JJH29We booked a family room and had a very pleasant stay. The hotel is in a fantastic location, less than a 5-minute walk from Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street. The metro station (Lines 1, 2, and 8) is conveniently located just across the road, making it easy to travel around Shanghai. One feature we especially appreciated was the self-service laundry facility, which is very useful for longer trips. During check-out, we were assisted by Frank Wang, who provided exceptional service. He helped store our luggage, arranged an airport transfer for us, and even offered complimentary ice creams to both of our children. His warm hospitality and attentiveness truly made a positive impression on our family. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely return on our next visit to Shanghai. Highly recommended! 😊

GGuest UserThis was honestly one of the most memorable hotel stays we have ever experienced. We stayed at The Ritz-Carlton Shanghai, Pudong to celebrate my girlfriend’s 23rd birthday during our first trip to Shanghai together, and the entire experience exceeded our expectations from beginning to end. Before arrival, Assistant Guest Recognition Manager Yana Ivleva kindly communicated with us by email and thoughtfully helped arrange everything for the celebration. Her warmth, professionalism, and genuine care made us feel welcomed even before we arrived at the hotel. The room decoration, birthday cake, handwritten card, flowers, and beautiful Bund view created such a special atmosphere for us. Every detail felt thoughtful and heartfelt rather than simply formal hotel service. The hotel itself was also outstanding — the room condition, cleanliness, facilities, swimming pool, and especially the incredible night view of Shanghai were all amazing. Flair Rooftop Bar was also a wonderful experience for enjoying the skyline and atmosphere. What impressed us the most, however, was the hospitality. Yana and the staff truly made this stay unforgettable for us, and thanks to them, our first trip to Shanghai became a memory we will cherish for a very long time. We are sincerely grateful to The Ritz-Carlton Shanghai, Pudong and will absolutely look forward to returning again in the future.

ZZhaoxianshengIf you're torn between hotels like Shanghai Centre J, Amanyangyun, Bulgari, and The Peninsula for your trip, I have to say The Peninsula's service is comparatively subpar among them. No one will ask you how you'd like your breakfast or if you'd prefer it in your room; they won't even bring it up. I even asked the front desk to temporarily store my takeout, and it was refused, with them telling me to take it somewhere else. I rarely leave neutral or negative reviews, but I genuinely feel the value for money here is very low, and the service is even worse than some Ritz-Carlton or InterContinental properties. It might be okay if you have a soft spot for The Peninsula; the only thing I was satisfied with was the breakfast taste, which met expectations. I wouldn't recommend it for a regular leisure trip. I complain about the InterContinental Sanlitun the most, but I've never given a review like this, so you can imagine, my friend.

AAnonymous UserA huge thank you to Deslin for the incredibly thoughtful and attentive assistance during my check-in! From the warm, welcoming smile as I walked in, to patiently explaining the hotel's facilities and the surrounding area, every detail made me feel so comfortable. What moved me even more was how Deslin noticed my travel fatigue and proactively helped me upgrade to a quieter, more comfortable room, even thoughtfully preparing welcome fruit and a heartfelt handwritten note. The check-in process was efficient and smooth, and throughout, Deslin maintained a gentle tone, answering all my questions, which instantly helped me shed all my travel weariness. This genuine care and professional service truly define what it means to feel at home. Kudos to Deslin, and I look forward to meeting such an outstanding person again on my next stay! 🌟

GGuest UserExtremely satisfied! This is one of the most luxurious hotels I've ever stayed in. Coming from the Disney Hotel's executive room, I instantly felt like the money spent here was truly worth it! First, the room is spacious, the bed is super comfortable, and both the lounge area and bathroom are generously sized. The toiletries are Aesop, and the kids' toiletries are also excellent! Second, the breakfast buffet is fantastic, and there's an à la carte menu too – I couldn't get enough of it. Furthermore, the location is superb. You can walk to the Bund, and there are plenty of great restaurants nearby. Also, the concierge service was wonderful and proactive. With lots of luggage and kids, they eagerly helped with transfers to and from the car, saving us from many awkward moments. Overall, the experience was fantastic. I'll definitely stay here again on my next visit!

TThe Lonely TravellerMight I say, our entire stay at the W was marvelous from beginning to end. Upon arrival, we were greeted and helped with our luggage straight yo our room. The staff at the front desk was extremely friendly. She even offered to upgrade us to a room with a better view seeing that we were celebrating and visiting Shanghai for the first time. Each staff seemed to acknowledge our existence all throughout the hotel. This made us feel like extremely important people. Our room was absolutely stunning and oh my was the view ever so perfect. Room service was excellent. Their burger was probably the most delicious. We visited amd stayed in many hotels around China and this one definitely left some beautiful memories. We would highly recommend staying here if ever visiting Shanghai. Every penny spent was worth it.

GGuest UserService: I really appreciate Mr. Chen Xintong, the hotel's Room Manager. His service was impeccable and very thoughtful. He arranged a complimentary room upgrade for us and helped us book the hotel's buffet. The teppanyaki chef at the restaurant is incredibly skilled; dishes like the 'Lekoufu' cake and the 'drunken' crayfish were as outstanding as everyone raves about! Hygiene: The housekeeping auntie was very meticulous in cleaning our room, and the manager even double-checked to ensure everything was up to standard. Environment: The hotel environment is quite good, especially the evening atmosphere at the lobby bar with live music. Facilities: The facilities are a bit dated, which is understandable since the hotel opened in 2013. Also, having to go downstairs personally to pick up food deliveries is a bit inconvenient. I'd suggest improving this with robot delivery.

GGuest UserOverall, it was a fantastic stay. The location in Jing'an Temple is very convenient. This 40-year-old hotel still feels solid, steady, and radiant. The hardware truly reflects the pursuit of quality in hotel design from the last century – details like the shower grab bar, the double shower curtain, and the sturdy showerhead. I stayed on the 30th floor, and both the water temperature and pressure were excellent. This kind of attention to detail is rare to see nowadays, especially after the real estate boom and the proliferation of five-star hotels in the last decade. The room furniture and decor transport you back to an era of unique craftsmanship and meticulous artistry. The lobby is airy, spacious, and grand, and the Western restaurant boasts a bright atrium with a charming stream – spatial designs like these are hard to find today. Customer service was very responsive, indicating that the staff is well-manned and professional. My only minor feedback is that the female staff at the front desk all appeared to be without makeup; it would be nice if that could be improved.

GGuest UserFantastic stay from start to finish! The hotel is in an excellent location, with convenient access to attractions, shopping, and dining options. The room and facilities were spotless, well-maintained, and very comfortable throughout my stay. A special mention goes to Kylie at the front desk, who provided exceptional service and went above and beyond to make my stay enjoyable. She was warm, professional, and always willing to assist with any request. Her attentiveness, helpful recommendations, and genuine hospitality truly made a difference and reflected the high standards of the hotel. Combined with the excellent cleanliness, great location, and outstanding customer service, this was one of the best hotel experiences I’ve had. I highly recommend this hotel and would not hesitate to stay here again.
