Swissôtel Sanya Yalong Bay

This is my umpteenth time in Sanya, and I've already switched between seven hotels and guesthouses in the 13 days I've been here 😓. I won't mention the others, but the Swissotel really impressed me. The reason I keep changing hotels is because I'm quite picky, don't want to spend too much, but still want a good experience 😄. I initially booked two nights at the Swissotel, and that was only because my wife strongly recommended it; otherwise, I wouldn't have even considered it 😞, as it doesn't offer direct sea views and is a bit older. But when I arrived, it was completely different from what I imagined! The facilities are very new; I found out it was just renovated in 2024, so lucky me! It's right next to Baihua Valley, so dining is super convenient, and it's just a few minutes' walk to the beach, along a shady path. Taking a complimentary blanket to sunbathe is a daily morning ritual, and in the afternoons, we enjoy the heated pool. The breakfast is incredibly rich, and the hotel's Chinese garden design is beautiful. Later, I wanted to extend our stay for a few more days, but realized the prices had gone up due to the approaching Christmas, and availability was tight. We stayed in a family room, which was very unique, and the kids loved the bunk beds so much they didn't want to leave. I contacted Kiki, the duty manager, who was absolutely wonderful and helped me so much. She used vouchers to extend our stay by two nights, then upgraded our room, and even helped me find a cheaper rate on Ctrip to extend for another night, with another upgrade, plus complimentary breakfast and dessert. It was truly exceptional – saved us hundreds of yuan and we didn't have to move! I wanted to extend for a whole month after that, but it was fully booked during New Year's, so we had to temporarily move out. Kiki even helped me figure out how to get the best deal for our stay at 2 AM, after her shift ended. Saving money while traveling is important, but happiness is even more so. To stay at such a great hotel and receive such thoughtful service, I really had to write this to express my gratitude 🙏🏻

The views are beautiful, and the breakfast is delicious. The staff are especially warm and friendly, always serving with a smile. The room was clean and spacious, perfect for our stay with a little one. We were very satisfied! The beach is not far, and there are barbecue stalls on both sides, which is really great.

This New Year's Day, I traveled with my family. Sanya's weather was perfect, not too hot and not too cold. Even before we arrived at the hotel, our butler had already contacted us to ask about our estimated arrival time and other details. Once we checked in, they were incredibly responsive to all our requests, even arranging a late check-out and providing fruit and snacks. Plus, there are plenty of dining and entertainment options nearby, which was very convenient.

The room was spotless, no musty or damp smells, which is probably the benefit of staying at a non-seaside hotel. The service was genuinely good too. Breakfast runs until 11 am, so you can easily combine it with brunch if you go a bit later. They also offer a free shuttle bus to the duty-free shop. I'd definitely consider staying here again.

The hotel is very close to the beach, and there are plenty of dining, entertainment, and shopping options nearby, including a night market and commercial areas. The staff were incredibly warm and professional, helping with our luggage both upon arrival and departure. Our room was spotless and the facilities were top-notch. They even helped us reserve a better room, which made for a really pleasant experience overall.

The hotel's location is fantastic, with plenty of dining and entertainment options nearby. It's super convenient for getting to all the tourist spots. Ahtai Night Market is right next door, so we spent our days at the beach and came back to the night market for food and drinks in the evenings. They even had foreign singers performing – it was a really great experience!
