ldanxiFacilities: Beyond expectations. Each room is named after a place in Switzerland, and the decor varies accordingly. The room was spacious with many windows, offering views of the train station, the bustling market, and snow-capped mountains in the distance. The corner space was very cozy, and the toilet and bathroom were large.
Cleanliness: Very clean, with no overlooked spots. There was also a beautiful orchid in the room.
Service: The front desk staff were exceptionally gentle and friendly. They proactively and thoughtfully explained how to access water and where to drink it. The mini-bar was free, and upon check-in, we were even given extra bottled mineral water in glass bottles.
Environment: The location is incredibly convenient. It's just a few minutes' walk to the train station, so no worries about carrying heavy luggage. All major city attractions are within walking distance, and the surrounding neighborhood is very pleasant.

This was the fifth hotel on my trip to Switzerland. It's two bus stops from the train station, but conveniently located right by the stop, so getting there wasn't an issue. The hotel clearly exudes a rich history and old-world charm, with its luxurious European-style decor. I had a bit of trouble initially finding the right entrance and the front desk within the building. I'd actually booked a city view room, but the front desk upgraded me to a stunning lake view room – seriously, you *must* book a lake view! The terrace views were absolutely breathtaking!! The room itself wasn't huge, but it did have air conditioning. The bathroom was a tad small, mainly due to a large, rather useless cabinet taking up unnecessary space.

The room was spacious and well-equipped with all the basic necessities, making it a good choice for business accommodation. However, our booking included dinner, but the front desk couldn't find it... Luckily, I asked what time dinner was during check-in, otherwise, it would have been a wasted trip for dinner.

The hotel is more than 500 years old and has a sense of history. The rooms are clean and spacious. The service is warm and welcoming. The restaurant is decorated in a European classical style with a warm flavor. The hotel is in a prime location, close to the river and a 10-minute walk from the train station, which is very convenient.

petter62First off, the location isn't too far from Lucerne train station. We had a Swiss Pass, so we could take the bus for free. We rode one stop, got off, crossed a road, and turned left – super convenient! Many bus routes pass by, and Chapel Bridge is just a walk away. The hotel upgraded us to a deluxe double room, which was much larger. There was plenty of space for luggage, and it didn't feel cramped at all. The room was clean, and they provided two large bottles of water daily, which was enough for our needs. Everything was great, and the only reason I didn't give full marks was the extra tax charged, as others have mentioned. Initially, the front desk staff was polite. When I showed them my booking confirmation, pointing out that the tax on the order differed from what I actually paid, they looked at it for a while, then unhappily replied, 'I don't know.' I ended up contacting Ctrip customer service. They told me they'd contacted the hotel but couldn't negotiate. Finally, Ctrip customer service said they would compensate the difference with points, which arrived quickly – kudos to Ctrip! Many people have brought up this tax issue, and I'm not sure where the problem lies. Other hotels in Switzerland charged exactly what was stated on the booking. Only this hotel charged differently. Although it wasn't a lot of money, it felt a bit uncomfortable. Also, someone mentioned a 100 CHF deposit per day, which they indeed charged. When I checked out, I specifically asked when it would be refunded, and the front desk said the same day, which it was. In Lucerne, there's a Chinese restaurant called No. 8 that serves delicious Chinese food, completely authentic to domestic tastes. The owner is also very nice and polite.

Manny365No kettle and the room was quite small, but the location is super central. It's really close to Lucerne's main attractions, so if location is a priority for you, this place is a good choice. Switzerland is notoriously expensive, and this area felt a bit rural for the price. I'd estimate a hotel of this caliber would probably cost around 200 RMB in China. There's no free parking, so you'll have to find a paid parking lot nearby.

Hotel was in a great location, room was clean and very nice, bed was comfortable, and view was nice. Our bathroom was across the hall from our bedroom-- which though a little strange --didn't cause us any issues as it was private and clean (and huge). The only critique I have would be about the self check-in. I understand the goals of having a streamlined check-in process, but we didn't recieve the email with instructions, and had no answer to an email of inquiry. It took me phoning the hotel's administration to get an answer, in which the woman was very helpful, but did take away some of our time in Lucerne. If there was a more straightforward process that did not involve using the machine at the front door, as well as having clearer instructions on checking out, the stay would have been perfect.

Guest UserGreat hostel that operates with hotel-style services. Just across the road, there's a Coop supermarket and plenty of food options nearby. The room was spacious, and it even had a large balcony with a table and chairs. Towels were changed daily, and the room was cleaned every day. The shower area came with shampoo and other amenities, which was a nice touch. Breakfast was all-you-can-eat and had everything you'd expect. Highly recommended!

avvelisThis hostel felt like going to a summer camp, all noisy and with lots of companies there. At night though it was rather peaceful, but really hot due to no air conditioning in the room. Lots of convenient lockers for a deposit of 2 CHF that you get back after opening it. Showers too were as if I went to my old dormitory campus, closing with just curtains and no light in the stall behind them, but at least there were plentiful hangers and shelves. Location is pretty far but reachable with a bus, so having a free bus pass was handy (although nobody ever asked to show it). Breakfast was great, lots of choice. For being probably the cheapest option there for a solo traveler, it was really okay.
