"The hotel is located near Nanjing East Road Pedestrian Street in Huangpu District. Pros: 1. **Excellent Location** * Situated in the heart of Nanjing East Road's commercial area, it's close to attractions like The Bund, Yu Garden, and People's Square. The subway station is within walking distance, offering convenient transportation. * There are plenty of shopping and dining options nearby, making it ideal for travelers who enjoy urban convenience. 2. **Well-equipped Business Facilities** * The hotel features meeting rooms and a business center, suitable for business travelers. Some rooms are equipped with office facilities, and the internet connection is stable. 3. **Service and Cleanliness** * As a brand under the InterContinental Group, the service standards are high. The front desk is responsive, and room cleaning is thorough. 4. **Good Views from Some Rooms** * High-floor rooms offer expansive views of Nanjing East Road's streetscape or the city skyline. --- Things to Consider: 1. **Slightly Dated Facilities** * The hotel opened a while ago, so some areas have a more traditional decor, and room facilities might seem a bit old-fashioned. It may not suit travelers looking for trendy designs. 2. **Fluctuating Prices** * Room rates can be high during peak seasons or holidays, so value for money needs to be assessed based on the time of year. 3. **Noisy Surroundings** * Due to its location in a bustling area, lower-floor rooms might be affected by street noise. It's recommended to choose a higher floor or a room facing away from the street. 4. **Average Dining Experience** * Breakfast offers a good variety, but nothing particularly stands out. There are many dining options nearby, where you can try local specialties. --- Summary: * **Recommended for:** Business travelers and first-time visitors to Shanghai who prioritize convenience. * **Consider carefully if:** You have high expectations for hotel design or a quiet environment. * **Tip:** Book in advance and keep an eye on prices. Opting for a higher-floor room is recommended for a better experience. Overall, this hotel's prime location is its strongest asset, making it suitable for travelers whose primary need is convenient transportation."

"Our stay at Conrad was absolutely perfect, truly embodying the quality and warmth expected from Hilton's top-tier luxury brand! From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the front desk team's professionalism and efficiency. They swiftly handled our check-in, kindly upgraded our room, and patiently introduced us to the hotel's facilities and nearby attractions, instantly easing our travel fatigue. The room was spacious and bright, with a minimalist yet elegant design. The large floor-to-ceiling windows offered stunning cityscapes or natural views. The bed was just the right firmness, paired with high-quality bedding, ensuring a restful night's sleep until morning. The bathroom featured a separate wet and dry area, and the elegant British-brand toiletries, along with the built-in mirror TV, added a touch of luxury. Every detail showcased thoughtful consideration. The dining experience was equally impressive. Breakfast offered a rich variety and excellent quality, with freshly made dishes that were delicious and flavorful. Whether it was a quick business lunch or a leisurely afternoon tea, you could feel the double dedication to ingredients and culinary skill. The hotel's location is superb, conveniently close to commercial districts, attractions, or transportation hubs, making travel incredibly easy. Facilities like the fitness center and heated swimming pool were comprehensive and meticulously maintained, clean and tidy. The service throughout our stay was warm yet unobtrusive; from concierge to room service, they were always available but never intrusive, truly making us feel at home. Whether for business or leisure, Conrad is an impeccable choice. It's definitely on my re-book list, and I'll be sure to return!"

"Booked a collection executive room and was very happy with my room on the 29th floor with the most perfect view on Shanghai's skyline. Hotel is perfectly located on the Nanjing East road in the very center of Shanghai. Hotel itself and rooms are a bit worn out - need renovation in the nearest future but room was immaculately clean and provided with fresh bottled water every day. Breakfast was very good - both chinese and western. cuisine provided, lot of fruit, pastry and very good coffee. Special thanks to the executive lounge manager Annie who is the most friendly and helpful lady with perfect knowledge of english language. During the happy hours and afternoon tea time Ms. Annie explained clearly all the choices of food served and the beverages."

"The rooms at Grand Hyatt Jin Mao are spacious and bright, and the bathroom is in a relatively private area. Both the river and city views are stunning. You can walk to the Oriental Pearl TV Tower. Our room on the 78th floor had an excellent location. The 'time tunnel' experience was truly impressive. The staff at the front desk, in housekeeping, the restaurant, and at the entrance to Gate 3 were all incredibly polite, thoughtful, patient, and detailed-oriented, always actively helping guests with any issues. I'd like to extend my sincere thanks to them all and hope to have the opportunity to stay at Grand Hyatt Jin Mao again in the near future."

"This is my second time staying here. The hotel staffs are very friendly and helpful. They try their best to accommodate us in all aspects. I bought a pair of shoes that would be delivered to the hotel on the next day, I informed the concierge and they thoroughly went through details of the expected parcel to prevent errors and miscommunication with the delivery. The next day when my parcel arrived, the concierge called and make sure the parcel delivering was the correct one for me. As for the house keeping, they noticed that we drank all 4 bottles of complimentary water everyday and from our 3rd day of staying onward they gave us 6 bottles without our request. Not to mention that I accidentally spilled milk over my bed in the rush, I informed the front desk before we headed out and they enthusiastically told me not to worry they would send the house keeper to change my bed sheet right away. In the morning of our last day, Oliver from the front desk called to confirm our check out and informed that hotel’s check out time was twelve noon. They also asked how many luggage we had and what time would we want the concierge to come collect them which I told them to come up around 11am, and at 11am sharp they rang on my door. Oliver from the front desk came along with the concierge, accompanied us down and helped us through the check out process and luggage deposit. Around 1:30 pm when we came back from lunch, our luggage was ready for us to pick up and headed out to the airport."

"The location is great, very close to Nanjing Road and super convenient. The BBQ downstairs is delicious too! The only minor drawback is that the room was a tiny bit small, but everything else was perfect. The guy at the front desk was also very helpful; he even enthusiastically helped me look for a package I couldn't find. The service here is truly excellent."

"Sanitation: This was my first time staying at a hotel near the airport. The hotel is very new, the room is spacious, and there are no strange odors; it was cleaned very thoroughly. Transportation: There's a dedicated shuttle service to Pudong Airport, which is a very thoughtful service. For those who miss breakfast, they offer a free simple meal. The front desk staff were also very enthusiastic and helpful. Overall, it was a satisfying stay."

"Review: The Langham Shanghai — Still Well-Located, But No Longer the Same The Langham Shanghai has long been one of my preferred hotels, especially before the pandemic. After many stays, I’ve come to expect a certain standard of hospitality, consistency, and refinement. This recent visit, however, showed a noticeable decline across several areas. Service Overall service from the staff was acceptable. Front-line employees remained polite and tried their best. However, the manager on duty—a Caucasian manager—felt out of touch with Asian hospitality norms. His attitude came off as dismissive and rude, which immediately set the wrong tone. The contrast between the staff’s warmth and his behavior was striking. Breakfast Buffet The most significant drop was in the breakfast buffet. Quality has slipped in a way that’s hard to ignore: food didn’t taste as fresh, dishes weren’t as well prepared, and the overall selection felt uninspired compared to previous years. At this point, it’s honestly better to go out for breakfast. Room & Housekeeping Room cleanliness was fine, but small inconsistencies added up. Turn-down service was missed on some nights. When I requested water refill, the staff who arrived seemed confused about why she had been sent up, leading to an awkward exchange. These are small moments, but in a five-star hotel, they highlight cracks in training and coordination. Overall Impression The Langham Shanghai still has one unbeatable strength: location. But nearly everything else has declined—food, consistency, management attitude, and attention to detail. After years of loyalty, I’m now considering switching to a different hotel for future trips. The experience simply didn’t match the standards I’ve known and trusted from The Langham brand. A disappointing stay from a once-reliable favorite."

"This time I stayed in Lujiazui for the convenience of dining and travel. Among similar room types, the value for money was high, especially since we needed a suite with family. After consulting the hotel in advance, we chose the Pujiang Building (old building) based on our personal needs. You can see the river from there, although the suite's view was a bit lacking. However, the swimming pool on the fourth floor and the executive lounge both offered excellent views. The new building overlooks the 'Three Piece Set' (referring to the three iconic skyscrapers), but I personally prefer the style of the old building. Both buildings have takeaway lockers downstairs, which is very convenient. The New Year's desserts were both beautiful and delicious, and the staff provided a lot of assistance. The room was very comfortable, allowing us to sleep in until we naturally woke up... We didn't leave until the afternoon. Whenever I stay in Lujiazui, I'll choose this place."

FFajrina HMWe had a pleasant stay at Moyu Movie Hotel and truly enjoyed our experience. The staff were really helpful and attentive, especially when it came to helping us order Halal food using the ******* app. All we needed to do was transfer the payment via Alipay, and they kindly helped arrange the rest for us. Our food was even delivered by a delivery robot, which was a fun and convenient experience. On one occasion, we were unable to transfer payment via Alipay, and the staff were so kind and understanding to accept cash payment instead, which we truly appreciated. We also got free drinks from them. The hotel also provides free laundry washer and dryer, making it very convenient for longer stays. They accept packages on behalf of guests, and the parcel handling was very well organized, with items sorted by phone number, making collection easy and hassle-free. The location is another big plus. The hotel is within walking distance (around 5 minutes) to Middle Huaihai Road Metro Station (Line 13), which made it very convenient for wandering around and exploring Shanghai. Overall, it was a comfortable and hassle-free stay, and we would definitely consider staying here again.

The location is very convenient, the room was clean and tidy, and the front desk staff, especially the young man, was incredibly friendly and helpful, answering all my questions and even recommending local attractions. GGuest UserExcellent reception desk assistants, translating through phone app. English / Chinese Coffee /tea even massage chairs in reception. Room: Fantastic Beds were huge & comfortable - we had an upgrade to a larger room. The shower and shower toiletries were so refreshing. Towels were lovely soft & clean. Breakfast was the best I have had for a long time. Lived the rice, fried eggs, noodles , fruit vegetables. Even clams one morning. Great variety of drinks. The chief and staff were very happy & helpful. Extremely clean. I used the laundry room which also had a tumble dryer. This was useful due to travelling on to Beijing afterwards. The other family rooms have slides and are duplex. Sue the swimming pool is great in the summer. Excellent price , excellent choice for Families going to Disneyland and other local trips. Loved being able to go along the local street to see Shanghai local food, shops and life. Seems to be a family run business which is lovely to support. Location is great for the local shops , food, 7/11 supermarket for snacks & drinks Restaurants and food for locals which was delicious and a great price. Shuttle bus excellent. Taxi ( Didi) was £3 back from Disneyland . £11 to Shanghai Greenhouse Gardens ( evening ticket £5.40) this is an amazing trip not to be missed.

OOurTwoStepStartWe stayed in a room without windows, that had 3 single beds, and used shared bathrooms. Honestly we couldn’t fault the stay, the staff were so friendly, the bathroom facilities were always spotless, they had heated toilets (we found this amusing 😂), free tea in the foyer. The location was really good and was a great street alternative to the always busy nanjing road, and was instead on Huaihai road which we would recommend! It is still a main road full of things to see/shopping, but just not as busy/hectic. The hotel was a tiny bit hard to locate but that wasn’t really an issue, we think moreso a maps problem. The lift took a while as there was only one life for the building, and took a while as it was on the 18/19th floor. The views however were amazing, as this was the view from the bathrooms 😍

ББатаI was a guest in this hotel, between December 22 and 27. I booked an Elegant Queen Room. However, I have to say that there is not much elegant about it. There are no slippers in the room. Air conditioners external units are placed literally two meters from your windows, and as you can see, and there are so many of them. I strongly recommend buying earplugs before checking in. The room was 517, so if possible please avoid it. One more thing. Me and my partner had sexual intercourse, and in one moment, I saw a person one floor above, clearly visible through the windows. That's not even other apartment, it is some unfinished space, that looks ruined. The curtains simply were not fully pulled, my mistake, but I didn't expect to see random person above 😅 There is no locker, so your things would have to be placed all over the room. Staff is very nice, and super kind. Expect warm welcome every time you move by reception desk. I bought some sausages in local market, and I asked the staff if they would keep it in the fridge for me. They accepted. However, I forgot to take it when I checked out. I asked them if they could send me the package to my city, and they did it promptly. Good service, truly. The breakfast is one of the best I have ever seen in a hotel. Location is very close to the Bund, Financial center, and subway station (line 14, Yuanshen Road) is almost opposite the hotel. All together, room is definitely subpar, and it doesn't justify the price. Everything else is near perfect.

HHunter Jackson TonyI booked the Novotel Shanghai Pudong Kangqiao for my classmates visiting Shanghai this time, and the experience absolutely exceeded expectations – I have to give it a glowing review! First off, its biggest highlight is the location. It's incredibly close to Disney! The hotel offers a dedicated free shuttle bus to Disney, which takes about ten minutes. This saves the hassle of taking a taxi or the subway, making it super convenient for those who want to get to the park early for queuing. Plus, the hotel also provides airport transfer services. My classmates were able to take the hotel's car directly from the airport, saving them the trouble of lugging luggage around and navigating, which was incredibly stress-free. I booked a family room for the three girls, and the space was very generous, not at all cramped. The beds were also just the right size and very comfortable to sleep in. The cleanliness of the room was impeccable; it was spotless, which made their stay very reassuring. The hotel environment is also excellent. The decor is modern and elegant, and the common areas are great for photos. My classmates mentioned that the lobby had a lovely fragrance, and the check-in process was very smooth. I must give a special shout-out to the service here. From communication during the booking process to fulfilling various needs during their stay, the staff were responsive and enthusiastic. My classmates accidentally left something in the room, and when they contacted the hotel, it was quickly found and safely kept, which made them feel very reassured. The only minor detail is that some facilities might not be the newest models, but they are very well-maintained and completely functional, not affecting the overall experience. All in all, this was a very successful booking experience. Whether it was the location, room comfort, or service level, everything was impeccable. It's especially suitable for friends visiting Disney – highly recommended! If I have friends coming to Shanghai again, I'll definitely choose this place!

AAnonymous UserThanks to the front desk for upgrading us to the Grand Suite! This old building has a story to tell, with exquisite and tasteful decor that's very well maintained, making you feel like you're in an ancient European hotel suite. On the service side, the Chinese restaurant tastes good, but breakfast is too simple. Besides vegetable salad, fruit, and bread, there's just a noodle station and a few à la carte items from a menu. The quality of the breakfast definitely doesn't match the room rate, especially considering it was during the New Year's Day holiday. There were few staff members, but they were still enthusiastic. It's clear that the hotel management has declined significantly compared to over ten years ago; everything seems to be about cutting costs. For instance, in the suite, tissue paper is only available in the bathroom, not on the living room table. You barely see any housekeeping staff in the corridors, and I won't even mention many other small details. Service is the soul of a five-star hotel, and at some point, it seems to have shifted from providing a 'home away from home' experience to a simple landlord-tenant relationship. Perhaps this is the current reality for five-star hotels in China.

CCindyYe12This time, my bestie and I traveled with our families, and this three-story townhouse we chose was exceptionally stylish and beautifully decorated, feeling incredibly cozy. We had separate floors, ensuring privacy, which is rare for a trip – I actually slept really well! There's also a small terrace upstairs, perfect for my husband who enjoys a cigarette. Who says you can't have it all? Here, you can experience the leisurely nightlife, the bustling Shanghai, and the charm of old alley neighbors all at once. Step outside and you're right by Nanchang Road and the Science Hall, with Huaihai Middle Road just a block away. The streets are lined with romantic French plane trees, perfect for a leisurely stroll and some photos.
