It's already the second time I have spent my holidays at this hotel. The rooms are huge, sparkling clean and with a balcony that has a nice view. The bedding is comfortable and the overall service is outstanding. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The area is great, too. Restaurants, food stalls, supermarkets, beach, everything is in walking distance. We will definitely come back again.

The hotel's 260 m (284 yds) of beautifully-landscaped beach is an integral part of the hotel's design and environment. Cooling ocean winds can provide comfort almost anywhere in the hotel.
Early check-in was possible. Room was very spacious, although it was not brand new. I found the imperfections in furniture and room garnitures to be quite charming, giving it a South-East Asian touch of a very well aged guesthouse. The outside area is very beautiful and properly maintained with a lot of great scenery and places to chill. Two pools - warm one and natural temperature one - we had a pleasant time swimming in both. Seaside is fine, with sunbeds maintained by the hotel, located under mangrove trees’ shade. It is a pretty busy area for a reason, good for sunbath relax and swimming in the sea, so better come early for the best spots. The service was excellent in every department. Restaurants inside the hotel served good food, especially we liked Thai cuisine. Snack station nearby the beach is also good. They even have a fresh fruit shop with a variety of tropical goodies, reasonably priced for a hotel location. We didn’t try out spa however it seemed decent. Overall we enjoyed our stay very much!

We booked a family suite at the grand mercury but the suite was on the third floor, which made it very hard for us and our 1 year old to access and we weren’t really feeling the vibe of the suite. However, a concierge named Kiki came over and went out of her way to make us comfortable. Even though the entire hotel was very full and busy, she found us a huge suite, added two extra beds for our daughters to sleep separately, brought all kinds of fruits and drink every day and checked on us constantly during our entire stay. Even though the hotel is a bit dated, the hotel’s ancient style architecture, gardens, ponds and the style is something to be mesmerized by. You have a heated children’s pool and two big full size pools at both wings. The hotel stands in the center of the Baihua market like a gigantic Chinese temple, therefore, the location makes everything so convenient. Our what to have been an average stay was quickly fulfilled and transformed into smiles because of Kiki’s service and set a high standard for us on how hotels should treat their guests. If you stay there, ask for Kiki and you’re all set.

AMAZING! The villa was so great! So spacious! Nice and clean. It was VERY quiet and relaxing. The pool at the vila was not heated, but it was not necessary. Breakfast is great, very diverse. Every evenings there are live singing and good dinners with hot pot and sea food. We would love to come back! Staff was very helpful and friendly.

Location is good, close to beach. Walk 10 min to a nearby commercial center. Room is big and clean. Hotel is pretty old and some celebrities and government officials once visited this hotel. Swimming pool is big. Breakfast is ok, not many varieties. Anyway considering the price and overall quality of the stay, it is worth the penny.

Grand hotel with many amenities and in house sport & recreation activities as well as performances, but few areas are closed for upgrading. You can occupy yourself in the hotel for 1 day without going out to chill yourself. Our housekeeper, Moona Hu, is very polite and helpful. Providing hotel programs and checking our stay condition if there is ever help needed. Very good breakfast spread and all juices & fruits are freshly prepared at restaurant station. 5 minutes walk to Bailu Valley and beach just behind the hotel. Highly recommended.

GGuest UserThis was my second stay at the InterContinental, and this time it was for two nights. The underwater restaurant is quite unique. Winnie was incredibly thoughtful; despite a tight room situation, she managed to upgrade us to a Deluxe Seaview room. The room attendant kept our room very clean, tidying it up both days, and was very responsive, immediately arranging whatever we needed.
The staff at the hotel entrance were also proactive, helping with luggage and opening car doors.
The breakfast spread was extensive, with various local noodle dishes, fresh juices, and even a dedicated buffet area for kids, which felt very reassuring. My child thoroughly enjoyed the mini-train ride and participated in many activities like making hamburgers. Haitang Bay is relatively quiet, and the beach isn't crowded, with tons of crab holes! Haha. It's also very convenient for duty-free shopping, as the hotel has its own shuttle route.
Just before check-out, my child insisted on going for a swim, and Winnie once again worked her magic, helping us extend our check-out until 1:30 PM. A huge thank you!
Aside from the bad weather, our stay at the hotel was very comfortable. Hope to come back again.
LL RomanThe hotel is beyond expectations. It is located in Xiaodonghai Bay. We were vacationing with our daughter of 1.4 years old. We went for complete privacy, silence and relaxation. The hotel consists only of villas, there are about 30 of them, there are no building rooms, which ensures privacy and silence. The territory is large, incredibly well maintained and very beautiful. Beauty is in the details. The villa itself is well planned and consists of a main house and a small additional one. We had lunch here when we ordered something in the room. The personnel brought a high chair for my daughter and it stayed here during all days of our vacation. Interestingly, they don't just bring food to the room, but also serve the table. It's nice.
In general, the staff is as attentive as possible, this is reflected in the little things. The breakfast was included in the accommodation, so we either went to the hotel restaurant for lunch and dinner (only Thai and Chinese cuisine, but there is a children's menu and we ordered something for our daughter), and something Thai for ourselves. Everything is cooked very tasty and of high-quality. It was at this hotel that I first tasted the local Hainan dessert - cold coconut milk soup with fruits and cereals. I'm not a big fan of Chinese food in general, but I really liked this soup! We also ordered food directly to the villa through the Chinese app Elema (饿了么), which is in Chinese. We didn't go to street restaurants. In general, in China, the delivery of ready-made food is incredibly developed, you can order anything and anywhere. If we needed a taxi, we ordered it through the Chinese Didi (弟弟)app. But we didn't want to leave the villa and the hotel at all, we spent most of our time by the pool. Usually we need the sea, but this time it was so good to chill out at the villa that we somehow didn't need the sea). Moreover, we have a little daughter, and so far it has been more convenient to swim with her in our own pool than at sea.
We used Alipay to pay everywhere. During our stay, we visited the spa several times, took various treatments (body scrubs, various massages), we really liked everything. They do it efficiently, I recommend it. I also recommend trying small drinking coconuts in Hainan - they are divine! The very taste of a rich bounty)). Look for small brownish colors, no more than 10 cm in diameter, it has a very rich thick sweet taste of coconut. About the sea: if you are looking for active swimming in the sea, the hotel may not be suitable. It's very shallow here (that's okay) and after about 100 meters, where it's still shallow, there's an underwater breakwater. Therefore, if you swim, you will just bump into it. Because of this, there are no waves in the bay. But there are algae growing on the bottom. It may be possible to swim well during a very strong tide, but it was not possible to swim during our visit. That's why we spent the day at the villa, swimming and relaxing there. And after sunset, we went out for a walk along the shore, admired the sunset, played with our daughter in the sand and on the playground, and also strolled along the pier. For some reason, for the first time, we really didn't really want to swim in the sea). In general, if you want to spend your entire vacation in complete relaxation with the chirping of birds, the sound of the wind and the lapping of waves, then I definitely recommend Banyan tree.
GGuest UserOn the morning of my arrival, I received a call from Chris, our butler, asking about our needs and adding me on WeChat for communication. Even before reaching the hotel, I already felt the attentive service. He proactively sent me information about hotel activities and specialty restaurants on WeChat, which was incredibly detailed and a huge help for someone who hadn't done any prior research. Upon arrival, the hotel staff promptly responded and escorted us to our room. Throughout our stay, any questions I had were answered patiently and promptly via WeChat. When I got sunburned, Chris even thoughtfully helped me find some aloe vera gel. Overall, the service felt professional, attentive, and caring, leaving me with an excellent first impression of Atlantis. Traveling with a three-year-old, I was thoroughly satisfied with everything; we stayed at the hotel and didn't venture out, enjoying our three-day, two-night stay immensely.
GGuest UserWe stayed in the Wild Goose room type during the May Day holiday. During our stay, we saw squirrels, chameleons, and small monkeys in the park. Compared to Yunnan and Hangzhou, the squirrels here were the biggest I've ever seen, which shows the excellent ecological environment on the mountain. The hotel's breakfast was great, much better than the Hilton Yalong Bay where we stayed the previous two days. My picky eater child's appetite proved that, and the breakfast restaurant offers sea views, which makes eating more enjoyable. If you like peace and quiet, I recommend staying here for two nights. If you prefer a lively atmosphere, I'd suggest staying by the sea. It's lovely to quietly enjoy the sea view here, dine at a sea-view restaurant, and swim in a sea-view pool. However, if you want to experience bustling night markets and seafood stalls, you'll need to go down the mountain, which is quite inconvenient (as I got a bit carsick twice going down, even just from the lobby to Baihua Valley, a personal experience). The resort is divided into several areas, essentially small hilltops, from which you can see Haitang Bay (we could see a bit from our room) and Yalong Bay. Different room types, restaurants, and pools are also distributed across these various hilltops. If you have specific requirements regarding these, I recommend calling the hotel beforehand. After check-in, a manager contacts you. This time, Manager Sun who contacted us was excellent; she responded very promptly to any questions. She helped us book a guide service that the hotel cooperates with the scenic area. Additionally, the housekeeping staff would call to confirm if cleaning was needed. Overall, the hotel's service is definitely up to standard.
GGuest UserDue to work, I haven't had much time to spend with my child. So, my parents took my daughter on a trip to Sanya, traveling over 4,000 kilometers. After looking at many hotels, we finally chose WJ for three main reasons. First, it's a very kid-friendly hotel. My daughter, who is under three, loved the 'Little Dragon' outdoor playground during the day and the pool in the evening – she was so happy she didn't even want to eat! Second, as a five-star hotel, it offers great safety and security, which gave me peace of mind knowing my parents and daughter were staying there alone. Third, the hotel breakfast is truly amazing; it looked incredible when I video-called my daughter. In summary, WJ will definitely be our choice next time. Finally, a special thanks to staff member 'Little Fox' 🦊 for her excellent service.
AAnonymous UserThis trip, I stayed at the Sheraton Sanya Haitang Bay for four nights and three days, and honestly, it was incredibly comfortable. It was quite different from some of the negative reviews I'd seen online; my actual experience was really good.
We arrived at the hotel around 2 PM. Since we requested a high-floor room and also asked for an upgrade, we waited a little while but were checked in smoothly around 3 PM. The whole check-in process was very efficient. All the staff members were exceptionally friendly and pleasant to interact with.
The room itself was very spacious. When I opened the door, the view was fantastic – lush coconut groves right outside, and I could even see the ocean in the distance. The room was meticulously maintained; I didn't see any mosquitoes during my entire stay, and the hot water flow was excellent. When I first entered, there was a faint hint of dampness, but it completely dissipated after opening the window for a short while, so it didn't affect my comfort at all. The daily housekeeping staff did a very thorough and thoughtful job; the room was sparkling clean every time we returned.
What was particularly heartwarming was our dedicated butler, Tudou (Potato). He was enthusiastic and attentive, with a great sense of boundaries, which made me, as an introvert, feel especially at ease. He handled any requests I had during my stay perfectly and even proactively offered thoughtful reminders about the hotel's various activities and convenient services. Knowing we were traveling with a baby, he prepared baby-friendly amenities like a crib bumper and a baby bathtub in advance, considering every detail and saving us a lot of travel hassle.
The hotel's pool area was well-designed, with separate sections for adult and children's pools. The kids' pool had a bubble party every day at 3 PM, which the children absolutely loved. The pool for older kids was usually not crowded, and the water was clean and refreshing.
GGuest UserWe chose Shangri-La for our family trip this time. There were plenty of activities and great facilities for kids, so the adults could really relax. We stayed for 4 nights and 3 days, and we were very satisfied with everything, especially the butler Bella's excellent and dedicated service. She even gave us a small cake and gifts, which was a lovely touch. We'll definitely choose this place again next time.
✅ Room Type
We stayed in a Horizon Club room, and I believe we got a free upgrade to a sea-view room with the best view. Unfortunately, the weather wasn't great, but I hope we'll be lucky enough to get a great room again next time.
✅ Activities
The kids' club had a rich variety of fun parent-child classes, and you could even earn points to exchange for small gifts. Our family's favorite was swimming in the pool, and they also had go-karts. The cooking class was great too; the purple sweet potato cheese lava pancakes we made were absolutely delicious! 👏👏👏
✅ Dining
The buffet breakfast offered a wide variety of options, and there was even a dedicated buffet area for children! 🙋🏻 Baby wontons, fried snacks, yogurt, donuts, and even special high chairs for kids. Our little one insisted on sitting alone at every meal, not with us. 🤗🤗
The Horizon Club also offered soft drinks, afternoon tea, and a light dinner all day long. My mom even said not to book a room with executive lounge access next time, or we'd be eating all day long! 😹😹
There were also hotel ponies and ostriches. Our baby rode a pony this time and said he wants to come back next year to ride again. All in all, a big thank you to our butler Bella; we'll look for you again next time. We were extremely satisfied with our stay.
GGuest UserChoosing this hotel for my Sanya trip was such a smart decision! The location is absolutely fantastic, right by the sea, making it incredibly convenient for getting around. The room was clean, tidy, spacious, and bright, with excellent natural light and views. From my sea-view room, opening the window revealed nothing but the clear blue sea and sky – the sea breeze was wonderfully refreshing. The hotel's environment is elegant and tranquil, surrounded by lush greenery, creating a great atmosphere. The pool was clean and comfortable too. The staff were warm, polite, and provided thoughtful, attentive service, making for an excellent stay. The breakfast offered a rich variety of delicious options. Overall, the value for money is superb. It's my top choice for a relaxing getaway, and I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Sanya. Highly recommend!
GGuest UserThis hotel is located at the easternmost end of Yalong Bay, right next to the Underwater World, making it super convenient for water sports. We booked a sea-view king room, which turned out to be a couple's suite – it would be even more romantic if I had my partner with me next time!
Facilities: There's a self-service laundry room, but no dryer. It would be great if they could add one in the future.
Cleanliness: Very clean, especially the white bedsheets.
Environment: Right on the beach, so getting into the sea is very easy.
Service: The hotel staff are very enthusiastic, and they even offer travel photography services, which is perfect for capturing vacation memories.
Overall, it's a hotel with great value for money, highly recommended, and quite popular!
RRay142857Pros: The hotel offers a significant price advantage among beachfront hotels in Haitang Bay, making it ideal for families who want to stay by the sea but have a limited budget. It's very close to the ocean; you can walk straight out to the beach. At night, you can hear the sound of the waves from the balcony. It's a relatively convenient 1.4 km walk to 68 Global Food Street, seafood stalls, and convenience stores. It's quite family-friendly, featuring a kids' playground and club. The rooms are spacious, with basic room types around 50㎡, comfortable bedding, a scenic balcony, and expansive sea views from higher floors. Breakfast offers a rich variety, including a live bakery station.
Cons: There was a long wait to check in with no concierge to guide us, and after checking in, there was no follow-up from a butler, no hotel introduction, no kids' activity guide, no map, no fruit platter in the room, and certainly no inquiry or arrangements before our arrival. Overall, the service felt far below par, but for this price range, the value for money is still decent. We later received a thoughtful greeting from Ms. Linna of the hotel's guest relations department two days into our stay, which was much appreciated!
