Hotels near Minami (Namba), Osaka

My daughter said this hotel is always her top choice when she goes to Osaka with her friends, so we, as a family, naturally stayed here this time. It's a small space, but has everything you need. The room decor was very clean, and having two pillows with different thickness and firmness was a thoughtful touch. When we arrived in the morning, only Japanese-speaking staff could communicate with my daughter, but by the afternoon, there was a Chinese-speaking lady available during check-in. The service was good overall.

Stayed at Hotel Shinsaibashi for almost 5 days. The amenities are complete, but they’re all on the ground floor. The room was quite small, and there wasn’t much space for our luggage, especially when packing. The restroom is also pretty tight, which might be uncomfortable for bigger body types. Customer service was a highlight though — the staff were friendly and very accommodating. They also offer luggage storage, which was really convenient for us.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for comfort and convenience. One of its biggest strengths is the location—it’s situated in a very accessible area, close to key attractions, shops, and public transportation, making it easy to get around. The cleanliness of the hotel was truly impressive. The housekeeping team clearly puts in great effort to ensure a pleasant environment for guests. I also appreciated the thoughtful amenities, especially the availability of free coffee and drinking water. It’s a small touch, but it really adds to the overall experience and makes guests feel welcomed and cared for. Another highlight was the seasonal decorations throughout the hotel. The festive decorations created a warm and inviting atmosphere, showing that the hotel pays attention to detail and strives to make each stay special.

The staff was really helpful. We were able to check in right away. There was only one outlet but an extension cord was provided. There were also vending machines in some floors so it was really helpful when we forgot to buy drinks from the convenience store. With its location, we walked daily to shinsaibashi for shopping and meals.

The room was average, with older facilities. It wasn't central air conditioning, and the AC was slow to cool. The main light in the room was small and dim; even with all the lights on, it still wasn't bright enough. Overall, the facilities are quite old. I wouldn't choose this hotel again unless it was significantly cheaper.

I would like to sincerely thank 李 and 伏见 for their efforts in coordinating with various parties and helping me successfully retrieve my lost bag from the Shinkansen lost and found centre. Even though the reception was busy with other travelers and this wasnt part of their job, they still took the time to help me. Because of their help, I was able to enjoy the rest of my Japan trip.

Great place to stay. It is very clean and the location is fantastic 10 min walking to the metro station. The morning breakfast is enough eggs and lots of different breads. It is very clean. They change our towels everyday!

Good location great service. Stay at this hotel for every trip to Osaka Since 2019. There’s a free coffee vending machine and water vending machine separately. Washing machine, dryer and microwave also. All in level. This year their change daily housekeeping daily to every 3 days. The only complaint is there’s no anti slip mat inside the bathroom. As the floor is slippery after bath. This trip I Like the bathtub 🛁.

Excellent value for money! It's just a few steps away from Shinsaibashi. While the breakfast isn't overly extravagant, it's a typical Japanese breakfast with all the essentials, and it's certainly enough. The crucial thing is the warm and attentive service from every single staff member, which truly made me feel right at home. It's still the Osaka I've known for nearly thirty years. Located in Osaka Honmachi, safety wasn't an issue, but the convenience factor was lacking. It's about a 7-8 minute walk to the nearest subway station. Shinsaibashi is only one stop away, or a 10-15 minute walk. While it's acceptable for shopping in areas like Shinsaibashi, if you frequently rely on public transport, you'll find yourself walking quite a bit. The room itself was smaller than anticipated. There wasn't enough space for two people to open their suitcases simultaneously, making it feel quite cramped. The bathroom was, without a doubt, the smallest I've ever encountered in any hotel. I'd always thought Hong Kong bathrooms were tiny, but this one in Osaka was akin to a train restroom. Both using the toilet and showering were incredibly inconvenient, and the shower water was never consistently hot. Room cleanliness was frankly very average. I'm not sure if it was because there was no window or another reason, but there was a persistent sour smell in the room upon entry. It only somewhat faded after the air conditioning had been running for a while. The smell was especially noticeable in the bathroom. The bed offered only mediocre comfort, and the sheets felt rather low quality. I'm not typically particular about hotel bedding, but this room left me feeling itchy all over, prompting me to constantly spray insect repellent. The only redeeming quality was the hotel staff's pleasant and helpful demeanor, and they did offer luggage storage.
