There were also freshly made noodles and fresh fruit, all delicious, and every detail was well thought out. Thank you, Qixi. The entire staff was warm and attentive! Front desk check-in was efficient, and they proactively greeted us. Housekeeping was prompt, and the restaurant staff were thoughtful and meticulous. "Great experience at Swissôtel Changbaishan! The service was incredible from start to finish. We were able to check into our room immediately upon arrival at 11am and were pleasantly surprised with a complimentary upgrade — from a standard queen room to a spacious suite with a separate living area, kitchen, and two bathrooms. A fantastic way to start the trip. The staff were extremely friendly and responsive, offering almost round-the-clock support via WeChat with very quick replies. The built-in translation feature made communication smooth and easy, which we really appreciated. The location itself is beautiful. The European-inspired architecture and charming walking street genuinely make it feel like a small Swiss mountain town — aside from the many Chinese restaurants, of course. It’s a very scenic and relaxing environment. Breakfast offered a great variety of options, including a standard Western/English breakfast along with plenty of Chinese and ASEAN dishes. Something for everyone. The ski center and slopes are just a short walk away, which is very convenient. Do note that this area mainly offers green and blue runs, the mountain is relatively small and doesn’t have more challenging slopes. It’s perfect for beginners or those looking to practice, but advanced skiers may find it limited. We arrived toward the end of the season, so the snow was starting to melt. However, the slopes were still very well maintained, smooth and surprisingly free of icy patches. Ski rentals are available at the ski center. Basic skis and equipment are included free of charge, while gloves and goggles can be rented for a small fee. After skiing, we visited the spa at Club Med, which was included in the room rate. The facility was surprisingly large, featuring outdoor hot springs (onsen-style pools), saunas, steam rooms, and massage services, the perfect way to unwind after a day on the slopes. Overall, a very enjoyable stay and a great destination for a relaxed ski getaway."

"This was my second stay at a Wanda property. Because hotel prices were much higher than usual at Wanda during Chinese New Year, I opted for the Sheraton instead, even though two nights still cost nearly 7,000 RMB. But to my surprise, I was disappointed in every aspect… Firstly, on February 16th, as soon as I entered the lobby, I saw guests arguing with hotel staff. I wasn't sure about the specific reason, but I already had a bad feeling. Secondly, February 16th was Chinese New Year's Eve. My family of three was watching the Spring Festival Gala in the room, and when we tried to pull down the shower curtain, it was broken. After reporting it, we found that even when the curtain was down, it was still see-through… I nearly fainted! This might be okay for couples, but if you're traveling with friends or family with kids, wouldn't that be incredibly awkward? Then, when we were ready to sleep that night, we discovered an issue with the toilet – there was a constant dripping sound, which was driving me crazy. It was Chinese New Year and the middle of the night, so I decided to deal with it the next day. I communicated with the hotel concierge in the morning but never heard back about a resolution. After breakfast, I had to speak to the front desk myself to get a room change… It was a huge hassle, moving from one end of the hotel to the other (a very long walk, dragging suitcases for 10 minutes, and taking two different elevators). The most ridiculous part was that this concierge, after we checked in, enthusiastically recommended various paid activities to us, and we even booked some through him… Ha! During Chinese New Year, I didn't want to ruin our trip or make things difficult for the staff who were still working. So, I tried to keep my negative emotions to myself. However, an old, established hotel, even if it's been open for a long time, isn't excused from all problems. Proper equipment maintenance and staff quality training are just basic operational necessities, aren't they? If they only think about making money from customers' pockets without any sincerity, how far can they really go?"

"Chose this hotel for a skiing trip during the Chinese New Year. Apart from the higher prices, everything else was great. The front desk service was excellent. On check-out day, since we were still skiing in the morning, they kindly allowed us to check out at 1 PM after we communicated, giving us time to freshen up. The hotel breakfast was decent, and its location right by the resort's commercial street was perfect. They also offered a lot of complimentary benefits. The resort itself is really fun and interesting. The underfloor heating in the room was fantastic. I heard the room types are similar to those in Switzerland, and the hotel's architectural style also resembles Switzerland. There are shuttle buses within the scenic area, as well as pick-up and drop-off services to and from the station."

"If you need anything, just talk to the front desk; they're happy to help. It was quite clean, though the floor felt a bit sticky – just wear the provided slippers. The stay was comfortable, and the room was spacious, which made packing easy. The location is great, very close to the high-speed rail station, just a short walk. For dining, pick restaurants that offer shuttle service, but make sure to confirm they provide both pickup and drop-off before you go. For example, the ”Old Fisherman's Wood-Fired Iron Pot Stew” restaurant we went to only picked us up but didn't drop us back at the hotel."

"The first two days were all about getting there and climbing Changbai Mountain, and the check-in experience was a total mess, accompanied by sighs and eye-rolls from the gym staff. The next two days continued to be a special, overpriced experience of a hotel that was either too crowded to accommodate guests or simply didn't know how to when it wasn't. Room: By the third day, I finally noticed issues with the hotel's hardware. For instance, the sink actually smelled. For the first two days, I thought it was due to poor ventilation in the bathroom, with odors lingering after use. But then I realized that even without using the toilet, the smell would appear whenever I washed my hands. That's when it hit me: the sink itself was letting out foul odors. Speaking of smells, I also have to mention the management of smoking. It must be poorly managed because there was always a cigarette smell in the hallway. In a sealed, heated space like this, the smell doesn't just stay in the corridor; it seeps into the rooms. If I were staying at an e-sports hotel, being bothered by this might be an overreaction, but I'm not. On-site transportation: One thing particularly worth noting. After finishing a hot spring session at Mediterranean, there's no shuttle bus back to the hotel. You have to walk to the Swiss Hotel and then catch a ride. I, being the unlucky one, finished my soak at Mediterranean. Because it was too crowded, I couldn't get a hairdryer, so I decided to go back to the hotel to dry my hair. I called the front desk, but communication was difficult. I asked if I could get a shuttle from Mediterranean. The front desk told me to go to the lobby, and I said I was already in the lobby. He then asked for my room number. I told him. He seemed very confused and again told me to go to the lobby. I said, 'I'm in the lobby!' He then said, 'Oh, oh, oh, then you need to walk to the lobby of the Swiss Hotel.' My jaw dropped! Fine! In -17-degree weather, with wet hair, I walked from Mediterranean to the Swiss Hotel lobby. At that moment, all the cigarette smoke, the toilet smell, and the eye-rolls and sighs from the front desk I'd encountered over the past few days rushed back to me. Of course, I'm still inclined to think it was a communication breakdown, and I must have misunderstood something. Back at the hotel, I entered the lobby (the smaller one) and rushed to the front desk to ask her. 'Is there really no shuttle from Mediterranean back to the hotel?' The front desk, looking up from her phone, said, 'Yes, that's correct.' Ah, all the staff at this hotel love playing on their phones! On the fourth day, after a day of skiing, I returned to the room to find that the housekeeping had done a great job, but all the linens were gone. Even the hand towels were missing. I almost laughed in exasperation. On the fifth day, check-out day. My boyfriend sent a message to the butler, letting them know all the linens were gone, just to give them a heads-up so they wouldn't think we stole them 😂😂😂😂😂. The butler apologized profusely. Oh! That morning, at 9:30 AM, we went to the restaurant for breakfast, and there was absolutely nothing left! After staying for four nights, jianbing guozi (savory crepes) and boiled noodles were the only guaranteed items. The restaurant was drafty, and the four hot dishes were never actually hot (the lights only dried out the food, they didn't keep it warm). Any mid-range brand under Huazhu Hotels would utterly beat this dining experience. Check-out: Three people were standing at the front desk. I was pushing a 26-inch suitcase and a 28-inch suitcase. A woman dressed like a supervisor and a front desk staff member were busy chatting, saying there weren't many guests left today. No one offered to help. My boyfriend parked the car and came in to help with the bags. At this point, a male staff member blocked his way, turning back to talk to the three front desk staff. My boyfriend and I, struggling with the large suitcases, waited behind this male staff member until he finished his casual chat with the three female front desk staff, because he was blocking the way. My! God! Goodbye! I wouldn't recommend anyone stay at this hotel unless it's 300 yuan a night. But it's not~"

"This is our second time staying at Jinhua Suite Hotel this snow season! Manager Tang Xiaohan from the hotel called and messaged us on WeChat beforehand to understand all our needs in detail. During our stay, she'd remind us about the weather every day and even proactively offered hand warmers when it was cold. I especially want to thank Manager Tang for her exceptional dedication in helping us arrange a ski instructor for our child. When one day's ski lesson couldn't be booked, Manager Tang tirelessly helped me refresh the mini-program every day to see if there were any available instructors. It truly touched this old mother's heart! The hotel's location is super convenient for skiing; the ski center and restaurants are right downstairs. The hotel also has its own laundry room, which is a great plus. See you next snow season!"
