"It was quite a surprise to discover that Intercity is part of the Huazhu Group, located right next to a Steigenberger hotel. The room itself was excellent, just a five-minute walk from Berlin Hbf. Although the room faced the train platforms, it was incredibly quiet. The windows offered excellent soundproofing; once closed, you couldn't hear a thing. They also charge 20 Euros for early check-in, which wasn't clearly communicated beforehand. Official check-in time is after 3 PM. During my stay, a staff member entered my room without knocking. I reported this to the front desk, but there was no compensation or apparent apology."

"I stayed at Hotel bellman during my trip and had a great experience overall. The staff were really friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with anything I needed. My room was clean, comfortable, and had all the essentials. The food was simple but fresh and tasty. The only downside was a bit of street noise at night, but it wasn’t a major issue. Overall, I’d definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting the area."

"Awesome! Three of us booked a six-person room. The place was huge, and the bathroom had a great wet and dry separation. It had two single beds and two bunk beds. We should've brought more people along, haha! Plus, the views were really nice. It's just a bit far from the city center."

"If you like a prison cell room in a 24hr nightclub this is your place. It was a competely different experience to the hostels I remember as a student traveller thirty years ago. Full of 20-somethings partying all night and sleeping all day in our 4 bunk cell. Not my cup of tea at all. Also everything inside over-priced. The corporate vibe of the hostel chain was evident in their not missing a beat adding a few more Euros charge to everything you could possibly need (towels, ping-pong bats, lockers, their vending machines). All activities appeared to be run through outside commercial suppliers with 20 euro upfront charge for most things. Basically staying here for two was more expensive than the Sheraton. Desk staff also seemed pretty clueless when it came to advice and/or tips about tourist options in the city. I couldn't wait to leave."

"The hotel is trying to make the check-in process digital. Although I had pre-checked in and paid for everything via Trip.com, the on-site check-in didn't work smoothly at the terminal:
When I entered my email address and last name, my booking was displayed. However, I was still asked to pay an amount. The employee had to manually intervene and resolve the issue.
The program is probably still in the testing phase.
The room was perfect and very clean.
The breakfast was truly excellent. Unfortunately, the state-of-the-art coffee machine couldn't make a cappuccino, even though the coffee machine can definitely handle it."

"I thought the hotel was excellent value - the room was on the small side and maybe a little cramped for 2 people, but it was totally managable. Everything in the room and bathroom worked well, except the air-conditioning did not get as cold as we like back in the USA. Small USB travel fans at night helped us just fine . The food at the breakfast was excellent, a very large variety and plenty to eat. Great coffee! I would recommend this hotel because the location is great - easy to access transit and you can walk to many museums and attractions in about 20 minutes."

"The hotel is conveniently located right by an S-Bahn station, making it super easy to get around. It's not within walking distance of Berlin Central Station, but you can easily get there by taking the M41 bus which departs right outside the station. Our family room featured a separate toilet and shower area. What was particularly convenient was that the shower area had both a walk-in shower and a bathtub with a handheld showerhead, allowing two people to shower simultaneously. The small kitchenette was a great bonus, complete with a tap for drinking water and a sink, which came in handy for washing fruit or preparing instant noodles."

"The room had a terrible smell. It smelled of an old unwashed man. Dirty carpets, dirty towels, holes in bed linen. Overall cleanliness leaves much to be desired.
I appreciate it that after my complaint nice staff gave me a different room, but that new room was smelly as well, I figured it was because of the bad air conditioning system, and I guess old untended carpets also contributed to the problem. In the new room the towels looked clean, but they smelled of fried patties.
Overall, it was an awful experience, it was hard to breathe with the air conditioner on as it made the room stinky and humid. That's why I decided to refrain from using it. Luckily, the temperature outside did not exceed +30°C during my stay.
This is definitely not a 4-star hotel!!! It barely deserves even 1 star."

Amazing
GGuest UserLocation is a little far out depending on what sights you wish to see. However, the city has amazing initiatives such as bikes, scooters and mopeds which you can rent for a low price to get around the city. Easy to make an account and start travelling around on either, often they are nearby the hotel. Obviously they have great transportation links like bus, tram and train too. The Warschnauzer StraB is the closest train station to the hotel which is around a 15 minute walk so super convenient, although we found the train maps a little tricky to understand so heavily relied on Google Maps to tell us which trains to use.
The service and cleanliness of the hotel is great, we had no issues what so ever. Overall, the towels, bedding, bathroom and bedroom was spotless. Nothing to complain or comment on negatively. We didn’t use room service, the continental breakfast additional option or bar downstairs so unable to comment on those. But staff are very friendly and helpful.
Amenities are fab, the fitness centre has a gym which is larger than most hotel gyms, super handy with plenty of variety of machines. Like a downside commercial gym with generic machines. Handy free shampoo, conditioner, hand soaps and shower gel in large containers. Again, this is the only amenities we used so unable to comment on other things.
Overall lovely very quirky hotel with lots of charm. Would certainly recommend to others as we are very happy with our stay and would be happy to stay at other Nhows.

Walk 7 minutes in one direction and you are at Checkpoint Charlie. Walk 10 mins in the other direction and you are at the Mall of Berlin. Walk 20 mins in another direction and you are in the Museum area of Berlin. Loads of restaurants, supermarkets and stores right next door to the apartment. Wonderful location. Can walk everywhere, plus the subway station is right outside.
Room
Large. Clean. It's a studio apartment, so in one room you will have your bed, sofa, coffee table, desk, wardrobe and TV. Then in another room you will have your kitchen and another room is your bathroom.
Bedroom
Bed is comfortable, but for some reason, despite having a 1 double bed, the duvets supplied were for 2 single beds, rather than one big bed.
Plug sockets near the beds are useful, but they are not VERY near, but close enough.
The room is large and clean.
The TV is small and because of the size of the room, it's almost hard to see. Yes it's on a wheeled table so you can bring it closer to the bed, but the power cord limits the range of movement. It is a Smart TV though so you can cast your android phone to it. Not iOS
There is a balcony area with tables and chairs which is nice.
The AC is wall mounted as if it was a TV. It did cool the room which is surprising as the room is big.
Bathroom
Super clean. Towels and such changed daily. It's a bathtub with a shower combined. And now I am going to be SUPER picky when I say this......do NOT let this impact your decision to stay here or not, but the water pressure is good but not great. But that may be because I like to feel like the water is really shooting at my skin. Also, the shower head holder kept sliding down. Annoying, ever so slightly, but not a deal breaker
Kitchen
So useful. It's a large kitchen with a fridge plus freezer. Induction hob with 2 rings. Sink, dishwasher. Plates, bowls, cups, tea saucers and cups, cutlery, cooking pots, frying pans, utensils for them, cutlery for eating, kitchen knives, tea towels, sieves... all great and all provided. There was one review that said it only offered 1 plate set.... we had several and it was very very useful.
Laundry
The apartment has a laundry room. 3 washing machines, 3 drying units, an ironing board and good steam iron. Even the powder is provided and having a laundry room was super useful. It's on -1 floor of the West side of the building.
Breakfast
The breakfast room, on the 8th floor does have an amazing view, and the room is lovely - everything is white with stone-coloured chairs, super clean... as if designed by Apple
It's a half-buffet style, cereal, pastry, cheese, and cured meats are all help yourself. Eggs, tea and coffee are on request. I didn't like this. The staff are wonderful and very polite and well trained, but, for me, I prefer less interaction and would have preferred a full buffet-style where I can help myself to whatever I wanted without having to ask.
Gym and Sauna
Also on the 8th floor. The gym has wonderful views, there is a seated bike, treadmill, rowing machine, weight bench and some dumbbells. Max weight was 10kg for the dumbbells so really its more of a cardio room.
Service.
We arrived around 11pm, but reception is not open. You have to scan a QR code, fill in all your details, upload a photo of your passport.... then wait after it successfully registers you you can open the doors. Or you can pop into the security office where the guy will hand you a key. Much easier, but you are not explicitly told.
But, the service is good here. Everyone is very polite, very helpful, all speak English. Cannot fault them at all. Just wish the reception was 24 hours
The location is great, the room is large and clean, the laundry room is useful and the gym and breakfast room have great views. It is expensive which is the only hesitant thing about returning here, but it is comparable in price to other similar hotels but here you get a much larger room with a kitchen. Great stay!

GGuest UserThe hotel is located in the city center, and transportation is the biggest plus. The light rail and subway are right in front of the hotel and very close to the city center. The single room I booked was an attic room with a sloping roof and an area of less than 15 square meters. It was a little cramped and depressing when I checked in.
The front desk service is good, professional and enthusiastic. The room price is more than 900 per night. I feel that the price/performance ratio is not high. If I come to Berlin again, I probably won't stay here again.

Service at reception
The full payment including city taxes have been paid via my credit card upon booking. The payments paid and breakdown including city taxes are stated very clearly on the booking voucher. However despite this, I was asked to pay a deposit of amount close to Euro 600 which was the full amount of my stay that was paid using my credit card. Upon asking, I asked the trainee/Lena why I have to pay so much again when I had paid the full amount via credit card.
Lena then checked with the another lady receptionist on the deposit that should be secured. However, this lady receptionist informed us to pay a deposit of euro 50 which I have no issue. However, she rudely informed me that I have to pay city tax. I told her that it has been paid and I showed her the booking voucher which clearly shows that city taxes have been paid. But she informed rudely that the amount was charged in other currency, not Euro. Seriously, when I heard this, I was shocked with the “intelligence” of this lady receptionist. She needs to be educated on what is “foreign currency equivalent” and to have some common sense. I disputed this and insisted that i had paid the full amount including city taxes, which was stated very clearly on the booking voucher. Lena agreed with me and reiterated to this lady receptionist that the booking voucher indeed stated that all payments including city taxes have been paid. Thereafter, the lady receptionist left rudely without any apologies.
The receptionists should be trained and their service should be improved. Firstly, they should have checked that I have fully paid and should not secure a a deposit of almost euro 600. Only when I asked, they rechecked, but no apologies. Secondly, even after they rechecked, they did not check clearly that city taxes have been paid and insisted me to pay city taxes. No apologies either when they found out. The service from the lady receptionist (shorter girl with curly hair) was so rude and no apologies even though she was wrong in the first place.
I highlighted this issue and feedback to the shiftleader, Andreas Levi and made known to him about the receptionists. He immediately went to check and confirmed that all payments including city taxes have been paid earlier via credit card. Thanks Andreas Levi for checking and making our stay better.
Bed
Not sure why some beds have comforters/topper while some beds without. The beds with comforters are so comfy! Our bed without comforters.
Breakfast
For Europe’s standard, I think the breakfast in this hotel is considered good. With few hot food such as overcooked bacon, overcooked sausage, baked bean, and eggs. The omelette is nice (thanks to the chef!) Some selections of bread, lots of choices of good quality teas. Few selections of juices. Coffee machine. Fresh honey comb.
Complementary water
It is odd that complimentary water is only provided to the guests for the first night despite I stay 3 nights. This is the first time I experience this in Europe. Perhaps guest should make different booking for each night.
Proximity to trains and attractions
Close proximity to train stations and some main attractions.
Summary
Overall service was good (except for 1 rude lady receptionist). I will still recommend this hotel. Take the breakfast.

GGuest UserGood hotel, great location, but disappointed with the service… either you stay for one night or 4 nights they will only put once water in your room when you first arrive. Which is not fair for people who pays for several nights. I asked the front desk and they simple said no. Same about the Sauna… there is a sauna in the hôtel but it’s only open from 6pm!! Til 11pm.
That means we cannot go at all in the morning which is silly. So i went there at 6 pm but i had to ask the front desk to turn it on but they forgot about me and at 7pm it was still not on. Very bad.

AAnonymous UserI I had an unforgettable hotel experience. When I arrived, I tried to push the door open, but it was locked. There was no doorbell. Just as I was fretting over what to do, three groups of guests who had booked the same hotel tried to enter, but none of them could get in. Then one of the guests noticed a digital keypad and typed in the code from her email, but none of them could get in. Each of our groups tried their codes, but none of them could get in. As we were still fretting, the door suddenly opened, and a guest came out, allowing us all to enter. That guest explained that the hotel had emailed us a ten-digit start code and a four-digit comfort code. You had to enter the start code first, then the comfort code, to open the door. The other guests had both the start code and the comfort code, but my email only contained the comfort code. The kind guest checked my email and confirmed that it contained only the comfort code. He then called the hotel, and they said our reservation had been cancelled because we hadn't paid the city tax. However, I clearly saw on the check-in voucher that the €29.90 check-in fee was payable upon arrival. The staff member on the phone later said they would email us the payment and, after payment, gave us a new start code and comfort code. After payment, we finally got a room. However, upon checking in, I discovered it wasn't the Standard Studio with Balcony we'd booked, but a Standard Studio. I didn't want to call them again to complain about the mistake; I just wanted a comfortable room. The hotel's location is convenient, about a 5-minute walk from S train station, and the room was generally acceptable.

GGuest UserThey provided a late check-in which was super convenient. The room was quite cosy and the bed could be small for a huge person (bunk-bed in a 4 person dormitory). For me, it was perfect for a few hours of sleep.
The bathrooms and washrooms are shared and accessible separately outside the rooms. Very clean and comfortable stalls for a nice shower.
The breakfast didn't have a lot of vegetarian options and it was a small spread, but enough for a quick bite in the morning.
The staff is all helpful and friendly. Overall a good stay for a short time and on a budget.
The location was also very convenient to reach from the S bahn and tram station.
