Our stay at Chalet Ivy Jozankei was truly memorable and one of the best luxury hotel experiences we have had in Japan. The hotel is beautifully designed, impeccably maintained, and the hospitality from most of the staff was exceptional. We were warmly welcomed by a lovely lady at reception (whose name I unfortunately did not catch), who shared that she personally grows the beautiful flowers displayed in the hotel's sitting area. That personal touch immediately made us feel at home. Mr. Tai, who checked us in, was friendly, patient, courteous and professional. He took the time to explain the room features and hotel facilities in detail, making us feel genuinely welcomed. The cleanliness deserves special recognition. I am particularly sensitive to cleanliness and usually notice dust very easily, yet I could not find a single speck of dirt anywhere in the room. It is honestly one of the cleanest hotels I have ever stayed in. The lounge was another highlight. Each guest received a ¥1,000 alcoholic drink credit, and the complimentary snacks featured premium Hokkaido brands such as LeTAO, Yoshimi and Ryugetsu, making the experience feel truly luxurious. Dinner was outstanding. Every course was beautifully presented and delicious, while the restaurant staff provided attentive and polished service. The hotel's tasteful interior perfectly complemented the stunning views of the lush greenery and Toyohira River. We were also delighted to find beautifully cut and chilled melon and strawberries waiting in our room upon arrival. It was a thoughtful welcome that reflected the hotel's exceptional attention to detail. Breakfast was equally impressive, with beautifully prepared dishes that made each morning enjoyable. The private onsen in our room was undoubtedly one of the highlights of our stay, allowing us to relax while enjoying the peaceful natural surroundings. While our overall experience was excellent, I have a few suggestions for improvement. One Japanese male staff member who was on duty during check-in and later that evening came across as rather cold. On several occasions, I smiled and greeted him, but he did not acknowledge me and simply walked away. The contrast with the warmth shown by the rest of the team was quite noticeable. As such a premium property, it would also be wonderful if the hotel could offer more cultural or wellness activities, such as tea appreciation sessions, guided evening walks or seasonal experiences. During a previous stay at Capella Singapore, these activities became some of the most memorable parts of our visit, and I believe Chalet Ivy Jozankei has the perfect setting to offer something similar. I would also like to suggest a different restaurant seating arrangement for tables of four. Currently, only two guests can enjoy the beautiful river and greenery views while the other two face the interior of the restaurant. Arranging the tables perpendicular to the windows would allow all four guests to enjoy the spectacular scenery during their meal. Lastly, although we appreciated receiving tickets to the Summer Night Illumination Festival, accessing the main street requires walking up a very steep slope that is shared with vehicles, which could be challenging and potentially unsafe for elderly guests. In the future, perhaps a pedestrian bridge connecting Level 5 directly to the street level could improve accessibility and safety. Overall, Chalet Ivy Jozankei delivered an exceptional luxury experience with outstanding cleanliness, thoughtful hospitality, remarkable cuisine and beautiful surroundings. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily return in the future. Thank you to the entire team for making our visit so memorable.

My last stay here was in winter and it was great, but this time the air conditioning in the room was terrible. Even on the lowest setting, the room was still hot and stuffy. I had to use a fan all night to cool down and couldn't get a good rest for three consecutive days. Other amenities and services were decent, but the AC issue significantly lowered my comfort level. I definitely wouldn't recommend staying here in the summer.

The most comfortable bed I’ve ever had in a hotel. We had some of the best sleep during our stay. The bed was huge and incredibly comfortable, with plenty of pillows and soft, high-quality linens. The room itself was spacious, quiet, and very well soundproofed, with lots of space to store luggage and personal items, plus many useful amenities. The entire hotel has a modern, clean design and is kept in excellent condition. The staff were very kind, professional, and spoke English, which made everything easy. They even provided umbrellas free of charge when it rained, which was a thoughtful touch. The hotel bar also deserves a mention. The service was excellent, the drinks were very good, and the parfaits were delicious. Since parfaits are very popular locally in Sapporo, I definitely recommend trying one here. The location is convenient too: just a short walk from Susukino and the Sapporo city center, close to the station by a few metro stops, and easy to reach by taxi. Overall, this Marriott was a real gem. Because of such a pleasant experience here, I’ll definitely consider staying at other Marriott Courtyard hotels in the future.

The location is great, and the hygiene is pretty good too, though once I found a hair on the towel and a tiny hair on the bedsheet. Overall, it's acceptable, but the room is tiny – it's the smallest hotel room I've stayed in in Japan. The service attitude was good, though. Next time I go to Hokkaido, I'll definitely pay more attention to room size before booking a hotel.

Additional review Pros: Location 1. Convenient transportation: After arriving at New Chitose Airport, take the JR train. Exit Sapporo South Exit on the first floor to the plaza, then turn right across the street to reach the hotel. You can also take the underground shopping street APIA, but you'll need to go up about ten steps as we couldn't find an accessible elevator. If you have luggage, it's more convenient to walk above ground. If you're taking the bus, there's a stop nearby, about 200 meters away. When we arrived, the adjacent block was under construction, and the ground was uneven, making it very inconvenient to push luggage. Under normal circumstances, it would be fine. However, the airport bus stop is right below the hotel, which is very convenient. Be sure to check the schedule; we saw many people queuing over two days, so it's likely you won't make it on the spot and might need to wait for the next bus. 2. Convenient for shopping and dining: Daimaru is opposite the hotel, Stella is next to Daimaru, and Tokyu is diagonally opposite Stella. You can see them all from the South Exit Plaza. The entrance to the underground shopping street APIA is right outside the hotel (via stairs), but we recommend taking the elevator down to B1 for direct access to APIA, which is extremely convenient on rainy days. The underground street directly connects to all nearby shopping malls and the JR station. The underground street itself has food and shopping. For dining, just follow the local office workers in line for authentic local flavors (be warned, some local ramen shops are incredibly salty, choose carefully). There are also plenty of restaurants nearby, but not many drugstores. The scattered two or three stores are small, suitable for restocking but not for major shopping. 3. Abundant and surprising breakfast: We entered and exited Sapporo, and compared to other options, this hotel's buffet breakfast had a wide variety and good quality. The seafood options for the DIY seafood bowl were also plentiful and replenished promptly. Friends who like a rich breakfast should not be disappointed. Besides the obvious advantages above, here are a few points to consider when choosing this hotel: 1. The front desk is on the 7th floor, with two direct elevators that require a key card. You might have to wait during peak hours, and their speed is average. 2. During check-in, the front desk insisted that everyone register via machine, but the system was cumbersome and prone to bugs. When we registered, there were a total of three machines and four groups of guests, including locals. Everyone eventually needed human assistance. The front desk staff started with smiles, but by the end, I felt it was good that they maintained their politeness. I wonder what the management is thinking; there are quite a few front desk staff, why add to everyone's burden? 3. The room size is normally small. The hallway and lobby are relatively new, while the rooms are slightly dated but acceptably clean. 4. The price is slightly higher than the surrounding area (this price difference is acceptable if you prioritize convenient transportation and shopping).

We’ve stayed here for 7 nights. Which was a bit longer stay for Sapporo. However as the weather was so bad with heavy snow, so we did enjoy our stays in hotel during the snowy weather. The breakfast is so great and we expect it every morning, as it includes a variety of foods so you always can find something to enjoy. All staffs are very friendly and welcoming, especially two male & senior chefs at ramen and omelette. We also bought spa in our room rate, so every night we did enjoy a pleasant spa( though it’s not hot spring). In front of hotel, there is a small mall - BIVI , which with some good restaurants ,nice cafe (Gentle Bagel) and coop. Even at the heavy snowing days, you have no worries to spend time in. B1 with very practical laundry service , costs are fairly . If you have budget, you can choose only room (without breakfast and spa) plans, which is with very CP, strongly recommended.

I had a great stay at this hotel. The staff were exceptionally friendly and nice, and they were even kind enough to offer me a late check-out at 1:00 PM, which I really appreciated. The room was spacious, the public bath was a great feature, and the self-service luggage storage was very convenient. the hotel is a bit of a walk from the metro, it is near a bus stop for the airport limousine. The breakfast variety was a bit more limited compared to other hotels I have visited. Overall, the hospitality made for a wonderful experience.

I recently stayed at Hotel Mystays Sapporo Susukino and overall had a comfortable and convenient experience that suited my travel style perfectly. The hotel is located in the heart of Susukino, Sapporo’s most vibrant entertainment and dining district, which makes it an excellent base for exploring the city. It is about a five to seven minute walk from Susukino Subway Station, giving easy access to other parts of Sapporo, including Odori Park and Sapporo Station. The surrounding area is filled with restaurants, ramen shops, convenience stores, cafes, and nightlife spots, so finding something to eat at any hour is never a problem. Despite being in a lively neighborhood, the hotel itself feels calm and secure once inside. The room was compact, as expected for a Japanese city hotel, but it was thoughtfully designed to maximize space. I stayed in a standard room, which had a comfortable bed, a small desk, a flat-screen television, a refrigerator, an electric kettle, and air conditioning. There was enough space to open a medium-sized suitcase, although travelers with very large luggage might find it slightly tight. The bathroom was clean and functional, with a combined bathtub and shower unit, along with basic toiletries provided. Water pressure was good, and hot water was consistent, which was especially appreciated during the colder Hokkaido weather. Cleanliness throughout the hotel was satisfactory. Housekeeping maintained the room well, and the common areas such as the lobby and hallways were tidy. The staff members were polite and professional, and while not all were fluent in English, communication was smooth and efficient. Check-in and check-out processes were straightforward and quick. One highlight of the stay was the breakfast buffet, which featured a mix of Japanese and Western options. There were rice dishes, miso soup, grilled fish, salads, bread, eggs, and several local Hokkaido ingredients. It was a convenient way to start the day, especially before heading out for sightseeing. The hotel also offers practical amenities such as free Wi-Fi, coin-operated laundry machines, vending machines, and luggage storage services. These facilities make it especially suitable for mid-length stays or travelers moving between cities. Overall, Hotel Mystays Sapporo Susukino delivers solid value for money. While it is not a luxury property, it provides comfort, cleanliness, and a prime location at a reasonable price. I would recommend it to solo travelers, couples, or friends looking for an affordable and well-located hotel in Sapporo.

The place is fairly conveniently and centrally located. Easy to get to many places just by walking. There is a bus stop to the Chitose airport that’s fairly close to the hotel. The breakfast is not bad, although seems to have not changed during my stay. The laundry is slightly costly but amazing, works really well. There are two problems. One is that the bathroom smells bad. I cannot really manage this issue after two days. Another issue is that the elevator to the breakfast restaurant seems to be a bit dirty and there’s no one cleaning it.

We stayed for 2 nights, and had a pleasant stay. The hotel is 3 mins walk to Susukino and 5 mins walk to 狸小路 with many convenient stores and restaurants around. The front desk staff helped us to check in with the check in machine and the process was fast. We like the beds and room size, and the free flow of Haskap juice throughout afternoon and evening. The drawbacks are the front desk staff have limited English and didn’t understand our request to have a cleanup in our room as we were sleeping late and missed morning cleanup. The nearest airport shuttle bus stop across from hotel abest Sapporo is 4 blocks away and we have to take a taxi around 950yen with luggages to get there in the slushy snow. There are many Thai tourists in both evenings when we went back to hotel so the hotel is quite popular and crowded. Nevertheless the hotel was able to give us a high floor room away from elevators per our request and we had a quiet room which we appreciate a lot. Will definitely consider staying again given the hotel room is a good price!
