"The hotel grounds are beautiful, and there's a cool pool with boats, plus another pool upstairs. However, most people only stay here for one night, so there's a constant stream of guests checking in and out. Because so many people want to take a boat ride and take photos, it's impossible to get to a boat in the evening; they're always occupied. We stayed for two nights, which helped. Many guests check out before 12:00 PM, and new guests check in from 3:00 PM onwards. In that window between 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM, the competition for a boat is minimal, and you can enjoy a swim in a nearly empty pool. Overall, the concept isn't bad. The room was clean and had everything we needed. We didn't have breakfast, but we went to their cafe for dinner, and everything was delicious and reasonably priced. The only thing I can't understand is why they so often have semi-transparent doors for bathrooms and toilets here – there's absolutely no privacy! We really liked Ao Yon Beach; it's perfect for an off-season trip. You have to walk over some rocks to get to the main beach, but it's not difficult at all. There isn't much infrastructure around. You have to walk uphill or across the beach to get to 7/11, so staying for a long time might get a bit boring."
