"The hotel is small. Just be mentally prepared that of you arrive after midnight, it can be quite scary taking the free shuttle offered by the hotel. However, this is not the hotels issue but that because of the ongoing airport expansion, there was a lot of construction going on near the airport. So at about 2am, I took the free shuttle and the surrounding is pitch dark with extremely bumpy road. It can feel quite scary. Otherwise, the hotel is pretty clean and well located. I chose this hotel precisely because of its nearby the airport and I can catch a few hours of sleep before taking the free shuttle back to the airport."

"My sister and I picked the perfect hotel for our trip to Kunming! It's only a 5-minute walk from the subway station, making it super convenient to get to all the attractions, and we felt safe returning late at night. Breakfast goes until 10 AM, so no need to rush, and the freshly ground coffee was lovely. The mattress was so soft and comfortable, we slept like a dream. The front desk staff even shared some local, lesser-known spots to explore, which made our solo time incredibly enjoyable. The front desk was also incredibly responsive. Breakfast was great too. There are so many picturesque photo opportunities around! "This was my first time in Kunming, and I initially booked the wrong dates for another hotel, but everything happens for a reason, and it led me to book this place. The area outside is very quiet, feels like a pedestrian street, which is lovely. Inside, it's also beautiful. It's only my first day checking in, and I couldn't wait to post a review! The service is excellent too. As soon as I walked in, a lobby attendant helped me with my luggage. The hotel only has three floors, and even though there's no elevator, the attendant helped carry my bags upstairs. My luggage was really heavy, so I truly appreciate his effort. The front desk ladies were also wonderful and very patient. The laundry service is convenient: you just put your clothes in a bag, leave it by your door, and the staff will wash, dry, and return them to your room. They also offer breakfast, afternoon tea, and a goodnight dessert. You need to pre-select your breakfast the day before – I'll try it tomorrow. But the afternoon tea and goodnight dessert were truly delicious! Even though I booked this place last minute, I was genuinely impressed."

"Bad review. The room should have been fine, but it wasn't for me. There was only half a screen window, so there was no airflow at all. By bedtime, I felt胸闷 (chest tightness/stuffy), and woke up in the middle of the night feeling stifled! I had to open the door to get some relief. Because of this, when I booked my next two nights, I was so worried about screen windows. I asked customer service at a few hotels, but they couldn't tell me if their windows had screens, and I couldn't get through to a human agent. The day trip meant early mornings and late nights, and I would have missed the free cancellation window. In the end, I went with a friend I'd just met on the day trip to a homestay, and the environment was terrible, so much clutter, oh my god! I really blame Yuntong Hotel; it made me worry that all the windows in Kunming would be screen windows."

XXiangchuankuchadeyuI've been to Kunming for business a few times, but this is my first stay at this hotel, and it really exceeded my expectations! The front desk staff were incredibly warm and welcoming. While checking in, they thoughtfully offered me a cup of hot ginger water because it was a bit chilly, which was a very sweet gesture. They even put a protective sleeve on my ID card – it's the little details that make all the difference. I can only say I'm extremely satisfied. The room was very clean and tidy, with a modern and spacious layout that made for a comfortable stay. The breakfast was plentiful, delicious, clean, and hygienic. The hotel is also very close to both the metro station and Kunming Railway Station, with tons of great food options nearby. Choosing Aiman Huajian Hotel for this trip to Kunming was definitely the right decision. I'll be back again next time!

The room facilities are brand new, and despite being right by the elevator, it was incredibly quiet – totally disagree with some reviews saying it's noisy, the soundproofing is excellent. Plus, breakfast starts before 7 AM, which is perfect! Very happy with my stay!

WWeisili2047Our independent trip to Yunnan concluded in Kunming, our final stop. We chose the Four Points by Sheraton Kunming, City Center because it's right next to Kunming's old town, placing us in the most vibrant part of downtown. Adjacent to it is the upscale Shuncheng Shopping Mall, and the Wuyi Road Station (Exit B) of Metro Line 3 is just 200 meters away. We stayed on the 28th floor, offering fantastic views of the Jinma Biji Archway, both day and night. The front desk staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, offering advice on transportation and tourist attractions from a local's perspective. I really appreciate their assistance. The room was very clean, with a wide selection of live TV channels. The bathroom had modern shower facilities, and the bed and other amenities were very comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep. A short 10-minute walk takes you to the 'Paper-Thin Buildings' in Kunming's old town (such as Duiyue Tower and Jiubei Tower, built to commemorate the 1946 victory in the Anti-Japanese War), which are quite lively in the evening. Nearby, you can also find the former residence of Mr. Nie Er (born in Kunming, he passed away at 23). The pedestrian area boasts many excellent restaurants, coffee shops, tea houses, and bars, making it easy to find good food and enjoy some leisure time.

PPsymondDespite the convenient location, comfortable beds, and all-important quiet sleep we managed to get, the hotel's communication to arrange our pick up from the train station at night and what turned out to be a self-check-in was just dismal, clearly needing more training to ensure better organisation for future guests. The following constructive advice is to help the hotel improve and for (particularly foreign) guests to note: 1. Ask for guests' phone number and inform the driver well in advance of our arrival, instead of waiting till the very last minute to do so. We reached out to the hotel via WeChat the day before and rightfully received detailed instructions (in Chinese) to find the driver (the pick up service is actually outsourced to a separate company using 3 different vans), but once we found the van, the driver angrily insisted we call the hotel to identify us by confirming our phone number - we were not allowed to board without the hotel's confirmation, which should have been done directly with the driver well in advance of our arrival. 2. This hotel is not manned after hours, let alone 24 hours, so please make it known well beforehand that we will have to check in ourselves if arriving after hours, and provide clear instructions on how to do so instead of communicating them through the phone while guiding us using the security cameras. It is not the guests' responsibility to do your administrative work (to report ourselves to the authorities by scanning the police QR code and filling out our details) at 11 o'clock at night when we have an early morning train to catch the following day. The hotel should allow guests to enter the room as soon as possible upon arrival, not have us wait half an hour while they struggle with what was clearly their first time checking in foreign guests - worse still over the phone - insisting that this be done before we could enter our room. 3. If the hotel truly wants the patronage of foreign guests, they will have to prioritise our convenience and comfort over theirs by actually having someone check us in in-person. Remotely doing so to save costs is as absurd as expecting foreign guests to communicate our details over the phone, sending photos of ourselves, our passport details etc. via WeChat, and then finding our room card and the room by talking to someone over the phone in Chinese. At the very least, these requirements and instructions should be clearly produced and communicated beforehand so that nothing is improvised. We hope the above experience helps improve what is a decent hotel providing good value for money.

JjukachaThis time in this hotel we got the room on the first floor and this room was quite awful. Toilet is stinky and has problems with flushing, the window outside passing all the sounds from the street and it's annoying. Other rooms aren't so bad, but on the first floor better never choose.
