The air conditioning sounds like a tractor. The Gateway Hotel Marco Polo I booked before was a bit newer than this one. This hotel is relatively older. Out of the three Marco Polo hotels, this one is the closest for getting to Harbour City. It's the most convenient for Harbour City, and also the closest to Victoria Harbour. The bathroom is quite small here. Older buildings also tend to have more of a smell. I checked, and the original Marco Polo Hongkong Hotel was built and opened in 1969, with its last major renovation in 2011. This really is the oldest one. Honestly, this stay was a huge disappointment. I booked a high-end sea-view room at a steep price, but the service felt very perfunctory (was it because I'm a mainland Chinese tourist?). In hindsight, I shouldn't have passed on the Sheraton just because the room was too small, or the Grand Hyatt because of its less-than-ideal location. Even paying double the price for the Peninsula would have been a much happier experience.
As someone who travels frequently for business and leisure, I often stay at similarly-ranked Marriott, Hyatt, Sheraton, Hilton, and Westin hotels. In the past 10 years, whenever I've arrived early and the hotel had an available room, they've always allowed early check-in, and this applies to hotels both in mainland China and abroad. I understand that the 3 PM check-in time is standard contractual practice, but I also believe whether a hotel accommodates early check-in reflects its attitude, especially since with limited transportation options and times, who can guarantee they'll never arrive early? On the day of my arrival, at 1 PM, the weather in Hong Kong was bad with heavy rain expected in the afternoon. I was with my child, and under those circumstances, I had to go out and kill two hours.
Despite clearly indicating that children would be staying, no children's toiletries were prepared in advance, something I've never encountered at any high-end hotel before.
Then, the room key card wouldn't open the door after multiple attempts.
I also requested a high-floor room when booking, but was still assigned a low floor. This trip made me realize that being a Ctrip Gold Diamond member carries little weight at this hotel. If that's the case, why does the platform bother recommending it to people?
In short, I won't be returning. I don't love those who don't love me; why spend money where you're not valued? Perhaps some might say I didn't ask for early check-in? My decade-plus of hotel experience has taught me one thing: I won't ask for anything. If they don't proactively offer it, it reflects the hotel's attitude. And this is the Shangri-La, once lauded as the pinnacle of service!

Exceeded my expectations, no disappointments whatsoever. I had initially looked at many hotels and reviews, and developed some preconceived notions about Hong Kong hotels, so I booked this one with very low expectations. To my surprise, it completely exceeded them; it was a very satisfying trip.
The hotel's location is excellent. I was in Hong Kong to see a concert at the Coliseum, and it was only about a ten-minute walk to the venue, even faster by taxi. There are also plenty of restaurants and shops nearby.
The service was very satisfying; all my requests were met. The kind gentleman who checked me in even upgraded my room type. The hotel doesn't provide drinking water, but there's a 7-Eleven downstairs where you can buy it. You'll need to bring your own charger and travel adapter.
The cleanliness was also quite good. I was initially worried about bed bugs and even brought my own disposable bedding, but I didn't need to use it. It was very clean, and the bed was soft.

The transportation is inconvenient. The hotel's earliest shuttle bus is at 7:30 AM, which isn't that early. It leaves promptly, and for mainland tourists who don't understand Cantonese, the service in Hong Kong can be impatient. Without them even prompting me, I'd just stand by the door and hop on any bus I saw. The first time, the bus left right in front of me, and I had to take a taxi, which made me very angry. The only solution is to pay for another round if you have time to spare. There is no clothes line in the room.

I am extremely disappointed with my stay at this Nathan hotel. The overall experience was far below my expectations.
First, the front desk female staff were impolite and unprofessional during the check-in process. Their attitude made me feel unwelcome from the moment I arrived. To make matters even more disappointing, the day of my check-in was my birthday, and I had hoped to enjoy a pleasant stay. Instead, it turned into a very frustrating experience.
After entering my room, I noticed that the air conditioning was not working properly. The room remained uncomfortably warm despite adjusting the temperature. I contacted the hotel, and an engineer came to inspect the air conditioner. He turned off the main power and restarted the system, but the problem remained unresolved. Rather than offering to change my room or provide an effective solution, the hotel simply gave us a fan.
Providing a fan is not an acceptable solution to a faulty air conditioning system. The room remained hot and uncomfortable throughout the stay, which seriously affected my comfort, sleep quality, and overall experience.
Given the poor service, the lack of professionalism, and the unresolved air conditioning issue, I believe the hotel failed to provide the standard of accommodation that guests should reasonably expect. Another male front desk staff member escorted us to Room 1004 on the Executive Floor. However, the room only had one king-size bed, and the hotel informed us that they could only provide a foldaway bed. This was completely different from the room type I had booked.
My reservation was clearly for a room with two double beds, so I do not understand why the hotel failed to provide the room type that I had reserved and confirmed. This caused unnecessary inconvenience and added to my disappointment with the overall stay.
The next day, the Duty Assistant Manager offered us two alternative rooms. However, neither of them was satisfactory.
The first room was on the 10th floor, but it still had only one king-size bed, which did not match my original reservation.
The second room was on the 5th floor and contained four twin beds in the form of two bunk beds. This room was clearly not comparable to the Executive Floor room that I had originally booked and was not suitable for our needs.
I made my booking based on the expectation that the hotel would provide the room type that was confirmed in my reservation. Unfortunately, the hotel failed to do so, which significantly affected our stay.
In addition to the issues mentioned above, the hair dryer in our room was also defective because the power plug had come loose and could not be used safely. I contacted the front desk to request a replacement hair dryer, but I was informed that the Housekeeping team first needed to come to the room to verify the issue before a replacement could be provided. This unnecessary process caused further inconvenience during our stay.
I would, however, like to recognize the professionalism and excellent service provided by the Housekeeping staff and the bellboy. They were polite, helpful, and courteous throughout our stay, and they deserve to be commended for their efforts.
Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the front desk staff. Their attitude was consistently disappointing from check-in to check-out. The male staff member who assisted us during check-out was also unfriendly and unprofessional. I believe the front desk team requires further customer service training to improve their attitude and the way they communicate with guests.
Overall, this was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I have ever had. I will not stay at Nathan Hotel again, nor will I recommend it to others. I sincerely hope that Trip.com and the hotel will take this complaint seriously and provide a fair resolution to this matter.FromBRL 417

Here are some suggestions for the hotel:
* Although the hotel promotes environmental protection, there were no bathrobes in the room. I had to call room service to get them. Also, the paper in the room was already scribbled on 😩, which felt like a lack of preparation and was a bit disappointing 😔.
* It would be convenient to have a small shelf in the toilet cubicle to place items like phones, feminine products, etc.
* I would expect a coffee machine in this room type for guests to enjoy 🙇🏻♀️🙏🏻.
* Keep up with the times by introducing electronic devices, such as automatic flush sensors, updating and utilizing the TV in the bathtub, equipping rooms with Bluetooth, and allowing the TV to connect to YouTube/Netflix, etc.

My stay exceeded expectations! 👍 The location is superb, making it incredibly convenient for shopping and getting around Tsim Sha Tsui. I could easily walk to the Star Ferry and Harbour City. The room was clean, comfortable, and elegantly decorated with a touch of quality. The staff were all very gentle and polite. The concierge's luggage storage service was incredibly helpful and very tourist-friendly. It's a quiet oasis amidst the bustling city, perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. I stayed at the Metropark Hotel Kowloon when I visited Hong Kong in June, and found the shuttle service a bit inconvenient for getting around. This time, I wanted something closer to the MTR, so I chose the Metropark Hotel Mongkok and I highly recommend it. While the lobby isn't grand, the service was excellent, breakfast was good, and the room was clean. The main highlight is how incredibly convenient it is for dining, shopping, and buying things. First off, the air conditioning in the room wasn't working, which was unbearable given the hot weather. They did help us switch rooms later. The only downside was that the front desk phone was practically impossible to reach; you had to go downstairs yourself to ask anything. Second, the bathroom facilities were a bit old-fashioned, and the bathtub was quite low. Third, regarding transportation, there's an airport shuttle right on the G floor, and downstairs there's a supermarket and restaurants, all very convenient. Getting to the MTR station is easy; you just tap your Octopus card downstairs, and you get a HK$2 discount daily when going to Tai Wo Hau by MTR. The hotel's shuttle service to Tsim Sha Tsui has also been adjusted. Overall, it's still a good value-for-money hotel. I hope the hotel staff's service attitude can improve; that would make it even better.FromBRL 304

I was very satisfied with the large and excellent hotel room in Tsim Sha Tsui. From the enthusiastic reception at the front desk to the room service, everything was great. The restaurant was also very good. What I appreciated most was its location in a bustling area of Hong Kong. It's incredibly convenient to get anywhere, whether by bus or MTR, and the sightseeing bus stop for a tour around Hong Kong is just a few minutes' walk away.FromBRL 376

The location is excellent, right outside the subway exit. It's just one stop from West Kowloon, and you can walk to Tsim Sha Tsui. Although it's an older hotel, the room facilities are a bit dated, but it's clean and hygienic with an 'old money' vibe. The front desk lady, Polly, upgraded our room for free, which made our stay very comfortable. Later, another front desk staff member in the evening helped us get a late check-out, which was incredibly thoughtful! Plus, I discovered that the nearby parking lot offers overnight parking for only 98! For drivers coming from Guangdong, this hotel is a great option. The hotel's location and room views were both very satisfying. The staff at the second-floor restaurant were enthusiastic with their recommendations, and the food was delicious. I would definitely choose this hotel again if I come back. Just be aware that the hotel does not provide disposable toothbrushes or slippers, so you'll need to bring your own. I saw the Black Diamond Wow Privilege and it was my child's birthday, so I thought I'd try the Rosewood Hong Kong, which I've long heard is the best. We stayed for two nights. First, I'd say the check-in experience was quite good. I booked two rooms, one with a Kowloon view and one with a sea view, and requested they be on the same floor in advance. Trip.com customer service followed up, and indeed, we got rooms on the same floor. However, we didn't receive the room upgrade mentioned in the Wow Privilege. We checked in at 4 PM, and the rooms were ready with a handwritten welcome letter and a fruit platter (three oranges) in each. I didn't mention my child's birthday during check-in, so we didn't get a birthday cake on their actual birthday. I feel the attention to detail in service was a bit lacking – a deduction for attentiveness. The hotel front desk also didn't mention the Wow Privilege or the option for a 2-hour late check-out. The staff's service attitude was excellent; they switched seamlessly between English, Cantonese, and Mandarin. Breakfast was semi-buffet style, with some items for self-service and others to order from a menu. Although the variety wasn't extensive, the food was well-prepared and delicious. My only slight disappointment was that the wonton noodles on the first day were amazing, but when I ordered them again on the second day, they were significantly less impressive, with a bland and tasteless broth. The hot waffles were delicious both days 😋. The turndown service every night was excellent, and the room cleaning was very thorough. During our stay, we also tried the spa, pool, and gym, all of which I highly recommend.FromBRL 3,857

This was my first trip abroad, and many people had told me that hotel rooms in Hong Kong are particularly small and expensive. I spent a long time searching and filtering options on the platform before my trip. After much deliberation, I booked two rooms with some trepidation: one king-size and one twin-bed room. Even before entering the lobby, I felt a wave of warmth as soon as I stepped out of the taxi. Someone immediately helped me with my luggage, and check-in was quite fast. I didn't even have to carry my own bags; the hotel staff brought them directly to our rooms. The bedding was very comfortable, and even though it was a partial sea view, we could still see the night view of Victoria Harbour, which was absolutely perfect. Just outside the hotel, there's a 7-Eleven and a really delicious egg waffle stall. It's also super convenient for taking the MTR and buses. To anyone still hesitating, go ahead and book it! You definitely won't be disappointed. I'll choose to stay here again on my next trip to Hong Kong!FromBRL 953

Right next to the International Convention and Exhibition Center. We got a free upgrade from a king-sized room to an executive room, which was great. The location is excellent. One of the rooms had a bit of a smell, and they arranged a room change for us even at midnight, so the service was truly fantastic. However, most rooms don't have a hairdryer, and there are no toothbrushes or toothpaste, but I assume you can ask the front desk if needed. Overall, it was a great stay!FromBRL 244

The hotel's decor is a bit dated, but the cleanliness was quite good. They also offer a free shuttle bus service to Langham Place (Mong Kok area). My only complaint is that there was no hot water for showering – seriously, no hot water! The water pressure was very weak, and the temperature barely reached 40 degrees Celsius. It was only slightly warm if you stood right under the showerhead, but more than 5 centimeters away and it was cold. It's been rainy and chilly these past few days, so coming back from sightseeing to shower with such a weak stream of lukewarm water was unbearable. I reported it to the hotel, and they said it was due to many people using the water, causing the temperature to drop. However, I tried showering during off-peak hours, and it was still not hot enough. The hotel also doesn't provide toiletries or drinking water.FromBRL 272
