Hotel near Fengxian Development Zone,Shanghai
Kimpton Nine Trees Shanghai is located in Fengxian, the eco-friendly heartland of southern Shanghai. The hotel adjoins the A-level theatre Shanghai Nine Trees Art Center and is surrounded by the 7,000-acre Central Ecological Park, and it is a nature-infused retreat. The hotel features 229 guestrooms .Three distinctive restaurants and bars serve as vibrant social destinations: SOLA & LUNA all-day dining restaurant, inspired by the northern Mediterranean, evokes a sun-drenched coastal spirit; SONG, the signature Chinese restaurant, offers creative Jiangsu-Zhejiang cuisine; ECHO bar draws inspiration from natural caves, inviting guests to escape the ordinary. In addition, the hotel offers light-filled, highly flexible meeting and event spaces for inspired gatherings and social moments. Seamlessly blending modern wellness concepts with Kimpton’s signature playful social spirit, the hotel brings guests a range of novel experiences: EverNine Spa & Wellness (featuring an indoor pool, 24-hour fitness center, and more), an outdoor plunge pool, Nest Kids Club, and Zombilee Pet Park. Here, guests can unwind amidst greenery, recharge through gourmet socializing, and unlock new possibilities in life.

"So lucky! I became the 'top player' at the Kimpton Qiaotou Art Center Hotel! As a parent who loves taking my kids to hotels, I was so excited! It's so close to home! A 10-minute drive, and we can switch into vacation mode with the kids. **Environment**: The transportation is very convenient, right next to the Qiaotou Art Center. It's perfect for families with kids if you're coming for a show or exploring the Shanghai Fish area. The hotel has many outdoor areas, including a beautiful 'mini Monet garden' that really touched me with its details. Fengxian truly excels in its ecological efforts. On rainy days, you can see small snails and frogs, and the kids loved exploring. You can even spot small hedgehogs on the roads around Shanghai Fish. **Facilities**: For family trips, the children's needs are paramount. The hotel has an indoor children's pool. We booked a courtyard hot spring room and got upgraded to a suite. We confirmed with the butler a day in advance that we had two kids, and they thoughtfully prepared children's toiletries and slippers. This attention to detail was truly impressive. The room also had a small step stool and a sink for babies. Due to time constraints, it's a bit of a shame we didn't get to experience the small climbing wall in the children's center or the late-night bar time for parents. **Service**: I have to say, the service is top-notch! Especially our butler, Miss Zhou Ling, who was incredibly gentle and patient. Also, the ladies in the Chinese restaurant were so thoughtful; when our baby fell asleep during dinner, they kindly rearranged the order of dishes. The tiramisu was absolutely delicious. Because our baby was particularly mischievous, the front desk attendant was quick to provide a first-aid kit to disinfect a small wound. In the afternoon, there was a 'social highlight' with juice and cookies, which the babies loved. The evening turndown service attendant was also very kind, and there were afternoon tea snacks, welcome fruits, and cookies. **Hygiene**: It was visibly very clean, which is a big concern with a baby, especially regarding hand hygiene. The toilet layout was quite reasonable. I just wish there were tissues on the tables in the restaurant. The Chinese restaurant had quite a few mosquitoes in the evening, so I hope that can be improved. Even with the electric mosquito repellent plugged in, the mosquitoes in the room were quite resilient. Two small frogs suddenly appeared in the hot spring pool at night, which made the children very sad. I also hope they can add more trash cans in the wet areas of the room. Highly recommended! Highly recommended! Highly recommended! Easy to manage the kids, freeing up your hands – the experience is definitely excellent! The only thing that felt a bit lacking was the all-day dining buffet breakfast. The yogurt selection was a bit repetitive, and the wontons didn't taste particularly fresh. I'm a big food lover. The pizza was creative and unique, perfect for adults. Perhaps my baby was too young for spicy food. The pasta, however, was quite good."

DDjay1231I specifically chose this hotel for my trip, and my experience after checking in was absolutely fantastic, earning it a heartfelt five-star rating. Penny's reception was superb! She even prepared a birthday card, room decorations, and a cake. The hotel's location is excellent, with convenient access to transportation in all directions, making it exceptionally easy for sightseeing, shopping, dining, or commuting for business. Upon entering the lobby, you're greeted by an elegant ambiance; the overall decor is grand yet tasteful, and the public areas are consistently clean and tidy, making a great first impression. The front desk staff are professional and enthusiastic. Both check-in and check-out processes were efficient and quick, with no unnecessary waiting. When asking for directions or seeking assistance, everyone was patient and meticulous in their replies, treating guests with humility and politeness, showcasing their high service standards in every detail. The guest rooms are spacious with excellent natural light and ventilation, and the soundproofing is very effective, providing a quiet retreat despite being in a busy area. Room hygiene was impeccable; tabletops, floors, and bathroom corners were all spotless, with no hidden dirty spots. The bedding is soft and comfortable, and the mattress has just the right firmness. After a day of travel, lying down quickly helps you relax, leading to excellent sleep quality. The room is fully equipped with various facilities; appliances and bathroom amenities are well-maintained and provide an excellent user experience. The hotel's overall atmosphere is warm and pleasant; from the hardware facilities to the soft services, you can feel the thoughtfulness in every detail. My entire stay was comfortable and worry-free, and every aspect was flawless. This excellent hotel has already been added to my top choices, and I will definitely stay here again on my next visit. I sincerely recommend it to all fellow travelers.

AAnonymous UserThe Executive Room was spacious and airy, with soft, comfortable bedding and exquisite bathroom amenities. The soundproofing was excellent, allowing for a truly peaceful rest. The hotel's location is superb, making getting around a breeze; you can hail a taxi right downstairs. A special shout-out to Jeremy from the Executive Lounge! From check-in to departure, he was attentive and thoughtful throughout. He proactively explained all the lounge benefits, from breakfast and afternoon tea to evening service, arranging everything with meticulous care and warmth. He was quick to respond to any request, demonstrating professionalism and genuine hospitality that made us feel like family. Our experience was perfect, highly recommended!

GGuest UserTL;DR: Do not stay here—at least not in our room. The J Hotel has serious sanitation issues, falsely advertises “Bund View” rooms, and responds to legitimate complaints with insulting compensation. This was meant to be a gift for my mother’s final two nights in China; instead, it was my worst hotel experience. 1. Unacceptable sanitation – mud in the tub We stayed in room 9010, a “Grand Suite Bund View.” My mother ran a bath and found mud/sediment in the tub after it filled (photo attached). Maintenance told us this is “common” when the pipe hasn’t been used for two days. That’s false—and even if true, it admits this “luxury” hotel doesn’t clean properly. The mud reappeared the second day. For any hotel this is inexcusable; at over 6,000 RMB/night, it’s disgusting. 2. “Bund View” is a deliberate lie I booked this room specifically to see the Bund and Oriental Pearl Tower lights at night, paying double a standard room. What we got was almost pitch black; on a clear night, it looked like distant fireflies. This wasn’t weather—we saw clear views from the lobby and 120th floor. Staff admitted that every room has privacy film and a secondary glass layer that intentionally blocks outward visibility. They showed us a room five floors above facing the same direction—equally obstructed. If so, the hotel has no business advertising “Bund View.” It’s a marketing lie. We asked for an upgrade; they said I already paid for the best in this tier and the next would cost 10,000+ RMB/night which was too much to comp. We asked for a refund; they refused, claiming no authority. 3. Petty service recovery After complaints of mud and a fake view, a manager offered one extra complimentary breakfast and a 100 RMB minibar credit. We requested two comped breakfasts to feed family members taking us to the airport. They said each breakfast costs 368 RMB and refused the second—screenshot attached. They were polite but chose to nickel-and-dime us. 4. A culture of inflexibility Even minor requests were denied or given runaround: · I asked for a coffee to go 30 minutes after breakfast, specifying a pickup time so ice wouldn’t melt. They said I could only take it immediately upon leaving breakfast. Kitchen blamed front desk; front desk blamed kitchen. · I requested luggage be brought down to match our car arrival. They said it needed 20 minutes, so I had to check out 20 minutes early—causing an awkward wait without a room. These courtesies I’ve received at hotels costing 1/10th the price. At 6,000 RMB, they’re baseline expectations—not favors. We didn’t feel this was a luxury property. It’s a high-rise with expensive decor, dirty pipes, deliberately obscured windows, and management that claims to care but can’t fix real problems. Their final offer of ~$15 and one meal told me exactly how much they value trust and time. Save your money. Book elsewhere. The public-area views are great—and free. The hotel itself is beautiful, with top-notch art and decor, but that doesn’t justify the stay.

AAnonymous UserI originally booked a Deluxe River View Room at The Peninsula, but to my pleasant surprise, I received a complimentary upgrade to a River View Suite! What an amazing bonus! The suite offered a stunning, expansive view directly overlooking the beautiful Bund, creating a fantastic ambiance. The hotel's service was meticulous and attentive, the facilities were top-notch, and the environment was serene and elegant. During the holiday season, I even received some delightful complimentary treats. The whole experience was absolutely fantastic – truly a benchmark in luxury.

FFudaodaliThe river view was unbeatable, but the facilities were a bit old, especially the large bathtub in the middle of the room. The water was constantly warm, making the room feel very hot despite the AC being on – definitely avoid in summer! What was most frustrating was the constant dripping sound all night that wouldn't stop no matter what we tried. 😂 When we reported it to the front desk the next day, their first response was: 'You should have called us in the middle of the night to fix it,' but my child was already asleep! Also, the hotel only moved us to a different room the next day and offered no other apologies or even an extra word. Seriously? 😅

GGuest UserI chose Pullman Shanghai Jing'an for my business trip to Shanghai, and the overall experience far exceeded my expectations ✨. The location is superb, within walking distance to the metro station and Shanghai Railway Station, and you can take the subway directly to the Bund and People's Square. There are plenty of dining options nearby. The lobby is elegant and grand, and the front desk handled check-in efficiently and thoughtfully. The concierge proactively helped with my luggage. The room was spacious, with floor-to-ceiling windows offering city views. The bathroom was clean, odor-free, and featured a separate wet and dry area. The Pullman signature bed was just right – not too soft, not too firm – ensuring a peaceful night's sleep without any noise disturbance. The buffet breakfast offered a full range of Chinese and Western options with fresh ingredients. In my free time, I could relax at the 24-hour gym and heated swimming pool. Accor's five-star quality truly lives up to its name, offering excellent value for money. I highly recommend it for both business and leisure travelers!

FFeizhouxianrenzhang1The Waldorf Astoria, with its Bund river views and proximity to Sichuan Middle Road, provided an absolutely perfect experience thanks to the excellent service from Aaron and Katrina. They patiently helped us plan our local excursions, suggesting lesser-known spots on Sichuan Middle Road and a night tour of the Bund, and even integrated these with the hotel's special dining options, meticulously arranging everything from casual afternoon tea to formal dinners. Their genuine warmth and the surprise parting gift made us feel incredibly welcome. We will definitely choose to stay here again on our next visit to Shanghai.

TThe Lonely TravellerMight I say, our entire stay at the W was marvelous from beginning to end. Upon arrival, we were greeted and helped with our luggage straight yo our room. The staff at the front desk was extremely friendly. She even offered to upgrade us to a room with a better view seeing that we were celebrating and visiting Shanghai for the first time. Each staff seemed to acknowledge our existence all throughout the hotel. This made us feel like extremely important people. Our room was absolutely stunning and oh my was the view ever so perfect. Room service was excellent. Their burger was probably the most delicious. We visited amd stayed in many hotels around China and this one definitely left some beautiful memories. We would highly recommend staying here if ever visiting Shanghai. Every penny spent was worth it.

GGuest UserWe booked a suite for our wedding reception to host both sets of parents. When the housekeeping team helped us bring up some of our luggage, they even came along to specifically wish us a happy marriage! I was so touched. Then they adjusted the air conditioning for me because I was decorating and they were worried I'd get hot. They turned it down and even introduced me to the room's mini-bar! Later, they also sent up some fruit for me 😊 It was delicious and so fresh! In the evening, they proactively asked if I wanted turndown service~ The breakfast in the morning was especially good, with seaweed sticky rice cakes, and I even had the Shanghainese specialty 'Shuangdang Soup'! My parents and family all said the dinner banquet was excellent! The seafood received particularly high praise – it was incredibly fresh, the lobster was springy, and the beef cubes were juicy. The two-way roasted suckling pig was also very unique. Everyone in the family was very satisfied, including the wedding cake we ordered at the end; they all said it was better than cakes bought outside. It was a very happy experience.
