"Stayed here for 2 nights, but in two different rooms, so I got to experience both. Overall, the hotel has a great view and a generally comfortable stay. It is a bit far from most main attractions, although it is relatively close to the railway station. There is a nearby bus station (Line 6), but getting to the Ancient Town and other popular areas is still quite far, so using Didi is often the easier option. The lobby also provides tea, coffee, and water, which is a nice touch. My first room was on the 2nd floor and felt very modern and new. The bed was especially comfortable, and everything felt fresh and well-designed — I really liked this room. My second room was on the 5th floor, and there is no lift in the building, so carrying luggage up the stairs can be quite tiring. The staff kindly helped me, which I really appreciated, especially since it was quite a lot of effort. This room had a nice view, but it felt a bit older compared to the first one, especially the bathroom. If I had to choose, I personally preferred the first room for its newer feel and comfort, but both stays were still pleasant in different ways."

"I had an early morning flight from Kuala Lumpur to Kunming, followed by a morning train from Kunming to Dali, so obviously my energy was completely drained. However, the moment I arrived at this hotel on 27 May 2026, the warm welcome from the staff instantly made me feel better. They even allowed me to check in early so I could rest and kindly offered me breakfast too, which I truly appreciated after the long journey. The hotel is super strategically located inside Dali Old Town — very easy to find, surrounded by everything, and honestly super cute! My room was amazing and so comfortable that I had one of the deepest sleeps ever to recover from the exhaustion! Before leaving, I even gifted my Nike Air Force sneakers, which were still in good condition, to one of the hotel staff. Hopefully they fit him well! 😄 Totally recommended this hotel if you’re visiting Dali."

"I first heard about this place on Instagram and thought it was so beautiful. Its incredible structure is just as gorgeous when you see it in person. The staff were very accommodating and attentive. It was so cool because they had a machine that translates different languages depending on what you speak. This was the first time I’d ever seen anything like it and found it very helpful as I don’t speak Mandarin. Breakfast isn’t included but you can purchase their set meals for 37 yuan and have it while looking out at the beautiful courtyard. If you need train station transfer, you can easily ask for it for 80 yuan per way which made my check in and check out process smooth. They also allow you to try on their cultural costumes for free. If you need hair, makeup and photography services than it’s 499 yuan. As a solo traveler, I decided to try it out. They were very nice, however I definitely struggled with the very white makeup since I myself am very tanned. In their defense they did their best with trying to give me something darker and in the makeup room it seemed fine. But with the different lighting outside and the camera flash, when I got my pictures back I basically had a ghost face 😞 The foundation also wasn’t applied to my neck and arms, so it was very apparent. I’ve asked the photographer to help standardize my skin so hopefully that helps whenever it’s done. You receive a total of 9 retouches photos as part of the package. However, if you prefer to do your own makeup or are traveling with others then they can take pictures for you instead. The place is very convenient for finding restaurants and if you’re primary goal is the visit the old town. It’s very close by, so I was able to explore easily and then return to the hotel for breaks when needed. Lastly, you can use their laundry machines and get laundry pellets for free. Ideally this is great. But I will say the drying part is dreadful. The instructions say to do the 2/3 rule. However, even when I followed and put a small batch of clothes in it never dried. I tried once for 1.5 hours, then again for another hour, and still nothing. That was probably the only real part that was frustrating."

"We will be back! This felt like a home away from home, except it had such a wonderful view of the lake. The host was super friendly and helpful. The location was perfect, close to the railway station, which was very handy for us as we came over from Kunming and then went back. You're close to many of the central places and with DiDi taxi, it's super easy to get around from here. We will for sure book here again; we're already planning a visit back."

"The Honglongjing branch in Dali Ancient City is absolutely amazing! 📍 The location is unbeatable, right in the heart of Honglongjing Pedestrian Street. Step outside and you're greeted by a gently flowing stream, and you can look up to see the Cangshan mountains. It's just a few minutes' walk to Fuxing Road, the main street, making it incredibly convenient for sightseeing and dining. 🏡 The ambiance is perfect! The Bai ethnic architectural style blends seamlessly with modern design. The courtyard with its flowing water, flagstone paths, and red lanterns makes every photo Instagram-worthy. At night, when the lights come on, the atmosphere is simply magical, giving off a 'Spirited Away' kind of dreaminess. 💁 The service is incredibly thoughtful! The staff are warm and professional, proactively offering tips on nearby attractions and local delicacies. Their attention to detail really shines through, like providing local snacks and complimentary tea. 🍽️ The overall experience is fantastic! Whether it's the comfortable rooms, the aromatic coffee at the cafe, or the authentic Bai cuisine at the restaurant, everything leaves a lasting impression. It offers excellent value for money. I'll definitely be back to Dali and stay here again next time! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟"

"Before I came, the weather forecast said it would rain every day in Dali, and I was quite worried. But when I arrived, the weather was actually great, with blue skies and white clouds – perfect for photos! I booked a hotel inside the Ancient City for easier travel. The room was clean and comfortable, and the overall hotel environment was lovely; it looked exactly like the pictures. Although it's within the Ancient City, it was incredibly quiet, and I slept very soundly at night. The room I booked had a view of Cangshan Mountain, which was fantastic. The front desk lady, though petite, was super strong and helped us carry our luggage to the room. When I checked out, I accidentally left something behind, and she promptly contacted me and even helped me mail it. She was truly wonderful! [rose emoji]"

I sit by the window with a cup of coffee, watching Erhai Lake slowly awaken. The breeze is gentle, the water shimmers serenely, as if breathing for me~~ Breakfast 🍳 is a double delight for both sight and taste— Exquisite dishes transform in the play of light and shadow. Outside the floor-to-ceiling windows, clouds drift slowly, and people sit at leisure. 🏡 Some memorable glimpses: · Ground floor seaside garden: Green lawn, Cangshan mountains, and Erhai Lake, pristine like a newborn dream. · Swing lobby: 180-degree sea view. "This trip is to take wedding photos. I accidentally passed by this hotel. The hotel is super new and the environment is very good. It is recommended to live in a courtyard room. The facilities are new and clean. The front desk lady is super good, always smiling gently and smiling. If there is a problem, I will help immediately. The bedding/hotel/environment is very clean and very good, The location is very close to the ancient city. "My stay at the Dali Shanhai Yunjian Hotel completely exceeded my expectations. It's definitely a hidden gem worth choosing if you're visiting Dali! The room was bright and airy with an excellent layout. The bedding was incredibly soft and comfortable, ensuring a perfect night's sleep without any issues. The wet/dry separation in the bathroom was very well done, the toiletries were high quality, and all the essential facilities were available. Everything was meticulously clean, making for a truly comfortable stay. The front desk staff were incredibly warm and attentive. Check-in was efficient and quick, and the staff were patient and thoughtful. Whether I needed directions or tips for local attractions, they provided detailed answers that made me feel very welcome. "This guesthouse is located just outside the ancient city, making it incredibly convenient for getting around. The owner was exceptionally warm and helpful, thoroughly explaining nearby attractions and thoughtfully recommending must-visit spots while also highlighting places to avoid, which saved us a ton of planning hassle. The two dogs at the guesthouse are also incredibly charming – one is a chilled-out, lazy sweetheart named Huanxi, and the other, Shi-yi, is full of energy and loves toys, both providing endless comfort. The daily breakfast noodles were surprisingly delicious, and they even provided complimentary sodas like Coke and 7-Up. Dali's scenery is breathtakingly beautiful, and this stay was absolutely perfect. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!"
