Value for money hotel. Near Gurney Plaza and Gurney Paragon. Nice colonial times decor centering on maritime themes. One of the rare hotels with tennis courts and jacuzzis of different genders.

I had a pleasant stay at Gurney Bay Hotel Penang. The location is excellent, close to Gurney Drive, shopping malls, and plenty of food options. The room was spacious and clean, though slightly dated. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout the stay. Overall, it's good value for money and a comfortable place to stay in Penang.

Just request for small decoration for our honeymoon (like a couple duck with towel) but i got just a standard room with connecting room. HAHAHAHAHAHA what for honey moon ? And aircond a little bit slow , water blocked in bathroom (old school hotel concept)

1: Opened in 2024, but it's not a newly renovated hotel. The facilities are very old, don't be fooled by the opening date. 2: They claim to be a 5-star hotel, but it's definitely not. As soon as you enter, there's an unpleasant, indescribable smell, and it's the same in the room. 3: No bathrobes were provided, and the toiletries were tiny and of poor quality. 4: The bathtub wasn't cleaned properly either. 5: I asked for an extra blanket, and they brought me a torn, old one.

Nice hotel and friendly staff, location is fantastic for traveler as is close to gurney drive food court and Gurney plaza shopping centre . Nice park for walk during morning or evening.

This hotel is right next to a seaside plaza, which is lovely for an evening stroll. Many locals also hang out there. It's about 1-2 kilometers from central attractions like the Blue Mansion and Mural Street. Walking there can be quite hot, and a taxi costs around 8-15 MYR. The hotel has a pool, gym, and kids' play area. Although it has a more retro, Nanyang-style vibe, it offers all the necessary amenities. The downsides are: first, the Wi-Fi is very unreliable; second, the breakfast isn't great (doesn't match the price); and third, the duvet covers were already yellowed. We, two adults and two children, had no problem staying in this room. Overall, it's still good value for money.

Love this hotel ! We arrived early on our check in day and was able to check in directly. Thanks to the lady at the counter didn't managed to get her name. Hotel room was big and bed was comfortable. Housekeeping was prompt and good. For the breakfast, choices is good, we enjoyed it. Will book this hotel again when I am back here.
