Hotel near CBD,Southbank
Rising above the vibrant Southbank precinct, only minutes from the city and miles from the ordinary, Crown Metropol Melbourne’s sleek black façade is a nod to the city in which it proudly resides. Situated on the doorstep of Melbourne’s trendy southside, a short stroll from the CBD, South Melbourne Market, iconic sporting stadiums and 20 minutes from Melbourne’s International and Domestic airports. The modern rooms are a mix of clean classic lines with bold punctuations of colour and style. There are floor-to ceiling windows to take in the views, bespoke amenities, Wi-Fi and a mini bar stocked with Australian brands. The iconic infinity pool located on the 27th floor offers spectacular panoramic two-storey views of the city skyline. An array of entertainment options is on your doorstep with renowned restaurants, enticing bars, shopping, cinemas, karaoke and bowling, available throughout the Crown Melbourne complex.

"Pool was fantastic albeit over chlorinated (my silver jewelry oxidised instantly so ladies please remember to take your jewelry off). Location was good. Room was clean and bed was comfy. The cons: no free water bottles in the room. Charging ports were not next to the bed so unable to charge our phones close to us overnight. And the bathroom is not fully private (sliding doors and large gap between the door and the wall meant you couldn’t fully close it and it’s a little awkward when you’re staying with business colleagues!)"

Bathroom very clean and adequate, heating and cooling easy to adjust to your liking.. Only 1 thing , the coffee and tea supply is very limited in the room, but otherwise service and admission was friendly ,professional and pleasant."

AAnonymous UserExcellent! Great value for money, and I really appreciate their 'green life' philosophy. I even kept a room key card as a souvenir. As a new hotel, everything is quite clean, and the eco-friendly concept is evident in every corner. If you look closely, you'll notice the decor and furniture are quite sophisticated. If you're driving, you have to use their valet parking service to park in their garage, which costs $75/night. My only minor point is that it's a bit far from the city center, and walking at night might feel a little unsafe. Otherwise, everything else is great!

GGuest UserRoom is spacious but the pool is a bit small and don't feel that clean (might due to lack of lights). Hotel's location is great with easy access to the largest shopping center. Staff are super friendly and also provided us a small plate of sweets to celebrate my patterer's birthday.

AAngelThe hotel was easy to find and offered 24-hour free parking, though it cost $80 a day. However, street parking in front and behind the hotel was free from 6:30 PM to 7:30 AM. After 7:30 AM, you had to pay, with rates of $4 per hour on weekdays and $2 on weekends. You might need to search a bit for a spot. The room was spacious and came with slippers. They provided four bottles of mineral water daily, and if that wasn't enough, they'd send more upon request – room service was super fast! The room was also very clean. The breakfast selection wasn't huge, but it was very refined. The buffet restaurant had a unique tiered design. Since I had a stroller, they set me up on a separate level with plenty of space, so it didn't bother anyone. The only minor inconvenience was needing help carrying the stroller up and down the stairs, but the staff were always willing to assist. I loved the convenient yet quiet location. It was a 12-15 minute walk to Chinatown and just a 2-minute walk to the tram stop. There's also a large park right outside for a relaxing stroll.

GGuest UserThe 69th floor apartment was absolutely amazing . The views are breathtaking. The apartment was just the right size and the little outside / closed in deck was good on a chilly Melbourne night. The only downfall was the indoor swimming pool it was FREEZING 🥶 !!! So not good after a long day walking around Melbourne city and ready to relax and have a swim !!! The Spa was nice and hot.

JJace369I recently stayed at Novotel Melbourne on Collins, and overall it was a great experience. The location is unbeatable — right in the heart of the city, with easy access to shops, cafes, and public transport. The rooms were clean, modern, and comfortable, with large windows overlooking Collins Street. The bed was very cozy and ensured a good night’s sleep. Staff were friendly and helpful, especially at check-in — they made everything smooth and welcoming. Breakfast had a good variety of options, and the dining area was bright and pleasant. The gym and facilities were well-maintained, though the pool was a bit small. Overall, it’s an excellent choice for both business and leisure stays. The combination of great location, comfort, and professional service makes it one of the best value stays in Melbourne CBD.

AACA place for rejuvenate and value for money. Location: we did not rent a car, but can go there from CBD by train (30 mins) and bus (10 mins). If you catch the 496 bus from Laventon, it takes a 8 mins walk to the hotel off the bus stop, If you take 497 from Williamslanding, it takes 18 minutes, but you can shop at the centre (Coles, Aldi, K-Mart and Chinese supermarket), eat at different restaurants, and have manicure or massage. Facilities: the unit is well equipped with cooking utensils, we cooked our breakfast. There is no buffet breakfast but a la carte menu at the country club. The country club has gym and swimming pool too. Nearby attraction: we went to Werribee zoom, Weribee Park, Werribee Mansion, Joseph's resturant. The zoo has a safari bus which is a great attraction. Staff: the staff is helpful. We requested a lake view room one day before. They helped us by calling the cleaner as our check in day is a public holiday. Much appreciated.

CComet10Compact apartment but served its purpose. We were missing some crockery but reception assisted with this and also gave us some blankets up on request. The 2 single beds are on casters but no brakes. The main room had a great views of the city. Jack & Jill bathroom worked fine. We were not advised of the roadworks outside the property prior to booking. The night works ( 1800-0230) were noisy despite being on the 21st floor. The parking was good once we worked out where to go as the main entry was closed upon our arrival as the road was closed. What makes it difficult if driving, is to find somewhere to park prior to checking in to the apartments to collect the keys and garage keys as the other roads are busy. That’s not the apartments fault but frustrating for the customers and staff. Once the roadworks are completed I’m sure it’ll be a lot easier.

GGuest UserThree bedrooms and two bathrooms, with balcony, kitchen (with oven, microwave, large refrigerator) and washer and dryer; it has a lot of space. We stayed for a total of 6 nights. There was no room cleaning. We had to take out the trash ourselves. Room cleaning service will only be provided if we stay for more than 7 nights. The overall feeling is very good. This area is very quiet, but it is also in the cable car free zone in the city, so you don’t have to worry about transportation when going to the city for dining.

GgowanchaidotcomWe stayed altogether three nights here. The hotel was converted from a historical building dated back to 1890s . We enjoyed the stay-included breakfast at Alluvial restaurant. It got charming vibe. the King Classic room we stayed is spacious consider it is in zone 1 of Melbourne. The hotel is in walking distance to many of the Melbourne city attractions we are even able to take some rest in the room in our planned city walking trip in the middle of a very hot summer sunny day. The bathroom provides Byredo toiletries which we like. However, the decor is a bit dated and need refreshing and we are not happy with the service level of the staff. For example, the phone handfree function is not working properly; the safe is according to the hotel ”in the process of replacement” and not working either; the call to ”Instant Service” for help often took more than 5-seconds ring especially during the night time. There is even a false fire alert during one of the morning time of our stay. I doubt it is a standard of Intercontinental hotel or a 5-star rated hotel. For whom consider staying at this room type of this hotel, please note the windows is fixed and facing the hallway so the room has 1. no natural sunlight 2. no fresh air and 3. needs closing the curtains all the time if you prefer privacy. Another point worth noting is the bathroom floor is very slippery after bath, I would call it a death trap if you wear the one-off slippers that is provided in the room as you can easily get a slip and fall on the bathroom floor even for a grown adult.

VVSingLocation: The hotel is situated in a very quiet area, perfect for a peaceful getaway. Nights were serene with barely any car noise. It’s about a 10-minute drive to a nearby mall with Coles, Kmart, and other essentials—super convenient. For travelers, it’s around 40 minutes from the airport, which is manageable. Cleanliness: This was a mixed bag. Upon entering, we noticed a burnt iron mark and several purple stains on the carpet. We made sure to report these to reception immediately due to the $300 AUD bond fee, to avoid being held responsible. Being close to a lake or river meant encountering mosquitoes and some large flies. We also found spiders in the bathroom, but we managed to catch and release them outdoors. Towels provided were an issue—one was dirty when we checked in, and even the replacement towel the next day had stains. However, the beds were spotless, which was a relief. Service: The front desk staff were excellent—friendly, thorough, and accommodating. They explained all the amenities, including the location of the gym and pool, and handled our late checkout request graciously. Facilities: Although I didn’t personally use the gym or pool, the in-room facilities stood out. The smart TV was a bonus, with access to YouTube, Disney+, and Prime Video, ensuring entertainment for the family. Room: The two-bedroom apartment was incredibly spacious, with two bedrooms flanking a central living room. Each bedroom had its own bathroom, complete with an exhaust fan to keep the heat out. The beds were the highlight—so soft and comfortable, providing an excellent night’s sleep. Overall: While the initial issues with bugs were unpleasant (I dislike insects), once we cleared them out, the stay became very enjoyable. The spacious layout, serene environment, and cozy beds made it a pleasant experience overall.
