Peak hours like Friday evenings, Saturday mornings, and Sunday evenings sell out quickly, so book early if you’re heading in or out during these times.

⚠️ Important — Cashless Payment at Woodlands: As of 1 January 2025, KTMB operates a fully cashless system. The Woodlands ticket counter accepts KTM Wallet only — cash is NOT accepted. If you plan to buy tickets at the Woodlands counter, make sure you have set up and topped up your KTM Wallet in advance via the KITS Style app or the KTMB website. At JB Sentral, you may also pay by cash or debit/credit card (Visa/Mastercard). For online purchases, credit/debit card or KTM Wallet are accepted.

If you’re taking the train from Singapore to Johor Bahru, all Singapore immigration clearance is done at Woodlands Train Checkpoint before boarding.
Here’s how the procedure works:
Arrive at Woodlands Train Checkpoint at least 30 minutes before departure, especially during peak periods.
Proceed to the KTM area and confirm:
Go through Singapore departure immigration:
After clearing immigration, wait in the designated holding area until boarding is announced.
Board the KTM Shuttle Tebrau when called. The train ride to JB Sentral takes about 5 minutes.
Upon arrival, disembark and proceed directly to Malaysia immigration clearance at JB Sentral.
