Hotel near North Sichuan Road Commercial Area,Shanghai
Sofitel Shanghai North Bund is located in the heart of North Bund, next to the famous attractions of 1933 Old Field and Music Valley. Hotel offers beautifully appointed rooms with comfortable living areas, musical elements can be seen everywhere in the detailed design, floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the bustling city and river. Le Chanleur All-Day Dining on the 5th floor offers all-day dining. L'Orchestre Lounge bar on the first floor is the perfect place to relax with wine, views and afternoon tea. The hotel is just a few minutes walk from Hailun subway station (Line 4 & 10). Walking distance to The Bund, about 10-minutes ride to the Oriental Pearl Tower, Nanjing Road(E) pedestrian street, the People Squared, Yu Garden, Xintiandi and many famous tourist attractions.

"#Room# The guy who checked me in upgraded my room type. The room was spacious, well-equipped, and the bedding was comfortable. #Service# The response time was quite prompt. If you order takeout at night, remember to call the front desk after receiving the delivery notification from the delivery driver, so the hotel can bring it up to your room promptly. #Location# This is the closest hotel to the First People's Hospital (a 5-minute walk). The inpatient building is so crowded, and private rooms are a resource ordinary people can't get. So this place is quite suitable as a temporary resting stop. #Other# We initially booked for two nights and then extended for another night. The front desk, considering it was typhoon season and ordering takeout would be difficult, thoughtfully provided two complimentary breakfasts, which was a very warm gesture."

My stay this time was incredibly comfortable and pleasant. Gary from guest relations was attentive and thoughtful throughout, promptly responding to all my requests. The laundry service was very efficient, and my clothes came back clean and tidy. In the evening, the turndown service was meticulous, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The room itself was clean and comfortable, and the service from all staff members was professional and warm-hearted. Overall, my experience was excellent, and I will definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit. Highly recommend!

Spending the weekend in Shanghai, I booked the Ritz Pudong because I wanted to take my art-loving child to the Morandi exhibition at the Pudong Art Museum. Later, I found out that the Ritz and Morandi were also doing a collaboration, which was a pleasant coincidence. As a hotel experience enthusiast, I've previously stayed at Ritz properties in Beijing, Tianjin, Nanjing, and Haikou. I have to say, the Ritz's service consistently maintains its high standards. Even before my arrival, Yuna from Guest Relations had already contacted me to pre-arrange check-in details, with a dedicated contact person who noted my personalized requests in advance. The follow-up service after check-in was also very thoughtful; handwritten cards, and fruit and nuts delivered to the room every evening, all showed meticulous care. Upon checkout, we even received a souvenir room key and an exclusive little lion gift, which made my child very happy. While hotel hardware facilities may vary, it's ultimately the service that truly captivates. The Ritz's service has a certain warmth and refinement to it, and I loved it~

This hotel is perfect for families with young children, especially if you have a late flight and no specific plans. It has a pool and an adventure park, which can keep the kids entertained for a good part of the day even after check-out. When you're tired, you can just sit there and order takeout. Plus, it's connected to a mall, so you don't even have to go outside. The breakfast offers a wide variety of options, though it's not particularly gourmet, but for the price, it's acceptable. However, it gets quite busy on weekends with many families, and the front desk can be very hectic, so don't expect to get your room much before 3 PM. Overall, it's still very good value for money.

An absolutely wonderful experience! **Facilities:** Even though it's an older hotel, I was initially worried the facilities might be outdated. But when I arrived, I realized there was no need to worry at all. The overall vibe is one of rich heritage and understated luxury, without feeling old-fashioned. I personally loved it. **Hygiene:** The hygiene was excellent; I didn't notice any issues. **Environment:** Simply fantastic. Both the hotel itself and the guests staying there collectively create an atmosphere that made me feel it was truly great value for money. This is a hotel with genuinely sincere service and a superb location, well worth experiencing. I absolutely loved it.

Not sure where to start! Banyan tree has surpassed every expectation. From the second you step out of your vehicle, they accommodate you inside taking care of all your luggage and offering complimentary tea. The service at the reception was the best we have experienced and we have travelled to a lot of counties. Deslin at reception was the superstar of our experience, she made our transition as smooth as can be, she’s a really good representation of China’s top tier services. Thanks Banyan Hotel, thanks Deslin! Ps: Don’t make the mistake on missing out on the buffet breakfast. Really quality food and unlimited options.

I've been to Shanghai several times, and this is by far the most satisfying! It's been ages since I last woke up naturally, but this time, I actually slept until I was called! I have to say, the bedding in this hotel is incredibly comfortable; I'm seriously tempted to buy their pillows! The breakfast is also exceptional, with both Shanghainese and English options. I chose the English breakfast, and the portion was generous and delicious! Plus, there are customizable dishes! You absolutely *must* book a room with breakfast! On top of that, the staff are very enthusiastic, and the hotel environment is excellent! Even someone like me, who rarely writes detailed reviews, has to say a few extra words!

The most delightful stay of our trip! The hotel is very close to the Bund, so we could take leisurely strolls along the river and soak in the Shanghainese charm. The room was clean and comfortable, with thoughtful touches everywhere. Our dedicated concierges, Echole and Vicky, provided gentle and impeccable service. At night, we could enjoy the dazzling night view of the Bund, taking in all the romance of this magical city. It's truly a rare and wonderful memory of our stay in Shanghai. I particularly loved the century-old elevator – pulling the iron gate felt like traveling through time, very cool! It would be perfect if there was an extra spot in the restroom to place a phone.

Andaz Xintiandi Shanghai, by Hyatt

I’ve been a loyal guest at Andaz Xintiandi Shanghai for quite some time, drawn back again and again by the genuinely warm service, attention to detail, and the way the team always makes me feel recognised and valued. Unfortunately, this stay was a sharp departure from everything I’ve come to love about the hotel, solely because of one check-in experience that left a very bitter taste. I had noted in advance during booking that I would prefer a high-floor corner room – not a demand, simply a preference that in the past has often been thoughtfully accommodated when availability allows. Upon arrival, I approached the reception and was assisted by Iris. I handed over my passport, and she confirmed the length of my stay. When I politely asked if a corner room might be possible, her response was cold and curt: she told me I had booked a regular king room, that she would not upgrade me, and that if I wanted such a room I should pay more. No smile, no warmth, no attempt to soften the refusal. It was less what she said and more how she said it – she made me feel embarrassed, almost as if I were being put in my place for even asking, as though booking a standard room somehow meant I couldn’t afford better. At a hotel of this calibre, I don’t think any guest should be made to feel that way. Still taken aback, I was then asked whether I wanted a room near the elevator or not. Already unhappy with the interaction, I said it didn’t matter. She then assigned me what can only be described as the worst possible room – directly next to the elevator on the 16th floor. When I saw the location, I was genuinely shocked. I went straight back down and told her I didn’t want to sleep next to the elevator, and she eventually moved me to a higher floor. Throughout the entire process, there was not a single smile, no “enjoy your stay” – nothing that even remotely resembled hospitality. I left the desk feeling like an inconvenience. It’s worth mentioning that based on the room rates and availability that day, the hotel was absolutely not fully booked, so this wasn’t a case of simply having no better rooms to offer. It felt like a deliberate lack of care, and it stung particularly because it came from a hotel where I’m used to staff remembering my preferences and quietly making each long stay a little more comfortable – not because I expect a free upgrade, but because that thoughtfulness is what makes a regular guest feel truly welcome. A standard room has always been perfectly fine; it’s the attitude and the willingness to accommodate small preferences that made me appreciate this place so much. This time, that spirit was completely absent at check-in. What makes this all the more frustrating is that every single other staff member I encountered – and there were many, too many to name – was excellent, friendly, and professional, just as I’ve always known them to be. One day during my stay, I had lunch at the lobby bar, and both the food and service were wonderful. On my departure day, I didn’t even bother with a formal checkout; I simply handed my key to the lady at the reception desk and left. The doorman was, as ever, kind and exceptionally helpful with my luggage. These are the people who reminded me why I keep coming back. I really do hope the hotel takes this feedback to heart. One person’s attitude at the front desk can undo months of goodwill built by an otherwise outstanding team. I’ll return, because I know what this hotel is truly capable of, but I sincerely hope my next welcome feels like a welcome again.

We’ve been staying in the Cool corner room 3 of us with my 8yo son for three nights. Room was perfect, design was exciting, the extravagant room/bathroom combination is stunning. Breakfast was offering 5star quality options for kids as well. No better place to take photos about Shanghai skyscrapers and the Bund. We understand the outdoor pool closes early as it’s just next to the bar, but it was difficult to explain to my son ;-) Easy transportation, DiDi or metro just right at the door, also there are many options for dinner in the hotel or nearby.

I’m so glad I chose the Mehood Elegant Hotel. It was the perfect location — close to everything, not too crowded, yet not too remote either. I traveled solo with my 14-month-old toddler, and he was absolutely spoiled by all the hotel staff. Everyone treated us with so much kindness and care. Jerry checked us in and out and even gave me a cute fridge magnet. The breakfast was delicious with so many options to choose from, the rooms were cleaned daily, and bottled water was always replenished. Xiao Jun also took great care of us, and Yinhe Juan felt like an auntie to us. We looked forward to seeing them every morning at breakfast. They all made my stay feel so warm and welcoming — truly like a home away from home. I’m incredibly grateful for their hospitality, and if I ever find myself back in Shanghai again, I’ll definitely be booking Mehood. PS: the view from my room was incredible!
