Station, as well as Canal City Hakata, Kushida Shrine, and Nakasu Kawabata street. The breakfast spread is generous, primarily Japanese-style, and even features the famous Ikkousha ramen from Hakata. The rooms are quiet and spotlessly clean, and you have the flexibility to choose whether you'd like daily housekeeping. The top floor has a communal bathhouse where you can enjoy a hot spring soak to wash away your fatigue. The Japanese-style breakfast, convenient transportation, and the hot spring bath are definitely the biggest highlights.
