Hotels near Novena Square, Singapore

This hotel truly exceeded my expectations – incredible value for money! The location is particularly convenient; the subway station is just a short walk downstairs, making it super easy to get to all the attractions. Plus, there are tons of great food options nearby, with all sorts of authentic restaurants and local snacks. Whether you're looking for trendy spots or late-night eats, it's all right there. The room was clean and comfortable. For this price point, being able to stay in such a convenient location is something I genuinely recommend!

The facilities are really old. The shower is one of those where you have to stand in the tub, and the showerhead is a fixed, old-fashioned one on the wall. There's no window in the room, and no ventilation either, so the air quality isn't great. The worst part is the glass exterior wall – pulling back the curtains was a truly awful sight (see picture). The only positives are that the room is quite spacious and the location is fairly convenient.

This was my first trip to Singapore, and actually my first time in Southeast Asia, traveling independently. After comparing several hotels online, I chose Homix Hotel. You can think of Singapore's hotel prices as comparable to Beijing's. This hotel has an excellent location in Balestier, not in a red-light district or an Indian-dominated area. Although it's about a kilometer from the nearest MRT station, it's very close to several bus stops. We primarily used buses for our entire trip, which was super convenient. Near the hotel, there's Ya Kun Kaya Toast, a popular Singaporean breakfast spot, and an affordable supermarket – a welcome change from the overpriced mineral water at 7-Eleven! There are also Bak Kut Teh and Hainanese Chicken Rice stalls nearby that seem to be frequented by locals, so the food there should be good, based on my observations. The hotel is newly opened and currently in a soft-opening phase. Wi-Fi is only available in the lobby on the first floor, not in the rooms. The rooms have bunk beds and plenty of storage space, plus they have proper windows, which is a great design – we could open them for ventilation when we went out. There was no formaldehyde smell in the room either. Currently, toiletries are self-service, but this might change once they officially open. If you arrive early or need to store your luggage on your last day, you can do so in the lobby. The front desk staff can speak Chinese, so no worries there. Even if you encounter staff who don't speak good Chinese, you can still check in with 'plastic English' (broken English), so don't be concerned. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel. If I come to Singapore again, I would definitely stay here.

Went through the pretty complicated and troublesome steps in checking in and getting the digital key and a physical room card key {just in case} at the reception and finally only gotten to my room where the air conditioner was not working..alas! Called reception several times but no one answered. Had to go down again to the reception and asked for help! The staff said he would get the people in charge to fix it. I was told that it would take about 15~20 minutes. I then asked to change to another room instead! This time I just asked for the physical room card key instead to save all the trouble! I guess the Checking In App was not so useful after all! Sighhhhh.. Had to go back to the room to get my stuff and then went to the new room to settle my stuff and then went back to the reception again to return the previous physical room key! Done all that all by myself! I was pretty upset and annoyed but was rather calm and didn’t show it! Mentioned it to the rather nonchalant staff at the reception that it had cost me much time and inconvenience! It was a world of difference when I last stayed in March last year! The staff at the reception, Wing Kei’s service was impressive and impeccable! I guess he is now no longer there anymore! That was such a pity! All else were still acceptable for a short stay. Thank you.

I visited China last year shortly after this hotel opened and had a great experience – the surroundings were lovely, and the service was excellent. However, this time, I felt the service had really declined. The front desk in the West Wing was good, but the East Wing's front desk service was terrible! My room's TV was malfunctioning, and it took an hour to try and fix it. When they couldn't, they told me to switch rooms. Usually, hotels send staff to help with luggage, but this hotel just handed me a new key card and told me to go by myself. After moving to the new room, the safe was broken. All in all, it wasted about an hour and a half of my time. There were just too many facility issues, and the service couldn't keep up. I ended up switching hotels after that.

The hotel room was very clean, and the staff were incredibly friendly. The view was amazing, and breakfast was absolutely delicious. The infinity pool on the rooftop was stunning, and with Christmas approaching, the festive atmosphere was really strong! 🎄

I am a fan of booking service hotels across Singapore, and I have likely tried almost all the most popular ones. What I love about Citadines is its location near malls and bus stops, its amenities, and the kitchenette- spacious, deep sink and cooking utensuls are useful. The value for money is really worth it: spacious rooms, an almost complete kitchenette, cleanliness, friendly room service staff, smooth check-in and check-out, and toiletries that are not cheap. I have tried other branches and would like to book again for my birthday this time, but unfortunately, the dates are fully booked. Thank you so much! I love your room. I will definitely come back.

I stayed 4 nights at the hotel. The breakfast was decent (albeit could be chaotic at peak hours, which is understandable). I dined in for lunch one of the days and the bbq pork ribs is of good value! The laundry room is accessible only by request at the front-desk. All in all i enjoyed my stay.

I had a fantastic 4-night stay at Kam Leng Hotel in the Deluxe Queen Room. The room was very clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The bed was cozy, and the overall atmosphere of the hotel was calm and relaxing. The staff were friendly, polite, and always ready to help with any requests. Check-in and check-out were smooth and hassle-free. I also appreciated the convenient facilities like parking and luggage storage, which made my stay even more comfortable. The location is great, with easy access to nearby attractions and transport options. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, and I would definitely recommend Kam Leng Hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and affordable stay. I would happily book again in the future!

The location of Value Hotel Balestier is quite nice and convenient, with easy access to nearby food places and transportation. However, the main downside of my stay was the restroom. It was noticeably smelly and had a strong unpleasant odor, similar to sewage or poop, which made using the bathroom uncomfortable. While the location is a plus, the cleanliness and smell of the restroom really need improvement.
