its a roundabout for the rooms so if u stay far from the lift can be quite a walk. there's supposedly an upgrade renovation done but i don't see any improvement as the bathroom didn't have a bidet and i had a room with a rusty crack in the bathtub base and they changed to a smaller room for me near the lift..the room didn't have custom madr curtains done proper and i really prefer it yo be entirely blackout curtains. as u can see in my pics there's light penetrating through. the new room had chip off in the basin and cigarette stains, i felt its unhygienic. . they promote drinking from tap water but as a local i still boil my water regardless. its good for people who loves nature and sea view and going to pulau ubin to explore. but bar and restaurant closes early in the hotel which is a disappointment.

Stayed for one night during the Spring Festival. When I first entered the room, I didn't notice it because the fan was on, but after turning it off, the entire night was filled with an unpleasant musty smell, which seriously affected my rest. Luckily, it was just a one-night stopover near the airport before heading to Sentosa the next morning. If it had been a longer stay, it would have been absolutely unbearable. Also, the hotel room facilities are too old; the refrigerator was rusty.

Extremely close to the airport, and super convenient to get to by subway. The hotel bedding is comfortable, and the room size is decent. There's a large supermarket nearby where you can buy ready-to-eat food and prepare it directly in the room's kitchen, which has cutlery and an induction hob – so convenient! The mall next door has McDonald's and various Chinese restaurants, as well as coffee shops, making dining very easy. Trip.com's customer service was incredibly reliable; they even helped me find my child's forgotten toy at the hotel. Highly recommend!

The location is very close to the Metro, which is very important if you're travelling to Singapore. It is just a few stops from/to the airport, as well as to the main tourist attractions. There are many small restaurants along the street, if you're on budget. Personally, I buy fresh fruits in the morning across the street on my way out to tour the city. The price is unbeatable. The hotel is just a 3-star type of hotel, but clean, safe and quiet. The amenities are indeed very basic, but because I leave early and return late in the evening, this is not a concern to me. There is a curfew, or quiet times, I believe from 9pm to 7am, but reception is open 24/7. The staff are polite and accommodating. They let me borrow a phone charger when mine broke.

Sadly did not enjoy my stay here and was unable to sleep much despite my flight arriving at 1am. Room was constantly bright through a frosted window into a different room that shined through the bathroom and I couldn’t cover. Walls are very thin so you hear everything: people talking in the hallway, people talking in their rooms, people opening their bathroom door, etc If you don’t mind all of this then it’s an ok deal. But pack earplugs and an eye-mask.

By Singapore standards the room is affordable. It is rather small but that is what we get for this price range in Singapore. It is clean and tidy which really good. A bigger desk to work will be good but it is what it is. Overall I think it is a good deal considering the cost of accommodations in Singapore.

EEmily1020The hotel's location next to a mall is quite good. However, the service was a major letdown. When we entered our room, we realized it didn't match the photos on Trip.com, and it was actually one half of a connecting room. So, we went downstairs to the front desk. The Singaporean lady who checked us in initially was polite, but then a Filipino individual, who seemed to be a supervisor, became very arrogant. They first claimed that room type was sold out, then said we had checked in after 7 PM – which was ridiculous. In the end, they gave us another room, but it still wasn't what we booked. Since we had a child with us, we decided to just make do. Upon entering that room, we discovered the showerhead wasn't properly installed, so we had to call maintenance to fix it. There was no turndown service at night, and despite the menu listing various pillow options, none were available when we asked. We eventually had to complain to Trip.com, and thankfully their customer service was very responsive. I honestly wouldn't recommend this hotel for a family vacation; you'd be better off choosing another place.

GGuest UserI had a staycation at the Swissotel on a weekday night. Since it was quite late, check-in was smooth and fast. I was given a city view premier (Standard) room on the 24th floor. The room was of an odd shape with a long corridor which reduced noise levels. Since the hotel is almost 40 years old now, the rooms are quite spacious, and I enjoyed sitting and relaxing on the large couch and had a great sleep on the wide king bed. However, I did notice some very short strands of hair on the pillow even before I laid down, which makes me wonder if the pillowcase had been washed in between guests. During the daytime, the warm sunlight lit up the surrounding colonial buildings well (CHIJMES, Raffles Hotel etc) and it made for great pictures that I managed to shoot from the balcony of the room. Having stayed at the sister property-- Fairmont Hotel before, I was a little disappointed that the toiletries were of a seemingly ordinary brand, as opposed to LeLabo used at Fairmont which is usually similarly priced but more luxurious. I feel that the minibar area can be upgraded, since currently it looks dark and rather out of place as compared to the rest of the well decorated room. Nespresso and TWG Tea were available, while oddly enough the minibar was empty. At the Fairmont for comparison, there is an overengineered but fully stocked minibar with sensors that will detect the drink leaving the fridge and exorbitant charges will be applied. The room also felt slightly older - Some nicks on the wall, frames etc, as I learned that Swissotel was last renovated in 2019 while Fairmont was renovated slightly later. The USB-A ports also gave away the room's age. There seemed to be rather few charging plugs available for such a large room. Location of the hotel is superb, with convenient transport downstairs via the MRT and it is easy to get a Grabcar. It is also connected to the shopper's paradise, Raffles City Shopping Mall. Singapore faces an acute manpower shortage in the hotel and hospitality industry, but I never once felt service was an issue here. The reception and concierge were amply staffed, staff were friendly and could be seen proactively helping guests with their luggage. I also did not have to wait to check in/out. There is a large gym on the property, raved about by other reviews, but I did not visit it since it is on the Fairmont side of the hotel [quite a walk away] and I got lost trying to find it. Lastly, I could not resist visiting the Skai Restaurant which Swissotel is most known for since it is among the tallest restaurants in Singapore -- taller than Marina Bay Sands. It is located on the 70th floor of the hotel and I had a 3-course lunch there. Service was great as to be expected, but prices are steep - if you don't have the 30% Accor Plus discount. While the food was alright, the view was simply superb since it is unblocked on all sides. I would recommend visiting just for the view, but I heard that there could be a minimum order of 1 main course needed to enter. Overall, nitpicking aside, the Swissotel is one of the better 5 star hotels in Singapore and a great choice for business travellers. Asides from the not so clean pillow I could not find any other major faults. However, since Fairmont and Swissotel are both usually similarly priced at $400+, and having stayed at both before, I would recommend the Fairmont over the Swissotel since it offers a slightly more luxurious experience for not that much more.

WwilliamguanThe location is superb, right in the heart of Orchard Road, opposite Ngee Ann City, making it incredibly convenient for shopping on both sides. It's also very close to the MRT station. To get to the hotel rooms, you first need to go to the 4th floor and then take another elevator. This trip, I stayed in a standard twin room. I didn't get a room with an Orchard Road view, but the room itself was quite spacious – more than enough room to fully open two large suitcases. The bathroom didn't have a bathtub, but the space was decent. However, the shower area has no door, so it felt like if you showered for too long, water would easily spill into other parts of the bathroom.

AAnonymous UserA lovely place for a short stay, although the room is quite small but it is big enough for one person. However, there wasn’t much space to open a big suitcase. Bed and pillows are comfortable. The body wash and shampoo that they provided smells so nice, it’s from the brand Rituals. Location is very strategic, Maxwell MRT and Outram Park MRT are close by. Plenty of places to eat from including Maxwell Food Centre and coffee shops that opened as early as 8am. There’s a 7-Eleven nearby as well. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again next time but probably booking a slightly bigger room if I am bringing a big suitcase.

YYvaineYuanThis hotel is really great! The location is super convenient; you can take bus 133 right downstairs directly to the Marina Bay Sands in the city center. AAnonymous UserStaying in Singapore has certainly been an experience, and overall, it was quite… unique 😅 First, the pros: 1. **Convenient Location**: It's about 900 meters from Harbourfront Vivocity, roughly a 10-minute walk. 2. **Affordable Price**: At 625 RMB per night (weekend rate, slightly higher than weekdays) including tax, this is considered quite cheap in Singapore, where prices are sky-high 😅. 3. **Cleanliness**: The room was very clean and well-maintained, as expected from a chain brand. Now for the cons: First, the room is tiny, definitely less than 13 square meters. The actual usable space, including the bathroom, is only about six or seven square meters. Second, I honestly didn't understand what ”1 double bed measuring 1.31 meters” meant at first. After checking in, I realized that 1.31 meters was the total width of *two* beds! Divided by two, each bed was only 0.65 meters wide 😅. Honestly, this is the narrowest bed I've ever slept in 😅. I didn't think much of it and just lay down, but in the middle of the night, I almost fell off the bed when I turned over. I had to get up and push the two beds together to be able to continue sleeping, albeit uncomfortably, due to the large, sunken gap in the middle. Also, I don't know who keeps them, but there are several chickens in the green belt outside, and they started crowing incessantly before 7 AM. It feels a bit out of place for a business hotel to have chickens outside, not quite fitting with Singapore's sophisticated, elite image, haha 😅. Another experience related to ”cultural differences”: The hotel doesn't provide bottled water. There's a ”drinking water” sign on the bathroom faucet, but I didn't dare drink it, haha 😅. Luckily, I brought two bottles of water myself (500ml + 600ml), which I managed to make do with for a day and a half. Plus, there was a 600ml bottle of mineral water on the Aeroline bus on the way back the next evening. This saved me money on buying water in Singapore (not including a coconut shake and a durian cendol I bought the next day). Singapore is really hot and humid. The sun is scorching during the day, and walking outside feels like being roasted alive 😅. Restaurants and food courts don't provide free hot or cold water. Water might indeed be a scarce resource here, which I can rationally understand 😅.
