This was my first visit to Forest Sea, and apparently, it was fully booked on February 10th and 11th. You could tell it was packed during breakfast and the evening buffet, which was quite noisy. However, the hot spring area, lake activities, and water park weren't crowded at all. This shows that different guests have different preferences, and the resort's grounds are spacious with plenty of facilities.
From the lobby, entering the accommodation area, I noticed that the villas on both sides were connected by waterways with surprisingly clean water. It made me feel like I absolutely have to come back in the summer – it must be amazing. SEVEN provided excellent service. Even with some rather unreasonable requests, like finding a table for dinner when it was full, he still tried his best to coordinate and arrange things. For everything else, he was always responsive, sincere, and honest, never giving us the runaround.
Actually, the water park was the kids' favorite spot. However, the air inside was a bit stuffy, and there was quite a bit of dirty water on the floor. I guess it's unavoidable; if it weren't designed this way, the floor might be very slippery and prone to falls. Also, there were no towels or phone lockers available inside, which they could definitely provide. Other than that, it was fine. The water in the hot spring area was genuinely hot. My elderly parents were worried the kids would get cold, but there was really no need.
The biggest advantage and most comforting aspect of Forest Sea, compared to Xilegu, is that it uses facial recognition for entry as the 'ticket,' and allows one adult to bring one child under 1.5 meters (free of charge). Once inside, you can play everything without having to pay extra or show tickets, making guests feel like they're getting a great deal and enjoying themselves thoroughly.
However, one area where it could improve, when compared to Xilegu, is to add a large-scale non-powered playground with plenty of slides and swings. If they did that, Forest Sea would truly be the ultimate family hotel in South China. I don't usually post reviews lightly.
