GGuest UserExtremely satisfied with every aspect. The location near Dianchi Lake makes it very convenient to visit nearby attractions. Wangfujing Outlets is right downstairs, perfect for shopping and dining. It's only a 5-6 minute drive to Fubao Village. The hotel's interior design is very tasteful, and every corner is beautiful. There's also a communal tea room. The meals included in the room rate are of high quality. The staff are attentive and provide excellent service. The complimentary travel photography was also a great experience. All in all, it was perfect, and I will definitely stay here again.

CChunjieerzhuThe hotel's design beautifully blends Dian (Yunnanese) aesthetics with modern luxury, and the rooms are very spacious, offering a near-Park Hyatt level of experience. The location is excellent, right in the heart of Kunming, with a direct skybridge to Spring City 66. The service is thoughtful and attentive; check-in was efficient, and attention to detail was evident. The breakfast offers a rich variety, including authentic local flavors like Yunnan rice noodles and Erkuai, all of which taste amazing. Bianca was incredibly attentive and responsive to all our needs. She also handled a small issue during our meal at Yunxiang restaurant very well, providing a gentle yet professional solution.

MMarc1The hotel is beautifully located by a serene, quiet lake, making it an excellent choice for a relaxing stay. It is particularly popular among families with children, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
The breakfast is fantastic, especially if you go early in the morning when the food is freshly prepared. However, later in the day, the selection may not be as fresh.
While the staff does not speak English, navigating your stay is still manageable with some basic Chinese and the help of Google Translate—just as it is in many parts of China.
I highly recommend booking a room with a spa on the balcony. These rooms are located on the second floor, offering greater privacy and more outdoor space. The spa feature itself can be a bit tricky to use—you need to ensure the water level is just right, as too much or too little will prevent it from working properly.
Overall, the hotel is very clean, and the staff is accommodating and responsive to any requests. If you’re looking for a peaceful getaway with excellent amenities, this is a great choice.

JJalieRoom was very clean and spacious. Cars do not stop in front of the hotel entrance and stop only at the main road so there is a short walk to the entrance of the hotel. There is self service bottled mineral water and dry snacks available at a mini bar beside the front desk, which is a plus.
The heater/ aircon in our room was not functioning in the middle of the night and there was no ventilation. The staff kindly sent a fan to the room. Our room was quiet and bed was comfortable.
There was a good variety for breakfast but the fruits runs out fast.
Did not explore nearby but there seems to be a couple of eateries around.

GGuest UserThe InterContinental Kunming is located in the beautiful Dianchi scenic area, boasting stunning surroundings and first-class facilities. The butler service was attentive and thoughtful. We had the 218 RMB set menu at the hotel's Chinese restaurant, and it was incredibly varied and excellent value for money. All in all, the InterContinental will definitely be our top choice next time we visit Kunming!

YYueqingJust a short walk away is the farmer's market, offering delicious fruits and unique Yunnan snacks. Yunnan University's former site (Southwest Associated University) is also nearby. The flower cakes are amazing, and the mushroom fried rice at the cafe is absolutely superb!
Facilities: There's a washing machine available.
Cleanliness: Spotless.
Environment: Comfortable, felt just like home.
Service: They provided small gifts like hair ties and bandaids. The staff member who helped me with my luggage when I checked in was incredibly kind, and I was so touched! They also helped me mail some items when I left, which I'm very grateful for – truly, thank you so much!
They have a billiards table and a ping-pong table here! I also met some friendly people, making for a very happy stay.
The old street in Yunnan is definitely worth exploring.
I took a photo of the hostel from outside; the bougainvillea is beautiful.
The cafe menu even has the hostel's love story, which I found very touching.

AAnonymous UserFirst off, the location. The hotel is in the old part of town, and there's really nothing to explore within a 5-minute walk, just local shops in residential neighborhoods. It takes about 15 minutes by taxi to get to Kunming Old Street and Nanping Street, and around 30-40 minutes to Daguan Park, Haigeng, and Xishan. Taxis and ride-shares in Kunming aren't expensive, though.
The hotel is part of a chain and is rated as a 5-diamond hotel, which is accurate. The public areas are quite nice, the staff are polite, and responses are prompt. They even upgraded my room.
Now, for the room itself. I honestly didn't expect the hotel to be so old. The room's style, decor, and furniture are all very dated. There's a red, nightclub-style sofa, a partially broken light control, and carpet throughout. Only one window in the entire room can be opened. With Kunming's weather, you definitely need the AC if you don't open the window. But if you do open it, the wind in Kunming is very strong, and the window happens to be right behind the desk, so you get blasted by the wind while sitting there. However, the hotel's view is truly excellent. You can see Dianchi Lake in the distance, as well as the sunrise and the Xishan sunset. I'd say a good chunk of the room rate is for that view.
Regarding the service, during my three-day, two-night stay, I ordered three or four deliveries. It took 20-30 minutes from the time the delivery driver arrived in the lobby until I received the food in my room, and that was after calling twice to hurry them up. This was really annoying. Then, on the second day, I was out all morning, and when I came back at noon, the room hadn't even been cleaned? That's just ridiculous.
To sum it up, hotels in Kunming are generally just okay, and Kunming isn't a huge city, so this hotel is pretty average overall.

AAnonymous User1. **Location & Transportation:** The location is great, right downstairs from Jinma Biji Archway. It's quiet despite being in a bustling area, making it very convenient for getting around.
2. The decor isn't new, nor is it old. It's well-maintained and clean, and the common areas are kept up very nicely.
3. **Service Attitude:** The bar staff, especially the younger guy, has a great service attitude and is very responsive (though the supervisor wasn't very friendly and seemed to treat guests differently).
4. The bedding is decent and comfortable. The bed curtains are blackout, so they don't disturb your sleep.
5. Overall, it offers great value for money.

GGuest UserFacilities: Amazing! The moment I walked in, my eyes lit up. The design is really great, and you can tell it's a hostel with a strong youth culture.
Cleanliness: Also good, no issues overall!
Service: The front desk service was excellent! Both the young men and women were fantastic, from my late check-in at night to my check-out the next morning.
They also have many appealing international activities, which is great.

WWeisili2047Our independent trip to Yunnan concluded in Kunming, our final stop. We chose the Four Points by Sheraton Kunming, City Center because it's right next to Kunming's old town, placing us in the most vibrant part of downtown. Adjacent to it is the upscale Shuncheng Shopping Mall, and the Wuyi Road Station (Exit B) of Metro Line 3 is just 200 meters away.
We stayed on the 28th floor, offering fantastic views of the Jinma Biji Archway, both day and night. The front desk staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, offering advice on transportation and tourist attractions from a local's perspective. I really appreciate their assistance.
The room was very clean, with a wide selection of live TV channels. The bathroom had modern shower facilities, and the bed and other amenities were very comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep.
A short 10-minute walk takes you to the 'Paper-Thin Buildings' in Kunming's old town (such as Duiyue Tower and Jiubei Tower, built to commemorate the 1946 victory in the Anti-Japanese War), which are quite lively in the evening. Nearby, you can also find the former residence of Mr. Nie Er (born in Kunming, he passed away at 23). The pedestrian area boasts many excellent restaurants, coffee shops, tea houses, and bars, making it easy to find good food and enjoy some leisure time.
