Convenient location, near to all the shopping and the bund. Nice, comfortable bedrooms, good service. The only downside was the strong cigarette smoke smell filling the entire cafe on the 2nd floor. Which we discovered in day 2 and kept away. Other than that, we enjoyed our 4nights and 5 days stay.

I came alone and stayed for a few nights before my friend joined me. The reception staff are friendly and speak both English and Chinese and were more than happy to help with recommendations and provide anything requested. The location is wonderful and walking distance from the Bund and many other attractions. Next door is a convenience store and opposite is a delicious coffee shop which was great in the mornings. The room is cleaned daily and was spacious with amenities provided. The air con worked and WiFi is provided. Overall I could not complain about my stay，it was a wonderful place for my first time in China!

The location is convenient for families with children and elderly parents. There are many shops, cafes, and restaurants nearby. The breakfasts are excellent, the rooms and facilities are clean, the staff is highly professional, and the views from the upper floor windows are magnificent.

My sibling and I stayed here, and the view was fantastic! It's close to People's Square and easy to hail a taxi. When checking in, we had two separate reservations for our two nights and one night stay. We asked if we could combine them into one room for three consecutive nights, and they happily accommodated us. Since one of the nights would have been a downgrade, they even added breakfast for two for all three days, lol. It was so good! They have staff who can speak Korean, and the machines are well-equipped. Everyone is so friendly, especially the staff – I love them! They also helped us with all our delivery pickups. I'm taking away wonderful memories from my first trip to Shanghai!!! And at checkout, Sandy and Lily were incredibly kind, helping with our luggage storage and giving us drink coupons, making the end of our stay great, lol. The view is excellent, and the accessibility is superb, so I think Koreans would also have a comfortable stay! Highly recommended!! I heard the pool was good too, but unfortunately, I didn't get to use it because we were busy sightseeing, lol. Anyway! Highly, highly recommended!!

Traveling alone with my 6-year-old daughter, I was truly touched by the warmth of the service here. The front desk staff upgraded our room for free during check-in, and they even provided a thermometer when we needed one in the middle of our stay. When it was time to leave, the front desk was so kind as to help me tie my daughter's hair, something I'm not good at. All the front desk staff were wonderful, and they even prepared a little gift for my daughter when we checked out.

Had a lovely three-night stay! The staff were so welcoming, and the location is convenient being right by the metro and walking distance to popular streets. The room was cozy, though the lighting was a bit dim and it’s showing some age. The staff were helpful, but could use a bit more training with local tips. Overall, a solid choice for a budget-friendly trip!

My stay at the Jianguo Puyin was absolutely fantastic, and I wholeheartedly give it a perfect score! The breakfast buffet comes highly recommended, offering both Chinese and Western options, making it ideal for families with seniors and children. The hotel boasts an elegant new Chinese Zen style. Stepping into the lobby immediately shields you from the city's hustle and bustle, and the subtle fragrance instantly puts you at ease. The public areas are meticulously maintained and comfortable. The guest rooms are impeccably clean; not a speck of dust in the corners, and no unpleasant odors. The smart home system allows for easy control of lighting and curtains. The mattress and pillows are incredibly comfortable, and the room's soundproofing is excellent, ensuring a peaceful night's sleep even in the city center. The bathroom has a separate wet and dry area, and the amenities are of high quality, showing thoughtful attention to detail everywhere. I must particularly commend the service team. The front desk staff are polite and professional, and the check-in process was smooth and efficient. The staff are kind and courteous, respond promptly to any issues, and provide warm, personalized service. The hotel's self-service laundry and gym are also very practical, which is a big plus for business travelers. The location is superb, right in the heart of People's Square. It's close to the subway, making it incredibly convenient to get to the Bund, Yu Garden, and Nanjing Road. Shopping and sightseeing are effortless. Whether you're on a business trip or visiting Shanghai for leisure, this hotel is an excellent choice. It's already on my list for future stays, and I highly recommend it to everyone!

Nowhere near 4-star standards. Rude staff, dirty rooms, and a limousine no-show. Rating: 1/5 My recent 4-night stay at the Mövenpick by Accor in Shanghai’s People’s Square was a profound disappointment. For a property carrying the Mövenpick name, I expected far better, but sadly, this hotel fails on nearly every front. The room was subpar: The furniture was visibly stained, and the overall cleanliness was lacking. For a 4-night stay, we received complimentary minibar drinks and the advertised ”welcome ice cream” only once each—despite staying for multiple days. This felt petty and inconsistent with the brand's reputation. Laundry was never attended to, washed load left in the washer and not transferred to drying. The housekeeping is either understaffed or just nonchalant. Never before we encountered such service with hotels in China. The service was shocking: The real low point came on our departure day. We requested an airport limousine service for 5:30 AM to ensure we wouldn't miss our flight. When we came down at 5:30, there was no car. When we approached the receptionist, we were met with outright rudeness—he was sitting down, playing on his phone, and barely looked up to acknowledge us. When we asked where our car was, he was entirely unhelpful. There was no concierge to assist with luggage, so we had to drag our own bags down to the curb. We were left stranded at 5:45 AM and had to scramble for last-minute transport to the airport. We almost missed our flight because of this hotel’s incompetence. The contrast: This trip wasn't all bad—we had previously stayed at the Atour Light, which was brand new, spotlessly clean, and had a staff that went above and beyond to be helpful. The difference between the two hotels is night and day. The Atour Light showed what genuine hospitality looks like; this Mövenpick showed me the worst service I have ever experienced. I would strongly advise anyone considering this hotel to look elsewhere. A 4-star price tag does not justify 1-star service.

Wonderful stay. I booked their newer room and was lucky enough to get one upgrade. My suite had a full bathroom, a big room and a living room with sofa and table. The best experience you can have in Shanghai, right at the pedestrian street and near to every major attraction. Ive got to say also that the service is great: we buy a lot of stuff over the internet prior to our arrival, and the staff keeps it for us until our arrival, all organized (not sure they want me to say that, they will get more work - But it is GREAT!). I will be back soon.

The hotel's location is excellent, and it's very clean. Both the front desk and housekeeping staff are very attentive. The hotel is new with comprehensive facilities. The mattress and pillows are soft and comfortable, and the price is also very reasonable. I will definitely stay here again next time I'm in Shanghai.
