Travelling to Vietnam soon? One important step before entering the country is completing the Vietnam arrival card.

Depending on your nationality, visa type, and airport procedures, you may be required to provide immigration information either on paper or through digital systems.

What is the Vietnam Arrival Card?

The Vietnam arrival card is an immigration form used by Vietnamese authorities to collect traveler information upon arrival.

The form typically includes:

Category

Details Required

Personal information

Full name, nationality, gender, date of birth

Passport details

Passport number, issuing country, expiry date

Flight information

Flight number, arrival airport, departure city

Purpose of visit

Tourism, business, transit, work, or visiting family

Accommodation details in Vietnam

Hotel name, address, or local residence information

Travelers may receive the card on the flight, at immigration counters, or complete it digitally depending on the airport and travel requirements.

Vietnam Arrival Card Online (Latest Update)

Vietnam Pre-Arrival Card

Vietnam is gradually modernizing its immigration procedures, and some travelers may complete the Vietnam arrival card online before arrival. Starting April 15, 2026, Vietnam's Immigration Department introduced a mandatory free online pre-arrival declaration for international travelers arriving at Tan Son Nhat International Airport (SGN) in Ho Chi Minh City. This is part of a phased digitalization of Vietnam's border system.

Who Needs It

Nearly all foreign nationals, including visa-free visitors, e-Visa holders, and overseas Vietnamese entering on a visa

Who Is Exempt from the Vietnam Pre-Arrival Card?

  • Vietnamese citizens traveling on a Vietnamese passport
  • Same-day airside transit passengers who do not clear immigration
  • (Potentially) travelers under 18 may have parents/guardians complete it for them
  • Important: This is not a visa. If your nationality requires a visa, e-Visa, or VOA approval letter, you must still obtain that separately. The digital arrival card is purely an entry declaration.

The online process helps:

  • Reduce paperwork at the airport
  • Speed up immigration clearance
  • Improve arrival processing efficiency
  • Simplify travel documentation

💡Tips: Travelers should always check the latest immigration updates before departure, as requirements may vary.

😉Pro Tip: When planning your visit, consider booking your flights to Vietnam and hotels in Vietnam early to snag the best deals.

Do Singaporeans Need a Vietnam Arrival Card?

If your destination is Tan Son Nhat International Airport, Vietnam has introduced a mandatory digital entry form, so Singaporeans will need to fill out this pre-arrival card.

If you’re travelling to Vietnam and land at other airports, you won’t need to fill out any arrival card at all. Singapore passport holders get 30 days of visa-free entry, so immigration is usually as simple as showing your passport and return ticket at the counter.
