Park Hyatt Melbourne

9.3/10
Great

I stayed at the Park Hyatt Melbourne on my solo trip and was very satisfied with the overall experience. The room was spacious and quiet, and the housekeeping was meticulous. The bedding was comfortable, leading to a great night's sleep. The hotel environment is elegant, and the location is quite convenient, with a luxurious ambiance throughout. The staff were professional and polite; both check-in and check-out were very smooth. The facilities are well-maintained, making for a relaxing stay. It exceeded my expectations overall, and I'll definitely prioritize staying here again next time I'm in Melbourne.

The hotel is a bit old, but its location is a big plus – super convenient for shopping! The bed was comfy and soft, and the in-room facilities were well-equipped. No one offered to help with luggage, and the hotel has two entrances, but the staff didn't tell me which one was easier for catching a ride. When I came back by taxi, they didn't open the door for me, but when my friends dropped me off, they were very enthusiastic, opened the car door, and greeted us!

Novotel Melbourne Airport

The Novotel and Holiday Inn share a lobby, and it's less than a 10-minute walk to the terminal. Check-in was quick, and the room was quite spacious, even coming with a coffee machine. For a coffee lover like me, that's a huge plus, especially since many 5-star hotels in China don't offer them in rooms, though I didn't end up using it since breakfast was included. You can even watch planes take off and land from the room. In contrast, the breakfast was pretty standard with limited options. However, for anyone used to a Western-style breakfast of bread, coffee, juice, eggs, and sausage, it's perfectly adequate.

The Victoria Hotel

This was my second stay at this hotel, so I'm quite familiar with the surroundings now. The hotel's location is excellent; it's very convenient for shopping nearby, and bus 86 right outside takes you straight to the central station for the SkyBus. This time, I booked a triple room again, and while it had three single beds, they were very spacious. There's a kettle, coffee, and tea provided. The bathroom door was a bit broken, but it didn't affect anything. I did find a receipt from the previous guest under the bed, but other than that, everything was fine. I recommend staying here.

Perfect location and an excellent place to stay. The hotel facilities are practically brand new, and both the reception staff and housekeeping team were friendly and professional throughout my stay. I stayed for more than a week and thoroughly enjoyed my time at this serviced apartment. The rooms were comfortable, well maintained, and had everything I needed. I would happily stay here again and would recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

Sheraton Melbourne Hotel

This hotel deserves a five-star review! I wish I had stayed at the Sheraton for my entire trip to Melbourne. It's in the city center, which is incredibly convenient, and even late at night, around 8-9 PM, there are still plenty of people around, making it feel very safe. When I checked in, there was a Chinese-speaking staff member available. Although the person who actually checked me in was of Indian descent, a Chinese colleague came over to make sure everything was alright before leaving. They even offered me a complimentary glass of champagne! The hotel room was spacious and clean, definitely the best I've stayed in during my past two weeks in Sydney and Melbourne. It certainly lived up to expectations! Right outside the hotel, there's a Rolex store, and if you walk down the street, you'll find the Town Hall and a church. There are plenty of options for dining, entertainment, and shopping. It's also not far from Australia's famous WWL? Or was it WWs?

Ibis Styles Kingsgate Hotel

Overall, not a bad hotel. The location is very convenient; all major city attractions are within walking distance. Everything is clean, the reception/foyer areas are pleasant, and there's a cozy lounge in front of the cafe entrance where you can read a book or just pass the time if housekeeping is cleaning your room. The housekeepers are Chinese women, and there were no complaints about the cleaning. It was nice that they changed the bed linen every 2-3 days without us having to ask. The room is certainly very small, but it's perfectly fine for one person, especially if you're there for sightseeing rather than spending time in the room. The miniature window overlooks a wall with AC units and oddly only opened to a 15-centimeter gap at the bottom. Holes in the window screen (mine had a torn screen on this small window) would be a problem in the summer, but no bugs will fly in during a winter month. The room renovation is relatively recent. There's a nice backlight above the headboard. The duvet covers are the same as in Africa, by the way – two regular sheets on either side of the duvet. In the shower, it's inconvenient that there's no handheld showerhead, only an overhead rain shower. There are no toothbrushes with paste or hair conditioner, so keep that in mind. What is provided: shower gel, hairdryer, ironing board with iron, wall-mounted air conditioner, TV, refrigerator, kettle, and everything works perfectly. Bottled water isn't provided because there's no point: the water in Australia is very clean, and everyone drinks tap water. Regarding breakfast: in the 16 days I spent at this hotel, the menu never changed. What you see in my photos here is what was in the cafe every day, the same items in the same spots. The staff is very friendly and always ready to help.

It would have been good except for the large western facing windows left without blinds down and an electrical setup that turns the air conditioning off when no one is in the room. So we arrived to stifling heat, and an air conditioner that doesn't really cool the bedrooms, and no fans or windows in the main bedroom. Most other things were good, but having a comfortable room is fundamental and the apartment just isn't set up for that. We enjoyed the location and the pool. We can't really speak to service levels cos we didn't ask for, expect or get any. It was a bit frustrating that the hotel only had a booking for 4 adults when we made a booking for 2A+3C on trip.com but who knows who was responsible for that.

We stayed here for 6 nights during our honeymoon, and it was truly a memorable stay. One thing we really appreciated was that we arrived at the hotel quite early, at around 1:00 PM, and the front desk kindly allowed us to check in early. After a long flight, being able to settle into our room and have a rest before exploring the city meant so much to us. We were genuinely grateful for this thoughtful gesture. The location is fantastic, right in the heart of Melbourne CBD. Chinatown is directly across the road, and there are plenty of restaurants, supermarkets, cafés, and tram stops nearby. Most of Melbourne’s attractions are within walking distance or just a short tram ride away, making it an ideal base for exploring the city. Our room on the 15th floor was spacious, modern, clean, and very comfortable. We especially loved having a fully equipped kitchen with a microwave, refrigerator, and cooking utensils. Staying for six nights, it was wonderful to cook a few meals ourselves instead of eating out every day. It made us feel less like tourists and more like locals. Every evening after a full day of sightseeing, returning to our room on the 15th floor felt like coming home. It became a place where we could truly relax and unwind. By the last day, packing our luggage was unexpectedly emotional because we had grown so attached to the hotel and simply didn’t want to leave. There was a small issue with the parking during our stay, and although it wasn’t handled perfectly at first, it was eventually resolved and did not affect our holiday. We also found that the service experience varied between staff members. A few employees appeared less friendly, while others were genuinely warm, professional, and always greeted us with a smile. Their kindness made us feel very welcome. Overall, the excellent location, spacious room, home-like atmosphere, and the convenience of having a kitchen made this one of the most enjoyable hotel stays we’ve had. The few minor issues were far outweighed by the positive experience. Thank you to the team for making our honeymoon even more special. We would definitely stay here again when we return to Melbourne, and we highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient place to stay. ❤️

We booked a King Standard hotel for this trip as we have the special rate from Trip.com. Before we arrived we received an email from Trip urging us to write an email to ask for early check in as we also booked an airline ticket thru Trip. When arrived in hotel ard 9.45 am we were offered a room ( with immediate availability ) but with a payment of AUD 50. When I asked for a twin bed room as usually King and Twin Bed will have same rate, but not this hotel. If we were to change the bed style we have to pay AUD 30/night for 5 nights 😅😅another AUD 150. Enough for all the morning communications so we just ignore the bed details and went straight to our room after the payment. On the day we checked out we came to know that the front officer recharged our hotel fee even when Trip.com confirmed that everything was fully paid. What a money maker hotel!! Front officer told us they will refund us the amount though. However the room is small and nice and everything was up to international 4 standard but Crown ****** Tower has a much more beautiful and bigger room. Though both have stunning nice view of the Yarra River as in attached.
