Five-star review! Found my dream 'hidden gem' B&B! The entire stay exceeded all expectations, and the owner absolutely deserves a huge five stars! Let me start by praising the environment. I was instantly captivated the moment I stepped into the B&B. From the lush greenery in the courtyard to the thoughtful soft furnishing details in the common areas, everything radiated a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. Every corner was picture-perfect, and staying here felt like a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle – truly rejuvenating. And now for the coffee! I honestly didn't have high expectations, but the first sip was such a pleasant surprise. The taste was incredibly rich and smooth, and the aroma was fantastic. Enjoying a freshly brewed coffee in the courtyard each morning truly brightened my entire day; it honestly tasted better than many dedicated coffee shops I've visited. But the biggest surprise for me was the room's soundproofing. I'd initially worried about potential noise with other guests in a B&B setting, but once the door was closed, it was absolutely silent. I slept incredibly soundly all night, completely undisturbed by any outside sounds – a huge plus for light sleepers like myself! Overall, the experience was flawless. I've already recommended it to all my friends, and I'll absolutely be staying here again on my next visit!

Nestled amidst the emerald woods imbued with the Zen aura of Lingyin Temple, this white-walled, black-tiled Jiangnan-style courtyard stands just a hundred paces from the temple’s main gate. Cradled by the misty hills of West Lake’s Longjing tea plantations, it offers a private oasis beneath the Northern Peak, where pure air flows freely.
Six secluded guest rooms hide within a lush garden, each framing views of ancient temple eaves through their windows. Lying in stillness, guests may listen to the solemn chime of temple bells—a sanctuary for urban souls seeking refuge from the clamor of modern life.
"More than a guesthouse, it is a living gallery of Eastern aesthetics."
Between morning chants and evening drums, await an unexpected moment of enlightenment.

The villa complex is located near the Lingyin Temple. The lady boss is very considerate. I came at almost midnight and made an appointment in advance to keep the seat for me. As soon as I entered, I was attracted by two sleeping cats, one was i🐈 and the other was e🐈, both of them were very cute. When I arrived, my roommates were all asleep. The two soldiers were very friendly and had a very regular schedule, unlike me who is a night owl. There are big beds and parent-child rooms upstairs. I live in a youth hostel-style loft on the first floor, but the overall comfort is much better than that of a youth hostel, especially the three-piece suit is very soft and the rest is very good. The sanitary environment is also good. I recommend everyone to spend a few wonderful nights at their home when you visit the God of Wealth Temple by the West Lake in Hangzhou~~

The B&B's location is truly fantastic! It's only about a five to six-minute walk to Lingyin Temple, and just four minutes to Tianzhu Road, a charming street filled with cafes and restaurants. Plus, there's a staircase right from the courtyard that leads directly to Lingyin East Station – it's incredibly convenient! The B&B itself has a lot of character, and while the room was small, it felt very cozy. I really appreciated the 'shoes off' policy upon entering. The ladies at the front desk were all lovely, and they even brought us complimentary white fungus soup in the evening. Lastly, I have to mention the 12-year-old big brother cat – he was so calm and adorable!

I stayed at this hotel towards the end of the Chinese New Year holiday. The first room I had was quite spacious, but the TV and bed placement were incredibly awkward; leaning against the headboard to watch TV was impossible. Once I lay down, the room was extremely noisy. I endured it for a long time but still couldn't sleep. I called the front desk and found out it was the sound of air conditioning units from the building in front. I had to get up in the middle of the night to close all the windows to block out the noise. After that, without the loud noise, a low-frequency intermittent humming started up in the room, and I'm not sure what time in the early morning I finally managed to fall asleep.
The next day, I met a hotel manager and described the noise. He immediately asked, 'Was it an electrical hum? I'll definitely get you a quiet room today.' So, they clearly knew that room was noisy, didn't they? They were just testing guests' tolerance levels. The breakfast was a buffet, with more variety than a typical guesthouse but far from what you'd find at a star-rated hotel. It's very close to West Lake and Lingyin Temple, just a two or three bus stops away, which I guess is a positive point for the hotel. Also, in the room I was moved to on the second day, there were uncleaned cigarette butts on a very noticeable spot on the balcony floor.
In summary, the value for money is extremely low, completely failing to match the price of over 1,300 RMB. I will not be staying here again.

I stayed here last month and chose it again this time. It's very close to Lingyin Temple, and you can easily cycle there. Taking a taxi to Song Dynasty Town isn't far either. The room has underfloor heating, which is incredibly comfortable and warm in winter, unlike some AC units that can be noisy. The bathroom has plenty of hot water, and the deluxe king room even has a large bathtub. The mattress is just the right firmness, and the pillows are the perfect height, making it a great hotel for a good night's sleep. They provided a welcome fruit plate, local specialty pastries, and black tea for tasting – you can buy more to take home, and they're not expensive. When I checked out, the front desk even gave me another box of pastries as a gift. The restaurant offers a Chinese breakfast with a limited but delicious selection. The noodle station has various sauces to choose from, along with toppings like stir-fried pickled vegetables with bamboo shoots, braised pork, minced meat, and crispy pork. For cold dishes, there's ice plant, cold beef salad, and shredded tripe. The dessert section has amazing sugar-glazed fried dough balls and fried spring rolls. Main courses include brown sugar steamed cake, siu mai, and several types of steamed pastries. There's also a small stove where sweet potatoes are roasted, and you can help yourself once they're ready.

This place is 1km from Su Causeway at West Lake, it's clean and tidy, and has great views from the window. The landlady is very welcoming and gave us detailed information about local food, attractions, and scenic spots. There's a rooftop terrace, which is perfect for enjoying the views and sunbathing. Right outside is a hiking trail up the mountain, so if you have enough time, you can leisurely explore around the guesthouse. Highly recommended!

Facilities: Excellent! The place felt incredibly cozy and wonderful. We even got a room upgrade, which was an unexpected and beautiful surprise. All the amenities were top-notch, and the bedding felt luxurious.
Cleanliness: Spotless! No dirt, no hair anywhere. It felt thoroughly disinfected, and the floors were gleaming.

Service: The owner's warm hospitality truly made us feel at home; it was incredibly cozy and comfortable. She also had so many ingenious and thoughtful touches to make guests' stays easier. She even helped us find parking for our car and secured a discount for us when we checked out. Absolutely worth experiencing!
In today's fast-paced world, finding such genuine warmth and hospitality while away from home is truly precious and makes us look forward to future stays. Wishing the owner all the best and continued success in her business!

I stayed here with my boyfriend and our elderly family members. It's incredibly close to Lingyin Temple, making the location absolutely fantastic. There are also plenty of delicious local farm-to-table restaurants nearby. The environment and air quality are great. The hotel facilities are excellent, with a lovely vintage vibe. The breakfast was also very thoughtfully prepared, and they even offered afternoon tea and a sweet soup for our first night.
What truly stood out were the owners. They let all four of us experience DIY beading and even allowed us to take some beads home. Their service was exceptional; they were never impatient and always incredibly polite and patient throughout our stay.
Overall, we were all very satisfied with our stay.

Aandy.yeweiTrue to its Mercure name, this hotel is located right in the city center with incredibly convenient transportation. It's just a 5-minute walk from Jianguo Middle Road Station on Line 5. The room is spacious and comfortable, and the bathroom even has a smart toilet. Breakfast is served on the 15th floor, offering a good variety of both Chinese and French options.
GGuest UserPros: Jojo, our butler, provided excellent service, and the travel photography was great – the photographer was very dedicated.
Cons:
1. Breakfast options were limited, and items were frequently missing. The coffee machine was terrible, producing a watery, tasteless drink.
2. The paid activities, especially the boat tour and farm visit, were very poor quality. An older staff member had a bad attitude and kept rushing us, saying other guests were waiting. Including the walk to the vegetable garden, we only spent about 15 minutes picking. For the boat tour, we had to insist just to get a short drift on the lake; initially, they claimed it was too windy to paddle. It was a really frustrating experience.
Overall, apart from the butler, the service from other staff members was very mediocre. I've also seen complaints on social media about their lacking 'soft services.' I'd suggest they learn from Naked Group; I've visited Naked Castle and Naked Retreats several times, and their complimentary services are consistently high-quality, with exceptionally enthusiastic staff.
GGuest UserFacilities: The facilities are complete and well-equipped, with a reasonable layout. Hygiene: The environment is beautiful and comfortable. Hygiene: It's clean and tidy with no strange odors; housekeeping cleans every day. Service: The service is excellent.
GGuest UserAfter a long search, I finally settled on this hotel, and it turns out I made the perfect choice – it's absolutely fantastic! Even better than the photos suggested!
The location gets 5 stars, no doubt about it, as it's exclusively situated on its own island (Fulu Island). The room was even more perfect, earning 5 stars and then some! It boasted a huge private terrace, perfect for enjoying tea, chatting, and soaking in the stunning lake views – truly amazing! Our room type was on the top floor, incredibly quiet at night, providing a truly immersive experience with unbeatable views. With a view like that, who needs anything else? The items in the room were all thoughtfully chosen, and I was pleasantly surprised to find two bedrooms and two bathrooms – no fighting over the toilet in the morning, just perfect! All in all, every aspect of this stay exceeded my expectations. I'll definitely be bringing my family back next time.
Oh, and a special shoutout to Jessie at the front desk – her service was excellent, very attentive, and highly professional. Thumbs up!
MM432833****We were so disappointed!
👎 Having stayed at over twenty 5-star hotels in the past two years, this was by far the worst.
1. 💡 The facilities are incredibly old and often broken. For example, the vanity mirror was shattered, and the desk lamp flickered on and off.
2. 🛀 You have to wait at least a minute for hot water when showering, which is a very long time, wastes water, and is especially bad given how cold it is in winter.
3. 🛜 The Wi-Fi is terrible; videos constantly buffer.
4. 🏠 The bathroom floor has obvious, old stains that are absolutely disgusting 🤢.
5. 🍳 Breakfast was bad. The fried dough sticks (youtiao) were pre-made, the baozi had thick skins and little filling, the 'thumb-sized' pan-fried buns were greasy with hardly any meat, and the 'freshly squeezed' soy milk was clearly made from powder. The beef noodles and egg pancakes were okay, though.
6. For the DIY craft experience, there was only enough for one person per room, which was incredibly awkward for a couple. What's even more puzzling is that the cheapest room costs 2500 RMB??
👍 On the positive side, the staff were enthusiastic, there was a golf cart shuttle service, and they helped with luggage. The public areas were beautiful, and the intangible cultural heritage aspects were interesting.
MM2g5bl4kj****Staying at the Hangzhou Shuxiang Shijia Hotel with my parents was the best decision of our trip! The hotel's impeccable care for older guests made our whole family feel incredibly comfortable and at ease. From the moment we checked in, the staff were warm and proactive. Noticing my parents were older, they deliberately slowed their speech and answered questions patiently. This respect and consideration made my parents feel truly cared for.
The details in the room particularly touched us! The anti-slip shower stool, specifically prepared for older guests, greatly reduced safety concerns during bathing, and this thoughtfulness gave us, as their children, immense peace of mind. After a day of sightseeing, the provided traditional Chinese medicine foot bath bucket was a brilliant touch. My parents soaked their feet, relieving fatigue and promoting better sleep, and they both raved, 'This is wonderful!'
The hotel has an elegant, traditional Chinese style, and there's a small park nearby, perfect for my parents to stroll or relax. Unlike hotels in bustling downtown areas, it's very quiet, ensuring excellent rest quality. The hotel's location is superb; it's very convenient to get to major attractions like West Lake and Hefang Street, whether by taxi or subway, saving my parents from long, tiring journeys.
When traveling with parents, comfort and safety in accommodation are paramount. The genuine details in Shuxiang Shijia Hotel's elderly-friendly services far exceeded our expectations. It's not just a hotel; it's more like a tranquil haven where older guests can rest assured. I highly recommend it to anyone planning to visit Hangzhou with their parents or family; it will definitely make your filial journey even more perfect!
TTewenbaobeiAbsolutely amazing! I arrived quite early for check-in, and since the room type I booked wasn't available yet, the front desk attendant proactively upgraded my room! She was incredibly kind and sweet. She's seriously the best! When I was leaving today to catch my ride, she even ran over to help me with my luggage. So incredibly thoughtful! The hotel itself is also very clean and hygienic, making it a highly recommended place to stay. It's also pretty convenient for getting around!

Very Good
PPutongdexuanbaoHad a very uncomfortable stay. I was in Hangzhou for a spontaneous trip and booked what seemed to be the last room in the busiest area around Intime. I was assigned a room on the 4th floor. Although it had a window, it appeared to be right next to some building pipes, making the light very dim. The room was freezing, even with the thin duvet! I had to ask for an extra blanket due to the cold.
The room was cramped, with mold along the edges of the shower. The toiletries looked unhygienic – the kind where you can easily refill them, which isn't suitable for guests who prioritize health and safety. So, hygiene gets 1 point because the entire room and the soft furnishings weren't clean enough.
When I tried to shower, I ran the water for a long time, and it was still only lukewarm. The plumber who came had an attitude that made it seem like it was our fault, which was very frustrating and lowered my service score. Strangely enough, after he 'tested' it, there was hot water! It's been a while since I stayed in an old hotel like this; even with renovations, it can't compare to new hotels where hot water is instant.
The breakfast seemed to have a good variety of ingredients, but the dishes were either blackened or overcooked, which was a shame.
Overall, I will not be staying here again.
AAnonymous UserI stayed here alone for four nights. The room layout was decent, giving off an old-school five-star hotel vibe, and all the facilities worked well. Plus, there's a street-facing balcony, and it was quite refreshing when the breeze blew in. The breakfast had a wide variety of options, but they weren't particularly refined. The service across the board was excellent, from the front desk to the restaurant and housekeeping staff. The hotel's main entrance is right next to a night market on the left, and West Lake is just across the street, making its location superb and offering good value for money. An added bonus is that during the Chinese New Year period, parking was free, which was a huge convenience.
