It was fine for a short stay. The staff were nice and attentive. However, the toilet had a slight smell, and the water didn’t drain well. It might be expected, given the age of the building…

We had two nights at this property. Hotel has free parking. Hotel is nice and staffs are very friendly. Room 1514 seaview was spacious and clean and located 30minutes walk to Gurvey hawker centre. The nearest supermarket is in Gurney Paragon and Gurvey Plaza about 20mins walk. There is Gurney Walk next to this hotel but no supermarket to buy fruits.
It was alright for us as we drove around and the view was my main attraction.

Located at gurney area, very strategic. Carpark is free👍🏼 However, Service needs improvement esp. check in process. Room comes with weighing scale 😍

Our 2 families stayed there from 16th to 19th May 2025 and we are extremely happy with the service, cleanliness, staff attitude, food and efficiency.
We will definitely come back to Penang and Gurney Bay Hotel.
Suggestion: 2 types of the soft and hard pillows should be on the beds for customers to choose rather than have 1 type of 2 placed there.

The state of cleanliness was downright alarming.
The facilities were left to crumble, as though forgotten by time itself.
Repeated calls to the front desk met with nothing but eerie silence！
The hotel boasted a prime location, yet its management of guest services was nothing short of shambolic.

Strategically located. Near to F&B outlets and also to tourist attractions e. g Burmese Buddhist temple, Gurney Drive, Gurney Bay Park etc. Walking distance to 2 shopping centre. Helpful staff and good services. Ample parking spaces.
