The Ritz-Carlton Shanghai, Pudong

It was okay, I guess. But it was a cloudy day so we couldn't see the Oriental Pearl Tower, and the fog was really annoying. The Aura afternoon tea: It was pretty bad, tasteless. I wish we had chosen dinner instead! The photo ops were just alright too.

The room boasts an excellent location, offering direct views of the Lujiazui 'three-piece suit' (Oriental Pearl TV Tower, Jin Mao Tower, and Shanghai World Financial Center). Plus, the IFC Mall is right downstairs, making shopping incredibly convenient.

The hotel is conveniently located in Lujiazui with easy access to transportation and plenty of shopping and dining options nearby. The rooms are clean and tidy, and the facilities are well-maintained and quite new. The overall service felt warm and professional, and the staff were always ready to help. It truly reflects the quality assurance of a luxury hotel.

The room amenities, location, view, and breakfast were all impeccable. The only minor drawback was having to wait for what felt like an eternity to check into four rooms at once. Also, it's a bit of a shame that there wasn't any fabric freshener in the room.

The location is fantastic, and the environment is decent. However, the service was just okay; I had to wait a while to check in, and they also required a deposit. The room facilities weren't anything special, and frankly, it felt a bit overpriced. There's an outdoor platform on the rooftop which is nice to experience. One more thing to note is that the lobby is on an upper floor, while the rooms are located downstairs.

The Executive Room was spacious and airy, with soft, comfortable bedding and exquisite bathroom amenities. The soundproofing was excellent, allowing for a truly peaceful rest. The hotel's location is superb, making getting around a breeze; you can hail a taxi right downstairs. A special shout-out to Jeremy from the Executive Lounge! From check-in to departure, he was attentive and thoughtful throughout. He proactively explained all the lounge benefits, from breakfast and afternoon tea to evening service, arranging everything with meticulous care and warmth. He was quick to respond to any request, demonstrating professionalism and genuine hospitality that made us feel like family. Our experience was perfect, highly recommended!

I messaged them on WeChat beforehand to arrange a birthday setup and a personalized room key, and everything was perfectly arranged on the day of check-in. Upon arrival, Angel personally escorted me to the room, explaining the hotel facilities and the surrounding area along the way. Julie even gave me a small lion keychain. The service was impeccable, and they were very accommodating. Breakfast was on the 52nd floor with an amazing view. A foreign lady in a red suit brought a small birthday cake and arranged a window-side sofa seat for me. Enjoying breakfast while overlooking Lujiazui was a wonderful experience. The room faced the Bund directly, offering an unparalleled view. The pool was well-maintained, and I particularly enjoyed the hot spring area. While the hardware might be a bit older, as the saying goes, 'an old Ferrari is still a Ferrari' – the classic charm and quality are definitely there. Overall, it exceeded my expectations, and I'll definitely choose this hotel again next time I'm in Shanghai.

Even though I came for the custom room card, the service truly exceeded my expectations. Every staff member was incredibly friendly. Our private butler, Daisy, was both comfortable and professional to communicate with. Given it's an older hotel, the interior decor has a classic, old-money style. In the evening, I even saw a rare sunset glow over the Oriental Pearl Tower. All in all, I was extremely satisfied and will definitely stay here again on my next visit.
