GGuest UserThis hotel is located right in the city center, with a lively pedestrian street and plenty of great food options downstairs. The halal beef pancakes right outside are delicious and always have a long queue! If you turn right out of the hotel and pass Nanning Street, you'll reach Shuncheng Shopping Mall, which boasts numerous restaurants. The Wuyi Road metro station is also right next to it. You can easily walk to Cuihu Park and several other pedestrian streets from the hotel, making dining and shopping incredibly convenient. The hotel breakfast offers a wide variety of dishes, including local Yunnan specialties like Er'si and rice noodles.
The hotel maintains the high standards of Sheraton (Marriott), and the room facilities are excellent. The lovely front desk staff even upgraded my room and gave me a fruit platter. My room on the 28th floor offered expansive city views. For transportation to Kunming Station, if you're in a hurry, I'd recommend a taxi as there might not be a direct metro line due to the complex underground structure of the old city. One suggestion I have is to place ashtrays (or poles) outside the entrance. This would prevent guests who step out to smoke from a non-smoking hotel from littering cigarette butts.

The 24-hour complimentary airport shuttle is super convenient and stress-free, taking only 10 minutes, and the driver was punctual and attentive. The rooms are clean with no strange odors, and the soundproofing is excellent. With smart room controls and zero-pressure mattresses, I slept soundly without being disturbed by airplane noise. Breakfast includes Yunnan rice noodles, fresh and abundant. The value for money is exceptional. This is definitely the top choice for layovers or early morning flights!

I couldn't hear any planes taking off or landing, nor any airport announcements, allowing me to get some proper rest. The only downside was that the room had no window, but for just one night's stay, it was perfectly acceptable. The front desk staff were very friendly and even gave me some fruit and a breakfast voucher. Overall, I highly recommend it! It's perfect for those who've just arrived or are about to depart (they also offer hourly rates, which is very flexible).

GGuest UserFirst impressions upon check-in: impeccable service, and the front desk was very efficient. The room was around 30 square meters, with excellent soundproofing, ensuring a peaceful night's sleep without any noise disturbance. The mattress was just right, not too soft, not too firm, and the duvet was light yet warm. They offered two pillow options, one soft and one firm. The room's lighting and curtains could be controlled with a single touch panel. The bathroom featured a smart toilet. I especially have to praise the breakfast – the variety was fantastic! They had made-to-order noodles, fresh watermelon juice, and a full spread of local specialties. Honestly, the breakfast was comparable to some JW Marriott hotels.
Suggestion for improvement: The shower faucet for hot and cold water was a bit stiff and hard to turn, so I'd recommend adjusting that. I'll definitely be staying here again next time; the value for money is unbeatable.

Now, where do I begin, first of? if you sre arriving at this place via didi or taxi straight from the airport, do yourself a favour and get dropped off outside and walk to the entrance of the ”hotel”. If you get dropped off inside the underground parking lot, Goodluck to your driver finding the spot to drop you off that connects to the hotels' elevator (its a maze and once u get there, it looks sketchy but its alright).
Now, for the location: the location is superb! You're legit right beside a large mall with Tonssssss of restaurants to eat at even late at night! It is simply very convenient. And if you dont mind walking, there's another mall down south thats about 15mins walk. Lots of things to do.
The lobby, the receptionist were kind and warm. They provided water whenever asked and didn't hesitate to help where they could. The free tea upfront, although we didn't fully utilize, was a nice touch.
Now for the room: we selected the largest room they had which had 3 bedrooms. The price? It was insanely good. Almost unheard of. It was between 50-70 Canadian during the time of booking. I couldn't believe it.
But not all hotels are perfect, and i have to say some of the things i experienced could definitely be improved.
The restroom area had some scent to it that I couldn't point out as to what the smell is. I had to leave the exhaust fan on to ensure a neutral atmosphere. It worked fyi.
The living room: is huge but tell me how there's only a 2-3 people sofa available and one small chair and a table. Its a wasted space. It ought to offer a large lounging furniture at this kind of room. It felt bare.
The windows: simply put, although they installed windows capable of sound deadening, the weather stripping and the latch simply doesnt bond the gaps efficiently. Meaning, coldness of the night still finds its way. Luckily, the hvac system works and the curtains are relatively thick and also automatic (adjust at will).
The beds are ultra clean and the floors were relatively spotless.
But there's honestly one thing that is have to think about if I ever decide to rebook. I personally don't smoke, and i requested for a deodorizing treatment for our room prior to coming. The room itself? It didn't smell like cigarettes which was awesome, but here's something I don't see bring possible to address: at night time, while I lay down and sleep, there is a smell of people smoking cigarettes whose odour is somehow able to travel through the air ducts. Like each and every night, it was the same ordeal. My son didn't say anything, my parents inlaw didn't say anything, but my wife and I, yeah we smelled it.
It isnt like as if you're beside someone smoking cigarettes, but its more like a scent that goes along with the air in the room that suggest someone had smoked, just unsure when.
Other than that, sure, the beds, pillows and comforters were all clean and comfy.
Honestly, my family was OK with the room. The convenience and price is really really hard to beat. Like it is extremely beyond belief affordable. Perhaps id reconsider staying here again if we were in kunming. We'll see.

WWELLCzThis is a well-established five-star hotel in the area, once famous as Kunming's tallest building. During my holiday travels, I passed through Kunming and was deciding between a hotel in a scenic area and the Grand Park Hotel. Considering the potential noise in the scenic area, I chose the latter, and I'm so glad I made that smart decision.
The front desk staff were incredibly warm, attentive, and thoughtful. We had a lot of luggage, and we were fortunate enough to get an upgrade to a corner suite, which completely alleviated our concerns about space.
Both the public areas and the rooms are decorated in a simple yet elegant and stylish manner. The materials used are solid, and the maintenance is impeccable, so it doesn't feel old at all. It truly lives up to its five-star rating.
The room offered expansive views, excellent soundproofing, and was spotlessly clean. The bedding was comfortable and soft against the skin, and the hot water supply was quick and abundant. Coming back after a day of sightseeing and enjoying a relaxing bath in the tub was just perfect.
The location is right next to a subway station, with a direct one-stop ride to the high-speed rail. To the north, it's just one transfer to the Wuyi Road scenic area and commercial district, and to the east, one transfer to the airport. Taxis are also very convenient.
The hotel's facilities are comprehensive. My trip was rushed this time, so I didn't have a chance to experience the pool or other amenities. If I get the opportunity to visit Kunming again, I will definitely choose Grand Park Hotel!

I booked a two-night package with breakfast, only to find out it was barely a few tens cheaper during the May Day holiday. For 600, I ended up in a glorified budget hotel room with a fancy lobby. The small room was one thing, but I couldn't figure out the 'smart tech' aspect. Besides the direct drinking water and electric curtains, what else was smart about it? There wasn't even a smart toilet. The shower stall was incredibly slippery; I almost fell just from the water, let alone adding shampoo and body wash. I looked everywhere for a non-slip mat, but couldn't find one. Anyone showering barefoot needs to be very careful. In the morning, when I swiped my room card for breakfast, they said I didn't have it. I had to ask the front desk to verify, and they said it wasn't recorded – how can such a basic error happen? When they cleaned the room for our extended stay, the 'dedicated' cleaning staff separated our pushed-together twin beds and left a mysterious piece of cloth on the toilet. The trash can was too small, so my fruit container, which I placed next to the toilet, wasn't taken out either. The air conditioning in the room made occasional noises, probably due to a warped metal vent. When I reported it to the front desk, they knew exactly what I was talking about before I even finished explaining – so they know about the noise but haven't fixed it? I don't understand. The gym and pool are supposedly great, but they weren't a priority for us, so we didn't use them. Anyway, I won't be coming back. I'd rather pay a bit more and stay at an InterContinental.
