Hotels near Shirogane Onsen, Biei

The hotel is only about 200 meters from Shirahige Waterfall, which is absolutely stunning – no picture can truly capture its majesty. In the evening, there's a shuttle service to Shirogane Blue Pond for a light show. The hotel staff were all incredibly friendly. There was a mix-up with the pick-up service, or perhaps a misunderstanding on my part, so I missed the shuttle and had to take a taxi for 40km. I wasn't used to the bedding; it had a strange bed cover, which made it difficult to sleep.

This was the best hotel of my trip! First, the good points: the shuttle service was super convenient. I just called them through Trip.com, and they picked me up at the Asahikawa JR Bus Stop #1 at 2 PM and took me directly to the hotel. The location is excellent – right next to Shirogane Blue Pond, and you can easily walk to the Blue River (Aoiike) in about half an hour without needing to join a tour. That walk along the Blue River was honestly my favorite part of the entire Japan trip, especially since I could go at my own pace, without crowds, and take as many photos as I wanted. After dinner, there was a shuttle to see the special light effects at the Blue Pond, which were pretty cool. Every day, I got to enjoy several true onsen baths, including outdoor ones. It was such a unique experience to be soaking in a hot spring while it was snowing heavily on my head! Finally, and most importantly, both the dinner and breakfast at the hotel were absolutely top-notch. They had unlimited fatty tuna, sukiyaki, beef, strawberries, tempura, and so much more, and everything tasted fantastic. I'd honestly go back to Biei just for this hotel again!

We were given a triple room. While the room was a bit old, it had ample desk space and very comfortable chairs. The hot spring is a sulfate spring. They offer a free shuttle service, departing from the hotel at 7:25 PM and from Aoi Pond at 8:15 PM, which was a nice bonus. Breakfast was excellent, and the service was even better. This hotel truly lives up to Japan's high standards.

The hotel is near Platinum Onsen Station. I booked a room with a private onsen, and it was definitely more comfortable to enjoy the hot spring in my own room. The included dinner was actually quite substantial, but the extra wagyu shabu-shabu we ordered was also delicious.

The accommodation is much better than I thought. We went in the winter and the snow was really thick. The villa has 2 floors. The ground floor has a kitchen, a dining area, and a backyard area. The upper floor is a bedroom with a large window for sleeping and watching the snow. If you go in the winter, you have to push your luggage in a cart yourself. It's fun. The atmosphere around the accommodation is good, but it's more suitable for people with cars because it's quite far from the city.

Located in a very remote place, 45 minutes drive from Furano. Exactly like classic detective novel snow mansion setting. The entrance to the hotel ground is elusive. If you want to avoid the crowd, this is the place to choose. The view is fantastic. 5 minutes drive to the most wonderful free Fukiage Onsen. The room is spacious and the price is very good compared with hotels in Furano. There is free flow beer and whisky in the lounge from 3pm to 10pm. You need to order dinner when make room reservation. They don't accept ordering on the spot. Microwave is provided so you can package dinner from convenient shops in Furano.

Delicious dinner and nicely-presented dishes. Plus, a great mountain view while enjoying the dinner. I checked out in the morning to climb Tokachidake. Really delighted to know that I could still have an onsen soak for free after the climb.
