Hotels near Dongdaemun Station, Seoul

This place has an unbeatable location, right near Dongdaemun Subway Station, making it super convenient to get around. You can even walk to Gwangjang Market. To get to the hostel, it's about a 3-minute walk from Dongdaemun Station Exit 7 (Line 4) or Exit 6 (Line 1). The main door on the ground floor is easy to open. You check in on the 2nd floor after going up the stairs. Our room was on the top floor, requiring another flight of stairs, but since my family and I had light luggage, it wasn't an issue and we didn't need any help. The hostel offers drinking water, a coffee machine, and a ramen dispenser. We were always too full to try them, but it shows how thoughtful the staff are. The ramen comes in three clearly labeled spice levels: non-spicy, mild, and medium spicy. Inside the room, the beds were comfortable, and toiletries were provided. However, the bathroom is quite small, with only a tiny area in front of the sink for showering. If you mind wet floors, you might want to bring your own slippers. P.S. There are no USB outlets in the room, but they do provide an adapter with three different charging cable types. I'd recommend bringing your own adapter so you and your travel companions can charge separately more conveniently. Overall, we had a good stay, and it offers great value for money. We'd definitely choose this place again if we have the chance. A big thank you to all the staff!

The subway line is right outside, and there's a convenience store nearby, making it a great location if you want to stay close to Dongdaemun. They offer a simple breakfast that tastes good, and while the room isn't huge, it's acceptably clean. I first went to their Branch 1, where the staff were incredibly friendly. However, the front desk here was quite cold. I also specifically requested not to have an end-of-corridor room, but that's exactly what I got.

First off, the location is absolutely fantastic. There's an outlet mall right downstairs, and the hotel is super close to the subway exit. Plus, a new APM mall just opened nearby and stays open late, which makes shopping incredibly convenient. One evening, I couldn't get a ride-hailing service to pinpoint my location correctly, and the front desk luggage staff were incredibly patient and thorough in helping me contact a taxi. A huge thank you to those two gentlemen for their help, even though I don't know their names. It's easy to get anywhere from here, and there are plenty of dining options too. All in all, it was excellent!

The hotel was close to the station. The room was spacious enough to open two suitcases at once. Although there was a window, you couldn't tell what the weather was like outside without opening it, which might make it feel a bit cramped, but I found it comfortable, not too big and not too small. There were two beds, about a semi-double and a double size, and the firmness made them easy to sleep on. The shower pressure was excellent! You could make it super strong or just a trickle, it was adjustable. The hair dryer also had strong airflow and could be adjusted to a weaker setting, which was great. There were three power outlets in the room, which was very convenient. I stayed for two nights, and it seemed someone re-entered my room after cleaning was supposedly finished, as the duck curtain was changed during that time. It's probably best to take valuables with you when leaving the room, even after cleaning. It's a hotel I'd definitely like to stay at again!

I really enjoyed it here. It's very clean, comfortable, and strategically located. There are lots of places to eat around the hotel, and across from the hotel is market and Street Food. Only 3 minus walk to/from subway station. I would stay here again. Thank you for the hospitality

The hostel itself is charming and very clean. However, it's quite far from the main tourist area, and in my opinion, the price is similar to what you'd pay for hostels right in the city center. There's no staff, only cleaners in the morning, meaning there's no one available to ask questions. While a self check-in machine is convenient for late arrivals, during the day it feels very impersonal. There's NO ELEVATOR, and you have to climb 4 flights of stairs just to reach reception. This is terrible, as hauling heavy luggage up becomes an absolute nightmare. They really should change this or at least inform guests beforehand, as it's a major problem. Furthermore, while the cleaning staff are very friendly, they don't speak any English, which makes communication quite difficult. The common kitchen/dining area is extremely small given the number of guests. Moreover, they have a 'fridge' which is more like a cold compartment, and it didn't smell very good. They don't provide free drinking water, nor is there a common water dispenser for guests. A sign indicates that you have to purchase water from their vending machines. Furthermore, they lack proper cutlery and glasses, only providing mugs. The bathrooms are clean and well-maintained, BUT there are only 3 showers for approximately 25 beds, and just 2 toilets – far too few. They have a very nice common area upstairs, but I think it could use a thorough check, as I saw app reviews mentioning guests getting insect bites. The sleeping pod itself is functional and reasonably spacious. However, the mattress is uncomfortable, and what bothered me the most was that the room lights were left on all night – which I found unacceptable! This was not only a waste of energy but also because the light filtered completely through the small, light-colored blind used to close off the pod. They should either turn off the main lights or install darker blinds, as it's incredibly difficult to get proper rest otherwise, and you end up waking with a headache. Finally, on a positive note, the breakfast was decent, and they even provide a toothbrush and toothpaste, which was a pleasant surprise. Something else to consider is that there's absolutely no one at the hostel to interact with or assist you, which I found quite inconvenient.

The location of the hotel is great. Nearest train station exit is either 6 (with elevator) or 7. The room is clean and spacious, enough to put our 3 luggages and still have walking space. However the room amenities are rather basic. There’re a lot of eating places nearby and near to a number of shopping malls. What I didn’t like is the shower facilities. You have to shower in the bathtub but there’s no shower curtain and only about one-third of the bathtub (near where the shower head is) has a glass panel to prevent water from splashing. By the time you finished shower, the floor and the toilet bowl situated next to the bath tub will be really wet. They didn’t provide floor mat to dry your feet. If you ae looking for a hotel near to the subway, this is a great choice. However if you want one with more amenities, then I won’t suggest it.

We were able to store our luggage there prior to our stay as we wanted to go for Busan for a few days. We brought the luggage early in the morning around 6. Even though the hotel reception is closed at that time, the receptionist woke up for us to get our luggages. He had his night shift and was sleeping. Many thanks for him. Overall really nice and helpful employees. Breakfast is really simple, but for to go it’s good to have a bit. Room is really small but fictional. Not recommended if you have a lot of big luggages and like to spread them all over the room. But if you have light luggage it’s not a problem at all Room was small but clean. Nearby cafes are really nice. If you want to go shopping and party in hongdae then it’s good place to stay. Also not far to myeongdong - like 20 min I think. But far for Gangnam.

We had a great stay at D-Haus Hostel Dongdaemun! We booked 2 rooms for 4 persons, and everything was well-prepared for our arrival. The location is very convenient - just a short walk from the subway (Line 5, Exit 6), making it easy to get around Seoul. The rooms, beddings, and toilets were all very clean, which made our stay comfortable and relaxing. We also loved the cafeteria area - having free coffee, ramen, and tea available anytime was such a nice touch, especially after a long day of exploring. Another plus is the DIY laundry service, which is very helpful for travelers staying longer. They also offer free luggage storage if you arrive early, which was very convenient for us. There’s also a rooftop area where you can hang out and relax, which we really enjoyed. What truly made the experience memorable was the staff. Ben and Jess were very accommodating, friendly, and always checked if everything was okay. Their warm hospitality made us feel welcome throughout our stay. The hostel truly made our last days in South Korea relaxing and stress-free — exactly what we needed before heading home. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a clean, convenient, and comfortable place to stay in Seoul! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The accommodation looks exactly like the photos and is super clean! I really loved the view of Namsan Tower from the room, so romantic! The kitchen is well-equipped for a simple breakfast with toast, jam, milk, and orange juice. There's even a water dispenser, so I didn't have to drink the water I'd bought beforehand. The hairdryer has a strong airflow, and the bathroom is spotless! I had mistakenly thought there would be a TV, but there wasn't, so I couldn't watch videos at the accommodation and ended up watching them on my phone with my friend. Aside from that, the electric blanket was wonderfully warm, ensuring a cozy night's sleep. Free laundry and drying facilities are also available. There were a lot of international guests, which made it feel like I was abroad even though I was in Korea. One thing to note: there are many stairs from the entrance, so my friend and I struggled quite a bit with our heavy luggage when checking in. I'd only recommend it for those with light luggage. Lastly, the Bluetooth speaker in the living room was on all night, and the sound was quite disruptive. It's not that there's no soundproofing, but because it was so quiet in the early morning, the sound seemed even louder. My friends also asked what the noise was, and after investigating, we realized it was the speaker, so we turned it off and finally got some sleep.
