The hotel is located near Nanjing East Road Pedestrian Street in Huangpu District. Pros: 1. **Excellent Location** * Situated in the heart of Nanjing East Road's commercial area, it's close to attractions like The Bund, Yu Garden, and People's Square. The subway station is within walking distance, offering convenient transportation. * There are plenty of shopping and dining options nearby, making it ideal for travelers who enjoy urban convenience. 2. **Well-equipped Business Facilities** * The hotel features meeting rooms and a business center, suitable for business travelers. Some rooms are equipped with office facilities, and the internet connection is stable. 3. **Service and Cleanliness** * As a brand under the InterContinental Group, the service standards are high. The front desk is responsive, and room cleaning is thorough. 4. **Good Views from Some Rooms** * High-floor rooms offer expansive views of Nanjing East Road's streetscape or the city skyline. --- Things to Consider: 1. **Slightly Dated Facilities** * The hotel opened a while ago, so some areas have a more traditional decor, and room facilities might seem a bit old-fashioned. It may not suit travelers looking for trendy designs. 2. **Fluctuating Prices** * Room rates can be high during peak seasons or holidays, so value for money needs to be assessed based on the time of year. 3. **Noisy Surroundings** * Due to its location in a bustling area, lower-floor rooms might be affected by street noise. It's recommended to choose a higher floor or a room facing away from the street. 4. **Average Dining Experience** * Breakfast offers a good variety, but nothing particularly stands out. There are many dining options nearby, where you can try local specialties. --- Summary: * **Recommended for:** Business travelers and first-time visitors to Shanghai who prioritize convenience. * **Consider carefully if:** You have high expectations for hotel design or a quiet environment. * **Tip:** Book in advance and keep an eye on prices. Opting for a higher-floor room is recommended for a better experience. Overall, this hotel's prime location is its strongest asset, making it suitable for travelers whose primary need is convenient transportation.

This is my second time staying here. The hotel staffs are very friendly and helpful. They try their best to accommodate us in all aspects. I bought a pair of shoes that would be delivered to the hotel on the next day, I informed the concierge and they thoroughly went through details of the expected parcel to prevent errors and miscommunication with the delivery. The next day when my parcel arrived, the concierge called and make sure the parcel delivering was the correct one for me. As for the house keeping, they noticed that we drank all 4 bottles of complimentary water everyday and from our 3rd day of staying onward they gave us 6 bottles without our request. Not to mention that I accidentally spilled milk over my bed in the rush, I informed the front desk before we headed out and they enthusiastically told me not to worry they would send the house keeper to change my bed sheet right away. In the morning of our last day, Oliver from the front desk called to confirm our check out and informed that hotel’s check out time was twelve noon. They also asked how many luggage we had and what time would we want the concierge to come collect them which I told them to come up around 11am, and at 11am sharp they rang on my door. Oliver from the front desk came along with the concierge, accompanied us down and helped us through the check out process and luggage deposit. Around 1:30 pm when we came back from lunch, our luggage was ready for us to pick up and headed out to the airport.

My family loved the location. some parts of the facility is a bit dated maybe a little bit of renovation plan is on the way. i can see the place to be a top tier place with upgrades in the future. we had our taobao deliveries straight to our rooms and some we had collected on the 7th floor guess facilities. All the staff was extremely helpful. no hesitation there. breakfast was great, we had our fill. Generally it was clean, bed was clean, counters was spotless. i had to put 4 star there since everything looks a bit dated especially the ceilings, it looks a bit musty

We had a very pleasant stay at the Marriott hotel. The room was clean, tidy, and comfortable, and housekeeping kept everything in great condition throughout our stay. The front desk staff were friendly and efficient, and our room was allocated quickly when we arrived. The hotel porter was also very helpful and active in arranging and loading our luggage into the car when we left, which we really appreciated. What impressed us most was the service after check-out. We realised we had left our child’s cow doll in the room, and when we contacted the hotel, the staff replied promptly, found the doll, and arranged to send it back to us by courier. This thoughtful gesture showed how much they care about their guests. Overall, it was a great experience and we would definitely be happy to stay here again.

True 'burning the midnight oil' session 💡 Retreat day 🤵 This is where I did my university internship 15 years ago. Walking past the lobby bar, I can't help but remember the glass I broke and tweaking my back back then~ [wipes away tears with a smile] 🏨 I must say, even though it's an old-school hotel and the facilities and design style are quite dated, it still has its unique charm. The service quality of the Okura brand is also very much on point~ The dinner included in the package was pretty good too. 📚 The book is a tough read, but in this place that holds so many of my youthful memories, my heart feels exceptionally peaceful~ ❤️

Extremely convenient with excellent transport links and well-appointed facilities. The hotel is clean and tidy, definitely worth a return visit. Its proximity to the train station, just a short walk away, is a major plus. The hotel boasts a beautiful environment and makes getting around a breeze. The location is absolutely fantastic; it's only a few minutes' walk from Shanghai Railway Station, and just 100 meters from Metro Exit 5 – so easy even with luggage. It's incredibly convenient for catching trains or transferring to Metro Lines 1, 3, and 4. Plus, attractions like the Bund and Jing'an Temple are only about a 15-minute drive away, making sightseeing planning effortless.

Looking for a high-value stay in Shanghai? Kempinski's all-suite hotel is your top choice! 🤩 A hidden gem in a bustling area. The location is absolutely perfect! 👏🏻 Right outside, you'll find HKRI Taikoo Hui and the Nanjing Road shopping district. It's incredibly convenient for getting around with the West Nanjing Road subway station just steps away! Hotel guests also have access to the fitness center on the third floor, perfect for unwinding after a stressful day. And you can walk directly to the city's new landmark – the Louis Vuitton building! 💎 The rooms feature bay windows with great views, so you'll wake up to warm sunlight every morning. 🌞 What truly stands out is Kempinski's butler service. From the warm welcome messages upon check-in to the attentive care from the room butler, every day of my stay was delightful! 😃

This stay, though expensive, was great. I was greeted by friendly staff at check-in who immediately upgraded my room because I booked through Trip.com. I ended up in a huge suite room with two big beds, sectional sofa, glamour station, double-ended bathroom, with two doorways leading to a massive balcony (Room 8888), and the hotel also has a viewing balcony where you can see The Bund from an elevated position. The location is perfect for exploring The Bund. It's just a short stroll to the historic waterfront where every night there are thousands of visitors and photographers. There are plenty of restaurants around, and the iconic Yu Garden and Xintiandi are minutes away. Just across the Huangpu River is Pudong, and there lies the Oriental Pearl Tower, Shanghai Financial Tower, the Shanghai Aquarium and a museum center. This location is excellent! For the incredible upgrade, the unmatched service, and the vibrant energy, this hotel ranks high.

Booked a collection executive room and was very happy with my room on the 29th floor with the most perfect view on Shanghai's skyline. Hotel is perfectly located on the Nanjing East road in the very center of Shanghai. Hotel itself and rooms are a bit worn out - need renovation in the nearest future but room was immaculately clean and provided with fresh bottled water every day. Breakfast was very good - both chinese and western. cuisine provided, lot of fruit, pastry and very good coffee. Special thanks to the executive lounge manager Annie who is the most friendly and helpful lady with perfect knowledge of english language. During the happy hours and afternoon tea time Ms. Annie explained clearly all the choices of food served and the beverages.

The Bund Area Shanghai|1.27km from downtown
Today is my last day at The Westin Bund Center Shanghai. At first, I loved the hotel, but unfortunately, the experience has slowly deteriorated. Before arrival, I had tried emailing ************************* to make a small request to celebrate an anniversary, but the email failed to deliver with an error saying the recipient’s server didn’t recognize certain characters. I’m not sure why, as the email was in English and sent from my phone. At check-in, I mentioned this to the receptionist (his name started with “C”), who was very polite and spoke to the lady behind him, asking her to reach out to Angela to assist. He then told me to head to my room and assured me I would be contacted. I waited for an hour in the room with no update, so I went out hoping to find a message upon my return, but sadly, there was still nothing. The email issue could have been my fault, and that is fine. But what is unacceptable is being promised a follow-up for such a special occasion and then never receiving it. For a hotel of this standard, I expected better communication and service consistency. Later, my son lost part of his toy, which led me to start searching around the room. While doing so, I discovered dust under every cabinet. Worse, I found what looked like someone else’s cream bottle stuck between the bed and the dresser. This makes me believe that the bottom part of the bed sheet was not changed, as housekeeping would almost certainly have noticed such an item if the bed had been properly stripped and remade. I have stayed in many Marriott properties, and this is the first time I would give only 2–3 stars. :(

Although the room was small, it was very well-appointed. From the window, I could see iconic landmarks like Shanghai Tower and the Oriental Pearl, and Jing'an Temple was right in front of me. The service was standard and reliable, always responsive to requests. Breakfast had limited options but was exquisite. The in-room dining service was very convenient. The wonton noodles I ordered the first time were exceptionally delicious, so I ordered them again today for lunch, but the taste and texture were significantly different, and I'm not sure why. The cuisine at the second-floor restaurant, Yuanyuan, was good and reasonably priced. The service there wasn't overly enthusiastic but was very thorough.

The Grand Central Hotel Shanghai is located next to Nanjing road so it’s very central. The decoration of the hotel looks a bit outdated which lots of golden colors and palm trees in the lobby. Upon my arrival the concierge staff helped to take out my luggage from the car and as we were walking inside he wanted to store my luggage and telling me that check in was at 2pm. I arrived at 12pm. I told him I will go to the reception first and brought my luggage with me. The receptionist checked my booked and said the room isn’t ready and asked me to wait. As I was very tired I asked how long I need to wait and he said until 2pm. I asked if I could perhaps double check at 1 pm and he said ok. I checked again at 1pm and the room wasn’t ready. Finally I got the room at about 1:40. The room size was good and the maintenance of the room was ok although a bit worn out but the decoration looks very outdated and makes the room look more old. Moreover, they had some old brochures in the room which doesn’t really apply to today’s needs such as an old Shanghai yellow pages catalogue etc. Furthermore, there was two bottles of water in the room with tags and on the tag it was clearly stated that only two bottles of water is provided per day per room and additional water bottles will be charged at 10RMB per bottle. I think this makes the hotel seem stingy, supposedly stating that it’s a five star hotel. Haven’t encountered this at hotels with lower star ratings that I stayed at. Another issue was that the HBO channel on the TV didn’t work and that was the only foreign channel on the tv for movies so perhaps international travelers wouldn’t have much to watch. My stay was so so.. the most positive aspect being the central location.

This time I stayed in Lujiazui for the convenience of dining and travel. Among similar room types, the value for money was high, especially since we needed a suite with family. After consulting the hotel in advance, we chose the Pujiang Building (old building) based on our personal needs. You can see the river from there, although the suite's view was a bit lacking. However, the swimming pool on the fourth floor and the executive lounge both offered excellent views. The new building overlooks the 'Three Piece Set' (referring to the three iconic skyscrapers), but I personally prefer the style of the old building. Both buildings have takeaway lockers downstairs, which is very convenient. The New Year's desserts were both beautiful and delicious, and the staff provided a lot of assistance. The room was very comfortable, allowing us to sleep in until we naturally woke up... We didn't leave until the afternoon. Whenever I stay in Lujiazui, I'll choose this place.

Review: The Langham Shanghai — Still Well-Located, But No Longer the Same The Langham Shanghai has long been one of my preferred hotels, especially before the pandemic. After many stays, I’ve come to expect a certain standard of hospitality, consistency, and refinement. This recent visit, however, showed a noticeable decline across several areas. Service Overall service from the staff was acceptable. Front-line employees remained polite and tried their best. However, the manager on duty—a Caucasian manager—felt out of touch with Asian hospitality norms. His attitude came off as dismissive and rude, which immediately set the wrong tone. The contrast between the staff’s warmth and his behavior was striking. Breakfast Buffet The most significant drop was in the breakfast buffet. Quality has slipped in a way that’s hard to ignore: food didn’t taste as fresh, dishes weren’t as well prepared, and the overall selection felt uninspired compared to previous years. At this point, it’s honestly better to go out for breakfast. Room & Housekeeping Room cleanliness was fine, but small inconsistencies added up. Turn-down service was missed on some nights. When I requested water refill, the staff who arrived seemed confused about why she had been sent up, leading to an awkward exchange. These are small moments, but in a five-star hotel, they highlight cracks in training and coordination. Overall Impression The Langham Shanghai still has one unbeatable strength: location. But nearly everything else has declined—food, consistency, management attitude, and attention to detail. After years of loyalty, I’m now considering switching to a different hotel for future trips. The experience simply didn’t match the standards I’ve known and trusted from The Langham brand. A disappointing stay from a once-reliable favorite.

The Japanese-inspired decor created such a cozy atmosphere, and the staff greeted us with warm smiles throughout. Check-in was quick and incredibly thoughtful, and we even received a complimentary room upgrade! A special shout-out to the private hot spring in the room! Soaking in the wonderfully warm bath at night, with complimentary tea and bath salts thoughtfully provided nearby, was pure bliss. My body instantly relaxed, and all my fatigue melted away. The water quality of the bath was impeccably clean, which was incredibly reassuring. The room amenities were also impeccable. The bedding was so soft and comfortable, I fell asleep the moment I lay down. The toiletries had a subtle, refreshing scent that felt lovely to use. Breakfast was a semi-buffet, and while the selection wasn't vast, every single item was exquisite and delicious. While the location isn't in the city center, its peacefulness is a huge plus. The main advantage is its proximity to Disneyland, just two bus stops away. Although there's a shuttle service to Disneyland, it's just a small commercial van, making it impossible to book during holidays. The hotel room facilities are good, with everything that should be there. The smoking area outside is also very beautiful. The breakfast in the morning is very good, it is self-service, and there are freshly made noodles to eat. If you are thirsty, you can go downstairs at any time to have some drinks and fruits, which are all included in the hotel package. Why the deduction? Like many reviews wrote, the water in the pool here is really too hot. It is the hottest of all the hot springs in Shanghai that I have been to. It feels too hot. I saw that several children could hardly soak in the water for a while. I don’t know why so many people complained. I saw that the management was still saying in the comments that it met the hot spring temperature requirements. What they said is that your water is too hot, and they are giving you suggestions. Everyone in the hot spring said that the water was hot, not that you violated any regulations... It takes talent to reply like this

It’s perfect for a romantic and cosy staycation, very quiet and private! The water in the private hot spring, surprisingly, comes from a real underground spring so it’s quite hot. Because it’s summer, we had to wait for it to cool down a little bit but it was perfect later on, especially during the night, we stayed in there past midnight and it was amazing. The grandeur of old Shanghai can still be vividly imagined through the Peace Hotel. Many hotels ask if you'd like your luggage sent to your room, but the Peace Hotel doesn't. From the moment you arrive at the entrance and say ”checking in,” your bags are taken care of all the way to the walk-in closet in your room. If you get lost inside (like I did), don't worry about not finding help; staff members are everywhere, proactively approaching you to ask if you need anything. Our twin room wasn't huge but was cozy and comfortable. The S-shaped layout ensured the room was very quiet. In fact, the entire guest floor was quiet and elegant, with a lovely sweet cinnamon scent. **Amenities**: Great water pressure, pleasant-smelling toiletries, delicious breakfast, large bathtub. The pool is a bit small but rarely crowded, and the gym is also empty, with equipment offering views of Nanjing Road. Parking is available but very limited, and the access road is always full of tourists taking wedding or portrait photos, making driving difficult. Plus, it was super convenient to access Xintiandi directly from the hotel's entrance/exit. The breakfast spread was incredibly generous, and the local snacks tasted great. The free happy hour for guests on the first floor (6:00 PM - 7:30 PM) was fantastic, with a wide selection and excellent service 👍 I'll definitely be back for another stay! 😍

1. I'd like to commend Lorna from Guest Relations for her exceptional patience and assistance throughout my stay, especially in resolving complex issues during the incredibly busy New Year's Day rush. 2. The service quality, as expected from the Hyatt brand, was top-notch. Everyone was enthusiastic and welcoming to every guest. Even with a crowded club lounge, the staff maintained their high standard of attentive service for Hyatt members. Excellent! 3. The welcome fruit and breakfast were fantastic. Any concerns I had were promptly communicated to Lorna. Despite minor issues, the overall experience was outstanding, and I wish them continued success. 4. The breathtaking Bund view is simply impeccable. I've attached photos in the comments section – other travelers absolutely shouldn't miss this stunning sight.

Loved the service here and attention to detail. Staff were all so friendly and made us so welcome. Really outstanding! From the time we stepped out the car, all the staff made us feel so welcome. The concierge even helped me to book a late night snack on ******* then paid for it on his app when mine wouldn’t work. Really superb service! Location was great too. Short walk of maybe 8 minutes to the Dapuqiao (Line 9) station inside the Sun Moon shopping centre with lots of eateries. Very near to Tianzifang which is 15 minutes walk. Great specialty coffee cafe called Danro Coffee within 10 minutes walk. And within 5km to many major sights in Shanghai within the Huangpu area.

The service in all aspects was excellent, especially during check-in and the follow-up phone call after checking in, which made us feel incredibly welcomed (sometimes details determine success or failure). They meticulously asked whether we preferred Chinese or Western style, which was perfect. The hotel is located in the Shanghai Tower, a landmark building and the tallest in Shanghai. It felt like being in the clouds, and watching the sunrise and sunset was a truly special experience. The service was high-end (thanks to the attentive staff); there were always people greeting or assisting us in various areas of the hotel, which made for a very pleasant experience. Breakfast was relatively rich and varied.

Everything was perfect, from the front desk staff, garage and ground parking attendants, those issuing parking vouchers and inputting license plates, to the housekeeping on each floor, and the restaurant and executive lounge service teams—everyone was friendly, polite, and patient. During the day, doormen in European-style uniforms assisted with car drop-offs and luggage handling. The dining options were plentiful and of high quality. Both the hotel's interior and exterior, as well as the room condition, exceeded expectations. The suite was furnished to feel like a home, complete with various furniture and amenities. The executive lounge environment was also very elegant and comfortable, and the hotel is close to the ferry and cruise terminals. As a Bund hotel, it offers excellent value for money overall and is a perfect place to enjoy beautiful scenery, delicious food, and unwind.

The North Bund Area Shanghai|3km from downtown
This was my first stay at the W Hotel, and in my opinion, the night view from W Shanghai – The Bund is unparalleled – truly the best you can get for a view of the Bund, bar none. The rooms here boast a unique, massive curved floor-to-ceiling window. The trendy, nightclub-like vibe is also signature to the W, making it feel much younger and more vibrant compared to other hotels, definitely appealing more to a younger crowd. The hotel features three distinct bars, and I highly recommend the breakfast – it's genuinely excellent, with a wide variety of cuisines available. I booked a Wonderful King Room, and rooms ending in '10' generally offer the most prime views. Plus, I received a 500 RMB voucher for the YEN Chinese Restaurant and another 500 RMB voucher for the spa. They even offered a late checkout until 2 PM, which made it an incredibly good deal. The W Hotel has certainly won over many young people with its prime scenic views and fashionable decor!

We had a pleasant stay at Moyu Movie Hotel and truly enjoyed our experience. The staff were really helpful and attentive, especially when it came to helping us order Halal food using the ******* app. All we needed to do was transfer the payment via Alipay, and they kindly helped arrange the rest for us. Our food was even delivered by a delivery robot, which was a fun and convenient experience. On one occasion, we were unable to transfer payment via Alipay, and the staff were so kind and understanding to accept cash payment instead, which we truly appreciated. We also got free drinks from them. The hotel also provides free laundry washer and dryer, making it very convenient for longer stays. They accept packages on behalf of guests, and the parcel handling was very well organized, with items sorted by phone number, making collection easy and hassle-free. The location is another big plus. The hotel is within walking distance (around 5 minutes) to Middle Huaihai Road Metro Station (Line 13), which made it very convenient for wandering around and exploring Shanghai. Overall, it was a comfortable and hassle-free stay, and we would definitely consider staying here again.
