Mercure Singapore on Stevens

It's quite far from the subway. You can take a bus there. Breakfast was average. The room was relatively small. The price reflects that, so don't expect too much! It's comparable to hotels costing 100-200 RMB in China.

An utterly frustrating check-in experience. When I arrived, the first front desk staff member, without even checking my passport, reservation, or room details, confidently stated there were no rooms available. So I waited in the lobby for a while. That's when something strange happened: despite being told it was fully booked, white guests around me one by one successfully checked in and received their room cards. Only I and an Asian couple ahead of me were told there were no room cards. This was incredibly puzzling and infuriating 😡🤬. I then switched to another front desk agent who was very helpful and said he would do his best to assist me. Luckily, he managed to find an empty room for me to check into 🤔. So why did the first front desk agent lie to me about having no rooms and refuse me check-in, yet accommodate all the white guests? 😅😅 Are Asians so two-faced, even amongst themselves? I definitely do not recommend this hotel for Asians, especially those with Chinese faces. All in all, a terrible experience.

I booked a twin room but there was only one bed in it. They quickly brought in an extra bed, it took less than half an hour. The hotel's hygiene is excellent, very clean.

The hotel was alright, very quiet and centrally located. However, the room was a bit small, and breakfast required queuing, which was quite inconvenient. One morning, I had to wait for ages to get in for breakfast. I've never seen a hotel where you have to queue for breakfast before.
