CCiky2023Our romantic winter getaway began the moment we stepped into Dino Starry Resort, immediately feeling a warm welcome. Unlike a typical hotel's impersonal atmosphere, the staff here felt like old friends, making us feel right at home and completely relaxed. Getting to Disneyland was a breeze with their Mercedes shuttle, which departed at our pre-arranged time. Breakfast was plentiful, and our room was spotless and tidy. The overall environment was lovely, and there were even small animals in the backyard that we could feed for free. The biggest surprise, though, was experiencing authentic winter fun. We gathered around a traditional earthen pot stove, warming ourselves and chatting, or enjoyed a steaming hotpot cooked in a vintage hanging pot. On sunny days, we even had a lively outdoor BBQ with plenty of smoke and laughter. From the rustic charm of the earthen pot to the nostalgic feel of the hanging pot and the vibrant energy of the BBQ, this place had it all. Dino Starry is more than just a place to stay; it's a wonderful space where you can unwind, leave your weariness behind, and relive cherished moments. Come and gather with your loved ones here, and collect a whole winter's worth of warmth amidst delicious food and laughter!

DDingyuanyingI've stayed in many hotels for business trips and vacations, and most of them deserve five-star ratings, especially Mercure. This time, I came to Mercure Hongqiao Central with five-star expectations. Although there were fruit flies in the room and the shower drain smelled, I dealt with them myself and it didn't really affect my mood. That is, until I found out one of the elevators was broken. Waiting for the elevator felt like the morning rush hour in an office building during the week, and I even had to contend with the food delivery robots for space (the elevator still wasn't fixed after two days). Plus, I can't think of any high-rise hotel that only has two elevators. Additionally, I don't know if it's because my Ctrip membership level isn't high enough, but my request for a late checkout at 4 PM was told it would be charged. When I was a Huazhu Platinum member, it was never charged (in fact, there are only a few times a year I need to extend to 4 PM). They said I needed to re-activate my room card at the front desk after 12 PM, but after I had it swiped at the front desk, (and waited for the elevator for a long time) I still couldn't open the room door upstairs... My good impression was slowly worn away. Overall, this experience barely deserves three stars (I wouldn't have even remembered it if the hotel hadn't called afterward asking for a good review). Objectively, the view from the west-facing room was quite good. The golf course diagonally opposite was unobstructed, and there were no tall buildings opposite, so I wasn't afraid to leave the curtains open at night. I could also see planes taking off and landing at Hongqiao Airport. The location was also decent, with many dining options nearby, though it's quite far from the subway station.

GGuest UserThis was my first time staying in a hostel, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience! I was in Shanghai for a concert, and hotels were too expensive, so I booked this hostel just to try it out. The location is superb – right by the Changshu Road subway exit. There are many coffee shops downstairs, and lots of old mansions nearby, with plenty of great places to eat, explore, and do some city walking~ After checking in, a staff member showed me to my room and helped explain the locations of the washrooms, toilets, and showers. The room also came with a set of disposable toiletries. In the common areas, there was always a cleaning lady tidying up, and the restrooms were disinfected after each use, which was incredibly thoughtful! It’s also very close to the Mercedes-Benz Arena, making it convenient to get anywhere! I got back after the concert close to midnight, and there were many girls in the washroom area removing their makeup. I didn't have to worry about safety at all. The female and male washroom areas are far apart, and I didn't see any male guests during my stay, which is great for female travelers. After 11 PM, the hair dryers are put away, and the outlets are locked, so no noise disturbs anyone's rest. The room was very clean. If someone with潔癖 (germophobia) thinks it's clean, then it's *really* clean. The bedding was very comfortable, and climbing to the top bunk was easy. The room wasn't big, but it was just enough for one person, which made me feel very secure. Regarding soundproofing, if you're a very light sleeper, I wouldn't recommend it, as there can be some noise. However, I personally found it fine; I slept very comfortably. I only heard people opening and closing doors, but not sounds from the adjacent rooms. The reception floor has facilities for picking up packages and food deliveries, as well as a common area to relax. It's on a high floor with a great view. There's also a self-service bar for drinks, which I didn't try this time, but I might next time~. Regarding age restrictions, it seems they don't host very young children or very elderly people, but unlike some other hostels, there's no 35-year-old age limit, which is also fantastic! This stay was so good that I almost didn't want to leave this little 'nest'~ I've always wanted to spend more days exploring Shanghai, and next time I visit, I'll definitely consider staying here again. I absolutely loved it! Finally, ending with a checkout photo, because a clean and tidy space is key for a hotel stay~

AAnonymous UserFirst, the positives: the view was excellent, the bedding comfortable, and it offered good value for money. The service was also prompt in responding to issues. Now for the negatives: the hygiene was really poor. There was a visible, thick layer of dust on the floor, next to the bathtub, and on the cabinets. It felt like the room hadn't been cleaned in two weeks. Luckily, after I reported it, they immediately moved me to a new room, which was much cleaner. Secondly, the wallpaper on the TV wall had a long, unsightly wrinkle, which made it look a bit cheap. Also, the showerhead in the bathroom was fixed and couldn't be adjusted, making showering very uncomfortable. There's a clear difference compared to a Waldorf Astoria, but then again, the price reflects that. Overall, it was an average stay, neither outstanding nor terrible.

ZZhaoxianshengIf you're torn between hotels like Shanghai Centre J, Amanyangyun, Bulgari, and The Peninsula for your trip, I have to say The Peninsula's service is comparatively subpar among them. No one will ask you how you'd like your breakfast or if you'd prefer it in your room; they won't even bring it up. I even asked the front desk to temporarily store my takeout, and it was refused, with them telling me to take it somewhere else. I rarely leave neutral or negative reviews, but I genuinely feel the value for money here is very low, and the service is even worse than some Ritz-Carlton or InterContinental properties. It might be okay if you have a soft spot for The Peninsula; the only thing I was satisfied with was the breakfast taste, which met expectations. I wouldn't recommend it for a regular leisure trip. I complain about the InterContinental Sanlitun the most, but I've never given a review like this, so you can imagine, my friend.

JJinganheleStayed here for a trip to Disney, and the shuttle service to/from the airport and Disney was excellent! The front desk service was also quite good. For the late-night snack, they offer congee and noodles with various toppings like minced meat, green beans, and tofu. It was so comforting to have a bowl after a long day at Disney before heading up to rest. However, on the 24th night, around 10:30 PM, I tried calling the front desk multiple times to ask for water to be sent to my room, but no one answered. This is something that needs attention. But this only happened once, and considering it was late at night, I can understand. Overall, still a five-star review!

GGuest UserThis was honestly one of the most memorable hotel stays we have ever experienced. We stayed at The Ritz-Carlton Shanghai, Pudong to celebrate my girlfriend’s 23rd birthday during our first trip to Shanghai together, and the entire experience exceeded our expectations from beginning to end. Before arrival, Assistant Guest Recognition Manager Yana Ivleva kindly communicated with us by email and thoughtfully helped arrange everything for the celebration. Her warmth, professionalism, and genuine care made us feel welcomed even before we arrived at the hotel. The room decoration, birthday cake, handwritten card, flowers, and beautiful Bund view created such a special atmosphere for us. Every detail felt thoughtful and heartfelt rather than simply formal hotel service. The hotel itself was also outstanding — the room condition, cleanliness, facilities, swimming pool, and especially the incredible night view of Shanghai were all amazing. Flair Rooftop Bar was also a wonderful experience for enjoying the skyline and atmosphere. What impressed us the most, however, was the hospitality. Yana and the staff truly made this stay unforgettable for us, and thanks to them, our first trip to Shanghai became a memory we will cherish for a very long time. We are sincerely grateful to The Ritz-Carlton Shanghai, Pudong and will absolutely look forward to returning again in the future.

AAnonymous UserA huge thank you to Deslin for the incredibly thoughtful and attentive assistance during my check-in! From the warm, welcoming smile as I walked in, to patiently explaining the hotel's facilities and the surrounding area, every detail made me feel so comfortable. What moved me even more was how Deslin noticed my travel fatigue and proactively helped me upgrade to a quieter, more comfortable room, even thoughtfully preparing welcome fruit and a heartfelt handwritten note. The check-in process was efficient and smooth, and throughout, Deslin maintained a gentle tone, answering all my questions, which instantly helped me shed all my travel weariness. This genuine care and professional service truly define what it means to feel at home. Kudos to Deslin, and I look forward to meeting such an outstanding person again on my next stay! 🌟

GGuest UserExtremely satisfied! This is one of the most luxurious hotels I've ever stayed in. Coming from the Disney Hotel's executive room, I instantly felt like the money spent here was truly worth it! First, the room is spacious, the bed is super comfortable, and both the lounge area and bathroom are generously sized. The toiletries are Aesop, and the kids' toiletries are also excellent! Second, the breakfast buffet is fantastic, and there's an à la carte menu too – I couldn't get enough of it. Furthermore, the location is superb. You can walk to the Bund, and there are plenty of great restaurants nearby. Also, the concierge service was wonderful and proactive. With lots of luggage and kids, they eagerly helped with transfers to and from the car, saving us from many awkward moments. Overall, the experience was fantastic. I'll definitely stay here again on my next visit!

TThe Lonely TravellerMight I say, our entire stay at the W was marvelous from beginning to end. Upon arrival, we were greeted and helped with our luggage straight yo our room. The staff at the front desk was extremely friendly. She even offered to upgrade us to a room with a better view seeing that we were celebrating and visiting Shanghai for the first time. Each staff seemed to acknowledge our existence all throughout the hotel. This made us feel like extremely important people. Our room was absolutely stunning and oh my was the view ever so perfect. Room service was excellent. Their burger was probably the most delicious. We visited amd stayed in many hotels around China and this one definitely left some beautiful memories. We would highly recommend staying here if ever visiting Shanghai. Every penny spent was worth it.
