It felt like I was sleeping in a space capsule, yet only a few hundred meters from the ground. Late at night, looking through the public area's floor-to-ceiling windows, watching the Eiffel Tower's shimmering lights pass over the sleeping capsules, there was a cyberpunk sense of solitude. There's no privacy here, only the most precise routine for sleeping and showering. It's perfect for those who need to temporarily deposit their physical body while their soul is still on the move.

Nice and clean standard sized room for business hotel. Overall is what I expected from standard Japanese hotel with one safety concern of the vending machine/washing machine room. Around 22:00, I found people partying in the room and drinking alcohols sitting on the floor, they are not loud but the room is quite small which make it uncomfortable for those who actually go there to the vending machine or to wash their clothes. I wish hotel staff would regular check the room to prevent the room's misuse and make it comfortable for other guests. Upsides is the hotel is strategic location to reach the Haneda airport as it's only 800m away to Tokyo Monorail station which provides direct train to the airport. Other stations are Tokyo Metro Daimon station and JR Hamamatsuchō station which is 300m and 600m away, respectively.

My recent stay at the Richmond Hotel Tokyo Shiba was quite a shock, definitely not as good as previous Richmond stays. I encountered a lot of issues during my four nights there. First, regarding my request for 'no corner room' – I had communicated this in advance via Ctrip. However, each floor at this hotel is small with only a few rooms, so there's not really a distinction between corner or non-corner. But I was still assigned a corner room on the top floor, which was really inconvenient. If the elevators were busy, I had to wait quite a while 😂. Two elevators really aren't enough. Next, the cleanliness. On my first day, I didn't select the continuous stay option on the TV. The hotel's policy is to clean every three days. I changed it to have cleaning for the remaining three days. But, dramatically, the first cleaning was fine, while the second and third had issues. During the second cleaning, the hotel's cleaning staff left two of their rags in my room. I wrote a note, but received no response, giving me the impression they just thought 'oh well, it's in your room now' 😃. The third cleaning was very simplified, and some areas were clearly missed. As for the front desk, their English proficiency was quite limited, and sometimes they couldn't understand what I was saying. However, the female staff generally maintained a smiling service, while some of the male staff were expressionless. I originally chose this hotel because of its good location, close to the JR station, which was indeed convenient. It's also close to Shiba Shinmei Shopping Street, Shiba Park, and Tokyo Tower. But I'd say the service was mediocre 😂. The room was also quite small, and I felt there were too few power outlets.

We loved the location, very close to 3 different train lines but quiet to sleep at the same time. Tokyo station is nearby (3 stops on the train). Lots of little alleyway places to eat around the Hotel. View of the Tokyo Tower. Breakfast buffet had plenty of options, Japanese and western style. Convenience store adjacent to the hotel. Small room as expected in Tokyo. Handy self service luggage storage and check in process.

Chose this place because my roommate wanted to revisit it... Honestly, it was expensive with no redeeming features whatsoever... So overpriced! Completely not worth it. Let's talk about the environment – the only thing I can give high marks for. The surroundings are beautiful, giving off a feeling of tranquility amidst the hustle and bustle. As for service, there was none. Among the several front desk staff, the younger Japanese ladies were okay, but what's with the grumpy old woman? Who is she putting on that sour face for? I stayed again a few days later, and the feeling was even worse... They insisted I use the machine for check-in, even though the front desk would have been quicker. They wouldn't let me use an available spot, instead giving it to a Japanese guest. The hygiene was very unsatisfactory. During my first stay, there were hair strands stuck all over the bathroom walls... On my second stay, the towel literally had a clump of dust on it... In the middle of the night, the footlight kept flickering on and off and I couldn't turn it off... Good thing I had a roommate, otherwise, being alone, it would have scared me to death!

Sotetsu Fresa Inn Daimon is a smart, no‑nonsense place to stay if you are flying in or out of Haneda and want things to be smooth and fuss‑free. The overall feel is modern, efficient and quietly comfortable rather than luxurious. The self check‑in machines are a real highlight. After a long flight, being able to handle everything quickly on your own is a relief, yet you still see staff nearby who can step in and help in fluent English if anything is unclear. This mix of autonomy and human backup works very well in practice. Location‑wise, it is hard to beat. Being so close to the stations that connect directly to the monorail for Haneda almost feels like you are staying at an airport hotel, just with more character. Getting to and from the airport with luggage is straightforward, and you are still well‑placed to head into the rest of Tokyo for sightseeing or meetings. The neighbourhood around the hotel is practical and easy to live in. There are eateries that open late into the night, so you can still find a proper meal even if you arrive after normal dinner hours. Having a 24‑hour pharmacy and nearby shops means you can sort out any last‑minute needs without stress. Inside the hotel, the amenity station is a generous touch. Being able to help yourself to skincare products, face masks, toothbrushes and other essentials makes the stay feel more thoughtful than a typical business hotel. Rooms are on the compact side, as expected in Tokyo, but clean, comfortable and well equipped. Breakfast is probably the least impressive part: it is perfectly passable, but not something you would plan your morning around. Given how good and convenient the nearby convenience stores and cafés are, many guests might be happier skipping the hotel breakfast and picking up something outside instead. Overall, Sotetsu Fresa Inn Daimon works very well if you care about convenience, easy airport access and a smooth, low‑friction stay, with just enough small comforts to make it feel welcoming rather than purely functional.

I think this is probably the best bang out of your buck when you stay in Tokyo. Clean, spacious (Tokyo standard) convenient. Daimon station is literally outside of your hotel, easy to get to airport as it has the Haneda express line. I was lucky to get the corner room which is a bit bigger and got one more window. The room service may not be everyday since you need to put the sign before 10am to let them know but the house keeper will leave you a bag of amenities anyway. There was good restaurants, McDonald’s and Lawson around. I went during new years so was good to see the shrine near Tokyo tower. The only nitpicky thing would be they checkout at 10am sharp and check in at 3pm? Whereas other hotels would be 2pm check in and check out at noon or 11.

Oh, I forgot to mention something in my last review: sometimes booking separate nights can be cheaper than a continuous multi-night reservation. I stayed a total of 5 nights across 3 different bookings. For my Tokyo trip, the absolute highlight was staying at this all-female hostel – it's truly the best of its kind! It was my first time staying in a capsule hotel, and this entire 9-story building is dedicated to women. 1. **Convenient Location**: It's just a few minutes' walk from Shimbashi and Shiodome subway stations, with FamilyMart and 7-Eleven nearby. 2. **Capsule Pod**: It was much bigger than I expected! 1.3 meters wide and 2 meters long. I chose an upper bunk, and at 1.75 meters tall, I could sit up straight without my head touching the ceiling – I was very pleased! The pillow and mattress were comfortable too; I prefer firmer pillows and bedding. 3. **Communal Bathing Area**: Located on the 8th floor, you need to take off your shoes and enter barefoot. I was surprised to see so many long-haired women, yet there was hardly any hair on the floor; it was kept very clean! After a long day of walking, being able to sit down to shower and then soak in the artificial hot spring bath to relax was pure bliss! There were also many different toiletries to choose from, and the hairdryers were Refa – my hair felt so smooth afterwards. The hair oil smelled lovely, and I enjoyed using the peach-scented Johnson's body lotion. 4. **Communal Lounge**: On the 9th floor, there are tables for working. Free drinks are available 24 hours a day, free popcorn and waffles (motion-activated, quite cool!) are available after 5 PM, free ramen after 7 PM, and free curry rice in the mornings. There are also free massage chairs in the lounge, which was fantastic!

This is a very traditional five-star hotel in Tokyo. On the day I checked in, there was a wedding, and the family members of the wedding party greeted me very warmly. It didn't feel like the typical oppressive Tokyo urban atmosphere; it gave me a nostalgic feeling, almost like the Heisei era. The view from the window was also fantastic, directly facing Tokyo Tower.

I checked in the night before CM107 Day 2. For just over 100 per night, and with its super convenient location for taking the Seagull to Odaiba (or the Monorail to the airport), the price is definitely unbeatable. The subway Daimon Station is right downstairs, along with convenience stores. Staff service made check-in easy. The bed was quite firm, which I actually found comfortable after not sleeping well on soft beds the previous two nights. There's a light inside the capsule, but only one two-pin socket, which was a bit insufficient.

KkhosodaI had a wonderful stay at this hotel and was genuinely impressed by every aspect of the experience. The cleanliness was exceptional—everything from the room to the common areas was spotless and very well maintained. The room itself was spacious and comfortable, providing more than enough space to relax after a long day. The location is another major highlight. It is very convenient and well-situated, making it easy to access nearby attractions, transportation, and restaurants. This made my stay even more enjoyable and stress-free. The service was outstanding throughout my stay. The staff were friendly, attentive, and always ready to help with a warm and professional attitude. Their hospitality truly made a difference. The food was also delicious, with a great variety of options and excellent quality. Every meal I had was satisfying and enjoyable. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with my experience and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for comfort, convenience, and excellent service.

GGuest UserQuite a disappointing stay. I initially thought it was a Dormy Inn because the first characters of the name were the same, and it was also a hot spring hotel, which made it very confusing. The service here was a world apart from Dormy Inn. The room was incredibly small. The breakfast in the pictures looked very rich, and I thought it would be a lavish buffet, but it turned out to be just a bento box, and they didn't even provide cutlery. The price wasn't cheap either. It really ruined my mood. The hot spring was also tiny, and they didn't even provide hair dryers in the hot spring area.

MmtmlCleaning is chargeable at 1.5k yen per clean. Otherwise no cleaning whatsoever - but they do give you new towels and a trash bag daily (hung on your door knob). Breakfast is pretty cute and homely - I liked it when I tried it at a different province, so I rebooked dormy inn. They have a luggage scale at level 2, so very convenient if you have been shopping like crazy. The shopping street around the area is pretty interesting, and I love uneo park. However, some pretty strange stuff during my stay: 1. They insisted on entering my room for an ”inspection” but didn't specify why. When I called to ask, they said it was a bedframe inspection. As a solo female traveler my preference is not to let random people into my room, especially if they're not going to clean after these external people enter, but reception said they couldn't wait until my stay was over a few days later. When I came back to the room, my blanket was shifted and untucked entirely from one side, and my electronics were moved around. 2. A bug appeared on my sink mirror, so I gave feedback to the hotel staff as mini bugs means there's more bugs, and suggested that they fumigate. They said ”oh... sorry” suddenly all proceeded to look away from me and pretend I didn't exist, which was super weird treatment, and very rude lol. I didn't even ask them to change my room, the point is that these bugs are likely to have infestations, and if I came back in another trip to this hotel, I would not like to see more. They didn't even bother asking me what floor I was on, so 100% they don't seem to have any intention of dealing with this. Very weird and poor behaviour - I think it was too much to expect Onyado Nono service in Dormy Inn, so I don't think I will come back.

My husband really loved it. The amenities are also of good quality. If I visit Japan again, I would definitely choose to stay here—the price is very reasonable too.

GGuest UserHere's a review of a hotel located in the heart of Akasaka, offering easy access to two subway lines. It's a quiet business-boutique hotel with more spacious rooms than similar establishments, making it ideal for commuting to the city center or exploring Roppongi/Akasaka. **Key Highlights (Reasons to Choose This Hotel):** 1. **Dual Subway Access + Central Akasaka – Convenient for Anywhere:** * Approximately a 4-minute walk to Akasaka Station and a 6-minute walk to Tameike-Sanno Station, covering multiple lines for easy access to Ginza, Shinjuku, Shibuya, and Tokyo Station. Haneda Airport is about 45-60 minutes away. * Within walking distance of Roppongi, Tokyo Midtown, and Akasaka Sacas, boasting vibrant shopping and dining areas. A 7-Eleven is conveniently located downstairs, making daily life easy. * The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful, making it a better option for rest compared to Shinjuku or Shibuya. 2. **More Spacious and Well-Designed Rooms Than Other Japanese Hotels in the Same Category:** * Standard rooms are approximately 15-18 sqm, larger than most business hotels in Tokyo, allowing two large suitcases to be opened without feeling cramped. * Comfortable bedding with memory foam/low-rebound pillows. Bathrooms feature bathtubs and smart toilets, with stable water pressure and temperature. Amenities are comprehensive. * Good natural light, with most rooms feeling bright and airy. Cleanliness is up to Japanese standards. 3. **Practical Facilities, Suitable for Long Stays/Families:** * A coin-operated laundry room is available on the 12th floor (washing 300 JPY/drying 100 JPY), and microwaves are on multiple floors, friendly for long-term guests. * A small, complimentary gym on the 3rd floor is a bonus for business travelers or fitness enthusiasts. * Cribs/children's amenities can be arranged, making it family-friendly. The front desk offers multilingual service, with fluent English, and handles luggage storage/package receiving efficiently. 4. **Consistent Service, Thoughtful Details:** * The front desk staff is enthusiastic and professional, responding quickly. Small items like chargers and hair straighteners can be borrowed, with some guests reporting feeling 'valued'. * Free high-speed Wi-Fi is stable. Some periods offer guidance.

GGuest UserShinjuku Granbell Hotel was my accommodation choice during this Tokyo Shinjuku trip. Part of the design-oriented Granbell chain, the hotel opened in 2013 and expanded with additional rooms in 2016. It has a modern and stylish vibe overall, making it a good fit for travelers who enjoy a bit of personality and contemporary feel. The rooms are decent—not particularly spacious (typical for central Tokyo hotels), but the design is pleasant and they come with Simmons mattresses, so the bed is comfortable to sleep in. What stands out is that the hotel has a very large number of rooms (reportedly over 400 in total), making it a mid-to-large-scale property. Check-in can occasionally feel a bit busy in the lobby due to the volume of guests, but operations run smoothly. Room types are quite varied, from standard doubles to loft-style rooms, offering good flexibility when booking. Location is one of the more debated aspects of this hotel. It is very close to the heart of Shinjuku—right inside Kabukicho—so you’re surrounded by endless restaurants, izakayas, convenience stores, drugstores, and nightlife. Walking distance covers popular spots like Korean Town in Okubo or Golden Gai, which makes evening strolls and late-night eating extremely convenient. However, if you rely on the subway, the nearest station (Higashi-Shinjuku) is about a 4-minute walk (official figure), but to reach the major hubs like JR Shinjuku Station or Shinjuku-sanchome Station, it usually takes around 15 minutes on foot (depending on your exact route, and sometimes you have to navigate through the lively Kabukicho crowds). For someone who enjoys walking, it’s manageable, but dragging large luggage or walking in the rain might feel a bit inconvenient. In short, the location is highly central and vibrant, but it’s not quite “step out the door and you’re at the station” level. Room cleanliness is acceptable—daily housekeeping is thorough, with bathrooms, bedding, and floors kept in good condition, and no noticeable odors or mess. Everything feels clean and comfortable enough for a pleasant stay, but there is nothing particularly outstanding about it. The decor follows a simple modern style, facilities are standard (free Wi-Fi, air conditioning, fridge, etc.), and while functional, it doesn’t wow you. Bathrooms are on the small side (normal for Tokyo), but hot water is reliable and usage is fine. They also offer free loan of air purifiers or humidifiers, which is a nice small touch. Other minor highlights include the rooftop terrace (great for night views or a drink on clear evenings), a café, and a bar with decent atmosphere. Breakfast is an additional charge, but with so many dining options nearby, skipping the hotel breakfast is never an issue. In summary, Shinjuku Granbell Hotel isn’t a top-tier luxury property, but if you’re looking for a lively Shinjuku location, moderate design appeal, clean and practical rooms, and surroundings full of energy and food options at a mid-range budget, it’s a solid and pragmatic choice. The large number of rooms means availability tends to be reliable. While the walk to major stations takes about 15 minutes, for anyone wanting to fully immerse in Shinjuku’s nightlife and buzz, that actually becomes an advantage. Overall value for money is above average. Recommended for first-time Shinjuku visitors who want a fun, convenient, and comfortable base without breaking the bank!

Very Good
PPrincessPattingThe room was perfect for our family since everyone had their own bed. The beds were comfortable, which made resting after long days of sightseeing easy. The only downside was limited space if you’re traveling with large luggage. The hotel’s location is very convenient it’s close to the train station and surrounded by plenty of restaurants. There’s also a grocery store and a FamilyMart right outside the hotel, which was very helpful. The laundry area was another nice bonus for families traveling longer. Overall, a great and convenient stay in Ueno.

GGuest UserThe stay was enjoyable. The person that cleaned the rooms was really friendly and helped us always out. Washing machine was perfect for us. The only complain I have is that under the bed it was really dirty.
