"Even though there was no water or toilet paper in the room, it was spacious, clean, and quiet, so I slept well. And I was incredibly happy with the breakfast, especially compared to France. There was everything imaginable, the salmon was delicious, the coffee was great, the bread and cakes were freshly baked, and I loved the omelet too. While the service wasn't overly enthusiastic, everything else was excellent, and it was super good value for money."

"Location: Right outside Berlin Hbf (central station), incredibly convenient! I highly recommend staying at a hotel within a 5-minute walk of the Hbf if you're only in a city for less than 2 days – it significantly boosts your travel happiness. Breakfast: I absolutely have to rave about the breakfast setting at this hotel. It's a full sunroom and very artistic. Absolutely fantastic. "I was very satisfied with my stay at the Mercure Hotel Berlin City. Both check-in and check-out were completely straightforward and pleasant. As an All Accor member, I even received a complimentary early check-in and late check-out, which made my stay significantly more relaxed. The room was clean, well-maintained, and in excellent condition. I was particularly pleased with the great value for money, as I was able to book the hotel at a fantastic price through Trip.com. "The rule that you need to ask for cleaning before 11am at reception is weird. The QR cosde that was given to ask for cleaning did not work and you have to sta long queue with those who check in and out in the morning. Finally, we hardly managed to ask for towels change. Strange and uncomfortable. Otherwise ok hotel in a good location."

"As other reviews say the rooms are small but they are modern, clean and well equipped. The only issue we had is that the AC didn’t work initially. We told the staff and they said they would fix it in the morning in the evening it was not fixed, we told them again and this time it was fixed straight away (a problem with a window sensor). I wrote this review because I see people marking them down for small rooms which I think is unfair. If you want a large room and a large bed pay more for a more expensive hotel but for us this was by far the cheapest hotel of this quality in the central area and was more than suitable for sleeping and showering in comfort, while spending the days outside exploring the city. The location is fantastic!"

"Despite the great location, I cannot recommend this hotel. It falls far short of InterContinental’s five-star standards. My room was poorly maintained, with uncomfortable, gritty bedding and lackluster housekeeping that failed to clean basic items like a used tea cup or tidy the room while I was out. It felt more like a two-star establishment than a luxury hotel. I am extremely disappointed with the service and strongly urge management to take immediate action."

"The hotel is quite old, so the facilities are a bit dated. There was a noticeable, slightly musty smell from the carpets in the guest room hallways, but the service was decent. The location isn't the most convenient; it's about a 5-minute walk to the nearest bus stop. However, if you use a scooter, you can reach the Brandenburg Gate in just 7-8 minutes."

"The hotel's location is perfect. It's right around the corner from the south exit of Berlin Central Station. The first building you see is HUAZHU's European flagship, and the Intercity Hotel is the building right after that. You can even see it from the train, and the hotel has views of the station, which is a huge plus. Berlin Station's transport can be a bit complicated, so it's a great choice if you're new to the city. The room itself was fine – basic facilities, clean, and a bit business-oriented. My main issue was with the staff's very average attitude (hard to rate, honestly). They don't offer luggage storage themselves; you have to use a third-party locker service within the hotel, which is extremely expensive. A large locker costs €14 per day, completely messing up my plans for exploring after check-out. I definitely wouldn't recommend this hotel for day-trippers. Sometimes, the price difference between this hotel and the five-star one next door is only a small amount, so why wouldn't you choose the other? I can't think of a reason to stay here again. This is also the first time I've encountered a hotel in Europe/abroad that doesn't offer luggage storage. If this had been made clear before booking, I wouldn't have reserved a room."

GGuest UserAs good as advertised. A funky place. Clean, good sized rooms. Big windows. Great buffet breakfast. Close to East West Gallery and Warschauer Strasse train station, and LIDL, for picking up some extra items. The bar was nice, with live entertainment one night. On another night the bar was closed for a private event, but they had noticed up so that you could plan elsewhere. And if you needed anything from the bar that night, the front staff assisted. Would definitely come again.

GGuest UserDespite my explicit request for a quiet room when booking, the first night was very disruptive due to a high level of noise. Although I was assigned a new room the next day after my complaint, it was located opposite the fitness and sauna area. The loud slamming door caused by the high turnover of guests also prevented the desired night's rest there. I found the incident on my last day particularly distressing: even though I had put the “Do Not Disturb” sign on the door, a staff member gained access to my room with a master key around 8:00 AM. I consider this a significant violation of my privacy. Due to these experiences, I feel compelled to reduce my rating of your service by two points.

GGuest UserUnfortunately, the pool was closed and the sauna was required to login and the sauna area was able to use just 1 hour. The opening hours of the sauna from 14:00 to 20:00 on weekends are absolutely unacceptable for such a luxury hotel. We were very angry about it. When booking we have not received any information about the time in the spa is so regulated and it is completely closed in the pool area. At the reception, we received information that the pool was closed due to energy saving measures and also lacked staff. We believe that then the overnight prices must be adjusted accordingly if a significant part of the services cannot be provided. Unfortunately, we could not enjoy our stay as we intended!

GGuest UserIt's rare to find hotels that just got out right. The Circus Hotel is one of them! From a ”red carpet” rolled out in the hallways in line with their theme, to a handwritten welcome card with Bulow candy (Yum!), pictograms next to the light buttons, and lights that go on automatically when entering the room and give you 30 seconds to find the key card holder. Well done team Circus! Chapeau!

For places a bit further out, there’s a train station right in front of the hotel, which makes getting around effortless. There’s even a dm grocery store just a minute’s walk away, which was super convenient. The room was spacious, spotless, and well-equipped, with a full set of amenities provided from the start — something surprisingly rare in Europe. Overall, a very comfortable and well-thought-out stay. Highly recommend!

We tried ordering room service but we didn’t have a way to do it and when we called reception they basically told us to just look in the room for the menu. We only had a breakfast one. Other than that, everything else was awesome.

GGeiorgiestravelsThis is a very big hostel with hundreds of beds, though it did not feel cramped or loud. I had a quiet stay.   I stayed for 2 nights in a mixed dorm with three bunk beds and en-suite. The toilet and shower are separate which makes use easier. Hanson’s and shower gel is included, as is a hairdryer.   The room is spacious with tables and seating areas, this is also of use to those who on the top bunk who cannot sit on their bed as easily.  There is a mirror though a lack of hooks being only a hook and couple of hangers. The bed is of a metal frame and thus I was able to apply my travel straps and hooks to create places to hand my coat and bag. There is a locker big enough to take hand luggage sized bag (own lock needed).  The bed has a usb port for charging and a slot into which a phone will fit, though no individual light. The room has two lights and it is possible to turn on only one; the other people in my room came in and out at unsociable hours though we’re all respectful being quiet and also putting in the main light.   The mattress and pillow are comfy enough, you need to collect linen and make the bed yourself.  Everything was clean.  Reception is 24 hours though checking us via one of the 4 automated screens. It is through the machines that you do check in and pay tourist tax and the machine prints paper with your allocated room and bed number. You even activate the room card yourself. There is a sign in the desk with a map of blocks with room numbers in each one. That is all the welcome that you get; there is no explanation related to hostel layout or facilities. I had to ask in which direction to go to get to my block, the receptionist gave my directions and once I got to the room and found no bedding on the bed so went back to reception. The check in computer screen states that bed linen is provided free of charge and towels can be paid for at reception. The receptionist did not give me any bedding nor point to where to where to pick it up some thus I assumed the linen would be laid on the bed as in other hostels. The next day a person arriving in the room asked where he gets bed linen, he also did not get given any bedding even when talking with the receptionist. I do find it odd that you are expected to ask for the bedding: as this is the case I recommend updating the wording on the computer screen as it is ambiguous and gives the impression you only need to ask at reception if needing a towel.  There is a guest kitchen which has basic equipment: fridge, sink, microwave, 2 hot plates, 2 frying pans, 1 saucepan, some plates, bowls and some cutlery. There was one mug in which I made a cup of tea by heating water in the microwave. I recommend a kettle to boil water. The kitchen is sufficient for simple meals, making breakfast and sandwiches. I did not try the hostel breakfast.  There is one common area near reception with a bar and possibility to purchase food. Vending machines there. WiFi reliable. The common room can feel cramped when groups are there. There is good security as all entrance doors and lifts use card access. To access the guest kitchen ask at reception and they update your card.  The location is very good being 5 min walk from Ostkreuz train station. It is a direct line to Messe Nord where the bus station and FlixBus stop is. Easy to get public transportation into the cities. There are many shops, supermarkets and eating places nearby. Vegan kebab shop directly opposite.  Good value for money. I had a comfortable stay with no difficulties and I would stay again.
