4-Star Hotels in Phuket

Overall, we really liked it 🙌 The villa is cozy and secluded—perfect for a relaxing getaway. We stayed in villa #32, and everything was clean, tidy, and pleasant. We really enjoyed the privacy—no one bothers us, it's quiet and comfortable. But there are some nuances that are best known in advance. The villa is located in a residential area, so noise is required after 10:00 PM. Smoking is prohibited inside (a fine of 5,000 baht)—this is specified in the contract before check-in. Electricity is charged separately (8 baht per kW), and if you use the air conditioners extensively, it can add up to a significant amount. You may also be charged an additional fee (starting from 1,000 baht) if, for example, you leave a significant mess, lose your keys, or damage something. We didn't pay any extra; we put all our trash in bags. And most importantly, the location on Trip.com is incorrect. Actually, it's KA Villa Rawai, on the south side of the island. It's best to check in advance. Other than that, it's a great place for a relaxing getaway; we were very happy 💛

There are so many hotels and beaches in Phuket, and island transportation isn't very convenient. If you're not planning on island hopping, choosing a beach pretty much determines where you'll spend your time. Pros: 1. The hotel is located in Kamala, which is relatively less crowded. It has multiple pools and offers great value for money, making it ideal for families who want to relax at the hotel. 2. The hotel breakfast is extensive and holds its own against even Le Méridien and Holiday Inn, where we stayed later. 3. While there aren't many businesses around, there are still 7-Elevens, massage places, and good restaurants. Plus, prices are cheaper compared to other popular beaches. 4. The room decor is simple but highly practical, with a sink and microwave. I even thought about buying seafood to cook ourselves, haha. Cons: 1. The beach has relatively strong waves. It's fine for digging in the sand or sunbathing with a quick dip, but swimming or paddleboarding in the sea during the rainy season could be dangerous. Summary: This was a hotel I booked on a whim, and it ended up being my favorite. I'd definitely come back if I have the chance. Oh, by the way, there's a coffee shop next to the hotel called Sync. It's expensive and not good, and there were foreigners inside trying to exchange money with me – watch out for scammers.

This hotel is fantastic! Absolutely value for money! It’s clean and moderately new. Staffs are friendly The hotel is not situated along the main road, or near the beach (which is about 15mins walk). However there are restaurants and grocery shop right opposite the hotel. My room is at level 1, with direct access to the pool. The room is spacious I would definitely recommend to everyone!

Very elegant hotel indeed. Convenient to restaurants, pharmacies, markets, 7/11 and all. Walking distance to Patong beach. Enjoyed my stay with a very comfortable and clean room, accommodating staff and a beautiful view from the rooftop pool. Highly recommended!!

My stay at this hotel was wonderful, and this is my sixth time staying here. The place is clean, the rooms are comfortable, and the service is excellent. All the staff were cooperative and friendly. I would like to extend my thanks to all the staff in general, and specifically to Ms. Cha for her high professionalism, kindness, and her constant eagerness to help with a smile. She was quick to respond to my requests and made my stay more comfortable and exceptional. I thank her for her excellent attention, and I will be returning to the hotel again on July 27th, thanks to the excellent level of service.

A very satisfying 4-star hotel. The swimming pool is huge and directly accessible from the ground floor rooms. We stayed on the second floor, which was also great. It was very clean at night, and the front desk staff helped us with our luggage. The main advantage is its convenient location; the bus stop to the old town is nearby, and there's a huge Makro supermarket, making shopping very easy.

Its location is excellent, very close to Arab Street. The staff are cheerful and kind, but the downside to the room is that the bathroom isn't clean and needs maintenance. I didn't use the swimming pool because there were always Indians soaking themselves in it. And I can't forget how close it is to 7-Eleven, which is important.

We stayed here for five nights and I'm so glad I chose this resort. There are three resorts on the island, each with a beach, but Banraya has the most atmospheric resort vibe due to its unique landscape. Every corner is picturesque, and it feels more interesting than the other two resorts. The beach in front of The Racha is the most beautiful on the island, but if we had stayed there, we definitely wouldn't have explored other beaches, and we would have missed out on Banraya's stunning scenery. I'm so glad I picked this place. We could walk to The Racha's beach or other beaches, it only took about ten minutes. We could also add the front desk's WeChat to have them send a motorbike to pick us up anytime for a very cheap price of 50 baht. Of course, you could also rent a motorbike for 500 baht a day. Regarding hygiene, I think it was decent. The bedding was clean. Every day after check-out, the staff even dried the pillows outdoors for a few hours. As for facilities, it definitely can't compare to The Racha. After all, this is an outlying island. Hotels on the main island of Phuket certainly have much better facilities, but that's understandable. At night, peacocks would call outside our window, which was very entertaining. Sometimes they even strolled right in front of our room. The restaurant service was truly excellent. The young man at the restaurant front desk spoke very good Chinese and seemed to be well-versed in Chinese etiquette and hospitality. He was always very enthusiastic whenever we went, and the other staff were also very friendly. I am very satisfied and feel I made the best choice. After five days here, I felt very relaxed and happy! As an additional note, we also visited several islands near Phuket, and the water at Racha Island was the most beautiful. I really recommend staying on Racha Island for a few days.

Spectacular views of the sea from the rooms make this resort a winner for feelings of peace and solitude. My room included a ceiling fan and a separate rain shower next to the bath tub. A massive free breakfast buffet starts the day for most guests, with changing options on a daily basis. Before breakfast I walked down the steep driveway to the private beach to swim either in the sea or the small pool next to it. At 7 am there is nobody around. One morning I took out a kayak (one hour free) which had stunning panoramic views. There are two swimming pools by the resort’s main building and both are delightful for swimming and relaxing. Nothing much to do in the evening and the TV channel selection could be expanded with movie channels (e.g., HBO, Cinemax), educational channels like Discovery Asia, and nature channels like BBC Earth and Love Nature. I partook in a 90 minute herbal pack massage which was a bit pricy but very professional. Both lunch and dinner menus have sufficient variety of dishes and food quality was good. Staff were always helpful. In summary, Supalai Scenic Bay Resort is a wonderfully serene experience at a very reasonable room price.          

Overall, I had a pleasant stay at Sunset Beach Resort. The facilities are a bit dated, but they are well maintained, which I truly appreciate. You can tell the resort takes good care of what it has. The location is generally fine, though the beach directly in front of the resort isn’t the best. Patong Beach is about a 300+ meter walk away, which is manageable, just something to note for guests who expect a beachfront swimming spot. The only part that slightly affected our experience was the shuttle service — not a big issue, but a memorable one. On 1 February, around 5:30 PM, we informed the front desk that we needed the 6:30 PM shuttle to Bangla Street. We even confirmed it twice and were told to sit and wait, as the staff would notify us when the shuttle arrived. We made sure they knew exactly where we were waiting. By 7:00 PM, after no update, we went back to the front desk only to be told that the shuttle had already left. The staff apologized and admitted she had overlooked us, and arranged the next shuttle. Nothing serious — just an unexpected extra 30 minutes of “resort relaxation time” we hadn’t planned for. 😊 Still, aside from this hiccup, the stay was comfortable, and with a bit more attention to shuttle coordination, the experience would be even better.
