The environment is great and the service is excellent, especially since we had a lot of luggage to store. We dropped it off at the front desk in two batches, and they patiently helped us store it both times. There's also a scale in the lobby for weighing luggage. Our room had a view of the Tokyo Skytree, and the Skytree mall and Oshiage subway station are right outside, which is super convenient for direct access to both airports. The only downside was a faint, unpleasant odor in the room, possibly like foot odor, which was quite off-putting.

The staff's service was excellent and very friendly; they helped with every query. The dining area and kitchen at the entrance are very comfortable. The rooms and bathrooms are beautiful and clean. I would have preferred to be able to control the air conditioning in my room, but it was a central system. They allowed us to store our luggage and belongings downstairs because we had many bags, which was very much appreciated, as was their service for receiving deliveries. I would repeat my stay here in the future because of these positive aspects.

Overall I did enjoy my stay here. I think the hotel feels quite modern and has some amenities that make it quite appealing to travelers who may be on a budget. I'll start off with the Pros: 1. Location is pretty good - its close to the skytree and public transportation is easily accessible via that station. Depends on what you're looking to do but most places aren't that far to get to. Plus I like having a location that isn't too loud either which this spot does a good job at. Some konbini, super market, and food options around as well. 2. The lobby area is quite nice. You get free refreshments, bread, games, books, and a very nice area to sit in. If you just need to have a small breakfast or do some work or just chill with your friends with some games or even solo - it is a very nice area. 3. The hotel feels quite modern with it's design. 4. Lighting can be adjusted: I deeply appreciate rooms that allow you to adjust the lighting since certain rooms can be too bright at night or too bright when I have to use the bathroom in the middle of the night - here it's adjustable. 5. Some other things include that I thought the AC had good control, things were relatively clean. Of course the room is a bit small but it doesn't really bother me since I expect it and I'm just using the room to sleep basically. 6. Friendly staff 7. Windows can be opened - for some fresh air 8. Bed is long enough (I need a bed to be at least 1.95m) However, if you are sleeping with someone in the double bed, I would say its a bit too small for that. Width I didn't mesaure but standard double bed probably Cons: 1. No blackout shades is the biggest one. If you are sensitive to light in the morning and don't wanna wake up too early, you'll probably need an eye mask. I prefer not sleeping with an eyemask if possible but there's no blackout shades 2. I thought the bed was just ok, but I didn't particularly enjoy the pillows. Think they have a weird texture on the inside of it. Not terrible, but I would switch if possible. Overall I enjoyed it especially since this was one of the more affordable ones for my budget and I do recommend it!

Pros: The surrounding residential area is relatively quiet, and the room is spacious enough to fully open two 26-inch suitcases. Check-in was smooth, just entering the access codes for the building downstairs and the room door. Cons: The frustrating part was that room 503, which we were assigned, had no curtains. Later, we realized the entire curtain track was missing and had been removed and placed in a separate compartment (without screws or a screwdriver). We called customer service to discuss this (knowing English was really important, otherwise I wouldn't have known how to explain it). The customer service initially said they'd send someone to check, but then said the maintenance worker wasn't available and would only come tomorrow. I was like, 'Are we supposed to sleep with all the neighbors watching?' I immediately asked if we could switch rooms, and eventually, we moved to room 602, which had curtains. The whole ordeal took over an hour. Sometimes I feel it's better to be cautious when choosing Airbnb-style accommodations in a foreign country; it can be quite troublesome when you really need help.

The hotel is contactless. Please be prepared to receive an email 24 hours before check-in, asking for your passport information, after which you will be given key information. The hotel is in a five-story building with no elevator. There is a separate bathroom with a smart toilet. There is a kitchen with all the necessary cooking utensils. There is no WiFi. You must take your trash to your room on the ground floor. There is no smoking area; you should move away from the residential area. The area is very pleasant and quiet, and close to the center! The metro is a 5-minute walk away. 7/11 is right across the street 😄

This hotel comes highly recommended! It's located right under the Tokyo Skytree and very close to the subway station, with a shopping mall directly across the street. It definitely exceeded my expectations. Both the service and the environment were excellent. The room was relatively spacious, and I could even open my 28-inch suitcase without a problem. Plus, I got to enjoy a beautiful sunset view!

Great location, near asakusa metro station, plenty of restaurant nearby, can do midnight shopping in donki nearby, cleanliness is alright, toilet available in every floor, photo taken is attraction nearby steps away. need to pay extra for towel and slippers, it doesnt have private shower, you have to be naked in bathhouse, which might be a cultural shock for some people. The another red flag was you cant store your luggage after checkout, which is a troublesome for me as i was planning to go to narita at night :/ and i have to find coin locker somewhere else They said checkout is 12pm, but they removed my stuff to common luggage area in dormitory at 11am :/ Its recommended to stay if you are on tight budget, otherwise you still have many other choice to consider.

Lotte City Hotel Kinshicho is ideally located just 9 minutes from Tokyo Station. It’s a 1-minute walk from the North Exit of JR Kinshicho Station, and directly connected to Exit 5 of the Tokyo Metro Hanzomon Line. With direct access to Tokyo Skytree, Tokyo Station, Shinjuku, Shibuya, and Tokyo Dome, the hotel is a perfect base for sightseeing around the city. Some guest rooms and the elevator hall offer stunning views of Tokyo Skytree—ideal for soaking in the ever-changing cityscape throughout the day.

AAnonymous User 2026.03.06
The location is fantastic! The Hanzomon Line entrance is right in B2 of the same building, offering a direct train to Shibuya without any transfers. The bus stops for both Haneda and Narita airports are just a short walk, a couple hundred meters away. While the Narita bus has infrequent service, you can easily take a direct train from JR Kinshicho station. It takes a bit longer but it's super convenient and hassle-free. For shopping and entertainment, PARCO is right next door, along with a Toho cinema. Don Quijote is also within walking distance. The room is just about big enough to open a 26-inch suitcase (though it will block the way). For a hotel in Tokyo at this price point, the room size is actually pretty decent. Small bonuses: you can catch a glimpse of the Sky Tree from the window near the elevator, and a bit of Tokyo Tower from the room itself. The only slight downside is that they don't offer free luggage storage until the afternoon. Overall, it's highly recommended.

KkhosodaI had a wonderful stay at this hotel and was genuinely impressed by every aspect of the experience. The cleanliness was exceptional—everything from the room to the common areas was spotless and very well maintained. The room itself was spacious and comfortable, providing more than enough space to relax after a long day. The location is another major highlight. It is very convenient and well-situated, making it easy to access nearby attractions, transportation, and restaurants. This made my stay even more enjoyable and stress-free. The service was outstanding throughout my stay. The staff were friendly, attentive, and always ready to help with a warm and professional attitude. Their hospitality truly made a difference. The food was also delicious, with a great variety of options and excellent quality. Every meal I had was satisfying and enjoyable. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with my experience and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for comfort, convenience, and excellent service.

GGuest UserQuite a disappointing stay. I initially thought it was a Dormy Inn because the first characters of the name were the same, and it was also a hot spring hotel, which made it very confusing. The service here was a world apart from Dormy Inn. The room was incredibly small. The breakfast in the pictures looked very rich, and I thought it would be a lavish buffet, but it turned out to be just a bento box, and they didn't even provide cutlery. The price wasn't cheap either. It really ruined my mood. The hot spring was also tiny, and they didn't even provide hair dryers in the hot spring area.

MmtmlCleaning is chargeable at 1.5k yen per clean. Otherwise no cleaning whatsoever - but they do give you new towels and a trash bag daily (hung on your door knob). Breakfast is pretty cute and homely - I liked it when I tried it at a different province, so I rebooked dormy inn. They have a luggage scale at level 2, so very convenient if you have been shopping like crazy. The shopping street around the area is pretty interesting, and I love uneo park. However, some pretty strange stuff during my stay: 1. They insisted on entering my room for an ”inspection” but didn't specify why. When I called to ask, they said it was a bedframe inspection. As a solo female traveler my preference is not to let random people into my room, especially if they're not going to clean after these external people enter, but reception said they couldn't wait until my stay was over a few days later. When I came back to the room, my blanket was shifted and untucked entirely from one side, and my electronics were moved around. 2. A bug appeared on my sink mirror, so I gave feedback to the hotel staff as mini bugs means there's more bugs, and suggested that they fumigate. They said ”oh... sorry” suddenly all proceeded to look away from me and pretend I didn't exist, which was super weird treatment, and very rude lol. I didn't even ask them to change my room, the point is that these bugs are likely to have infestations, and if I came back in another trip to this hotel, I would not like to see more. They didn't even bother asking me what floor I was on, so 100% they don't seem to have any intention of dealing with this. Very weird and poor behaviour - I think it was too much to expect Onyado Nono service in Dormy Inn, so I don't think I will come back.

GGuest UserHere's a review of a hotel located in the heart of Akasaka, offering easy access to two subway lines. It's a quiet business-boutique hotel with more spacious rooms than similar establishments, making it ideal for commuting to the city center or exploring Roppongi/Akasaka. **Key Highlights (Reasons to Choose This Hotel):** 1. **Dual Subway Access + Central Akasaka – Convenient for Anywhere:** * Approximately a 4-minute walk to Akasaka Station and a 6-minute walk to Tameike-Sanno Station, covering multiple lines for easy access to Ginza, Shinjuku, Shibuya, and Tokyo Station. Haneda Airport is about 45-60 minutes away. * Within walking distance of Roppongi, Tokyo Midtown, and Akasaka Sacas, boasting vibrant shopping and dining areas. A 7-Eleven is conveniently located downstairs, making daily life easy. * The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful, making it a better option for rest compared to Shinjuku or Shibuya. 2. **More Spacious and Well-Designed Rooms Than Other Japanese Hotels in the Same Category:** * Standard rooms are approximately 15-18 sqm, larger than most business hotels in Tokyo, allowing two large suitcases to be opened without feeling cramped. * Comfortable bedding with memory foam/low-rebound pillows. Bathrooms feature bathtubs and smart toilets, with stable water pressure and temperature. Amenities are comprehensive. * Good natural light, with most rooms feeling bright and airy. Cleanliness is up to Japanese standards. 3. **Practical Facilities, Suitable for Long Stays/Families:** * A coin-operated laundry room is available on the 12th floor (washing 300 JPY/drying 100 JPY), and microwaves are on multiple floors, friendly for long-term guests. * A small, complimentary gym on the 3rd floor is a bonus for business travelers or fitness enthusiasts. * Cribs/children's amenities can be arranged, making it family-friendly. The front desk offers multilingual service, with fluent English, and handles luggage storage/package receiving efficiently. 4. **Consistent Service, Thoughtful Details:** * The front desk staff is enthusiastic and professional, responding quickly. Small items like chargers and hair straighteners can be borrowed, with some guests reporting feeling 'valued'. * Free high-speed Wi-Fi is stable. Some periods offer guidance.

GGuest UserShinjuku Granbell Hotel was my accommodation choice during this Tokyo Shinjuku trip. Part of the design-oriented Granbell chain, the hotel opened in 2013 and expanded with additional rooms in 2016. It has a modern and stylish vibe overall, making it a good fit for travelers who enjoy a bit of personality and contemporary feel. The rooms are decent—not particularly spacious (typical for central Tokyo hotels), but the design is pleasant and they come with Simmons mattresses, so the bed is comfortable to sleep in. What stands out is that the hotel has a very large number of rooms (reportedly over 400 in total), making it a mid-to-large-scale property. Check-in can occasionally feel a bit busy in the lobby due to the volume of guests, but operations run smoothly. Room types are quite varied, from standard doubles to loft-style rooms, offering good flexibility when booking. Location is one of the more debated aspects of this hotel. It is very close to the heart of Shinjuku—right inside Kabukicho—so you’re surrounded by endless restaurants, izakayas, convenience stores, drugstores, and nightlife. Walking distance covers popular spots like Korean Town in Okubo or Golden Gai, which makes evening strolls and late-night eating extremely convenient. However, if you rely on the subway, the nearest station (Higashi-Shinjuku) is about a 4-minute walk (official figure), but to reach the major hubs like JR Shinjuku Station or Shinjuku-sanchome Station, it usually takes around 15 minutes on foot (depending on your exact route, and sometimes you have to navigate through the lively Kabukicho crowds). For someone who enjoys walking, it’s manageable, but dragging large luggage or walking in the rain might feel a bit inconvenient. In short, the location is highly central and vibrant, but it’s not quite “step out the door and you’re at the station” level. Room cleanliness is acceptable—daily housekeeping is thorough, with bathrooms, bedding, and floors kept in good condition, and no noticeable odors or mess. Everything feels clean and comfortable enough for a pleasant stay, but there is nothing particularly outstanding about it. The decor follows a simple modern style, facilities are standard (free Wi-Fi, air conditioning, fridge, etc.), and while functional, it doesn’t wow you. Bathrooms are on the small side (normal for Tokyo), but hot water is reliable and usage is fine. They also offer free loan of air purifiers or humidifiers, which is a nice small touch. Other minor highlights include the rooftop terrace (great for night views or a drink on clear evenings), a café, and a bar with decent atmosphere. Breakfast is an additional charge, but with so many dining options nearby, skipping the hotel breakfast is never an issue. In summary, Shinjuku Granbell Hotel isn’t a top-tier luxury property, but if you’re looking for a lively Shinjuku location, moderate design appeal, clean and practical rooms, and surroundings full of energy and food options at a mid-range budget, it’s a solid and pragmatic choice. The large number of rooms means availability tends to be reliable. While the walk to major stations takes about 15 minutes, for anyone wanting to fully immerse in Shinjuku’s nightlife and buzz, that actually becomes an advantage. Overall value for money is above average. Recommended for first-time Shinjuku visitors who want a fun, convenient, and comfortable base without breaking the bank!

The only downside was limited space if you’re traveling with large luggage. The hotel’s location is very convenient it’s close to the train station and surrounded by plenty of restaurants.
