✈️  Step-by-Step Guide: Departing from T1 on Scoot

check in counter of changi airport

Departing on Scoot from Changi Terminal 1 is straightforward if you follow a simple flow: arrive early, check in at Rows 5–7, clear immigration and security, then head to your gate.

Step 1. Arrive at Changi T1

  • Aim to reach T1 at least 2–3 hours before departure, especially for peak-hour Scoot flights.

Step 2. Find Scoot Check-In (Rows 5–7)

  • All Scoot flights operate from Terminal 1, with check-in counters and self-service kiosks at Rows 5–7 in the departure hall.
  • Scoot counters generally open 2.5-3 hours before departure and close 60 minutes before departure.

Step 3. Check In & Drop Bags

  • Normal Check-in (3 hours before for Boeing 787 flights; 2.5 hours before for Airbus A320/A321 flights): Proceed to check-in counters at Rows 5–7. If you’ve done online check-in, head straight to the self-service bag-drop behind the kiosks to tag and drop your baggage.
  • Early Check-in (from 3 to 12 hours before your Scoot flight departure time): You will need to go to the Early Check-in Lounge at Jewel (not Terminal 1!). The Early Check-in Lounge is located at Level 1 of Jewel, opening daily from 8AM to 11:59PM.

Step 4. Clear Immigration

  • Once you have your boarding pass, proceed to Departure Immigration; Singapore residents and many visitors can use the automated e-gates with face scanning or a biometric passport.
  • FYI: There is no centralised security screening done after immigration for Changi Terminal 1 - the security screening will be done at the gate before you board the plane.

Step 5. Go to Your Gate, Security & Board

  • You will go through the security check at the gate during boarding.
  • Boarding usually starts 40–60 minutes before departure; Scoot closes boarding early, so be at the gate by the time printed on your pass.
  • Listen for priority groups like BoardMeFirst and families with young children, then general boarding by rows.
