We had a wonderful stay at Park Avenue Rochester for two nights. My husband and I truly enjoyed our experience. The staff were incredibly kind, attentive, and always ready to help with anything we needed. Their hospitality made our stay very comfortable and stress-free. What impressed me the most was their honesty and care. I accidentally left some very important documents in our hotel room when we checked out. The staff were so gracious and responsible, they kept the documents safe for me until my husband was able to return a week later to pick them up. I’m very grateful for their help and integrity. Thank you to the whole team for the excellent service. We will definitely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area.

The room was fully equipped with a direct drinking water tap, bathrobes, and nice cups. I appreciated that they didn't have too many disposable items, and even the trash cans didn't have plastic bags, which shows a great commitment to environmental protection 👍. The lighting design was perfect, and the bedding was clean, tidy, and comfortable. I used to stay in the Jinghua family room, which was very spacious, but now that my child is in boarding school, I switched to this hotel because it's very close to the school. The space here is a bit cramped, and the price isn't cheap. Not getting a twin bed was a bit uncomfortable; as you get older, twin beds are better for undisturbed sleep. The view from the top-floor window was quite beautiful. I didn't have time to enjoy the hotel facilities or even see the infinity pool 🤣. Having to check out before 11 AM was a bit rushed. I had to go to the school's opening ceremony in the morning and quickly left my luggage at the front desk for storage. It was a shame I couldn't even take a shower when I rushed back at noon 😢. I even fell asleep on the sofa in the lobby 😴😂. This hotel was really only used for sleeping, so the experience was just so-so, and the Chinese service was mediocre.

The room was comfortable and well-equipped. The front desk staff were really helpful and spoke Chinese, which was a huge plus. The location is super convenient; there's a simple restaurant just to the left downstairs. It's also only about a ten-minute walk to the subway station and a shopping mall. I'd definitely be happy to stay here again on my next visit.

The hygiene was acceptable, and the facilities were quite basic. The bathroom was small and didn't have a separate wet/dry area. However, the price and location advantages make it very worthwhile to stay, especially since it's so convenient for getting to NUS.

If you're visiting Sentosa, the hotel's location is absolutely fantastic! There's a bus stop right outside, and it's only two stops to Vivo City, where you'll find plenty of dining options, the MRT, and the Sentosa Express. The hotel breakfast is quite basic, so I wouldn't recommend buying it. Vivo City, just two stops away, has an overwhelming variety of delicious and affordable food. You can grab brunch there, head straight to Sentosa Island, enjoy your day, come back for dinner, and then return to the hotel – truly a perfect day. Facilities: The hotel facilities are decent. We were given the last room down the hallway, but unfortunately, the soundproofing is poor, and we were consistently woken up at 7 AM by doors closing in other rooms. Hygiene: Cleanliness was okay. It's a tropical country, so a few small ants are to be expected and acceptable. Service: The front desk staff were all incredibly nice. We booked a king room, and they were kind enough to provide two single duvets, which many other hotels often can't accommodate – a huge thumbs up for that! The front desk spoke fluent Mandarin, making check-in a breeze, and no deposit was required.

The room was on level 1 which is ground floor. It was a nicely setup room. Although, I’ve never slept in a hotel room with a full size, always lit EXIT sign which some people would struggle to sleep with. Anyone someone flushed the toilet or took a shower you could hear the water running as the waste pipe was in the vent in the ceiling. Vending machine outside was useful, $1.30SGD for a drink.

Although the room was small, it was incredibly well-designed and efficient – I was really impressed by how cleverly they utilized the space! A significant portion was dedicated to the bathroom, ensuring a comfortable shower experience. There was even a spot to hang clothes for drying, and the bed was electric. The hotel front desk was very helpful in arranging a taxi for me, and their attitude was excellent. Getting around was a breeze; I just picked up a transit card at the airport, and then I could go wherever I pleased without any hassle.

Staying in Singapore has certainly been an experience, and overall, it was quite… unique 😅 First, the pros: 1. **Convenient Location**: It's about 900 meters from Harbourfront Vivocity, roughly a 10-minute walk. 2. **Affordable Price**: At 625 RMB per night (weekend rate, slightly higher than weekdays) including tax, this is considered quite cheap in Singapore, where prices are sky-high 😅. 3. **Cleanliness**: The room was very clean and well-maintained, as expected from a chain brand. Now for the cons: First, the room is tiny, definitely less than 13 square meters. The actual usable space, including the bathroom, is only about six or seven square meters. Second, I honestly didn't understand what ”1 double bed measuring 1.31 meters” meant at first. After checking in, I realized that 1.31 meters was the total width of *two* beds! Divided by two, each bed was only 0.65 meters wide 😅. Honestly, this is the narrowest bed I've ever slept in 😅. I didn't think much of it and just lay down, but in the middle of the night, I almost fell off the bed when I turned over. I had to get up and push the two beds together to be able to continue sleeping, albeit uncomfortably, due to the large, sunken gap in the middle. Also, I don't know who keeps them, but there are several chickens in the green belt outside, and they started crowing incessantly before 7 AM. It feels a bit out of place for a business hotel to have chickens outside, not quite fitting with Singapore's sophisticated, elite image, haha 😅. Another experience related to ”cultural differences”: The hotel doesn't provide bottled water. There's a ”drinking water” sign on the bathroom faucet, but I didn't dare drink it, haha 😅. Luckily, I brought two bottles of water myself (500ml + 600ml), which I managed to make do with for a day and a half. Plus, there was a 600ml bottle of mineral water on the Aeroline bus on the way back the next evening. This saved me money on buying water in Singapore (not including a coconut shake and a durian cendol I bought the next day). Singapore is really hot and humid. The sun is scorching during the day, and walking outside feels like being roasted alive 😅. Restaurants and food courts don't provide free hot or cold water. Water might indeed be a scarce resource here, which I can rationally understand 😅.

Staff was great, service was great but the amenities, the air-conditioning or something in the room gave off a random high pitch noise. Similar to tinnitus it was tolerable the first day but by the 2nd day it would be there and throughout the night. The headache from it was not please at all. I’ve never been one to leave a review but I’m sorry the sound was just too piercing. I believe it may have just been the room and not the entire establishment

Modern and clean hotel, located in the serene Rochester area near to Buona Vista MRT station. I like that it doesn’t have many tourists or families with children, which makes it more ideal for peaceful staycations. The pool is overshadowed by tall surrounding buildings, so it’s not suitable for those who enjoy sunbathing.

EEmily1020The hotel's location next to a mall is quite good. However, the service was a major letdown. When we entered our room, we realized it didn't match the photos on Trip.com, and it was actually one half of a connecting room. So, we went downstairs to the front desk. The Singaporean lady who checked us in initially was polite, but then a Filipino individual, who seemed to be a supervisor, became very arrogant. They first claimed that room type was sold out, then said we had checked in after 7 PM – which was ridiculous. In the end, they gave us another room, but it still wasn't what we booked. Since we had a child with us, we decided to just make do. Upon entering that room, we discovered the showerhead wasn't properly installed, so we had to call maintenance to fix it. There was no turndown service at night, and despite the menu listing various pillow options, none were available when we asked. We eventually had to complain to Trip.com, and thankfully their customer service was very responsive. I honestly wouldn't recommend this hotel for a family vacation; you'd be better off choosing another place.

GGuest UserI had a staycation at the Swissotel on a weekday night. Since it was quite late, check-in was smooth and fast. I was given a city view premier (Standard) room on the 24th floor. The room was of an odd shape with a long corridor which reduced noise levels. Since the hotel is almost 40 years old now, the rooms are quite spacious, and I enjoyed sitting and relaxing on the large couch and had a great sleep on the wide king bed. However, I did notice some very short strands of hair on the pillow even before I laid down, which makes me wonder if the pillowcase had been washed in between guests. During the daytime, the warm sunlight lit up the surrounding colonial buildings well (CHIJMES, Raffles Hotel etc) and it made for great pictures that I managed to shoot from the balcony of the room. Having stayed at the sister property-- Fairmont Hotel before, I was a little disappointed that the toiletries were of a seemingly ordinary brand, as opposed to LeLabo used at Fairmont which is usually similarly priced but more luxurious. I feel that the minibar area can be upgraded, since currently it looks dark and rather out of place as compared to the rest of the well decorated room. Nespresso and TWG Tea were available, while oddly enough the minibar was empty. At the Fairmont for comparison, there is an overengineered but fully stocked minibar with sensors that will detect the drink leaving the fridge and exorbitant charges will be applied. The room also felt slightly older - Some nicks on the wall, frames etc, as I learned that Swissotel was last renovated in 2019 while Fairmont was renovated slightly later. The USB-A ports also gave away the room's age. There seemed to be rather few charging plugs available for such a large room. Location of the hotel is superb, with convenient transport downstairs via the MRT and it is easy to get a Grabcar. It is also connected to the shopper's paradise, Raffles City Shopping Mall. Singapore faces an acute manpower shortage in the hotel and hospitality industry, but I never once felt service was an issue here. The reception and concierge were amply staffed, staff were friendly and could be seen proactively helping guests with their luggage. I also did not have to wait to check in/out. There is a large gym on the property, raved about by other reviews, but I did not visit it since it is on the Fairmont side of the hotel [quite a walk away] and I got lost trying to find it. Lastly, I could not resist visiting the Skai Restaurant which Swissotel is most known for since it is among the tallest restaurants in Singapore -- taller than Marina Bay Sands. It is located on the 70th floor of the hotel and I had a 3-course lunch there. Service was great as to be expected, but prices are steep - if you don't have the 30% Accor Plus discount. While the food was alright, the view was simply superb since it is unblocked on all sides. I would recommend visiting just for the view, but I heard that there could be a minimum order of 1 main course needed to enter. Overall, nitpicking aside, the Swissotel is one of the better 5 star hotels in Singapore and a great choice for business travellers. Asides from the not so clean pillow I could not find any other major faults. However, since Fairmont and Swissotel are both usually similarly priced at $400+, and having stayed at both before, I would recommend the Fairmont over the Swissotel since it offers a slightly more luxurious experience for not that much more.

WwilliamguanThe location is superb, right in the heart of Orchard Road, opposite Ngee Ann City, making it incredibly convenient for shopping on both sides. It's also very close to the MRT station. To get to the hotel rooms, you first need to go to the 4th floor and then take another elevator. This trip, I stayed in a standard twin room. I didn't get a room with an Orchard Road view, but the room itself was quite spacious – more than enough room to fully open two large suitcases. The bathroom didn't have a bathtub, but the space was decent. However, the shower area has no door, so it felt like if you showered for too long, water would easily spill into other parts of the bathroom.

AAnonymous UserA lovely place for a short stay, although the room is quite small but it is big enough for one person. However, there wasn’t much space to open a big suitcase. Bed and pillows are comfortable. The body wash and shampoo that they provided smells so nice, it’s from the brand Rituals. Location is very strategic, Maxwell MRT and Outram Park MRT are close by. Plenty of places to eat from including Maxwell Food Centre and coffee shops that opened as early as 8am. There’s a 7-Eleven nearby as well. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again next time but probably booking a slightly bigger room if I am bringing a big suitcase.
