I stayed at Moyu Movie Hotel Shanghai for 7 nights, and I had an excellent experience. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help. They even accepted my Taobao packages, which made my stay much more convenient.
The housekeeping service was outstanding. My room was cleaned every day without me having to request it. The room was spacious, spotless, and very comfortable. I especially loved the modern automatic toilet, and the shampoo and body wash smelled wonderful.
Another great feature was the free self-service laundry, and they even provided free laundry detergent, which was a huge bonus for a longer stay.
The location is also very convenient. The hotel is close to the MRT station, making it easy to get around Shanghai. It is also only about a 15-minute walk to the LV The Place (LV Ship), which is a great spot to visit.
Overall, I was extremely satisfied with my stay. Everything exceeded my expectations, and I would definitely choose Moyu Movie Hotel Shanghai again when I visit Shanghai. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable, and conveniently located place to stay.

We had such an amazing experience at this Disney hotel, and I truly feel like this property deserves every bit of praise. My husband, our 6 kids, and I traveled all the way from Orlando, Florida in America, and after such a big trip, staying somewhere this welcoming, clean, and well-run meant so much to us. From the moment we arrived, the staff made such a strong impression on me. Every single person we interacted with was incredibly kind, welcoming, patient, and genuinely helpful. It did not feel fake or forced at all, it felt like they truly cared about making sure our stay was comfortable and special.
One thing I really want to mention is that even with us traveling from America, the language barrier was honestly not hard at all when dealing with the staff. That was something I truly appreciated. Everyone was so kind, so patient, and so willing to help that communication never felt stressful. They made everything feel easy and comfortable, and that meant a lot, especially traveling with a big family and small children. No matter what we needed, they did their best to help us understand and made sure we felt taken care of. That level of effort, patience, and kindness goes a very long way, and they really made us feel welcome.
The staff went above and beyond in so many little ways, and those things really added up. Any time I had a question, needed help, or wasn’t sure about something, someone was there with a smile, ready to help without hesitation. That kind of service stands out, especially when you are traveling with family, and it made such a huge difference for us. They were not just “nice” .They were the kind of staff that makes you stop and think, wow, these people really care. You can feel when people are just doing a job, and you can also feel when people are truly making an effort to give guests a great experience. This staff absolutely did that.
Now let me talk about the cleanliness, because honestly this is one of the cleanest hotel properties and rooms I have ever seen in my life. I do not say that lightly. The moment we walked in, everything looked absolutely spotless. Not just tidy, not just “good enough,” but truly immaculate. The room looked fresh, polished, and cared for in a way that is hard to explain unless you see it for yourself. Every surface looked pristine. The floors were clean, the bathroom was shining, the bedding felt fresh and perfectly maintained, and the entire room gave that rare feeling of being deeply, properly cleaned.
There was not that uneasy hotel feeling some places have where you start wondering what has or has not really been cleaned. This place felt the complete opposite. It felt sanitized, refreshed, and cared for to the highest standard. The room was so clean that it immediately made us feel comfortable enough to fully relax. When you are staying with children, cleanliness matters even more, and this hotel absolutely exceeded expectations. I noticed the details, and the details matter. The bathroom was spotless, the beds looked crisp and fresh, the furniture was clean, the floors looked amazing, and the whole room felt like it had been cleaned with real care and pride.
Even beyond the room itself, the entire property was unbelievably clean. That is what impressed me so much. Usually a hotel might have a nice room, but the hallways, common areas, elevators, or grounds do not always match that same level of care. Here, the cleanliness was consistent everywhere. The entire property was beautifully maintained, and you could clearly tell that cleanliness is taken seriously at every level. Everything looked so well-kept, so polished, and so intentionally maintained that it honestly made the whole stay feel even more luxurious and relaxing.
It is such a good feeling to be able to fully settle in and enjoy your stay without noticing dirt, neglect, or things being overlooked. This hotel gave us that peace of mind completely. You can tell there is real effort behind the scenes to keep ever

Guest UserThe service was excellent; I arrived at the hotel in the morning, and they allowed early check-in. The location is superb, within walking distance of Yu Garden and the City God Temple, and also walkable to the Bund and Nanjing Road. Yu Garden is less than a 10-minute walk away. Nearby, at Gangcheng Mingdu, you can find Haidilao hot pot and mala tang. There's also a convenience store just over the overpass. When I returned to the hotel in the evening, there was supper available. The self-service laundry was very convenient, and the lobby offered free herbal tea and hot tea. A great bonus was the shuttle service to Yu Garden, the Bund, Xintiandi, and Yunnan Road Food Street.

fionho78The hotel's location is truly exceptional, nestled by the Suzhou Creek on the North Bund, right next to the historic Waibaidu Bridge. It offers panoramic views of Lujiazui and the iconic Bund skyline. The hotel's understated Baroque luxury seamlessly blends with the neoclassical style of the Bund, exuding sophisticated elegance.
The hotel lobby is a grand affair, featuring a massive crystal chandelier, soaring ceilings, and a majestic marble staircase. Adorned with captivating artworks and sculptures, it feels like an immersive art space – a perfect blend of vintage charm and modern sophistication. Every corner speaks of prestige and refinement. Our room was incredibly comfortable and spacious, with exquisite design and meticulous attention to detail. Both the room's size and amenities were simply perfect.
Breakfast is served on the second floor in the Western restaurant, which boasts expansive views. Every table offers a glimpse of the Suzhou Creek and the Bund, making it wonderfully comfortable and relaxing to enjoy breakfast by the window while watching the river.
The only minor drawbacks were the slightly large gap under the shower door, which could lead to water spilling out if the showerhead was pointed incorrectly. Also, the buffet selection at breakfast wasn't particularly extensive, and there were limited bread options. However, the à la carte menu was quite good. Overall, our stay was very satisfying.

Guest UserDue to the recent Typhoon Dolphin, I opted for a staycation at Kerry Hotel Pudong by Shangri-La.
Upon arrival, there was no assistance from the bell staff or porters.
During checkin, The receptionist handed me a small slip of paper which, at first glance, I assumed was some sort of advisory regarding Typhoon Dolphin. Upon closer inspection, I realised that this tiny, thin and flimsy piece of paper was actually the Kerry Club welcome letter.
I found this genuinely surprising. A Club welcome letter is one of the first touchpoints for premium-room guests and would normally be presented on proper stationery. Instead, this looked more like a piece of scrap office paper I would use to test whether a pen still had ink.
More importantly, the receptionist did not explain my Club benefits. There was no explanation of breakfast hours, breakfast venue, hotel facilities, checkout time, Club Lounge opening hours or other Club privileges. There was not even a simple introduction along the lines of, “You have been assigned a park-facing room on the Club floor.”
As a result, when I entered my room on Level 25, I was initially rather confused.
My first impression was that the room felt noticeably dated and I genuinely could not tell whether I had actually been assigned a Club Room.
I was not sure if it was one.
There was no Club welcome letter placed on the desk, no welcome amenity and no Nespresso machine. In its place were several packets of instant coffee. Even the complimentary bottled water was the basic Coca-Cola-owned Chun Yue (纯悦) brand.
At that point, the sign along the corridor was the clearest indication I had received that this was a Club-level stay. Not a great first impression.
However, it did get better from there, since I discovered that John Masters toiletries were available in the bathroom, which were nice to use, and I was in fact placed in a high floor room that overlooked century park and I could see the lovely view of the 3 iconic skyscrapers of Shanghai.
The housekeeping team were amazing, the longest I waited was just 30 minutes after I had requested items, and they were checking in on whether I needed anything during the turndown service, they were also incredibly friendly and polite. The room was also immaculately cleaned. Truly 5 stars!
The lounge was also great - evidenced by the amount of people using it during my 3 nights here at this hotel- the lounge was always busy. The evening cocktail service served beyond the usual typical hors d'oeuvres, and was more like a simple dinner buffet. The main dish on my last night - Beef Biryani was really good, and quite authentic in my opinion. It was good by club lounge food standards. The club lounge staff were also excellent. I remember a Caucasian male staff member — unfortunately, I did not get his name or position — who spoke fluent English, answered my queries clearly and resolved any issues I had promptly. Kudos to him!
The gym was so huge and well equipped that I thought I had walked into an expensive commercial gym a la FitnessFirst or Virgin Active. The pool was also large with 5 swimming lanes.
Back to the room. The bed was quite hard. On the positive side, the air-conditioning remained strong, quiet and effective despite the age of the hotel.
The bathroom was probably where the age of the room was most apparent. There was no rain shower or bidet. Some of the floor tiles near the entrance also appeared to be loose, as I could hear and feel slight movement beneath them whenever I walked in and out.
Check-out was brisk and straightforward. This time, a member of staff proactively assisted me with my luggage, loaded my bags into my DiDi and helped with the car door.
Overall, I believe Kerry Hotel Pudong remains a good choice for business travellers who need to be close to the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC), Huamu or other parts of Pudong.
However, I would rate its value for money as merely average.

Stepping into the room, I was immediately greeted by the towering 'Huangpu River Four-Piece Set' (referring to the iconic skyscrapers) outside the window. Sitting on the sofa, the Huangpu River unfolded before me like a dynamic scroll painting.
The bedding was incredibly soft and delicate; I instinctively wrapped myself tightly in the duvet. The Aesop pine-scented amenities were elegant and long-lasting, perfectly matching the Waldorf's style. The walk-in closet was well-designed and practical.
I had bought some 'Ice Beauty,' 'Goddess,' 'Pink Iron Cannon,' and 'Orange Dream' flowers, and was using the room's trash can as a makeshift vase. The thoughtful Nini noticed and kindly replaced it with a beautiful glass vase. 👍
Aaron and Katrina provided meticulous and attentive service.
It was a great 4-day experience. I'll definitely be back.

sainanyThe river view is absolutely stunning, with large windows directly overlooking the Huangpu River – a top-notch view! There's a huge 3-meter bed, and a long sofa chair by the window that could easily sleep two more people. This room would be super comfortable for a family trip. Both the shower and bathtub in the bathroom are great, with excellent water pressure. The staff were all very warm and helpful, and everything was just perfect. I'll definitely be back!

Guest UserThis particular room we got was only big enough for one person in my opinion. We however had a very comfortable sleep on the beds.
The staff was very friendly and the location was ideal.Inside the lobby area, you are able to make tea or coffee throughout the day. There are many restaurants and shops nearby. I would recommend this place.

De GiorgiOur stay has been a pleasure. The room is well furnished with all the essentials needed for an holidays of more than one day (fridge, washing machine and dryer). The beds are very soft and there is enough room for luggages. Our room is located in the French concession quarter, an interesting area with a lot of nice restaurants for all the budgets, convenience store and coffee.
The service is very kind and helpful: the host has created a weChat group for us, with all the staff to answer our needs, and they provided us all the information days before the checking, ensuring that everything was clear. They bought us also water bottles for our stay.
Few negative points to be discussed: the road in which our room (named Rome or ”Luoma”) is located is in a secondary street, unfortunately full of poor maintained house. When we saw the main entrance of the building we thought we were being scammed, since it was a mess with mold and falling paints from the wall, garbage and boxes. Fortunately the room is completely different!
Another negative point are the windows that are super thin. Even if closed, you can hear everything from the road (the last night the neighbour were arguing for more than 1 hour and we could hear everything. It was like they were with us in the room!).
The curtains are ok for the privacy, but not for the light: at 5 am the light of the sun was so strong that we needed to use eye masks to be able to sleep a little more.
In general, our staying has been very pleasant and we suggest it! We hope that the host fix soon the few negative points
