A sudden bout of altitude sickness in Lijiang forced us to alter our plans and return to Dali. Little did we know this detour would lead us to the most wonderful surprise: XingMu Villa, tucked away on the green slopes of Haidong. Perhaps this was destiny's gentle hand at work all along? We were truly blessed to meet the villa's kind-hearted owners, whose genuine warmth made us feel as though we had returned to a home we never knew we had. The goodbye was especially moving. When our driver, Master He, arrived, the owners personally came out to see us off. We shared joyful smiles in a farewell photo, and they gifted us my favorite rose tea—a touching gesture I'll always remember. The hostess, aware of my recent knee injury, carefully helped me into the car, her eyes filled with such sincere care, as if I were her own. When she said how much she enjoyed hosting us and how special we were to her, my heart echoed every word. Though every wonderful journey must eventually end, the memories we've made here will stay with us forever. As our car carried us away, the gentle scent of rose tea still lingered, a fragrant reminder of this heartwarming chapter. Until we meet again, XingMu Villa. This stay truly exceeded my expectations, and I just had to leave a glowing review! The hotel's location is superb, truly an oasis of calm amidst the hustle and bustle. Although it's in a vibrant area, the moment you step through the hotel doors, the outside noise seems to vanish, allowing you to completely relax. What touched me the most was the concierge service – absolutely incredible! They proactively contacted me even before check-in to help plan my itinerary. The concierge patiently and meticulously explained the features of nearby attractions and suggested routes, even offering thoughtful tips and reminders that saved me a lot of hassle. This feeling of being so well taken care of was truly wonderful. The hotel's facilities are also top-notch. Everything in the room was new and worked perfectly. The overall environment was excellent; not only was it tastefully decorated, but it was also spotlessly clean, making for a very reassuring and comfortable stay. Furthermore, I must rave about the hotel's breakfast – it was fantastic! The variety was extensive, and the food tasted amazing, with fresh ingredients. This was my first time in Yunnan, and I specifically chose this guesthouse because it's right next to a police station. The front desk staff was incredibly welcoming, helping us with our luggage and giving us great tips for sightseeing. The courtyard is spacious and quiet, and it's only about a ten-minute walk to the ancient city. I really wished I could have stayed another day or two if my itinerary wasn't already set. Coming back around 11 PM, almost all the streetlights were off, but the guesthouse still had a super bright light on at the entrance, which I found incredibly thoughtful. We woke up late, and the kitchen had thoughtfully saved breakfast for us. The breakfast was very plentiful and made fresh by local aunties. Their human touch really surpasses many large hotels. If I ever come back to Dali, or if friends visit, I will definitely highly recommend this guesthouse.

I rarely write reviews, but this hotel truly touched me. As an architect/interior designer, hotel design, aesthetics, and facilities have always been my top criteria when traveling. I've stayed in many hotels both domestically and internationally. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to book the newly built room type at Zuodu; the older section was just okay in terms of comfort. If you have the option, I definitely recommend choosing the new room types. The hotel is located right on the scenic coastal road. Its somewhat remote location makes it even quieter compared to S Bay, yet the surrounding scenery is still fantastic. What really made me want to check in here was their service. First, I chose two room types, and both included breakfast, plus daily afternoon tea options. The breakfast was quite rich, served buffet style, with Western, Cantonese, and rice noodle options. The restaurant environment is also excellent, with a great ambiance for photos both indoors and outdoors. Honestly, I've been to Dali many times, and hotels in this price range rarely offer breakfast, let alone afternoon tea. A cup of coffee costs 30-40 yuan, and you can order two per room, along with fruit and flower cakes. Besides the food, the hotel's other thoughtful services were also very impressive. This included shuttle service to and from the parking lot, and to and from the airport (we were a group of 5, 3 adults and 2 children, and the hotel provided a complimentary 7-seater shuttle from Longkan Pier, and the airport drop-off price was also upgraded from a 5-seater to a 7-seater for free). Bottled water in the hotel is unlimited and self-service. Instant coffee, tea bags, and steam eye masks are provided daily in the room, and none of them are off-brands. In the public restrooms, they thoughtfully provide sanitary pads and mouthwash, both of which are good brands. In short, whatever you requested, the front desk always responded and resolved it immediately. Upon checkout, they even gave us Pu'er tea cakes as a souvenir. I can truly say their service was exceptional. I will definitely choose Zuodu again next time I come to Dali.

The rooms and facilities are just so-so, nothing special. The hotel is located across from Dali Port, so the view is alright, but it doesn't really stand out compared to other hotels and guesthouses right on Erhai Lake. If you don't book a lake-view room, you won't see anything. And the lake-view rooms face the street, so you'll hear loud motorcycles at night. The location is actually quite far from places like Dali Ancient City, the Three Pagodas, and Xizhou Ancient Town. Even the closest destination is about a 40-minute taxi ride, and the farther ones can take nearly two hours – and that's assuming no traffic jams, which are pretty much guaranteed in this area. Before booking, I saw several recent reviews mentioning free room upgrades. I didn't get one, and they didn't even ask. I quietly checked the available upgraded rooms myself, but whatever. The only positive highlight was the butler service; they were very attentive and sent lots of information. However, that one good impression was ultimately ruined by the front desk. I had told the butler that my child needed to sleep, so we'd check out an hour later, and the butler had even noted it down. Yet, right at 12 PM, they called me to check out! I had to explain that the butler had already arranged an extension, and only then did they say they'd check. Don't you people look at these requests? What's the point of having a butler then?

I highly recommend this hotel! The environment is amazing and the service is incredibly warm and thoughtful. You absolutely have to try the afternoon tea; the exquisite pastries, fresh fruit, and coffee create such a blissful experience. I especially want to praise the Santorini seascape photoshoot. The package included outfits, and the shoot itself was very comprehensive. We were a group of four and took some group photos. After adding on more shots, the owner gave us a 40% discount, which was incredibly generous! Last year, our photography experience here wasn't great, but this year's photographer was an absolute gem. Not only was he friendly, but his photography skills were top-notch. The final photos are stunning! I'll definitely choose this place again next time!

Cangshan No. 1 is a hotel with advanced concepts. The management model is a team of butlers who create a feeling of home for guests and think of everything in front of them. The environment is beautiful and beautiful, with swimming pools, white beaches, coconut trees... creating a different paradise. One day in Haidong, as if living in a picture frame I stayed in Kunming for two days on the weekend to escape from work Originally, I planned to stay in Haixi for two nights. By coincidence, I had dinner with an old friend at this hotel. I was shocked by the sunset in the restaurant.
