Hyatt Regency Changbaishan

Room: We booked a double room, and the front desk manager kindly upgraded us to a mountain view room for free. Opening the balcony door, we had a fantastic view of the Wanda resort amusement park. We were a group of three adults and one child, and they even provided an extra bed and breakfast free of charge. This grand hotel truly lives up to its reputation; the service is outstanding. Facilities: The hotel's decor is very stylish, with a Nordic design. The soundproofing is excellent too. I usually have trouble sleeping, but here I slept soundly all night, which I really appreciated. Environment: Visiting in summer, with the green grass and trees, being surrounded by nature was very refreshing. Transportation: The hotel offers complimentary shuttle services to and from the airport, high-speed rail station, and Tianchi Scenic Area, making getting around incredibly convenient. Dining: The hotel has direct access to a commercial street from its B1 level, which is very handy. The hotel's breakfast buffet was decent. During our stay, we also tried the ginseng chicken soup set meal at the hotel's Chinese restaurant; the portions were generous, the ingredients fresh, and the ambiance was good. Looking forward to visiting Changbai Mountain again in winter and will definitely stay at Hyatt Hotel!

Had a fantastic stay! The hotel offers a great variety of entertainment facilities, and the service is incredibly attentive. The hotel environment is also wonderful. They have a swimming pool, a water park, hot springs, and even a cable car, all of which are complimentary. Breakfast is also free.

First off, the hotel's location is excellent. It's right above a commercial street, so dining and drinks are super convenient. Plus, it's not far from activities like grass skiing, luge, or boating on the lake. The staff were also quite good. During check-in, a male staff member (I've forgotten his name) was very enthusiastic, explaining the hotel benefits and helping with our luggage. Now for the complaints. The hygiene was a complete mess. As soon as you walk into the lobby, there's a strong musty smell. The hotel doesn't seem that old, but there were maintenance staff everywhere patching things up, and the floor was leaking. The worst part is that when I checked out this morning, I noticed large yellow stains on the duvet we had slept with for two nights – I almost threw up! The room floors creaked, and the balcony door wouldn't close once opened. Both our rooms were for two adults and one child, but they only provided amenities for two, and even just one tube of toothpaste. I also checked out the afternoon tea at the Executive Lounge. This truly was the most basic executive afternoon tea I've ever seen – just some soft drinks, tea bags, and two or three types of biscuits. It felt like a complete waste of time walking all the way from my room down that long corridor. Breakfast was just mediocre, but honestly, I had already lowered my expectations. The Hyatt brand seems to be getting worse and worse.

The environment here is fantastic, and its location within the Wanda Resort is perfect. However, the facilities are definitely a bit dated, and the cleanliness is just okay. Considering the basic room rate was already inflated during the summer, plus an additional 500 per day, it's really not worth the price overall. A special thank you to Alisa, the duty manager. Due to heavy rain, many attractions were closed, and she actively helped me coordinate and provided me with very feasible solutions. Thank you!

The hotel's location is truly excellent, with a side exit leading directly to the heart of the town's commercial street, right next to the water park. It's incredibly close to all the zipline and cable car attractions, just a 3-minute walk away. Despite opening quite some time ago, its design style keeps it from feeling dated. Since it was still a few days before peak season, the front desk, after understanding our situation, thoughtfully provided a free extra bed for our over-12-year-old child and upgraded our breakfast – which was fantastic! The hotel's breakfast is also in a league of its own here, featuring unique Eggs Benedict, freshly baked savory and sweet flatbreads, and three different flavors of homemade yogurt. Areas for improvement: 1. Room service response was slow. I had to call three times for a pair of slippers, and they weren't delivered until much later in the evening, after half a day. 2. All other hotels we stayed at in Changbai Mountain had a 1:1 butler who contacted us in advance to arrange check-in and inform us about leisure activities and benefits. Hyatt did not. 3. The outdoor pool in the private hot spring room is very small, and it seems the water isn't natural hot spring water (though this is a hardware issue, difficult to change, and the hotel benefits for soaking include tickets to the Hanasan Hot Spring Hotel, which is only a two or three-minute walk away). Overall, however, the minor drawbacks don't detract from the overall excellent experience, and I would still consider booking here again on my next visit.

Excellent location, and the service was attentive and proactive. The breakfast was plentiful, and the complimentary dinner included in our package was delicious. We also added the bonfire dinner in the evening, which was equally tasty. The summer price offers incredible value for money compared to winter, and the 22-degree Celsius summer weather was just perfect!

The service at Hyatt was truly exceptional, and the entire hotel was fantastic and very clean. From the dining to the location and the overall service, it really enhanced our trip. It's a shame it rained in Changbai Mountain, but I genuinely recommend it – you get what you pay for!

This was the worst hotel of our trip, so I'm sharing my review for others' reference. The facilities are incredibly old and outdated, making for a very uncomfortable stay. We had a two-night booking but checked out early and moved to the Park Hyatt, even though they're part of the same group. This Hyatt's rooms are just too old and worn out, and quite dirty. The bed felt damp too. It definitely wasn't worth the price. In terms of service, other hotels like Crowne Plaza or even guesthouses offer butler service via WeChat for personalized assistance. Here, there was no butler service at all, no one to inform us about hotel activities or anything. Maybe they don't lack bookings. We chose Hyatt because online it said it was suitable for kids, but upon arrival, there's no kids' club, nothing. Any benefits are for the park itself. So, from a positioning perspective, this hotel lacks any unique features. If you want something high-end, you could choose the Park Hyatt. For a mid-range option with strong family appeal, you could pick another hotel within the park. This hotel feels like an awkward choice, especially since the facilities and service are so subpar. I really disliked it.

The Hyatt's location is absolutely superb! Right outside the hotel, you're on a bustling commercial street. Waking up and opening the window, you get a stunning view of the ski slopes, which are lush green meadows in the summer, with mist swirling around the mountain peaks – simply breathtaking. The facial soap and mouthwash were excellent. The hotpot set around the fireplace was great value for money and tasted delicious. While the buffet breakfast might not look extensive, there's plenty to eat, and I highly recommend the Jianbing Guozi (savory crepes), noodles, and oatmeal bowls. You can even book a dog-walking session, and the dogs are all very gentle. The only letdown was the hairdryer; it just doesn't live up to the Hyatt standard. It's a Laifen, and while I'm not asking for a Dyson, they could at least get a more premium Laifen model. With such a cheap version, it takes ages to dry my hair to the point where it's barely not dripping. I had to wash my hair in the morning and struggle to blow-dry it just enough not to drip before heading out.
