SuiqiiThis was chosen by my boyfriend and me to celebrate our anniversary. First, I'd like to thank the hotel for the room upgrade, decorations, and cake. However, honestly, these are things a hotel of this caliber should be capable of providing.
1. Upon check-in, one of the fruits in the complimentary fruit platter was already rotten. The entire platter looked like it contained sub-standard or leftover items and generally wasn't fresh. After I reported this, the duty manager sent someone to deliver a fresh fruit platter, a bottle of red wine, and a plate of macarons as an apology.
2. When we returned to the hotel at 3 PM, there were no staff members at the hotel lobby entrance. No one opened the car door or helped with our luggage when we got out. 3 PM is peak check-in time for hotels, and even during shift changes, there should be seamless coverage.
3. I ordered some takeout, and the delivery person said I needed to call the front desk for it to be brought up. So, my partner called the front desk twice using the in-room phone. Both calls connected, but no one answered. He then went downstairs to ask the front desk staff if they received his calls. The front desk staff replied that it might be a communication issue with the landline and offered to come up to check, but since he was already downstairs, we felt it was unnecessary.
4. Finally, regarding the turndown service, as a leading hotel in Shanghai, I'm unsure if your turndown service standards don't include desserts or herbal tea. I've stayed at many other similar hotels, and I've never encountered such service. There wasn't even basic water placed on the bedside table, and the drinking water in the minibar wasn't refilled.
After reporting this to the front desk, they said the duty manager would handle it, but it was the turndown service attendant who came, with the excuse that the manager was busy dealing with issues in other rooms.
From the moment the sub-standard fruit was served, the entire hotel experience gave me the impression of complacent staff, poor hotel management, and a tendency to make excuses and be perfunctory.
This is my first time writing such a long review, and these points genuinely affected my mood. Other minor issues, like only water being free in the minibar and soft drinks being charged (which seems petty), or the small complimentary cake tasting like it had been frozen for too long and crumbling easily, were all tolerable.
After checking out, the manager offered a souvenir as an apology and some compensatory measures. The sincerity of the apology was there, but it's genuinely hard for me to choose this hotel again.
Overall, the stay experience was rather average, and the price did not equate to the service we received.

Anonymous UserThe Executive Room was spacious and airy, with soft, comfortable bedding and exquisite bathroom amenities. The soundproofing was excellent, allowing for a truly peaceful rest. The hotel's location is superb, making getting around a breeze; you can hail a taxi right downstairs.
A special shout-out to Jeremy from the Executive Lounge! From check-in to departure, he was attentive and thoughtful throughout. He proactively explained all the lounge benefits, from breakfast and afternoon tea to evening service, arranging everything with meticulous care and warmth. He was quick to respond to any request, demonstrating professionalism and genuine hospitality that made us feel like family.
Our experience was perfect, highly recommended!

Juan juan liA delightful experience. The hotel's guide, Voltaic, was engaging and professional. His explanations of the design philosophy and the sharing of thoughtful details were captivating, even for the children in our group.
What's truly remarkable is how the world seems to quiet down the moment you turn from the bustling street into the hotel entrance. The hotel cleverly avoids the main road's noise, creating a peaceful sanctuary. At night, you drift off to sleep in this tranquility, waking up to birdsong and the scent of flowers in the morning, completely oblivious to the city's hustle and bustle.
The hotel's beauty lies in its details. It doesn't have the opulent grandeur of traditional luxury hotels; at first glance, it might even seem a bit minimalist. Yet, once you settle in, you discover how the light subtly shifts everywhere. The focus isn't on accumulating symbols, but on allowing guests to find peace within the space. Voltaic's guided tour truly brought this spatial aesthetic to life, perfectly embodying the hotel's 'luxury is personal' philosophy. If you're looking to escape the everyday and immerse yourself in beauty, this is an excellent choice. A special thank you to Voltaic for their dedicated service.
I hope they can collaborate with Comico in the future and support this 30-year-old national brand.

Choosing the Banyan Tree Shanghai on the Bund for my birthday was definitely a great decision, no disappointments here! The room was spacious and the river view was absolutely stunning. Lily and Cynthia from the staff prepared a lovely birthday setup and a handwritten card for me, which was so thoughtful and I really appreciated it. This hotel is also perfect for taking photos. Communicating with the hotel via WeChat was super convenient, and I felt really well taken care of. I had such a happy and enjoyable birthday!

ChangshenggongI stayed at the Pullman for a week and had a wonderfully comfortable experience overall. The location is excellent, just a short walk to the subway station, making getting around incredibly convenient. From check-in to daily housekeeping, the staff were consistently polite, courteous, and attentive.
The buffet breakfast offered a rich variety of options, catering to different tastes, and I thoroughly enjoyed my meals every morning. The hotel lobby's greenery and floral arrangements were simply elegant, and the overall environment was quiet and refined. The facilities were well-maintained, and the room was clean and tidy. Even for a longer stay, it never felt dull. This is definitely my top choice for accommodation, and I highly recommend it!

Denden_Explore the worldWhen I was choosing a hotel, I fell in love with the room at the Shanghai Club at first sight, and it certainly didn't disappoint. The room was even more beautiful than I imagined, with meticulously designed details everywhere. It felt exquisite and elegant, perfectly matching the hotel's overall style. The hotel's service was also top-notch – professional and just the right amount of warmth, which made me feel very comfortable. If I had to point out one thing, the room might have been a tiny bit damp, but in Shanghai, and in an old building, that's understandable and didn't affect my stay.
The breakfast options weren't extensive, but there was enough to eat, and the taste was decent, neither outstanding nor poor. The main draw here was definitely the ambiance.
Although I didn't sit at the bar in LongBar, the sofa seating was still an excellent experience. I really enjoyed the 'retro' style of service here.
Perhaps because of the typhoon, there didn't seem to be many guests, which gave me the luxurious feeling of having the space almost entirely to myself.

I brought my child for a stay, and my little one was quite happy with the hotel. A female staff member on the W floor, who was guiding us, also had a great attitude – very warm and proactive in asking if we needed any help.
In the evening, I planned to go to the bar for a drink and enjoy the night view after my child fell asleep. Around 9 PM, feeling a bit cold, I wore the hotel room's bathrobe and room slippers to the bar on the fourth floor for a quick drink, all without leaving the hotel.
Upon entering, they first verified my guest status, and a male server led me in. As we were walking, the staff member told me to go back and change my shoes and that bathrobes weren't allowed.
I paid a high room rate, used the standard hotel amenities, and was consuming within the hotel, so why should I be dictated on what to wear? There were no dress code notifications at all. They didn't inform me upon entry but waited until I was inside to tell me to leave. If there really is such a rule, the hotel has an obligation to clearly communicate it, perhaps by placing a sign where the slippers are provided. What's more, the male server even mentioned they had replacement slippers (these were plastic, not disposable), which clearly indicates they know guests might come in disposable slippers. Are they just trying to make things difficult for people?

We booked a suite for our wedding reception to host both sets of parents. When the housekeeping team helped us bring up some of our luggage, they even came along to specifically wish us a happy marriage! I was so touched. Then they adjusted the air conditioning for me because I was decorating and they were worried I'd get hot. They turned it down and even introduced me to the room's mini-bar! Later, they also sent up some fruit for me 😊 It was delicious and so fresh! In the evening, they proactively asked if I wanted turndown service~
The breakfast in the morning was especially good, with seaweed sticky rice cakes, and I even had the Shanghainese specialty 'Shuangdang Soup'! My parents and family all said the dinner banquet was excellent! The seafood received particularly high praise – it was incredibly fresh, the lobster was springy, and the beef cubes were juicy. The two-way roasted suckling pig was also very unique. Everyone in the family was very satisfied, including the wedding cake we ordered at the end; they all said it was better than cakes bought outside. It was a very happy experience.

Anonymous UserThe hotel's location is absolutely fantastic, surrounded by numerous mall restaurants, making dining and shopping incredibly convenient! Janet, Penny, and Aria all provided exceptionally attentive service! They were warm, thoughtful, and responded quickly – definitely worth praising! The room was comfortable, the bedding clean and soft, and the view was beautiful. For this price, the quality you get is amazing value for money. Next time I'm in Shanghai, Conrad will definitely be my top choice. Highly recommended!!!
