DDoudoujiangThe hotel's location is very convenient, the rooms are clean and hygienic, the facilities are relatively new, and the soundproofing is good. The only drawbacks are that the hotel doesn't have a robot delivery service, which makes ordering takeout inconvenient. Takeout left at the front desk isn't automatically delivered to the room; you have to call and request it. Another downside is that the hotel elevator doesn't require a key card to access, so non-guests can enter the guest areas at any time. Overall, the location and facilities are good, but there are still areas that could be improved.

GGuest UserThis was honestly one of the most memorable hotel stays we have ever experienced. We stayed at The Ritz-Carlton Shanghai, Pudong to celebrate my girlfriend’s 23rd birthday during our first trip to Shanghai together, and the entire experience exceeded our expectations from beginning to end. Before arrival, Assistant Guest Recognition Manager Yana Ivleva kindly communicated with us by email and thoughtfully helped arrange everything for the celebration. Her warmth, professionalism, and genuine care made us feel welcomed even before we arrived at the hotel. The room decoration, birthday cake, handwritten card, flowers, and beautiful Bund view created such a special atmosphere for us. Every detail felt thoughtful and heartfelt rather than simply formal hotel service. The hotel itself was also outstanding — the room condition, cleanliness, facilities, swimming pool, and especially the incredible night view of Shanghai were all amazing. Flair Rooftop Bar was also a wonderful experience for enjoying the skyline and atmosphere. What impressed us the most, however, was the hospitality. Yana and the staff truly made this stay unforgettable for us, and thanks to them, our first trip to Shanghai became a memory we will cherish for a very long time. We are sincerely grateful to The Ritz-Carlton Shanghai, Pudong and will absolutely look forward to returning again in the future.

GGuest UserA delightful experience. The hotel's guide, Eve Xiang, gave a wonderful presentation that captivated all the children. What's truly amazing is how, as soon as you turn off the bustling street into the hotel's entrance, the world instantly becomes quiet. The hotel cleverly avoids the main road's noise, creating a peaceful haven. At night, you fall asleep to this tranquility, and in the morning, you wake up to the sounds of birds and flowers, completely unaware of the city's hustle and bustle. The hotel's beauty lies in its details. It doesn't have the ostentatious grandeur of traditional luxury hotels; at first glance, it might seem a bit understated. But once you stay, you discover that every play of light and shadow changes throughout the day. The focus isn't on accumulating symbols of luxury, but on allowing guests to find peace within the space, perfectly aligning with its positioning: 'luxury is personal.' If you're looking to escape the ordinary and immerse yourself in beautiful surroundings, this is the perfect place.

GGuest UserTerrible. Will not stay again. The check-in SOP was unclear, forcing guests to ask multiple questions, even for basic information like breakfast times and location. The room smelled of smoke, possibly due to old or poorly maintained air conditioning. The front desk staff denied there was a smoke smell and only after repeated requests did they show me other rooms, about half of which also smelled of smoke. Their service attitude was both arrogant and perfunctory. The operational procedures were also a mess; for example, after checking in, I found the room didn't even have a kettle and called to request one. Ten minutes later, housekeeping knocked on the door, saying they needed to replace the in-room magazine. It was bizarre to replace a monthly magazine after check-in. The kettle that was eventually delivered was wet inside and out, with a strong disinfectant smell inside. The ice bucket in the room also had water and already smelled foul when opened. The hotel management is riddled with loopholes everywhere; quality is in the details. The hard furnishings like the toilet and bathtub in the room were old, the shower handle was broken, and the water pressure was worse than a 3 or 4-star hotel. The linens were average. However, the bedding and mattress were good.

YYanxiu1010This stay was a fantastic surprise; the front desk upgraded us directly to a suite. The room layout was superb, with a bedroom, a large living room, and a big bathtub. The view was expansive, directly facing the Lujiazui business district (even though it missed the 'three-piece set' of Oriental Pearl Tower, the view was still stunning). 📍Perfect Location: Right outside, you're on the North Bund waterfront. A short walk of a few hundred meters takes you to popular photo spots, and across the river is the Pudong skyline. Nearby, The Drop restaurant and Magnolia Plaza offer convenient dining and shopping options. ✨Exceptional Service: Returning in the evening, we found that housekeeping had thoughtfully turned down the bed, drawn the curtains, and even delivered a complimentary evening drink. This feeling of being well-cared for was wonderful! Many thanks to Deslin and Lily. If you want to enjoy the beautiful Bund scenery, you absolutely shouldn't miss the Banyan Tree. I'll definitely be back again!

AArcherzyhI chose this Pullman for my business trip to Shanghai for a conference. The location was very convenient, making my commute to and from the venue smooth. The room was meticulously cleaned; there was no dust in the bathroom or in the corners around the bed. The mattress was just right, neither too soft nor too firm. The desk in the room had enough space, perfect for organizing my conference materials after meetings. The front desk staff handled check-in efficiently and thoughtfully. The hotel itself was quiet, and the soundproofing was excellent, allowing me to get a peaceful night's rest after a busy day. Overall, the experience exceeded my expectations, and I'll definitely consider staying here again for future conferences.

Iinari86The front desk upgraded me to a top-floor suite for free. The decor was very elegant and tasteful, and the facilities were brand new. The night view of the city skyline was beautiful. I heard that Waldorf uses Aesop toiletries, but the new building I stayed in had Penhaligon's. When checking in, the front desk even brought me iced honey tea, which was delicious and not acidic at all. Now I want to drink it again but don't know where to find it. The concierge who picked me up and delivered my luggage was incredibly attentive and thorough, and the service was really satisfying. If I had to nitpick, the breakfast could be improved, but it still met expectations.

TThe Lonely TravellerMight I say, our entire stay at the W was marvelous from beginning to end. Upon arrival, we were greeted and helped with our luggage straight yo our room. The staff at the front desk was extremely friendly. She even offered to upgrade us to a room with a better view seeing that we were celebrating and visiting Shanghai for the first time. Each staff seemed to acknowledge our existence all throughout the hotel. This made us feel like extremely important people. Our room was absolutely stunning and oh my was the view ever so perfect. Room service was excellent. Their burger was probably the most delicious. We visited amd stayed in many hotels around China and this one definitely left some beautiful memories. We would highly recommend staying here if ever visiting Shanghai. Every penny spent was worth it.

GGuest UserWe booked a suite for our wedding reception to host both sets of parents. When the housekeeping team helped us bring up some of our luggage, they even came along to specifically wish us a happy marriage! I was so touched. Then they adjusted the air conditioning for me because I was decorating and they were worried I'd get hot. They turned it down and even introduced me to the room's mini-bar! Later, they also sent up some fruit for me 😊 It was delicious and so fresh! In the evening, they proactively asked if I wanted turndown service~ The breakfast in the morning was especially good, with seaweed sticky rice cakes, and I even had the Shanghainese specialty 'Shuangdang Soup'! My parents and family all said the dinner banquet was excellent! The seafood received particularly high praise – it was incredibly fresh, the lobster was springy, and the beef cubes were juicy. The two-way roasted suckling pig was also very unique. Everyone in the family was very satisfied, including the wedding cake we ordered at the end; they all said it was better than cakes bought outside. It was a very happy experience.

GGuest UserThe hotel's location is truly unbeatable, right at 789 Nanjing East Road. Step out, and you're directly on Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street, with dining, entertainment, and shopping all just steps away. A fifteen-minute walk takes you straight to the Bund's historic buildings. It's also near People's Square Metro Station, where multiple lines intersect, making it incredibly convenient to get to Yu Garden, Lujiazui, and the Shanghai Museum. Whether you're sightseeing, shopping, or commuting, it saves a lot of travel time. Finding a hotel like this in such a prime downtown location is really rare. The staff, Evelyn, Camille, and Ivy, were incredibly welcoming and gave me many souvenirs. I really love this hotel and stay here often.
