GGuest UserFacilities: The hotel's facilities exude a sense of luxury and elegance everywhere. However, they're also a bit impractical. For example, the sink is too wide; an Asian woman might have to stand on her tiptoes to wash her face, and her stomach would be pressed against the cold basin.
Cleanliness: It was generally clean, but there was mold around the shower gel and shampoo dispenser.
Ambiance: No issues at all, a century-old hotel with a central sea view.
Service: Everyone was quite enthusiastic, but I still wonder if tipping is expected/necessary?

GGuest UserThe hotel staff were all very polite, the bed was comfortable, and the shower had great water pressure. They even noted my request and gave me a quiet room with no noise. The breakfast was decent, and the coffee was strong and really woke me up.
There's a mall right to the left when you exit, and a supermarket downstairs. Across the street, there's a 7-Eleven, and GAMA also has a supermarket downstairs. It's a moderate distance to tourist attractions, about a 20-minute walk, and about a 30-minute drive to the airport if there's no traffic. Little India is nearby, so there are quite a few Indian people around. I'm not used to it since I don't know much about the culture, but we mostly kept to ourselves. However, after each room cleaning, we'd find a few long hairs that weren't ours, which I hope they can improve upon.

GGuest UserThe hotel's facilities are a bit dated. The cabinets, doors, and bathroom counter in the room all show their age, and there's no magnifying mirror at the vanity. This likely relates to when it was last renovated; it's not very stylish, but it is clean, which is good.
The service, however, is excellent, meeting five-star hotel standards without a doubt. They provide disposables, complimentary bottled water, welcome fruits, a breakfast buffet, and executive lounge access (depending on room type). The restaurant's decor has also been updated.
I had a great experience with one particular staff member. I had booked an executive room, and upon check-in, the front desk assigned me a connecting room without informing me. The soundproofing was terrible; I could clearly hear people showering and talking in the next room, which severely disrupted my sleep. After I explained the situation to the front desk, they worked hard to switch me to another room of the same type, which was much better and very comfortable. I'd like to especially commend Hanz at the front desk for their prompt action in changing my room, which allowed me to get a good night's sleep.
Regarding the location, just across the road is Shangri-La's Jen hotel. Its decor and facilities visibly appear newer and better. However, it's much lower in height and doesn't offer the good views this hotel does. If you're looking for a sea view room, this hotel is worth it. If views aren't a priority, you might want to compare the two.
This hotel is about 1km from many attractions in the old town, including Jay Chou's favorite restaurant, the street art murals, Kimberley Street Food Night Market, and Chew Jetty. These are all pleasant to explore in the evening. It's too hot at midday, so I'd recommend taking a taxi or staying at the hotel.

JJoetan39There is no sufficient space for guests drop off and pick up and for if there are two to three cars the area before hotel will be messed up and stuck together! The enclosed captured screen from goggle map is self explanatory !
Every morning commencing 8:00 am to 09:00am there will be large trolleys outside the rooms and on upper floors transferring towels and other amenities around and the sound like you are sitting by the railway while the trains are crossing which was rather annoying. You will hear staff talking or chatting together and the metallic service door slamming during that period.
Most interesting is every day the housekeeping has left souvenirs to us. The first day was a toilet brush and the second day was a cigarette lighter.
Last but not the least when we approached the concierge to get the luggages while the car was waiting just outside the hotel main door the bell boy asked my wife to move the luggages by herself and the distance was only 3 meters away!

GGuest UserThe room was clean, quiet, and spacious, with a water dispenser available in the hallway. The service was excellent, and we even received a welcome drink. However, the projector quality wasn't great; it remained blurry even after adjustment. Despite that, the room itself was very nice and large, with a great view. Even in a double room, the sofa was big enough for an extra person to sleep on. Overall, it was a comfortable stay, and I'd definitely consider coming back.

KKoh Eng SeeRoslie is the best hotel manager we’ve ever encountered. Knowing that we were here to celebrate my husband’s birthday, he not only allowed us an early check-in and late check-out, but also surprised us by decorating our room on the actual day.
We were touched that he remembered us and even wished my husband a happy birthday when we met him at the lift. His warmth and personal touch truly melted our hearts. We would like to thank Roslie and his team for their excellent service and hospitality.
OZO is also well located, with many eateries within walking distance. The room was clean, and the infinity pool was a lifesaver in the hot weather.

MMEGAT AMINUDDINi had a wonderful stay at Bishop Hotel in Georgetown, Penang. the location is absolutely perfect — right in the heart of the UNESCO heritage area, within walking distance to popular attractions, street art, cafes, and amazing local food spots. it made exploring Georgetown so convenient and enjoyable.
the room was cozy, clean, and very comfortable. perfect for relaxing after a full day of sightseeing. everything was well-maintained, and the bed was especially comfortable for a good night’s rest.
overall, Bishop Hotel is a great choice for anyone looking for a centrally located stay with cozy, comfortable rooms in Georgetown. iwould definitely stay here again!

EewanwanThis is my second time staying at this hotel, and it continues to deliver a consistently comfortable experience.
The room is clean, well-maintained, and designed in a simple, functional style that feels similar to an ibis concept practical and easy to settle into.
The highlight is definitely the bed. It’s soft and very comfortable, and even the single beds are generously sized. The bedsheets feel like cotton, and the hotel provides two types of pillows ,one soft and one medium-firm ,which makes it easy to get good sleep.
The bathroom is clean with proper dry and wet separation, and having a fridge in the room is a nice added convenience.
Location is another strong point. Within just a 1-minute walk, there are plenty of food options, from open-air local stalls to air-conditioned restaurants. Despite that, the area remains quiet at night, which I really appreciate.
The fact that I chose to come back says a lot. Overall, great value for money and I would definitely stay here again
第二次入住，房间肯定是干净整洁，最舒服是他家的床柔软，也是入住原因之一，单人床也是大号的，床单很舒服，应该是全棉的，枕头也有提供1个软的1个适中没那么软的。厕所干湿分离。还提供冰箱。整体设计感很接近ibis。 地点也不差，走1min有到地美食大排档，开放式的，冷气房的都有。晚上不会吵。

GGuest UserI was upgraded to a Deluxe room but it was at the extreme corner next to the service staircase. Grateful for the upgraded but the room conditions were not up to par . Hair in shower room , the shower holder fell when I was taking it out and it dropped on my toe . Hence the blue black toe shown ( hehe ) . I could not sleep the whole night as the air con was very very noisy even when I lower the adjustment. The day curtain was torn . I sound it out to reception the next morning to see whether they can change my room as I was staying for another 2 nights . They did and I reckoned it was another up grade as now the room has a standing shower room . In the other previous room , you have to stand in the bath tub to shower and for a man of 65 , it is a bit tricky . The hotel really needs an up grade too . It is in a good location and CAT bus is nearby . The CAT shuttle is a complimentary bus that moves around the town area .
The saving grace for my trip was that the staff was up to par and reacted quickly . Well done on this .
Now , I wait for my toe to heal .
