Super convenient location right in the heart of Xintiandi. Front desk was kind enough to upgrade us to a bigger conrner room so that we would be more comfortable as we needed an extra bed. Special thanks to concierge Seven who helped us book our transport to the airport. He contacted me to make sure everything was ok, even though he was on leave that day. Amazing service, we will definitely come back to stay again.

Location is fabulous in stylish Xintiandi, a great area for shopping & dining. Rooms are spacious, equipped with mood lighting, however I find it a bit dark for my liking. Bathroom has LED built mood lighting installed on the bathtub and one on the wash basin which feels a bit tacky. But hey, it’s not everyday you would see those kind of features in your bathroom.
Breakfast is good. Happy hour with free flow wine and champagne every evening at their lobby lounge are really appreciated.
The pool & gym on basement floor on the other hand feel a bit underwhelming.
Ascott at HuaiHai (Middle) Road has an excellent location, there are bus stops and metro stations (no.1, 2, 14 lines), shopping malls and a variety of cafes and restaurants that suit different pockets nearby. Xintaidi is also a stone's throw away. Behind the hotel is a lovely and good sized public park for walks and runs. I deeply appreciated the fact my room came with a fully equipped kitchenette with washer! While the furnishings may be a little dated, the cleanliness and excellent services provided by the staff more than made up for anything that could be amissed. A big shout out to my (11th) floor housekeeper, Mdm Ling Xin Mei (凌心梅阿姨). She noticed that I consumed all my mineral water on day 1 and left me more bottles on the second day of my stay. Throughout my 7 days stay, she made sure I always have sufficient mineral water, shower supplies and ear plugs...she always leave me a note wishing me a good day and stay. She made me feel well taken care of and I felt at home while staying at Ascott, room number 1105 from Nov 7 to 13, 2024. I want to return to stay the next time I visit Shanghai.

The location of this store is too good. There are check-in spots everywhere when you go out. There are fun nightclubs nearby at night. There are many beautiful young ladies [grin] The accommodation is very clean. There are aunties changing the quilts. The sanitation is always cleaning. Many foreigners live here

The room was very spacious and well lit. The bed was comfortable to sleep on. Service wise was superb, we arrived earlier than the supposed check in time, and the kind lady at the front desk immediately helped to settle our luggage and in the end even managed to find a room suitable for us to immediately check in and settle down. They even have these cute robots to bring food to our room whenever we order food deliveries. Overall it was a wonderful experience staying here.

Close to laoximen station. You can walk to xintiandi area and Nanjing road. The staff was so nice and allow us to check out late :)
One minus point is the room no phone call and my pillow is dirty and maybe I came to late so no chance to change
Atour was a life saver to me. I am deeply appreciative and grateful to them. I originally booked Ascott but had such a bad experience when I checked in (poorly maintained furniture, mouldy toilet, broken door latch). I was recommended Atour by locals and I called Atour at midnight asking if there are beds available (it was Christmas season and most hotels are fully booked). Their staff was professional and empathetic towards my situation. I was afraid that the room would not be able to accommodate 4 of us and they suggested that we could check out the rooms before booking. We went down the next day and they brought us to view a few rooms. This act of going the extra mile was extremely comforting for us. We had a great stay at Atour. It was new, modern, clean and the room was spacious and AI controlled. We had a great stay there. I am grateful to the staff Quan Yu who picked up my call and the other Quan Yu who showed me around the hotel for going above and beyond and made the rest of my SH trip a good one.
The only feedback is that the location is not as convenient and it would be great if there is a convenience store nearby. However, with the convenience of didi in SH, it wouldn’t be a huge problem.

Clean hotel, friendly staff
The staff always answered our questions, even though we didn't speak the same language. They are so cute!!

Originally, planned to stay for 3 nights but reduced it to 2 cause there was nothing near the hotel. Hotel building is isolated and it takes a while to get to locations in Shanghai by DiDi.
Room is generally clean and spacious, although toilet is a little dated, with uneven tiles. Toilet could use a bidet or hose. Room had a low humming or droning sound which we couldn’t identify the source plus there was cigarette smell in the room on the first night.
Concierge failed to inform us that the AI butler system wasn’t working when we checked in, so spent the whole first night waiting for the robot butler to bring extra water, which never arrived.
Plus point is that they provide free self-service coffee at the lobby area every morning and hotel is located along a main road, so it’s easily located by DiDi.

KKaydenfypAbsolutely stunning place to be in.
Hotel is very near Yu Gardens and Cheng Huang Miao. The nearest train station is just about 10-15 mins walk, very convenient.
Housekeeper were very attentive and helped to clean our room everyday, spotless 👍🏻
Receptionists were friendly and always never fails to greet all the guest.
Definitely recommend this place for all fellow travellers 👍🏻
RRx_travelsLocation was perfect (one crossing away from metro entrance) to get to The Bund and other iconic sites located on line 1 and 2. Service was excellent. As a foreigner I had many friends use Taobao to deliver before I had even arrived and the lady at the reception was able to confirm some of my deliveries had arrived before I even arrived at the hotel. They explained clearly where all the amenities were located and were very patient with all enquiries. Obviously the bunk room single room is cramped, however for the cost and other aspects I would definitely book again.
For context two large check in luggage inside room will be cramped. I had to flip the chair upside down onto the table to make space for one of my bags while I used the other.
TTOBACCOVANILLEThis hotel used to be Senz spa hotel, now became Double tree by Hilton. Because I enjoyed the spa and massage facilities last time I stayed I missed the massage used to be offered by this hotel but other than that I liked this hotel a lot. Very clean and slightly high ceiling in the room makes everything very comfortable and relaxing. The breakfast is kind of usual standard for this type of hotel but this hotel is directly connected to an excellent shopping street called Lidoway where I could find a lot of restaurants and bars just outside of the hotel. Highly recommended for those who are looking for relaxing stay close to Hongqiao airport and EXPO area in Qingpu
LLuis AlbertoTitle: Comfortable Stay with Room for Improvement
During our recent one-night stay at the Novotel Shanghai Pudong Chuansha, my wife, our 7-year-old daughter, and I experienced both positive aspects and areas that could benefit from enhancement.
Buffet Options:
The breakfast buffet offered a satisfactory selection of dishes, including both local and international cuisines. While the variety was adequate, we felt that the quality and freshness of some items could be improved. Our daughter enjoyed the pastry section, though it lacked some of the diversity we’ve encountered in other hotels.
Amenities:
The hotel provides standard amenities suitable for families. Our room was clean and comfortable, featuring modern furnishings.
Service:
The front desk staff were courteous and efficient during check-in and check-out.
Location:
The hotel’s proximity to Shanghai Disneyland is a significant advantage for families planning to visit the park. However, we found that transportation options to other parts of the city were somewhat limited, making it less convenient for broader sightseeing.
Overall Experience:
Our stay at the Novotel Shanghai Pudong Chuansha was comfortable, and the hotel adequately met our basic needs. However, there is room for improvement in areas such as amenity availability and service responsiveness. With some enhancements, the hotel has the potential to offer a more satisfying experience for families.
SSopheakimphinWhen it comes to accommodation the first thing I’ll check is about the negatives review of the host. But then I saw almost every hotels have a negative review! So I mean, no one is perfect right ! The next thing we do, we just go for the Pearl view one. My wife and I decided to stay in this hotel, man oh man, we’ve made the right choice. Everything is perfect. It worth the price so when you consider coming to China and looking for accommodation please check this place out! anyway thanks so much to Rosy, one of the receptionist who gave answers that’s helped a lot!
Ps: gotta try their breakfast and afternoon tea set!
JJoelExcellent location for business travellers travelling between cities with high speed trains and easy connection to Pudong International Airport as well. Plenty of food options and easy access to subway when visiting the Bund.
GGuest UserQuite hard to communicate with the receptionist and staff at the hotel, but some of them were really nice.
Hotel room was small but clean, they change our towel every day.
Breakfast is the same menu for almost everyday, but enough spread from rice, noodles, wonton, bread, coffee.
Location very convenient, near east nanjing road metro station. Close to the bund.
PPanchita.POur family had stayed 2 rooms for 3 nights on the 27-30, Dec 2024. Our stay were memorable and amazing. The rooms were so clean with very nice view, the breakfast line were delicious and has many variety of food both western and Chinese. The staffs were the most impressive, they could speak very good english and very friendly. The duty manager is very helpful too. I forgot the souvenir which was the Chinese embroidered traditional fan and just realized when I got back home, the duty manager was very enthusiastic and putting a lot of efforts in getting the forgot item back to me. Thank you so much, I’m really impressed and highly appreciated your hard work and kindness.
FFamPlanFirst of all 5 stars to Peng Ho (何鹏) service, very helpful and proactive, helped with us during check in and when leaving the hotel with 🧳 and getting our ride to the airport.
Also 5 stars for another lady helped with our check in, she let me viewed a few rooms as I wasn't exactly sure about my stay, she prepared a welcome fruit platter for us.
The hotel is quite wore off, l9bby seemed ok, but once in elevator, corridors all appeared wore off and not clean, then the room arranged for us is full of smell, moldy and smokes, the room we settled is not as smelly, but still found stains, dirt etc in the room, I have especially requested a well cleaned and dusted room before check in due to allergies. Since t was our last stop of a 2+ weeks vacation plus it's only one night so we didn't move, if it is at the beginning or staying longer, I would've moved hoteldue to the first impression of elevator /corridor and room,I was tired that didn't even take picture of the room, our room was facing some old neighborhood, no scenery at all, plus it's noisy in the morning around 6, noises from heavy machinery.
But location is quite convenient, walking distance to the Bund, took us about 20 minutes walk to reach the starting point of the Bund.
GGuest UserIt was a really good experience. Starting from the location just in front of the bund in the north side where you can enjoy a perfect view without too many people. The view from the window was amazing and also the breakfast. All the staff was very kind and speak good English. I will totally recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to have a great experience in Shanghai.
