KKuailechuxing339This is an established hotel in Lujiazui, well-maintained with excellent service. They called me a day in advance and accommodated my request for an early check-in at 12 PM so my child could nap, which was fantastic! A definite thumbs-up. Our room faced the 'Three-piece Suit' (Lujiazui's iconic skyscrapers), and the light show on Shanghai Tower was beautiful. After check-in, a foreign staff member (I forgot her name, but she was lovely) escorted us to our room and even gave my child crayons and a drawing book, which made her very happy. Before dinner at 5 PM, this wonderful staff member took us to the outdoor viewing deck on the 58th floor to enjoy the scenery. Lujiazui, the Huangpu River, and the Bund opposite, all bathed in the sunset glow, were dreamlike and poetic – truly breathtaking. Breakfast offered a wide variety of dishes, both Chinese and Western, and the taste was superb. Enjoying a delicious breakfast while watching the Oriental Pearl Tower sparkle in the sunlight was such a joy. Even my 3-year-old said the hotel was beautiful and wants to come back again!

Dduoduo1982When I first booked this hotel, it was purely for the Bund view from the window. But upon arrival, I was pleasantly surprised! The room exuded an elegant, old-money charm, with thoughtful and meticulous amenities. The TV's screen mirroring worked perfectly on the first try, unlike the constant issues I've experienced at smaller hotels. The bathroom layout was well-designed, and the mini-bar was quite interesting. The bedding was incredibly comfortable, making it feel just like home, and I slept soundly until morning. My child was especially pleased. The location is fantastic – you step right out onto the Bund, and the ferry and cruise terminals are just across the street. Even the restaurant offers Bund views, truly showcasing how well-considered everything is. All the staff we interacted with were clearly well-trained, professional, and impeccable in their service. It was a rainy day during our stay, but the hotel's ambiance completely lifted our spirits, revealing a different kind of beauty. This hotel truly embodies the elegance of Shanghai. I'll definitely miss it and look forward to returning.

GGuest UserOur stay at Banyan Tree Shanghai was truly exceptional from start to finish. We celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary there, and the team made it incredibly special for us. They thoughtfully decorated our room and surprised us with cakes and fruits as a kind gesture. We truly appreciated the effort — it made our celebration even more memorable. Our room was spacious, beautifully maintained, and offered breathtaking views of the city skyline. We especially loved the in-room mini pool — the highlight of our stay was simply relaxing and enjoying a bath while taking in the view. Tales Rooftop Bar was another standout experience. It’s the perfect place to appreciate the stunning city and river views while enjoying drinks. They offer both alcoholic and non-alcoholic options, and we were pleasantly surprised with complimentary snacks as well. Breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of Western and Chinese options. Aside from the buffet selection, guests can also order freshly prepared dishes like noodles and eggs, which are served hot — a wonderful touch. The staff were incredibly professional, welcoming, and attentive throughout our stay. They made us feel valued and were always ready to assist with a warm smile. The overall ambiance of the hotel is peaceful and relaxing, making it a perfect retreat despite being in a vibrant city like Shanghai. We highly recommend Banyan Tree Shanghai and look forward to returning in the future.

It was a little odd that there were gaps at the sides of the mirror that separated the bedroom from the bathroom but it's okay as we were a couple. Breakfast was good and always restocked. I ate bao buns everyday but mashed potato was a rogue breakfast option.

YYinniannianSubtly luxurious and understated, the Waldorf Astoria is absolutely wonderful! A huge thank you to Emily for showing me around the hotel's century-old Shanghai Club – it was truly impressive how well the facilities have been maintained for over 100 years. The jazz music in the bar was also very stylish. Being able to see the Oriental Pearl Tower and the 'Three-piece Suite' (Lujiazui skyscrapers) from my room means the location is unbeatable. My only minor complaint is that breakfast was a bit underwhelming with too few options. Special thanks to concierges Aaron and Danny for their meticulous and thoughtful service. I'll definitely be back!

SSeanchorThis was my first stay at an Andaz hotel, and the location is absolutely fantastic. Xintiandi is just across the street, making dining and shopping incredibly convenient. However, the decor and facilities are quite dated, definitely not up to five-star standards, and the lobby feels a bit low-end. The front desk service on the first day was also just mediocre. On the bright side, the breakfast spread was excellent and made up for the shortcomings in the room facilities. Plus, the mini-bar had complimentary soft drinks and 5100 mineral water. Overall, I'm still quite satisfied with my stay.

GGuest UserI stayed at the Novotel Shanghai Pudong Airport for five nights on a business trip, based on a colleague's recommendation. To be honest, I didn't have high expectations at first since it was a work trip. But I was pleasantly surprised right from check-in when the front desk staff specially assigned me a room facing the sun, which really made my stay perfect. As a solo female traveler, I usually have some reservations, but the room was spacious, bright, comfortably oriented, and exceptionally clean. I felt safe and secure as soon as I entered, with no hint of unease. I'm a bit of a clean freak and quite particular about bedding and hygiene, but the hotel's housekeeping was impeccable. The bedding was neat and comfortable, and even the small details were well taken care of. I usually have trouble sleeping well on business trips because I'm sensitive to new beds, but I actually slept soundly every night here. Moreover, every staff member at the hotel was incredibly warm and welcoming – from the front desk ladies and the cleaning aunties to the uncle at the breakfast restaurant (especially the uncle at the omelet station on the morning of March 25th – thank you! I was just getting a rice noodle soup, and he charmingly suggested a fresh omelet. So much warmth and personality!). The overall experience truly exceeded my expectations; it was an unexpected and delightful surprise. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting for business or leisure near Bicester. It offers an unexpectedly great experience, whether you consider its value for money or the comfort of your stay.
